Thankyou for the heads up.
I already started moving things into the proper catagories. I had Road Signs in my Wardrobe section and huge Oil Tanks in Livingroom...lol This is great. |
Many thanks for letting us in on this! Just what I needed.
|
Excellent - thank you!
|
I am downloading this, I have a ton of files with no mesh and meshes with no recolors. Some stuff dates back to the dawn of the sims2... I hope this will work.
Thanks for the heads up... |
with the new version you can make objects from expansions packs work in only the sims 2 or any expansion pack you want.
|
There is no single package file appearing in sims2 categorizer's mainwindow, any idea why? please
|
Please HELP!! just nothing shows up in sims2 categorizer :-(
What I did is to run the game and click through every object in BUY mode, then I run Sims 2 categorizer, still nothing there in the main window..... Do I need to move everything from xxx\downloads\subfolders and put them directly under "Downloads" folder? BTW, I have the non-install version of Sims2 categorizer and put it just under the "downloads"..... What should I do??!! |
Paladin's Place has a support forum here, you might have better luck looking for help there.
|
I haven't been able to connect to that for several days now. Is it working for you?
|
The forum? Yup, it seems to be working just fine.
|
I have actually tried everything they said in Paladin's Place forum to sort the problem, it is just still not showing any obj! Do I need to reinstall my base game and EPs?
Just anyone had experienced similar problem? how did you this? |
Just something to note, there seems to be a number of problems posted with objects not showing up (which is also happening to me) and there's no reply to the posts. Wish the tool were more reliable because I could really use this to keep all my stuff in order.

Hi there !...i just run my sims2categorizer...i had to click on Downloads, for the objects to show.
But tell me...is there a way to see what expansionPack is needed for an object to work ? In simcategorizer, for sims one, you had it in bright colors, just under the object image. Thank you Tornado ! but before i categorize any objects to fit my ep, i would need to know...wich one to categorize...wich one cause my game to crash, when loading. I would appreciate some help please. Thank you, Rosemary |
okay...well don't you bother answering...LOL
now, everytime i download stuff, i extract each and every one in separate folder...then i put them all at once in my game...if it crashes, then i take them all out, then i put like 5 at a time....going narrow and narrow...i always find the suspicious one...lol Thank you, Rosemary |
Excellent Been looking for something like this :D

I have the same problem -- I discovered that the quickest way to cope was to view the content directories in the details view, sort by date, and pull out all the .bak files (which were created by the Categorizer) and anything with a modification date on or later than the day I did the categorizing. Then I can go through only the files that were modified, and when I find the broken ones, I can restore them from their .bak file. I'm pretty sure, from my messing with this last night, that the issue is with files that were moved from one download subdirectory to another using the Categorizer. Recategorizing works fine, but actually moving the file does something wonky. I'll inquire on the support board and see if I can get any info on it. UPDATE: I figured out what the problem is in the process of fixing the broken files -- when an object has multiple OBJD entries, Categorizer is changing only one of them. To resolve the problem, open the object in SimPE, view the Object Data, and make sure all the OBJD entries are set to the same categories. Once they've been saved in SimPE, they're fine. I've reported the issue over at simwardrobe.com, so hopefully it won't be too difficult to fix in the next version. |
can someone help me please?
i have recatogorised 64 pages of objects (like bags of cement that were in sculptures) and then saved afterwards, but when i go back into sims 2, they are still in the wrong categories! am i missing something? |
This is getting ridiculous now.
Are there any other programs that will recategorize stuff? its going to take weeks to put everything into collections... |
Did you save each individual item? I have no problem recategorizing using this program, although I have come across one or two items which cause crashes whenever I edit them.
|
i initially changed the values and categories for 64 pages worth of items, and on each subsequent occasion such as reinstalling the program, clearing my accessories cache and stuff i have re-saved three or four which should be easy to spot (helicopter into vehicles, popcorn machine from sculptures into party etc.) but to no avail.
i even have the vista fix installed to the best of my knowledge, although the instructions for it were pretty sketchy. |
Sorry- what I meant was, in the categorizer program did you save each item after you modified it? You need to save the changes you made before moving onto the next item. Also, are you changing the category in build/ buy mode as well as in Room mode?
