Back Alley Sims and Chris Hatch's Family Friendly Hacks

I was discussing some of Chris Hatch's mods with joandsarah77 and I thought that it's a pity that some of his family friendly mods probably don't get as much exposure as they deserve due to having to wade through a sea of boobs in order to find them. XD

So I decided to dig out the family friendly ones I could find and post the direct links for people who want to avoid the nekkidness found while searching through BAS with all the adult hacks (Not me; I admit. I downloaded the heck out of the naughty stuff. XD).

Hospital mod. I personally love this. Takes a bit of setting up, but it's worth it as you can send sick sims to hospital to be cured and send pregnant sims there to have their babies. Pick the family friendly version or your nurses will be of the slutty variety!

Working religions. Make your own gods/goddesses and choose what morals each religion follows. You'll want to use an NPC clothing changer on the nun who is included, because she is wearing a distinctly unnunlike outfit.

Buyable baby clothes. No more DRs needed and as many outfits as you can find (and your sims can afford). A lot of other sites have linked this one on their own pages, but in case anyone hasn't discovered it yet here is the original.

There are a couple of other family friendly mods that are paired up with some racier ones, so if you want nickable hotel towels or a men don't hit girls hack or more sane reactions to naked sims then let me know and I could probably upload the hacks somewhere. I didn't include fashion shows or fixes for the BV Hotel maid because you can get those at Paladin's Place as well.

If I missed anything or if you have any questions then let me know! And if anyone is interested in adult hacks you can find just about anything you could desire or imagine if you browse around the Back Alley Sims site.

joandsarah77 23rd Jul 2014 2:35 PM

Charity this is a great idea but... I get a "You are not logged in or you do not have permission to access this page." page. Now since I did join I could log in (if I could remember my password but it's been ages) But anyone who isn't a member will probably have to register. I'll have to see if I can recover the password tomorrow as it's way too late over here now.

Charity 23rd Jul 2014 2:40 PM

Ah, damn. I didn't think of that because I am a member. Yeah, I think you do need to register. The registering page is nudity free, here. http://backalleysims.com/adultsite/register.php

EmeraldFalcon 23rd Jul 2014 3:41 PM

Charity, you should post what your username is over there so that I can give you credit for the referral. :P

This is probably a good place to ask this. I've actually looked at the BAS EPs a couple times, but I was always discouraged by the lack of backwards compatibility. What I mean is, I don't ever install anything in my game that I can't take out. This is basically limited to three things: custom foods, custom careers, and invisible NPC objects. Unfortunately, careers are a part of the BAS EP, but if you frequent that site often, you'd probably know how much of the stuff from the EP is available separately. I do remember reading about some stuff in the EP that sounded cool, but since careers are included, I don't want it all. I just had a hard time (or maybe a lack of patience) trying to figure out how to get just specific mods/objects rather than the whole kit and caboodle.

Charity 23rd Jul 2014 4:06 PM

My username over there is just Charity322. I looked at the EPs as well, but I just didn't want all of the stuff they had in them. I prefer to be able to pick and choose the parts I want, which is why I'm grateful that Chris has separated out quite a few things. Not all, unfortunately, but a lot. I wouldn't mind getting the working daycare separated out and the skiing.

PenelopeT 23rd Jul 2014 4:15 PM

Great list, Charity. Thanks for taking the time to put it together.

I have a number of Chris Hatch's mods already, but you listed a few that I've not taken a look at. Will have to do that.

That's what I call "genetic hair" over at my site, in case anyone wants other styles.

You can't actually have separate hairs with the mod, as they use the same textures for both genders. The only real difference is the bow. I tried adding extra textures and add a different mesh, but wasn't very successful.

CatherineTCJD 23rd Jul 2014 5:27 PM

I've often wondered about some of his ..."stuff" - and I am registered over there. But, I just don't have enough eye-bleach to browse through everything. Thank you soooo much for this list. :lovestruc

I (and my 10 yr-old, who's always looking over my shoulder, wanting new shineys for her game too) thank YOU!!!

That hospital mod has intrigued me for a looong time - must think more about it...

M.M.A.A. 23rd Jul 2014 5:52 PM

Thanks Charity for saving my eyes! (And that of many others!)

Mumty 23rd Jul 2014 7:52 PM

I'm really confused with the visiting other sims mod.
Do you have to remove the complete hospital mod, and then install the visiting sims mod or just the "core" hospital mod? Because I have loads of hospital extras installed like the nurses and stuff.

maxon 23rd Jul 2014 8:55 PM

A small word of warning - some of Chris Hatch's mods conflict with other mods. It's not really his fault, there are a lot of mods out there and you can't really expect him to make his stuff compatible with everything. I'm just posting this to say if you use any game changing mods, make sure you read the instructions carefully when DL Chris Hatch's stuff. You may need to take a decision about which mod you want to use.

There is a version of the visiting other sims mod that includes the hospital mod and you need to replace the hospital mod with it like so.

"The first of these (CJH_Hospital+Visit-Pets-to-AL) uses the phone dialogue instead of the travel dialogue which makes it easy to choose another family to visit. It will add 'Visit Sim' to the car's menu if conditions are right. It is available at most locations so your sims can go straight from a community lot to a friend's house.
No matter what I tried, if one sim travels to a residential lot then the whole of that sim's family will travel there also, those that don't get in the car at home will be standing near the mail box when you arrive. So to keep it tidy I've made it so sims can only visit when their whole family is home and OK to travel. They can't visit other sims if they have a baby or toddler in the family (put it down to lack of child restraints). Or if a family member is at work or school.

As these need to override the some of the same semi-globals as the hospital mod this first installment is an extension of the hospital mod.
You will need to remove CJH_Hospitals-Pets-to-AL.Package when you put this into your DL folder."

HCDU does bring up a conflict with the hospital mod and the Visitor Controller, but if you make sure that the hospital mod loads last then they seem to work together.

gazania 24th Jul 2014 2:52 AM

Again, be careful with that visitors mod. Make SURE no Sims leave or that no new ones enter the lot. A couple of us did get grayed-out build and buy sections that we just couldn't get rid of until we moved everyone out of the affected house and back in again. Personally, I would use the Blender to ban as many Sims as possible until the visit has been completed. That might cut down on the number of walkbys who might decide to enter the lot and flap their arms the moment a stove catches on fire. Or use a no-fire mod. That might work better, since it will hopefully stop a firefighter from entering the lot. Watch out for maids and gardeners as well, I would surmise.

I forgot the shared tub one was there. Yes ... you can be innocent or not innocent with it, as you wish.

I had a problem with the alternative teen pregnancy controllers, though. I didn't want to use Inteen, but was curious about teen pregnancy. However, I couldn't get the mod to work, even after reading the explanation and all the comments. At the time, though, I had only up to Seasons. Perhaps it works better with all EPs.

joandsarah77 24th Jul 2014 3:27 AM

Well I grabbed the wedding mat and the visitor one. I hope it doesn't conflict with community lot time, so I downloaded walk only as for me community lot time only works if they use a taxi so hopefully the two will be separate.

iCad 24th Jul 2014 3:38 AM

Thanks for doing this, Charity. I am not one who's bothered by boobs, but I just can never find anything on that site! I think I registered long ago...but I don't remember what username/password I set up. Time to experiment!

EmeraldFalcon 24th Jul 2014 3:44 AM

That pregnancy relationship adjustment is soooo tempting. I wish it came in more flavors, though. A slightly higher logic skill required for the husband to realize it's not his kid, maybe...and I feel like I'd like other factors than just the teen's grades affecting how mad her parents are. I might get it anyway, though. It's always annoyed me how silly some sim spouses are about that.

(Side story--I remember that being one of the first things I tested in The Sims 3, to see if they'd made it any better. I had a heartbreaker girl seduce Agnes Crumplebottom and marry her, then my chick got pregnant by someone else and she announced her pregnancy to Agnes. Agnes was overjoyed. >.< Silly woman! You're lesbians! She cheated on your dumb butt! XD)

Charity 24th Jul 2014 3:49 AM

Editing the logic skill required in SimPE shouldn't be hard to do. Not sure about the grade thing. What other factors were you thinking of?

I have to admit that I didn't get the visiting mod. I couldn't see that it would do anything that teleporting a sim in and making them temporarily selectable wouldn't do.

EmeraldFalcon 24th Jul 2014 4:01 AM

I think a logic skill of four or five would be better. A lot of my sims are chess fiends, so three logic points are pretty common.

For the teen's relationship with her parents, a couple ideas were floating around in my mind. I think parents with a LTR of 80 or more towards the teen shouldn't get the drop at all, since they love their kid and are supportive. Maybe aspiration should be a factor, too; for example, a parent with a Romance or Family aspiration shouldn't be as upset because Romance would understand that condoms break sometimes, and Family would be excited to have a grandchild. Fortune would be pretty upset, because it's another mouth to feed. Knowledge would be disappointed that the teen will have a harder time going to college, and should have paid more attention in sex ed. Popularity and Pleasure would probably be in between, because they're upset at the kid, but both aspirations have always seemed like very hands-off parents to me, and would probably figure it was the teen's own problem.

Aegagropilon 24th Jul 2014 10:38 AM

Another potential downside to that pregnancy adjuster would be if the player had a "female sims get pregnant from alien abduction, too" mod in a super-nerdy Knowledge sim couple. The husband/boyfriend would certainly have enough logic points to know it's not his and the fury would be unwarranted because alien abduction.

...Though that could be played off as him being extremely jealous that she got abducted -- and alien pregnant -- and he didn't. And it would give the player a bit of DRAMA for their little hive of geekery: do they break up? do they come to an agreement that only he gets to be abducted from here on out (denying her the experience of going up into space)? does she just say "be that way" and continue sticking her eye to the telescope? etc.

(The alien pregnancy rage would be even sillier for same-sex couples who are reproducing via abduction.)

Charity 24th Jul 2014 11:08 AM

I asked Chris Hatch about that actually. There is a check to see if the father is the PT and if he is then there is no relationship drop.

Nysha 24th Jul 2014 11:09 AM

Has anyone played with the religion mod? I'm wondering if the example rules that Chris gives in the instructions are an exhaustive list - 'cause they mostly seem to be about fucking, and that's an aspect of religious interference that I don't find very stimulating story-wise. :P

Charity 24th Jul 2014 11:12 AM

Those are pretty much all of them. You could probably add others though.

Nysha 24th Jul 2014 11:40 AM

Maybe, but... I think the amount of work I'd have to put in to make the mod do what I'd want it to would be a bit disproportionate to the reward. I'd want an "It's encouraged" option for starters (mainly so I can make a cult of bitchy warriors who get into fistfights at every opportunity), and I imagine the code which decides what a sim will or won't do and when is probably very, very complex... and would be a pain in the arse to duplicate and make work for different interactions.

Mumty 24th Jul 2014 12:04 PM

LOVE LOVE LOVE the wedding mat!
He said in the comments if he could get the father to walk his daughter down the aisle, that would be amazing but I don't think he's gonna do it.

EmeraldFalcon 24th Jul 2014 3:47 PM

Another thought about the pregnancy relationship adjuster--it would probably be much harder than making the changes I already mentioned, but I think the parents should have an unconditional one-way relationship drop towards anyone their pregnant teen is romantically involved with. I like the idea of my sim parents holding the father accountable as well, and it wouldn't specifically have to be the correct father. They'd just naturally be more suspicious and on their guard.

thomaz 24th Jul 2014 5:41 PM

I have the VISIT SIMS MOD, it's cool :D

AndrewGloria 24th Jul 2014 8:43 PM

I have registered with BAS in order to download some of the things that Charity linked to. In order to register I had to agree to "not post any messages that are obscene, vulgar, sexually-oriented". . .

So clearly I won't find anything like that on Back Alley Sims, Will I?

SleepyTabby 24th Jul 2014 8:51 PM

*lol at AndrewGloria's post* Yeah, I just can't bring myself to register on a site that I have no intention of surfing on or visiting again. My Sims game is full of cotton candy clouds and rainbows and I like it that way (okay, maybe not that pure, but still).

Still, thanks for trying to help us find the family-friendly section, Charity. It's just too bad about the registration, although I understand why they'd want visitors to register.

Mumty 24th Jul 2014 9:46 PM

My sims kept getting this weird error when getting carpools so I removed all his mods :p
I'm just a scaredy cat!

joandsarah77 24th Jul 2014 10:25 PM

Lol Andrew, that's funny.

Mods can clash Mumty, but your best bet is to read up carefully as sometime read me's will mention if it clashes with another mod. best to remove one at a time. Sometimes one mod needs to load before or after another and you do that by placing a few 'aaa' or 'zzz' at the start of the file name. If you installed a mod that creates NPC's do NOT pull it. Pulling corrupts your hood. If you installed Chris's Hospital mod you will need to put it back right away as it does create NPC's. That or start a new neighbourhoods. Also make sure to install and keep a Super Hug fix mod in at all times as pulling social mods may result in this Maxis made code coming out of your installation files and showing up in your game play where all your sims do autonomously is hug, all the time. Boiling Oils No Sim Loaded is one fix and if you put that in and never remove it you won't ever get the Super Hug.

Yeah, I had to re-register because I forgot the login I created there eons ago, and when I read that, knowing what's to be had on that site, I just about died laughing. I mean, seriously? Obviously, they pulled the language from some generic legal CYA blather somewhere but...yeah. Lots of laughter over here. There were tears, even.

But, even though I have a shiny new registration, I still haven't downloaded anything, although I'm interested in a few things. It's just that I'm wary because of all my other mods. I'll have to be in the right mood to possibly deal with with figuring out load order and such before I download anything and, so far, I haven't been in such a mood.

joandsarah77 24th Jul 2014 10:49 PM

I had forgotten my log in as well, but it has a retrieve/reset password thingame, I just put in my email address and it sent me a new password.

iCad 24th Jul 2014 10:59 PM

Yeah. Tried that. Couldn't remember what email I used to register the first time. I tried the most likely candidates, but they didn't work, and I didn't feel like going through the dozens of possibilities. I have/have had a lot of email addresses, I'm afraid, most of them spam-catchers. Plus, there's no guarantee I'd remember the login for the email address I'd used even if I stumbled on the right one. Sooooo, it was just easier to create a new login using my current spam-catcher email addy.

thomaz 24th Jul 2014 11:01 PM

I am trying out the "visit other sims" hack...i never knew it was possible!

terula8 9th Mar 2015 11:21 PM

Would it be even remotely possible to unravel the coding that creates the school and the childcare centre in his A&N stuff mod? I am desperate to have both of those in my game (I can live without the hospital, as I'd prefer to play my doctors myself, but if necessary, I'd be okay with it.) I ask this as someone willing to volunteer for the task if someone better at coding is willing to split the job with me!

joandsarah77 9th Mar 2015 11:24 PM

Simlogical already has a school.

smorbie1 10th Mar 2015 1:06 AM

Thank you for doing this

esmeiolanthe 10th Mar 2015 1:33 AM

The hospital absolutely requires A&N right, and definitely creates NPCs? I've been pondering it for a while, and will probably continue pondering until I end up with a computer that can no longer play TS2... And are the wedding mat and the flowers for Mom safe to pull if you decide you don't like them? Or do they break things when you pull them?

CaliBrat 10th Mar 2015 1:44 AM

Not to sound to blonde here, but .. umm.. what's A&N?

esmeiolanthe 10th Mar 2015 1:45 AM

Angels & Nurses. It's Chris Hatch's religion-and-hospital mod that is complicated enough and big enough to effectively be another EP. (Expansion Pack.)

I wouldn't mind a hospital in my game, but I don't want any religious stuff. Personal preference, that's all -- it's cool if other people do.

joandsarah77 10th Mar 2015 1:49 AM

Not sure on the wedding mat as I haven't used it, does it produce a priest? If so that would be an NPC. The flowers are just that, a bunch of flowers in the child's hand that goes to mums inventory.

Sunbee 10th Mar 2015 4:21 AM

I have the wedding mat. It does NOT produce a priest or anything else. It does grab a couple of girls, if available, from the family you're playing, to be flower girls/bridesmaids. If there aren't any available, it's just like using a regular arch. Oh, I think it plays a snitch of music, too. I'm not sure if the arches do that or not. And, I don't ever have the videos on, so can't tell you if there's one of those.

No and yes. The version I linked to doesn't require T&A or A&N, but the nurses and doctors are NPCs.

From when the safe to delete question was asked.

If the memories (CJH_Hospital_Memory.package, CJH_MemBabyAdoptOut.package) were installed and have been used then they should never be removed.
NPCs use the template they were created from for pie menus and op-codes so unless you can delete the nurses you should keep the nurse templates and nurse skin. The doctor NPCs would have been added into your neighbourhood and some sims may have formed relationships and memories that depend on them so it would be safest to keep them installed. (they should be in the service sim family so you'll never see them in game without hospitals).
After removing all hospitals from your neighbourhoods it should be safe to delete everything else.

Sorry, that was posted long ago, but...

Does it mean that if a sim family that is being visited hired a butler or a maid, they cannot be visited? Do I understand correctly that the butler or maid will become selectable and bork the lot? This is sad, most of my sims hire maids

There is a new hack on BAS that seems fairly family-friendly, although I have not yet tried it out. It enables game code that allows sims to flirt via text message. I hesitate to link to the page itself, because it has an illustration with naughty bits (I think just because that's how Chris Hatch plays his game, not because the texts are naughty), but here is a description of what the hack does:

Quote:
Sim's that have a mobile phone will get the option to Flirt.../Text Message on other sims that have a mobile phone and that they are romantically compatible with.

Once they use that option the phone line controller is notified and it generates a text message controller. The text message controller will idle for a couple of minutes then cause the receiving sim's phone to ring, the response and relationship change from the receiving sim can be positive, negative or none at all depending on attraction score. After the receiving sim has responded, after a couple of minutes the controller will cause the original sim's phone to ring with the response, when that sim answers the phone there is another small relationship change and the controller self deletes. If either sim does not respond in a timely manner or can't respond then the controller will self delete. The animations, controller etc. already exist in the game.

Aww, that sounds cute!
Next time i'm on BAS i will definitely have a look at it! :D

yungspitta 26th Apr 2015 8:28 PM

Is there a way to delete an account on the site? I tried it, but honestly my morals are repulsed by like 90 percent of the garbage on there. It's so pervy.

maxon 26th Apr 2015 9:22 PM

How would we know here? I guess just don't sign in. They probably purge unused accounts after a while. Most places do (I think).

MadamTenshi 3rd Jun 2015 3:34 PM

Does anybody else find it kinda funny that the only place to get a Religon mod from is a site with a lot of NSFW stuff on it?

I must have had an account there with another e-mail; now no matter what I do I can't register...and don't see anyway to contact anyone there. I've had this happen on a few sites. CAN ANYONE suggest help?

Is there an email contact? Someway to make contact with a person instead of a dumb captcha/computer?

No email, and NOTHING I can access that doesn't require registering! I don't really care.

I DO still care that I can't access MTS adult - the same problem! And I have written to different places on MTS - with no response...

I'm registered there. Do you want me to post a help question on your behalf?

Charity 21st Oct 2015 12:59 PM

Updated the original post with the text flirting mod and the extra for Squinge's breastfeeding mod that I missed the first time.

Macaroodle 21st Oct 2015 8:51 PM

She's not done beta-testing it yet, but Almighty Hat is working on a G-rated religion mod, which I'm really excited about! Her post is here.

Charity 29th Sep 2016 4:55 AM

Added the new ones that Chris made recently, like the Skiing and the Playgroup.

smorbie1 29th Sep 2016 1:39 PM

The other day I had zoned out while watching John Mole (he's kind of boring) when all the sudden he went to the phone and dialed. There was a woohoo icon in his queue. I hadn't put it there, of course, he was all alone. Anyway, he called Violet Jocque (still a teen), and she hurried over and went to bed with him. I was stunned. I thought, in all these years, I've never seen such a thing. Then it occurred to me, this was probably a BAS thing.

Bulbizarre 29th Sep 2016 1:55 PM

Nah, ACR booty call and InTeen (or some other teen woohoo mod). I had Denise Jacquet try to booty call Johnny Smith.

Told you the Jacquets are satan :P

Bulbizarre 29th Sep 2016 2:31 PM

Sometimes I use the ACR adjuster phonebook to zero out the timers and have them make a booty call just to see who shows up. It can be pretty surprising.

PenelopeT 29th Sep 2016 10:20 PM

Charity, looks like Chris added a new mod today, Apartments at University (young adults can now rent apartments) http://www.backalleysims.com/adults...s-at-University.

I do not play the separate university neighborhoods anymore, but thought those that do might be interested.

alljoj 29th Sep 2016 10:26 PM

Can I lie about my age for registration if I'm just on there to grab the apartments at university mod? I've been looking for that for 146909543 years.

Bulbizarre 29th Sep 2016 10:44 PM

@alljoj - check your PMs

This is an ACR action called "Booty call". He must have met Violet at some point and have the highest chemistry with her which places her as his "The One", assuming he has not had any direct romantic interaction with other sims. ACR does not know what an age difference is! However, it does need InTeen or another teen woohoo mod to be installed if you want teens and adults to autonomously woohoo. John's woohoo timer must have got to 0 which means, he looks at who is "The One", calls them up, and fun times ensue...

It can definitely have surprising and unexpected effects when you haven't had a sim date or even flirt with anyone before.

simsfreq 30th Sep 2016 5:47 PM

Huh?! I've always been able to play apartments at university. Why do you need a mod?

Bulbizarre 30th Sep 2016 7:22 PM

Do you have Pescado's apthack? That enables apartments at uni. When I tried it sans hack it didn't work properly but I can't remember many details.

HugeLunatic 30th Sep 2016 9:06 PM

There's a post on BAS about random bans here. Evidently it's their way of removing inactive accounts. Yes, it seems a bit drastic to me, but it's maybe forced on them by their system. (A bit like how, when a pupil leaves my Simlogical school in New Desconia, I have to "expel" them, even though they're really leaving because they've finished learning what the school teaches, and other Sims want their place.) To get reinstated it says to send a polite message to Cdpierson5, either by using the Contact Us button or sending a PM (which evidently still works even though you're "banned". Let me know if you have difficulties and I'll try to contact someone at BAS for you. Charity did the same for me last year when I couldn't log on.

Whatever you do, don't send a rude message! Cdpierson5 says he's (I think he' a "he": he's got a wife!) in a bad mood and is liable to really ban you for that.

Of course the same goes for anyone else "banned" from BAS. I seem to recall that @siletka had this problem.

No. I'd rather have a drink before sending any message - when I did nothing wrong. Not all of us can visit every Sim site that exists all the time - some of us have other things to do as well. If I want to go once in a decade, it should be allowed. They can send me an e-mail (Tumblr do! and ask if I am still "my username" - and I just have to tick YES) if they fear my inactivity. I have only been banned once in my life now.

Charity 1st Oct 2016 2:55 AM

I think it's if you never posted as well. So if you find a vaguely interesting thread to comment on once then maybe it won't happen.

Many of us are, because we never posted only registered.

I've never seen a moderation queue that banned users.

It is more as if somebody had a bad day and decided to ban users left and right. Let's start a club

Only ACR. No other mod needed for this to happen. Melody Tinker turned up after a knowledge Sim's booty call in my game.

Bulbizarre 3rd Oct 2016 10:45 AM

Odd. Did they actually woohoo? Didn't think that was possible for teen woohoo wtihout hack.

EDIT: I just posted on BAS asking the rationale of permabanning inactive users. Hopefully I'll get an answer. For anyone who's not banned, here's a link.

Justpetro 3rd Oct 2016 12:11 PM

You do not need a teen woohoo hack if you have ACR. If you want pregnancies, miscarriages and all kinds of depressing stuff, then you need InTeen. But I use only ACR and my teens can woohoo if, when and with whom they want.

Bulbizarre 4th Oct 2016 12:32 AM

I got a response; don't think anyone will take offense if I posted it here.

Quote:
If any of those who have been "permabanned" as you put it had read the Site Announcements (which they can still do), they would have known that's not what's happening. It's a simple fix, but they have to take a little initiative for that to happen. We've even outlined what needs to be done. You'll have to contact the site owner for the reasons behind the procedure since he's the one that set it up.

I've got a nasty bug at the moment so I'll just bow out for the time being.

You seem to have some vendetta against InTeen, lol. There's a flavor pak to disable miscarriages. I have InTeen for the storytelling! (And even more Pleasant drama.
...yeah.)

ANYWAYS, IM OFF TOPIC. *nyooms out*

Post is here. http://backalleysims.com/adultsite/...575-Random-Bans

I think the problem is that you have to register to download, seeing as it's an adult site and they don't want to get smacked for letting kids in without at least warning them. So people register without ever visiting the forums, so they don't read Site Announcements. The solution is pretty easy though and then make sure you make at least one post so it doesn't happen again.

Justpetro 4th Oct 2016 10:24 AM

There are things I prefer to live without. They include InTeen and sending e-mails to sites which banned me for no reason.

If you'd actually read the link I provided then you'd see that you weren't actually banned.

Justpetro 4th Oct 2016 2:02 PM

Charity, I did read the link.
And even though I may not actually have been banned, receiving messages that I am is still not an enjoyable experience.
I will not send him an e-mail. In my humble opinion, when being an admin on a website, common courtesy and at least acting in a kind of professional way is not too much to ask. I know it is a free website and about a game and what what what. That is, as far as I am concerned, no excuse for using your own trivial excuses to rant while pissing off members who may or may not be an asset for the site in the future.
I maintain Facebook pages. My dishwasher has been broken for 4 bloody months now and nobody seems able to fix it - and nobody on any FB page knows about it, since my trivial problems are not their concern. Ranting about that is fine when on a forum, but not when you want to solve a problem.
How hard would it be to say: Please take note of the Site Announcements, and send an e-mail, so that we can help you? (Would leave him a lot more time to do the dishes by hand anyway )

PenelopeT 20th Nov 2016 2:43 PM

@Charity

Just logged into BAS, only to find a great option for those of you who like to play orphanages and do adoptions within a neighborhood http://www.backalleysims.com/adults...option-Centres). Will definitely be trying this out once my simming hiatus is over.

FYI, for those of you who cannot view the page, the cot is just a clone of the Maxis base game crib.

Description:
Orphan Display Cot (For Adoption Centres)
Apartment Life EP or Higher required

This is a mish-mash of a pet display case and the basegame cot, intended to enable make a working orphanage community lot where sims can go and adopt a child.

It will not function at a liveable lot or if the lot has an owned business, it's for adopting not selling kids.
The adoption option is only available to adults that live in a real family that is not already 'Full of Sims'.

Each cot will try to get a baby or toddler from the default orphan family and if there is none then it will create a toddler which will be placed into the orphan family. They will bring a nanny NPC onto the lot so there will always be an adult on the lot capable of looking after the orphans, only one cot will do that regardless of how many you have on the lot.

It does not however address the fact that babies and toddlers can't travel so when your sim leaves the lot the new addition is left behind. If the adopted orphan is a baby then your sim can hand her/him to the nanny who will walk the child off the lot, otherwise it may look better to put the kid back into the cot before leaving. When your sim arrives home the new addition will be near the letter box (for the neighbourhood dogs to wizz on), that's default game behaviour and there's nothing this can do about that.

This comes in four colours, the default colour shown below is so you can easily distinguish it from the default cot in the catalogue. The default pink, blue and lemon colours are also available. Even though I could have used the default basegame mesh I've chosen to give it it's own mesh because the UV mapping on the frame of the default mesh is so completely messed up most simmers would have a default replacement which may cause a problem.

This can be found in the miscellaneous / miscellaneous part of the catalogue, only in the community buy/build mode.

Note: If you have T&A or A&N do not try to use this at a child care centre, it's not available in the catalogue there anyway. Unlike other non-liveable lots toddlers are never removed from childcare centres when they load so your new family addition would remain in the child care centre next time it loads.

And...there is one more mod. Though family friendly, the mod is in the adult section due to the image Chris used. So, I will not link to it.

Description:
Ask About Family (menu plugin)
A simple 'Ask.../About Family' sim menu plugin

Surprisingly useful in larger 'hoods, the result will depend on if the sim lives in a real family, has parents etc. The image below show three possible results.

Should be OK in every EP configuration, although Bon Voyage is the minimum to glean the full address of the sim's family.

SIMposiast 20th Nov 2016 10:14 PM

Ooh, that new Ask... interaction! Shiny! Do want. Thank you, PenelopeT.

12-24 hours. Not terribly long to wait. XD

Thanks, I'll take a look and add links to the front page once maintenance is over.
