Um sounds great and so tempting...
How many pics per rounds will be required?
Are writing skills required? Will we have confessional questions?

There won't be writing skills really but a good imagination and ability to explain your pics is good and will come in handy. There will be confessionals but not for every round. Of 6 rounds ,3-4 rounds will require a confessional.

Pics per round:
Round 1: 2 pics &confessional
Round 2: 2 pics & confessional
Round 3: 2 pics; no confessional
Round 4: 2 pics; no confessional
Round 5: 3 pics & confessional one is only another headshot with specific instructions.
Round 6: 5 pics, all runway, you don't have to change the scene of the runway unless you want.;
confessional question undecided at this point.

Each round has the type of clothing you'll need to be wearing in the title of the Round.

Name: Chanelle Dalton
Age: 24
Height: 5'7
Weight: 172
Location: San Antonio, Texas
Hobbies/Favorite pastimes: Designing clothes and reading a good horror story!
Short Bio: Well I'm a Texas gal born and raised. Everything is BIGGER & BETTER in Texas!! Remember that y'all. Everyone perceives Texas and the South in general with an EXTREMELY negative image of hillbillies and kissin cousins, and low IQ's. Our fashion sense supposedly consists of plaid & flowered dresses. This couldn't be further from the truth!! I am a model. Have been for quite sometime. I've got loads of fashion sense. In fact I'm in my 3rd year at UTSA (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/University_of_Texas_at_San_Antonio) taking fashion design classes. So basically I'm in this contest to win it and to PROVE that the South is not full of your basic southern stereotype. Also I'm here to show that being plus sized is a gift, not a curse!

Pics coming soon:

Age: 26
Height: 5'5"
Weight: 210
Location: San Diego, California
Hobbies/Favorite Pasttimes: Cooking, spending time with my husband and children, Painting, and Writing.
Short Bio: My mother was a single parent taking care of 4 children after my father passed away. We always ate out while Mom was working, and that contributed to my "weight problem" as my Mom calls it. I was the only one smart enough to get a scholarship to college, and thats where I met Robert. It truely was love at first sight, and Robert saw past my weight. We got married the day after Graduation, and we've brought 3 children into the world, Twins Joe and Liann who are 7 and Cassidy who is 2 and a half. My family is my world.

Like I said, My family is my world, and I love spending time with them.

Footballer it'll be fun, and I've seen your contest entries so don't even try it lol. Yeah there are lots of prizes and even more to come, best thing is everyone that enters will at least get the entry prize whether they advance or not, and the 1st place winner takes all :D

12th May 2007, 5:38 AM
Prize for entering? Plus-sized models? Sounds excellent!

By the way, what's your definition of plus-size? I'm probably putting way too much thought into the height/weight section but, like, I used to wear a size 16 which I've seen in plus-sized shops and the BMI lists my top weight as being overweight, but a lot of people don't think I look fat at all...

In stores that I shop in sizes 12 and up are sold lol. I think Maxis fat maybe about a size 12 so that size or bigger is eligible for the contest. :) I hope to see your sim soon. :anime:

Short Bio: I grew up in a small town that always rained alot when I say alot I mean I could practically swim to school, not that I would have since I'm not exactly what you call active. However due to my lack of enthusiasm for physical activities I spent many extra hours hitting the books, which payed off quite well, graduating a year early and getting out of the small town life. So now I'm out to prove that I can make something of myself.

Hobbies: I love cooking, dancing anything fun really.
Short Bio: As a child, I was always made fun of for not being skinny. All the girls were like out of a magizine. As I got older, I wanted to be noticed as a goreous girl. I tried every diet in the book, nothing worked. Now I'm ready for others to see you don't have to be skinny to be great.

Height: 5'6"
Weight: 208

Hobbies/Favorite pastimes: I love to cook! I also love to dance. I am part of the welcoming committee here in Maui, handing out leis and greeting tourists.
Short Bio: I was born in Maui, my mother is a native, and my father is actually from Brooklyn. I am from a culture where being large actually used to be a desirable feat. It meant that you were 'healthy' and were able to bear many 'healthy' children. I don't really worry much about my weight, as long as I am happy and loved by others. That's all that really matters.

Body Show

Favorite Activity I just LOVE a good Luau. It's great to spent that time with all your family and friends, and getting to know all the visitors. Hula dancing is the best part.

There are many meshes and nice outfits available if you need help I'm more than happy to assist :anime:

I tried some of these and they had a real nice ones but, I was unable to find a selection for all clothing catagories using the same body shape.

13th May 2007, 12:33 AM
Essa, you're welcome and please don't worry, your questions aren't stupid.
MzCynnamon, You don't have to use the same meshes throughout the contest but, keep your model size around the same, ie, don't go from a martaxl mesh to maxis standard fat, it just looks off for your sim to be 275 pounds one minute and 180 the next lol. If the problem is finiding nice outfits let me know, as I said I am happy to assist. :anime:

Sorry for being Off Topic but how does the body mesh work?

13th May 2007, 8:24 PM
Sorry for being Off Topic but how does the body mesh work?

Joe a mesh is simply the part that holds texture for an outfit or object,it's the base, without it there'd be nothing. You install a mesh and recolors and you have new skins/clothing and or furniture. I hope this explains lol.

13th May 2007, 8:26 PM

My previous relationship with my ex-boyfriend ended due to me having a still-born daughter. The death of our daughter caused us to fight constantly. Which within several months caused us to break-up. But looking back at all the good times in my life, I can bring up the fact that I audtioned for American Idol made it to hollywood, but dropped out due to an illness in the family. Location Santa Monica, CA

Hobbies I am usually at the beach a few days a week soaking up the hot weather and surfing! I love to play sports including volleyball, swimming, tennis and basketball, as I am very much an oudoorsy girl. I also love to read books. Right now I am in the middle of reading all the Harry Potter series!

Short Bio I was born right here in Santa Monica and have lived here all my life. I graduated at UCLA with a journalism degree when I was 21 and met my husband Ilo at the university. We married months after first meeting each other, and luckily enough, we found a beautiful home and were blessed with our first child Kissa. Since becoming a housewife and raising our wonderful child, who is now five years old, I would love to pursue a modelling career. Although I do love to write and may want to put my degree to use someday, it was more of a back-up in case I needed money when I started modelling. But now I have my gorgeous husband to provide for me and I am ready to start. They have my full support and I would love to make my husband and daughter proud!

Beauty Camp Basics!

Objective #1

In one picture show us how you will prepare for this competition; afterall being on television everyday for millions to see is not easy. You may explain your picture.
This picture can be anything from doing something spiritual or whatever you do to give you that extra boost of confidence during this journey.

Objective #2
You go out to eat with some of your girlfriends as a way to celebrate you making the show; while everyone’s ordering salad with lemon juice as a dressing you order a steak and potato with sour cream and butter. Your friend says, “You really shouldn’t be eating that, TVs add 10 pounds you know? What do you say, how do you react? 1-picture

Confessional Question: Image is everything in Hollywood; how do you think this show will impact America?

Additional Info: This Round ends on May 21st @ 9 pm Central Time.

17th May 2007, 2:55 PM
Do we have to do a picture for the confessional?

By the way this round sounds fun :)

Do we have to do a picture for the confessional?

Here (http://forums.sims2community.com/showpost.php?p=872810&postcount=9) is the breakdown of pics for each round. If you want to include a confessional pic in rounds that don't require it you can but keep in mind it will not go towards your scoring.

17th May 2007, 5:25 PM
Objective #1

There's only one way for me to free my mind from what goes on in the world and thats to mediatate. A state of relaxed concentration on the reality of the present moment that is experienced when the mind dissolves and is free of all thoughts

Objective #2
First off I'm shocked my girlfriend would even mention this to me. I didn't get to be this size by eating rice cakes and drinking diet soda. I just calmy told her that 10 lbs would'nt look bad on me it might even do me justice.

Confessional Question

I think this would have a big impact on America especially all the plus size woman out there. This could be the motivation they need to be strong and prove to them not everyone in hollywood is thin. Were big and bold and were doing BIG things. You don't have to be small to be noticed it's all about how you carry and represent yourself as a person. I believe this will give alot of them self confidence and let them know there not alone.

Chloe dosent really have any 'girlfriends' other than her daughters, so I hope this is okay. She dosent leave the house much, well at all really. If I need to change this, I will.
Round One:
My way of preparing for this competition might be a bit different then most. I spent as much time with my children as possible. They calm and center me, and make me feel worth it. I'd spend every second of every day with them if I could, and I will miss them terribly when the competition starts, so I want to make every day worth it until I go.

My last meal before I go is one that I love and that I spend an hour cooking- Sloppy Joes. Robert got onto me about it though. "Why did you make this crap? The camera adds 10 pounds as is, and then your going to stuff your face with about 450 calories? I thought you were making salad or something healthy, not this!" Of course, this upset me. How could he go and say something about the food that I slaved over the stove to cook for him and our children. Needless to say, I got a little mean. "Robert. I am a proud full-figured woman, and I can eat whatever I please whenever I want to eat it. I tried making something delicious for our last meal together for awhile, so that we could spend our last night together as a family. If your that offended by the way I look, well then you can leave. Because Im happy with how I look, and If your worried about me getting bigger, thats your problem. Because I love my curves, and it shouldnt be a big deal." He was quiet and ate after that.

Confessional Question:
Image is everything in Hollywood; how do you think this show will impact America?
I hope that this show will impact America for the better. Not everyone can say that they are big and proud, but I know I can, and I hope everyone can take that to heart. You dont have to be a skinny girl to be a pretty girl, or be proud of who you are, and people should know that. Just because we're big dosent mean we dont have feelings, and Im hoping this show tells people that.

17th May 2007, 9:07 PM
Hi guys, this is my entry!

When I get nervous about this competition I just chill out in my favourite part of my house. It is so comfy in here and I love reading, talking to my friends and generally chilling out:

When my friend suggested I should be eating healthily I almost threw up! For Gods sake, I was just having a nice meal with my friends, why should I eat healthily??

Image is everything in Hollywood; how do you think this show will impact America?

I hope it will show you do not have to be skinny to be cool and beautiful. I love my figure and all these girls in this competition are beautiful and gorgeous, power to us fatties!

17th May 2007, 10:37 PM
I've been lurking and the entries look GREAT! Awesome work, all.

Nayan Rose, hey, if you peek in here...your PM box is full :-)

17th May 2007, 10:44 PM
How I prepare:

Some people may find it silly that I prepare for a Plus Size contest by exercising, that I might be unsatisfied with my weight, but that's untrue. I exercise because I love myself. It makes me feel good, it relaxes me. When I'm working out, it is the best time for me to just think things over, and evaluate my life. Being that I cook so much, exercising helps me keep my weight as it is.

Night out on the Town

Well, the girls and I wanted to spend a great night together, to celebrate having my application accepted. Just then Barbara mentions that television adds 10 pounds. I thought about eating a salad instead, but then I laughed and said "If the camera adds ten pounds, then that would be perfect. This is a plus size competition, so maybe it will help my chances of winning!"

Image is everything. Yes, that is true, but confidence in your image, no matter how you look, it automatically makes your image desirable to others. Look at Jennifer Hudson. She's not skinny, but she is confident and radiant. People want to BE her. Under the eyes of Hollywood, with my high self esteem, people will want to BE me, I believe. Twig is last season. Full figure is in, it's just that the public doesn't know about it yet. But once this show hits full swing, people WILL know. They will know that you don't have to starve yourself, or be a size 6 or smaller, for people to recognize your talent. This show is going to pave the way for all full figure models, actresses, and singers to get the proper respect and recognition that they deserve.

Do we have to do a picture for the confessional?

By the way this round sounds fun :)

No Tosh you don't have to have a confessional pic but you can if you want. Everyone your entries are looking great :D!

Maxis Fat people: Please, please, please, make sure that any meshes that you're using have a fat state.

18th May 2007, 2:20 AM
Objective 1
Me and My sister went shopping! Okay, i know its cliche' cause i'm a girl and all, but come on...
Shopping does wonders for my self esteem and gets my blood pumping, and I never say no to a little
extra self esteem! I also went to the spa and hair stylist! It was a wonderful treat that I was able
to share with my sister because the producers said I may not be able to see her again until the end of the competition!

Objective 2
As a celebration, I invited a few friends over for dinner to announce that I'd been chosen to compete
in the B.I.G. Break Competition. As we sat down with our steaks, zuccini and potato's I revealed the news!
I got a round of congratulations, then Stephanie spoke up.
"Wow! Congrats Tempe!" She smiled. "I guess tomorrow you'll start eating salads so you can lose weight,
since the tv adds 10 pounds and all." I stared at my friend for a split second, then in a mocking tone,
replied, "OH NO! Ten Pounds!" and erupted in laughter. "Yeah right!" I replied, "Me eat a salad!
Did you forget that I said it was a Plus Sized Modelling Competition?
Besides, I'm already fabulous!" I giggled as her face turned red then joined in laughing with me.

Confession: Image is everything in HollyWood; how do you think this show will impact America?

You're right. It is everything. Society has a sick twisted idea or what true beauty is. I think America needs this show. People need to see that you don't have to be society's measurements to love yourself. I hope that this show will be a stepping stone in not only the Entertainment Industry, but life in general as well.
(i've also put it in acutal text just in case... ><)

18th May 2007, 8:47 AM

No need to do that BekPek. Just make sure that we can see that your sim is indeed fat in future rounds :)

Beauty Camp Basics!

Objective #1

http://img181.imageshack.us/img181/7306/forumbathtoomyh8.png (http://imageshack.us)

Well as you already knew from my application i am a singer. To warm up for television i actually sing to relieve tension, it clears my voice and for me it produces natural endorphins to make me feel happy. I tend to do this in the bathroom because it echos, and that's where my brush is and the mirror!

Objective #2

http://img388.imageshack.us/img388/6674/forumsizerx3.png (http://imageshack.us)

What do you say, how do you react? Well being also one of my cloest friends and knowing they are kind of looking out for me ... i felt a little hurt. I am the biggest girl in the group and have felt like the odd one out often. I fought back words i wanted to say, but i felt dropped my fork and got up and left. My closest friend got up and wanted to follow me out but i am so emotional i didn't actually want them to know how much it hurt me. I was really embarrassed, which never happens to me.

Confessional Question:

Image is everything in Hollywood; how do you think this show will impact America? Hopefully it will do alot of things. Basically showcase that Big is beautiful and hopefully bigger ladies can be more accepted in society. You don't have to be a stick figure to be popular and famous.

19th May 2007, 12:50 AM
I prepared for this competition by bringing out my creative spirit. Nothing is greater than creativity and the drums brings that out of me, and gives me extra confidence i need.

My friends toke me out to dinner to celebrate making the show. They ordered salads but when they saw my steak they freaked out. I toke the comment calmly and said "You aren't the one eating it or the one on the show, so it doesn't really matter to you." hopefully it didn't sound to stuck-up.

I think this show will impact America because it show that not everyone is a size 2. Beauty can come from within.

I hope this is what you wanted if not i can change it

I quit as a judge. These entries are great and I don't want the headache of judging.

19th May 2007, 8:47 PM
I'll have my final picture up soon... i promise! I've been busy! :D

19th May 2007, 9:04 PM
Objective #1

Well, unlike other girls in this show, I won't be spending the free time I have remaining before we start drinking lavish champagne and getting some retail therapy. No, no. How I'm going to prepare? I will be spending all my time cleaning house and doing the laundry! Lord knows how messy this place will get when I'm gone. Looking on the bright side, cleaning does have a therapeutic affect on me. It takes my focus off my worries and stress, so, although cleaning may be a chore, it is also my way of relaxing... in a weird way!

Objective #2

When I found out that I was in the show, I was thrilled! Of course what does one do first but call up her girlies? So I arranged for the four of us to meet at the Beach Gelato Bar, our favourite hangout. After having my main course - steak and potato with sour cream and butter - I ordered some desert. Already my stickly friends were curious about my eating habits and as I was about to take a scoop from my delicious sundae, Sun remarked, "Oh you know, I'd be easy on the treats Ally... TV does add 10 pounds to your waist." She and Angelina laughed a little, whereas Kit and I were disheartened to say the least... it wasn't necessarily the comment that upset me, but the manner in which it was said. It was hurtful. Sun was an ambitious model herself though, so I suppose I should have seen that remark coming. I'll admit when I arrived home soon after I hit the treadmill for a full hour.

Confessional Question

Image is everything in Hollywood; how do you think this show will impact America?

Tell me about it. In all honesty, even I am critical of other people's appearances. I guess it is the way we are all raised, with images constantly being engrained into our minds that 'thin is beautiful'. I hope that this show will have some sort of positive impact on the younger generation - teenagers especially. They are the ones who will shape the universal image of beauty in the future and the sooner they realise that you don't have to be stick-thin to be beautiful, the sooner we can get over this dreaded obsession.

How do you prepare?

I shop. Trying on clothes and buying something that I look good in makes me feel more confident. I don’t go “shopping” necessarily to buy something, I like to window-shop too. I've got enough clothes anyway, and I'm broke too.

Eating steak?

http://i135.photobucket.com/albums/q155/Sizzan/Keppni/mAGGIEANDFRIENDS2.jpg (http://i135.photobucket.com/albums/q155/Sizzan/Keppni/mAGGIEANDFRIENDS.jpg)

I and my friends went out to have dinner after they found out that I would be in this show.
They all ordered the lemon-juiced salad that they love so much while I ordered a steak with butter and sour cream. Andrea interrupted me when I was about to order some juicy souse to go with it all and reminded me of all my hard work to lose weight. “You really shouldn’t eat something so fattening, you could lose control of your eating habits again. And TV adds 10 ponds, heaven forbid.”
I grimaced, remembering how fat, miserable and unhealthy I had been. I was NOT going to be that 250 kg. whale that couldn’t dress herself without losing her breath again.
I replaced my steak with fruit salad and we proceeded on laughing and chatting the night away.

Image is everything in Hollywood; how do you think this show will impact America?
Sadly, to seriously change the “fat people are worthless and waste of space” and “starving Africans are so fashionable” we need more than one TV show. I still thing this show will help people understand that your outer beauty doesn’t necessarily depend on your kilos.

Nice entry Sizza :)

20th May 2007, 12:07 AM
Is...Is Maggie Noah Sposh's sister? Or is that just a coinkidink?

Either way, I like your round, Sizza :)

20th May 2007, 12:50 AM
Yes, she is. She's not as bad as she seemed, now is she? And thanks.

20th May 2007, 1:50 AM
Sizza, she is very lovely! :)

Is the way i did the confession okay? Would you like me to put it back in text?

Edit: lol! ya think? i'm just glad to see her ALIVE ...lol

20th May 2007, 2:12 AM
Shes actually alot better than Noah made her out to be.
It mustve been him, that bad seed. lol

20th May 2007, 2:58 AM
Uh, well, neither is bad, they just don't like each other.
To not stay compleatly off-topic, I added a confessional pic

20th May 2007, 3:20 AM
do we have to include a confessional picture?

20th May 2007, 6:02 AM
do we have to include a confessional picture?

To answer your question the answer is Nope. Nada. No confessional pic is required. :anime:
Dee that break down you pointed out shows how many pics per round & wether a confessional question will be asked its not stating that a confessional pic is required. ( the way its set up is a lil confusing :einstein sorry bout that guys ) Only 2 pics are required for this round anything above & beyound will not be counted. I hope this clears everything up.

Objective #1

The one thing that I do to prepare myself for any big event in my life is dance baby! It really helps me to ease the tension, have a little fun and shake off the jitters. The song that motivates me to do my best and knock em dead is "Golden" by Jill Scott.
Because thats what i'm doing.
I'm living MY life like it's golden and the world better watch out for me!
This is me shaking my groove thang, motivating myself and working off that extra tension while listening to my girl Jill.

(Click here to watch the video/hear the song) (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DQdmrFrM5lE)

Objective #2

Now, I have this one girlfriend, her name is Tina and I swear this girl..
I think she means well, but she's a little TOO conscious about what I eat.
You see, I have two really good friends, Angel and Tina. We go out to eat all the time at this little cafe at the edge of town, but its always Tina that has something to say when the menus arrive.

"Girl you know you dont need that steak.."
I'm used to it by now, but this time I was fed up, so I told her:

"Listen Tina, this steak right here has zero carbohydrates, the salad dressing you just poured on that Ceasar Salad is full of carbohydrates and empty calories. And yeah, I just ate that baked potato, and it was damn good too.
You can eat all the salad you want girl, but as long as i'm okay with what i'm eating, you need to be okay with it too.
Okay? Okay."

She didn't have too much to say after that..

Image is everything in Hollywood;
how do you think this show will impact America?

I'm confident that this show will help to minimize the stigmas associated with bigger women. When people can see and appreciate that bigger women are just as, if not more beautiful than their smaller counterparts, then the stigmas get smaller and smaller
This show may also help to minimize those nasty stereotypes
associated with big women.

Any opportunity I can get to break those stigmas down I jump on it. Which is why I entered this competition. America better be ready.

20th May 2007, 11:36 AM
Hi! Sorry for not saying anything before but I've had all my final exams. I've seen all the entries and I'm loving them. Everybody's doing a fantastic job. Good luck to all!

Objective #1

http://i157.photobucket.com/albums/t58/NayanRose/Contest/BIG%20Break%202007/round1/lax1.jpg (http://i157.photobucket.com/albums/t58/NayanRose/Contest/BIG%20Break%202007/round1/lax2.jpg)

To prepare for this competition I absolutely had to relax. To me the best way to do that is in a nice hot bubble bath. The calming scent of lavender filling the room just makes me melt.

http://i157.photobucket.com/albums/t58/NayanRose/Contest/BIG%20Break%202007/round1/eat1.jpg (http://i157.photobucket.com/albums/t58/NayanRose/Contest/BIG%20Break%202007/round1/eat2.jpg)

Some friends and I went out to dinner to celebrate my acceptance for the competition; we went to Chatters the new place in town. Augusta, Lori and Tab all had been there before and had ordered the lemon salad, I ordered the steak… mmmmm I love steak. Tab sat across the table and commented about my eating habits and how the camera will add 10 pounds. I’ll admit I was a bit hurt by her comment; it was the timing of it that got to me. “Why would you say that, why would you bring up weight when it’s such a non issue for me? We’re supposed to be having a fun night enjoying ourselves.” She’s always bringing it up with me because she has lost a lot of weight and thinks everyone who is big is as unhappy as she was.

Image is everything in Hollywood; how do you think this show will impact America? I'd like to think that it would make an impact with the general population but I doubt it will. I know it will show some people that it's ok to love yourself no matter what your size. I also hope it will give a lot of young ladies the confidence to stand up for themselves and to go out and live their lives as they dream of doing.

20th May 2007, 8:43 PM
Objective 1
I'm used to take shower but when I really need to relax I prefer have a good bubble bath, listening to soft music.

Objective 2
You know I don't believe in dieting and have always loved my body at any size. Well if TVs add 10 pounds it must be fine since I'm in a plus sized
competition right. But thanks to you I learn something today and I will be less stupid.

Image is everything in Hollywood; how do you think this show will impact America?
I do hope that this show will impact America in a good way. I think that plus sized models are already part of the fashion industry. This show can
help people to change their opinion. Being "plus" shouldn't be an issue.

post 137? did you mean 136?

Well it was 137 till post above it was deleted which appears to cause the thread to re-do the count .. thanks alot Dee :taekwondo lol :anime:

Im so confused. Wha.... lol
Great entries ladies!

21st May 2007, 4:56 AM
Great entries you guys! Essa, The look on Ebony's face at the dinner table is priceless! I love it LOL

21st May 2007, 5:43 AM
Objective 1-

I prepare by going to church. Singing in the choir calms me. Everyone here is so positive that it gets my spirits up.

Objective 2-

One day my friends and I were hanging out. They both love the salads from Mc Donalds so we stopped by there. When i ordered my Big Mac with large fries and a Coke they looked at me like i had just commited the ulitmate crime. One of them said “You really shouldn’t be eating that, TVs add 10 pounds you know?" I looked at her, laughed and said "And? your point is?" i then turned to the cashier and said "Oh, can i have a mc flurry with that?"

I think this show will impact a lot of people. Image is everything and if people keep seeing these skinny chicks on TV our younger generation is going to be even more messed up than it is now. This a competion, a beauty competition and this show will let America know that BIG is beautiful also.

21st May 2007, 10:42 PM
- Objective 1 -

When I found out I was going to be on the show, I was SO excited! Regrettably, that means leaving people behind at home for a little while. If I do really well it could be weeks before I get back! My boyfriend Michael is a big baby about me leaving for so long, so I decided to spend my last evening just hanging out at his place. Nothing special, just whoopin' his behind in Playstation, and, well, cameras off now, please! :anime:

- Objective 2 -

Earlier that day, my best friend, Ayieta hosted a lunch at her house to celebrate. Unfortunately one of her knucklehead friends, Stacia, had to make an appearance. She's always making comments about my size and she tried to make a smart remark about "sticking to the salad, since the camera's going to add 10 pounds anyways". :steam: I admit I don't have the best temper. If there hadn't been any witnesses, I would have shoved that entire pizza down her throat...box included! Fortunately Ayieta was there to politely ask her to leave, so I didn't have to say much of anything...though I admit to throwing a hamburger patty at her head as she left the premises.

- Confessional -
I think this show will mad entertaining, especially cause I'm on it! :anime: Ok, seriously, this show is gonna be awesome because it will highlight a lot of curvy girls being beautiful and amazing. I can't wait to be a part of it.

22nd May 2007, 12:02 AM
throwin... a hamburger... patty....

<--dying laughing

LOL I officially LOVE her!

22nd May 2007, 2:48 AM
I need a slight extension please. I was just bout to finish up my entry and turn it in but I ran into some problems. It will be in by tonight, just not by 9.

22nd May 2007, 4:32 AM
Round 1 is officially closed :smash: Judging has now started. Good Luck ladies.

Sorry Diamond extenstions had to be requested at least 12 hrs prior to the round ending per the rules.

22nd May 2007, 4:58 AM
Weee! I hope we don't have to wait too long

22nd May 2007, 11:22 AM
Great entries you guys! Essa, The look on Ebony's face at the dinner table is priceless! I love it LOL
Thank you Cin. :)
Eveyone's entry is great. Good luck. :)

22nd May 2007, 6:26 PM
My scores are in. :smash:

22nd May 2007, 7:45 PM
I am waiting on one more judge if I dont hear anything by this evening from that judge I will step in and provide the last set of scores.BUt either way results will be posted & round 2 up by 10 CST

22nd May 2007, 9:38 PM
Good luck everyone, can't wait to see the results

edit: Ok, I'm a very oblivious person but i saw on the first page that people were elimanated in the application round, did you just pm them or did you post results and i was so oblivious i missed them? I guess it doesn't matter to me since i wasn't elimanatied (for the first time) but i was just wondering

22nd May 2007, 9:51 PM
Shelb there were no eliminations for the application round. The people eliminated were those who didn't complete their applications, and that didn't finish round 1. :)

22nd May 2007, 9:52 PM
that makes a lot of sense, like i said, im an oblivious person

23rd May 2007, 1:47 AM

If you have an "*" by your name you that just means you ranked in the lower scores & ran the risk of being sent home this round~ BUT no one was eliminated this round due to us not recieving all entries from the application round & Drop outs from this round. Please be aware that 3 ladies will be leaving us next round.
Ladies please make sure that you are following all directions for each round completely as well as the rules / directions that are for the contest in general please see the very first post for those. Good luck ladies you all move on to Round 2 which I will post shortly.

23rd May 2007, 1:51 AM
Wow those results came in quick! Awesome work judges, hehe.

I love no elimination rounds :valentine It is a shame that people didn't turn their entries in, but oh well. Hope they still watch anyway :) Can't wait for round 2.

23rd May 2007, 1:59 AM

Round 2: Casual Chic (Casual)

Objective #1
You’re in a store that sells nothing in your size, the sales clerk is giggling and whispering to her friend about you, show us how you handle the situation. 2-pictures

Explain your pictures please, doesn’t have to be a lot just tell the viewers what happened.

Confessional Question: What do you think "everyday" people can do to make a difference with body image issues?

Round 2 is due on or before Sunday May 27 th @ 9PM CST

23rd May 2007, 2:08 AM
I'm loving those scores judges, thank you VERY much! Round two sounds great, cant wait to get started!

23rd May 2007, 3:39 AM
Were there any comments about round 1, if there were i would love for them to be pm to me

23rd May 2007, 3:54 AM
As would I

23rd May 2007, 3:54 AM

23rd May 2007, 5:53 AM
As would I

I would love to have mine too please. Thanks. :)

23rd May 2007, 7:18 AM
well im a little disappointed with myself to get one of the lowest scores, i think maybe i didnt follow instructions or something? sorry i havent been myself in the last couple of days. ill try harder next round :(

23rd May 2007, 1:51 PM
Thank you. This next round sounds fun. :anime:

23rd May 2007, 2:05 PM
I find the scoring to be very interesting on how one can score a 11 and then someones else score a 25. Even thou we don't know the scoring rules I'm just curious on the number table thats being used. it's ranging from 1-30 or something? Thats a big gap. this is just something I was thinking about. Good work all the ladies all the entries were nice

23rd May 2007, 2:17 PM
I was thinking that too. It seems, from looking that the max number of points one can get from each judge is 25 making a perfect score a 75. But I'm not sure if its *1* through 25 because the lowest score given from one judge was a 10. The highest being a 25.

Im just guessing though because i'm not used to seeing the actual score cards in contests lol so sorry if i'm way off.

23rd May 2007, 3:35 PM
I hope we'll be allowed to post some sort of comments because I've PM'd two ladies already.

Yes, judging is based on 1 to 25. You've got three judges with three seperate opinions and we're judging based on creativity of the pictures and the quality of the comments that go along with the entry, as well as ability to follow directions. Therefore, if something was photoshopped into the picture, that resulted in points being taken off. The photoshop rules for this contest are on the front page.

As for creative pictures, that consists of detail, creative subject manner, and of course the contestant should always be the main focus of the picture. With the captions and confessional answer, we're not looking for "textbook answers". Your contestant has to stand out and actually be interesting with everything that goes into a contest entry. I hope I could be of some help and I hope the hosts don't think I've overstepped my bounds by typing this. I can understand why you all are curious and want specific answers.

Lastly, I do believe the judges are switching places, so whoever was judge one this round may not be judge one the next round.

23rd May 2007, 3:43 PM
Thanks for that bit of info chynableu

23rd May 2007, 4:21 PM
I am sorry for lack of comments this round ladies. The scores and comments will be posted from round 2 until the contests' end. If you have questions about your score please feel free to pm me.

23rd May 2007, 6:59 PM
Hello ladies,
It appears we have some questions about scoring & comments. First off thanks Angie for stepping in and posting about comments & PM'ing the ladies that requested them.
I didn't Post comments on Round one becuase Angie was the Only judge that provided them with her scores. I ended up having to step inthis round for the last judge so for effeciency sakes I didn't provide comments .. & it wasnt a requirement of the judges to do so ~ But as Jai stated from Round 2 on they will HAVE to provide scores as well as comments. As far as scoring The highest possible as many of you guessed was 25 per judge grand total of 75 pts Each photo was worth 10 pts ( keep in mind that if more then 2 photos are required the max pts for the rd will be higher unless there is no confessional) & your confessional was worth 5pts.. auto deduction of pts came for no name/round listed in title ..auto -2 pts ( this is what angie was referring to being listed on the first page) If anything was photoshopped above & beyound what was listed as acceptable -3 pts all other pts taken off were based on judges discretion of creativity, answers, ability to follow directions, etc.
If you ladies would like me to post the comments provided by Angie I will do so or Angie or myself can PM the comments this round only . Again all future rounds ALL judges will HAVE to provide comments & ALL coments will be POSTED . I hope this clears up any questions or concerns. Good luck ladies on round 2~ I can't wait to see what you all have in store for us.

23rd May 2007, 7:14 PM
well, i hate to be a bother, but do you think i could get my comment as well? I hate to be any trouble, but if you dont' mind :)

Edit: That was fast! thanks :)

Sorry I didn't get mine yet. :(

And sorry for not leaving any comments. I don't particularly like giving them, but I would have just didn't have time as I had somewhere to go yesterday and just got back. So sorry.

I'd like my comments as well, please. :)

And sorry for not leaving any comments. I don't particularly like giving them, but I would have just didn't have time as I had somewhere to go yesterday and just got back. So sorry.

Life is totally understandable ;) I think most people will agree with me when I say that most of us like comments for one of two or both reasons, 1) it gives us an idea of what the judges are looking for/what we need to work on, and 2) it makes us feel good to get good comments and keeps are spirits up through the contest. I understand about not liking to give them though, I've judged many times and never like to sound to critical, i feel bad. :(

24th May 2007, 2:07 PM
After getting through the first round, I decided to celebrate by going shopping, one of my favourite past times!

I ended up in a snooty small boutique that I hadn't seen before. As I was looking round I noticed that all of the clothes were about 2 sizes too small. Just as I noticed this I heard whispering and giggling behind me. I turned round and it was two sales attendents being incredibly rude about my size.

As I turned round they were silent but as I turned back they were laughing hysterically. My face turned red and I was so embarrassed.

I was going to run out of the store but I thought "No!" this behaviour was not fair. I was the model here not them! I turned round and shouted:

" Who the hell do you think you are? Just because you are disgustingly thin does not mean you can laugh at me!!!"

I went on at them for about 5 minutes, I must have looked like a mad woman. But neither of them cared. One of them even pointed and laughed at me.

I left the store fuming!

What do you think "everyday" people can do to make a difference with body image issues?

I think people need to be more accepting. People seem to think that I hate my body and that I want to be thin. We all need to love eachother more and not worry about how big or small we are.

24th May 2007, 3:19 PM
The girls in the clothing store that I decided to go in werent very helpful. I asked them if they had any clothes in a size 16, and they wouldnt even answer me. Needless to say, I had to go looking myself. When my back had turned, they started laughing about the "Fat girl wearing Horizontal stripes that made her look like a whale," and things of that nature. Within 5 minutes of hearing them talking, I finally had enough. I went over to talk to the snobby little brats.

"EXCUSE YOU LADIES! You have no right to say anything about me at my weight. Im proud of my weight, and if you dont like it, dont look at me! Im sorry Im not as skinny as you little girls, but you have to get over it. Not every lady in America is a size 4. And thats something you all have to accept. Now, since there isnt any good service in this store, I will take my business elsewhere." And thats what I did.

What do you think "everyday" people can do to make a difference with body image issues?
They could be alot more accepting. If we're happy with our size, why give us a hard time? Just because we're big dosent mean anything. Big people are people too! :)

24th May 2007, 3:26 PM
Life is totally understandable ;) I think most people will agree with me when I say that most of us like comments for one of two or both reasons, 1) it gives us an idea of what the judges are looking for/what we need to work on, and 2) it makes us feel good to get good comments and keeps are spirits up through the contest. I second that. :)
Shelby and bekpek, nice entries.
I may start working on mine tomorrow. ;)

24th May 2007, 4:04 PM
Shelb and bekpek, I love those storylines! Especially Chloe with her horizontal stripes. Very realistic reaction to that.

24th May 2007, 6:53 PM
I agree, Angie, great stories ladies. I can't wait to see what the other ladies have in store.

24th May 2007, 7:04 PM
Well one of my friends had directed me to a clothing store and told me that they got some really cool stuff from. I guess they didnt actually mean to embarrass me by me flipping through clothes and finding nothing that was my size. Whilst looking i heard some mumbling and soft giggles. I saw a mirror and saw the reflection of one of the sales assistants making fun of me. I have a temper but am rarely confronting but i decided to say to her, "What's your problem," She came out to serve me but instead she made me feel rather unwelcome.

http://img484.imageshack.us/img484/5717/pic1tu4.png (http://imageshack.us)

http://img452.imageshack.us/img452/6434/pic2xj4.png (http://imageshack.us)

I turned to leave and i heard some harder laughing and some nasty names that were completely un called for! I walked over to the brown haired assistant and belted her over the head with my bag. I was bigger than her and i wasn;t scared of her either and she was shocked to her system, as i walked out of the store. I will never go there ever again!

Confessional Question: What do you think "everyday" people can do to make a difference with body image issues? I think when you actually know someone big it's easier to accept it, because they wouldn't do it to their own loved ones. But if everyone thought of bigger girls as normal there would never be a problem. Sometimes i think its none of their buisness what i eat, how i look ... as long as i am happy with myself. Also i think bigger people would be more accepted if you seen more larger actors, models, and celebrities etc ... because usually these are the people who influence us.

After barely passing through the first round, I knew I needed a new wardrobe. I went to the local but high casual fashion boutique. The workers there were the skinniest people i've ever seen. One came up to me when i entered, turned her nose and said "we don't carry clothes 'your' size." A little heartbroken i went to a rack to look and see if maybe they did have something my size. But i slipped and as I was falling I saw 2 salewomen laughing behind the counter.. at me.
After that, I was totally embarrassed and just wanted to go home. I didn't want to look helpless, so I desided to take my business else where. Don't worry though, I politely told them I didn't need there store, and I was on a show.

What can everday people do to make a difference on body image issues? Everydad people can make a difference by caring. They shouldn't judge people by there size, but if they think others size will cause that person's health, they should speak up.

Hope it's good, I spent a lot of time on it, hope i improved from last round and did good enough to pass through this round

Objective #1

Ok so i go into this really sheek store. I knew i couldnt fit nothing in this store but hey, i wanted to look anyways. Well i'm walking around and i look in the mirror and two sales associates are laughing at me. I even heard them say "There's no size 18 here". I was heated to say the least.

So i go and approach Ms. Size 2 and Ms. Size 4 about the things i heard. You know these chicks had the audacity to admit that they said those things. Well, i know it was so un lady like of me but i punched that skank right in her face. So Ms. Size 2 gets an attitude and throws me out HAHA. So what, i thought it was hilarious. You guys should have seen the way her lip was swelling.

What do you think "everyday" people can do to make a difference with body image issues?

Well I think if we want "everyday" people to make a difference with body images we as big women need to accept and love the way we are. How can we expect anyone to help us in our struggle if we dont help ourselves. But a few ways we all can make a difference is boycotting stores like the one i went into. Why promote a store that ony sells clothes up to size 6? I think all stores should carry all sizes. There is absolutely no reason why i can only go to Lane Bryant or Ashley Stewart for clothes. I mean, why cant i go to Dr. Jays and get the same clothes? I think small steps like that would make some type of difference.

-Task One-

I have never gone shopping in LA before, but I heard that they have fabulous fashion, so when I arrived, the first thing I did was hit the shops. I was so excited. I browsed through a few stores, but nothing seemed to be above a size 5. I'm a size 14, so this was a little disheartening. Everything was so cute, but apparently there is no such thing as a plus size woman in LA, or else you would think they would have my size, right? As I was getting ready to head back to the hotel, I tried one last store. Well, let's just say that the attendants weren't very hospitable. The ignored me when I walked in, and when I walked over to the bikini section, I overheard them exchanging some very rude words about me. I'm not a confrontational person, but I really didn't like their words.

I found a cute pair of shoes, and walked up to the counter to pay. I wasn't going to say anything, but then I noticed the girl's lunches sitting there. Salad, with no dressing. How sad. "Oh, I see you are eating salad. I just had lunch myself. I ate across the street at this great little Bistro and had some fabulous Chicago style meat lovers pizza. It was the best pizza I've had in years, with extra mozzarella cheese and garlic buttered crust. You two should definitely try it sometime." And then I paid and just left them there. They seemed to have been enticed by the sound of 'real' food. It looked like they were just imagining the pizza in front of them, and I hope they give up their little 'salad and then starvation' diet and get some meat on their bones.

What do you think "everyday" people can do to make a difference with body image issues?

Everyday people are the most important people to make a difference in body image. If they start to refuse all these 'Get Skinny Quick' scams, and stop taking those unhealthy diet pills, then the market will finally get that we are OK with being us. They will stop forcing this disgusting message of 'You want to be a size 2 of you aren't beautiful,' and finally embrace the fact that if they are wanting to sell their items, they are going to have to market them to us Plus size people. Everyday people who have a little extra 'meat on their bones,' if they just show the world that they are confident in themselves, and that they are loving themselves, then all the twigs will want to be you, want a little more curves, and want to be a little healthier than starving themselves.

25th May 2007, 7:01 PM
I read in a magazine that Bella's Secret was going to be adding additional sizes to their bras, all the way up to 40 DDD. Well, I won't tell you MY size but I had to go check it out. I set off to the store to see if I could find my size. Now i'm used to the looks I get from people, you know the look. The look that says "Oh my God she's gonna eat us"!!!! Usually I just keep walking, put a little bit more hip movement in my step and hold my head up. Envy is a form of flattery ya know? After perusing the bra section for a bit, I didnt notice anything in my size, but what I did notice was two women employees pointing and giggling behind my back....

It was already frustrating that my size wasn't availiable, and to make matters worse, tweedle dee and tweedle dumb over there had the nerve to talk about me..

Now i'm not a physically violent person, but I AM a verbally violent person
So, I told them like this:

"Listen here Paris and Nicole.. I am a CUSTOMER and a human being like everyone else. Do you realize how unbelievably rude it is to make fun of people? God forbid anyone should laugh at that chipped tooth in your mouth.. yeah I see it. Bella's salary wont cover dental expenses my dear? And you over there, how would you feel if I sat here and laughed at the fact that your nose resembles a tuba? Now I know you were teased about that in school, which is probably why you feel the need to make fun of others as an adult. Am I hitting a nerve? Why are you two so quiet? I came in here to see if the new sizes were availiable, not to be ridiuculed and laughed at.."

"... I'm taking my business elsewhere, in the future, use the brain you were born with and think about the feelings of others the next time you find yourself pointing and laughing at another human being..."

I left the store so incredibly disgusted. These girls were the representation of society and I lashed out at them because of it. But you know what? They had it coming...

What do you think everyday people can do
to make a difference with body image issues?

People with children should teach their children to love and cherish their bodies no matter what the size. And to appreciate the differences in all human beings. I mention children because our generation has been so absorbed with body image issues because of images in the media and elsewhere that the best hope for change is to start with the next generation. If we can stop playing in to stereotypes and learn to love and appreciate the differences among us, change will soon come.

OMG These entrie are very nice! I am really enjoying all of them. Additionally I'd like to say that I haven't heard anything from judge #3/MartyK and I will be replacing her/him in the future rounds unless someone else pm's me and wants the spot.

25th May 2007, 11:20 PM
Everyone's entries look fabulous, although there have been a couple who have used some of my ideas but that goes with the territory. I'm loving all of them. :anime:
I'll be working on mine tonight and tomorrow so I will get it in. :)

On my way home from work, I always pass by this store that’s brand new. I was curious to see what they had so I went in to check it out. This store only had size 14 and below! Come on! Who fits into that except skin and bones people? But I continued to browse; they DID have some pretty neat-looking clothes. Just then, I heard giggles. I glanced at the clerks and sure, it was them, mocking me for being fat, and apparently, my fashion sense is worse than a hobo’s.

http://i135.photobucket.com/albums/q155/Sizzan/Keppni/Maggiepota2.png (http://i135.photobucket.com/albums/q155/Sizzan/Keppni/Maggiepota.jpg)

I HATE it when people laugh at me!
I know from experience that yelling and throwing a fit won’t work, so I tried something a little different. I calmly walk to the redheaded b*tch, told her “You know, there’s one good thing about being fat. When people poke you in the chest, it won’t hurt” and poked my finger between her ribs, as hard as I could and as deep as I could. The bi*tch wailed in pain with her high-pitched voice and her friend yelled at me. When I was sure that someone saw me poke her (and thus noticing how disgustingly skinny she was), I walked out of the store, my head up high and my hips swinging. Breaking my nail never felt so good!

http://i135.photobucket.com/albums/q155/Sizzan/Keppni/Maggiegoofballconfessional2.png (http://i135.photobucket.com/albums/q155/Sizzan/Keppni/Maggiegoofballconfessional.png)

What do you think "everyday" people can do to make a difference with body image issues?
By accepting us and the fact that we, indeed, don’t care that we’re fatter than they. It would also help to FORCE them to communicate with us, if they don’t want to on their own, free will. And come on, just because we’re fat, why do people think we can’t be pretty. I mean, do you REALLY think that all those skinny gals are pretty? No? Exactly.

Ladies , ladies I am so glad to see ya'll have stepped it up a notch for this round. These entires are looking great & your storylines are excellent. Keep it up.

26th May 2007, 8:15 AM
A new store called Trendy, opened the other day in my home town. I'd been anxiously awaiting
it and went the first chance i got! However, when I started looking around, I realized there was
nothing in there over a size 12 and was feeling rather embarressed. I turned around to leave but
stopped dead in my tracks when I first heard giggling, followed by "I told you that fattie wouldn't stay long!"
To say i was mad was an understatement. I twirled around before I could even think it through!
"Excuse me? If you have something to say, you can say it to my face!" At first the ladies looked
a little shocked, but I obviously ruffled the blonde's feathers cause she actually said it! "I was
just saying that there is no way you could fit in any of the clothes here." She finished and looked
pleased with herself, too bad I was fixing to take that away from her!

"Listen here you self-obsorbed twig, just because you don't like who you are, doesn't mean I don't
like who I am, so you can take your attitude and eat it, then go throw it up just like you do
everything else you eat! What's your problem with people bigger than a size 12? Fat kids pick
on you in school? Oh! or maybe a fat girl stole your boyfriend! Either way I don't care, You're
district manager will be hearing from me, and next time I come in here, I can gaurentee you this place
WILL have my size and you WON'T have this job! Just cause I don't look like you doesn't mean I'm not
human and have feelings! You need to learn to treat people with respect, cause you're looks ain't
gonna last forever and when your old, chubby and alone, you're gonna have to realize it's be cause
you were a [email protected] and no one really ever liked you!"

With that I left, my adrinaline pumping and a smile on my face. I realize now that I probably didn't
handle that the BEST way that I should have, but man, the look on those girl's faces were priceless!

Confessional Question: What do you think "everyday" people can do to make a difference with body image issues?

Learn to love yourself, just the way you are. When you achieve a self love and respect without
having to drastically change yourself, you realize the limits you thought you had only exsisted in
your mind and people can tell a big difference in you and they gain a new respect and admiration
for you! You're size is part of what makes you as an individual become unique. Also, learn to
appreciate others for everything they are and offer. The old cliche is really true here."Never judge
a book by its cover, you could be missing a wonderful story!"

Being that i have more time than i realized, I may be replacing one or both pictures. :) Sorry if it seems lengthy, I actually got pretty fired up about the subject and got to say everything I've ever wanted to say when I've been in that situation...

Objective #1

While I was at university - not to mention I was significantly thinner back then - I used to love to shop at my favourite clothing store Josie's. It had everything; shoes, intimates, and casual clothes. Anyway I felt a little nostalgic this weekend and decided to go shopping by myself, take a break from cleaning house and packing. And what better store to visit than my old favourite? So I walked in and had a browse, and to my horror, nothing was my size! I felt so embaressed walking around in that store and seeing the other customers. They reminded me of me when I was thin, and they were all passing filthy looks at me. Then to make matters worse, as I passed by the counter, I could hear the sales clerk laugh at me and whisper to her friend.

I was angry and I felt humiliated. I was the only plus sized woman in that store. And the more I thought about it, the more furious I became. Not only were they all rude to me, they clearly disregarded any size consdered to be "plus size" and looked down upon women like myself. I felt like shouting at the store clerk and her friend - "You guys try having a baby and being a mother you skinny freaks!" - but I restrained. I didn't want to get kicked out and further humiliate myself, so I politely smiled at the store clerk and said, "Bye."

She smiled back, but it was obviously fake, and as I walked out of there I just let go all the anger I felt inside and brushed it off. It was only one store, and I know that I wouldn't be treated with such disrespect elsewhere.

Confessional Question

What do you think "everyday" people can do to make a difference with body image issues?

It depends really. Everybody has their own way of dealing with insecurities and low self-esteem. I find that surrounding myself with the people who love me the most really gives me a confidence boost. When I'm around my hubby I forget all about the pressures of being 'thin' in the modelling industry. I am able to just be myself and let loose. He loves my every curve and bump on my body as well, so I don't feel like I have anything to hide. As well as this, buying clothes which you feel comfortable in also works wonders. When you shop for clothes, don't look at a sleeveless top and say, "Oh, that would show my flabby arms." Buy clothes which flatter your figure, that show off your best assets, and make sure you have a beauty routine. Being plus sized shouldn't restrict you from looking like a goddess!

27th May 2007, 4:53 AM
For the weekend I went down to palm springs for a shopping spree stop over at Miss trendy's to see what I can find. I'm getting upset because everything in here is a size 5 when suddenly I hear giggling behind me.

I turn around and ask whats so funny the sales person just says may I offer my assitance to you. I said yes do you have this shirt in a x-tra large. She says that shirt isn't very becoming of you . I say what do you suggest? That trick said something in the shade of black I hear it makes you big people look slimmer and you may also want to try shopping at ashley stewarts that store caters to people like me!

People like mmmmmmmme! What the beep. before I knew I reached back like a pimp and slaped the beep. This was so out of my character but, I was upset and shocked she said that to me. I felt bad about the situation so after calming myself down I went back and apologized to her and simply stated that I am a better woman that she is. I was blessed with my heavenly body and not ashamed of my curves. Don't no man want a bone but, a Dog and have a nice day.

Confessional Question: What do you think "everyday" people can do to make a difference with body image issues?
Never judge a book by its cover. Some people are big not by choice they may have thyroids or something. People need to be more open minded and sensitive. Being big may not always be healthy but, neither is being real thin. We all are people and we all are different and thats what makes us unique. I also blame hollywood they make it seems you have to be thin to be a model or simply famous. People need to understand having three and four babies plus being in your thirties and getting your high school figure back isn't that simple. Besides if I wasn't for big people alot of thin people wouldn't have there jobs. Like the skinny lady working behind the desk at the gym or the thin lady behind the register at the ice cream shop. Understand we all are created equal but we all are different.

27th May 2007, 2:58 PM

One day I was window shopping when I saw this expansive but nice white dress. I promised myself to buy it later when I get my next paycheck.
A few weeks later I got in the clothing store looking for the dress. Unfortunately I couldn't find it in my size and felt a bit disappointed.
As I was looking around I noticed first that there was nothing in my size here and second that two saleswomen were giggling and whispering each other about me.
I angrily glanced at them but they didn't stop.

I'm not the nicest person on earth and also have quite a fiery temper but I don't like to fight though.
I just threw a tantrum using some bad words. I wasn't sure it was the best thing to do but I didn't want to discuss.

Confessional Question:
What do you think "everyday" people can do to make a difference with body image issues?

I think that "everyday" people should be more tolerant and look for more information about body image issues.
They should stop judging people by their appareance and stop trusting the media which promote thinness as an ideal.
Being fat doesn't mean unhealthy since one can be healthy at any size.

27th May 2007, 9:48 PM
I was walking down a lane where they have all these fancy specialty shops. I saw one that looked like it had the style of clothing that I was looking for but as soon as I walked in I could tell I was in for some "fun". Two of the sales clerks were giggling and trying hard to discretely point at me. I'm used to it and I don't let it bother me anymore... in fact I've learned to have fun with them... so I just ignored them and went on looking at the clothes. I know in places like this the clerks get a commission for each sale so they will do almost anything if they think they’ll get one. I found this really cute dress that I would have loved to have had... I went up to the counter and one of the girls made the comment that I really hate hearing "I'm sorry ma’am; we only carry up to a size 12 here." "I know," I replied "I'm looking for something for a close friend of mine... in fact I think Bebe's about your size, would you mind trying this on for me so I can see how it sits on?" I said with a sincere smile.

http://i157.photobucket.com/albums/t58/NayanRose/Contest/BIG%20Break%202007/round2/ask1.jpg (http://i157.photobucket.com/albums/t58/NayanRose/Contest/BIG%20Break%202007/round2/ask2.jpg)

She was more than happy to try it on... hoping for the commission on a dress like that

http://i157.photobucket.com/albums/t58/NayanRose/Contest/BIG%20Break%202007/round2/humility1.jpg (http://i157.photobucket.com/albums/t58/NayanRose/Contest/BIG%20Break%202007/round2/humility2.jpg)

As soon as she stepped out of the dressing room, I stepped back, rubbed my chin and said, "You know, on second thought, I'm not sure of that dress... it doesn't look quite innocent enough. You see Bebe is the type of friend who accepts me just as I am... she'd probably even accept you even though you're pretty shallow... but then I guess that's the way Great Dane's are. It doesn't matter how you treat a dog they'll still love you." The two girls that were talking about me were so shocked that I said that, but the other sales clerk got a huge charge out of it. Heck... I thought it was funny.

http://i157.photobucket.com/albums/t58/NayanRose/Contest/BIG%20Break%202007/round2/confess1.jpg (http://i157.photobucket.com/albums/t58/NayanRose/Contest/BIG%20Break%202007/round2/confess2.jpg)

What do you think "everyday" people can do to make a difference with body image issues? I think more people accept women of larger size than is led on to believe. I mean... more people accept us when they're in a smaller group or by themselves. I say if more people didn't let what they "think" the majority of society believes rule their behaviors instead of following their own beliefs or views then the "everyday" people would be more accepting of any person who is different of themselves no matter what the issue may be.

28th May 2007, 3:03 AM
This round has been extended until Monday night at 9 pm CST. That is a full 24 hours and any missing or incomplete entries are expected to be finished at that time. If all entries are in before 9 the round will end sooner. If you do not intended to continue in the contest at this point please let me know so we can move on. Thanks

28th May 2007, 2:17 PM
You’re in a store that sells nothing in your size, the sales clerk is giggling and whispering to her friend about you, show us how you handle the situation.

I have to admit, one of the reasons I was looking forward to being flown out for the show, is to experience some good shopping! I love going to different places and buying clothes you can only find in out-of-the-way locations.

During an free-choice day I popped my head into a local boutique that looked like it carried items of my style, which it did...but I honestly couldn't find anything over a size -3! I pulled over one of the bobbleheaded clerks who were giggling in the corner. I asked where the larger sizes were...to which she replied "there's a Walmart up the road a bit." Hahahah, aren't kids funny these days? http://www.insimenator.net/images/smilies/punch.gif

Now you all know I don't have the best temper but I was not about to show out on national TV. And I'm better than beating up somebody much younger than me (whether you believe it or not. ) Instead I pulled her lovingly close and whispered in her ear.

"Hey, kid, you see those cameras hanging around outside? They're filming a reality show that I'm in which means you're in it too! Which means the entire world is going to see you acting like a complete punk. Your store is going to get slack for not selling proper sizes and your momma, who's probably 5 sizes larger than me is going to ground you for the rest of your natural teenaged years for being a smart aleck. Smile for the camera!"

I didn't get to buy anything! But I had fun anyways.

Confessional Question
What do you think "everyday" people can do to make a difference with body image issues?
Considering "everyday" women these days are just as big as I am, I think "everyday" women should learn to be comfortable in their own skin! As long as you exercise and don't gorge your face...if that's the size you are, that's the size you're meant to be. Demand that your stores treat you with respect and carry a better selection of larger sizes! As for other, less-curvily blessed women...just keep in mind you can be healthy in every size. There are size-12s that can probably run a mile faster than you. You've got nothing to laugh at. :anime:

Comments From Judges:

Maggie Sposh:

Judge Tola: Even though you aren't being judged on your confessional picture, it may be a good idea not to use the same one each round. The image of Maggie appearing to pick her nose is stuck in my head. :anime:

Judge Aiyana:Nice job. :)

Judge Hailey: You're quick on your feet and super funny.
You come across as being pretty confident but I still feel like your staying a little safe.

Chloe Ruiox:

Judge Tola: Chloe did good. Not great, just good. I think emphasing how people say bigger folks shouldn't wear certain prints put some realism into her entry, which was nice.

Judge Aiyana:Good job. I love how Chloe handled herself.

Judge Hailey: I love how you confronted the girls!

Tempest Long:

Judge Tola: I love Tempest's attitude and how she told that sales clerk off. Very sassy lady.

Judge Aiyana: excellent work this round. Keep it up.

Judge Hailey: You come across as being causal and very real. I love how you stood up for yourself and didn't hold back. Your very confident and this will take you far.

Andrea Thompson:

Judge Tola: I love that you apologized to the sales clerk you slapped. I think your confessional was well thought out and so true.

Judge Aiyana: Good job.

Judge Hailey: You're very cute and to me you look like a baby doll! You have great fashion sense but your not standing out as much as you could. You have a great personality just make sure your pictures compliment that.

Ebony Moss:

Judge Tola: I loved your entry! Ebony handled herself with class and intelligence. Your pictures were also very pretty and creative. I like that you changed it up a bit by making Ebony shop for a bra instead of an outfit. Good job.

Judge Aiyana: Great job. Don't even get me started on "Bella's Secret"...

Judge Hailey: You have it all the confidence, the fashion sense and the personality. Nice work!

Kelly Lorne:

Judge Tola: Kelly is the biggest and one of the prettiest in the contest. I love the twist in her entry and she's the only contestant who thought to report the rude clerks to the manager. Great entry.

Judge Aiyana: Excellent job. lmao @ mcbigguns (sorry)

Judge Hailey: Your the true definition of Big is Beautiful! Your humble, real and you have great fashion sense. I loved how you handled the situation. Very classy!

Rosa Maine:

Judge Tola: This round was much better than the first but I wish Rosa had've shown off more of her personality. She may be too passive and quiet for a Hollywood pageant.

Judge Aiyana: Good job. A closer shot of Rosa in the first pic would have been good. :)

Judge Hailey: You really seem like a sweetheart but you're seem like your lacking confidence. Don't be embarassed to be you, embrace it and love it! This is what this competition is about.

Leilene Andrews:

Judge Tola: It was very clever how Leilene handled the sales clerks. I was dying laughing at how she teased and insulted them about their lunch. You make an excellent point in your confessional. This was a very well thought out entry.

Judge Aiyana: Great job this round. I love how you handled the clerks (wants pizza now).

Judge Hailey: You have the confidence and personality but I don't think your photos compliment your beauty to it's full potential. But you are a pretty girl with a good fashion sense.

Samantha Dickens:

Judge Tola: I'm glad Samantha stood up for bigger people but too bad she still left the store frustrated. Another bummer is that I didn't get a good look at Samantha's pretty face in either of the photos.

Judge Aiyana: Nice job. I loved her reaction in the second pic.

Judge Hailey: Your photos really didn't compliment your beauty and although we know you are beautiful you didn't come across that way.

Bridget Skylar:

Judge Tola: I think your storyline was very clever. Bridget is a beautiful model.

Judge Aiyana: Good job. Loved how you played the sales clerk.

Judge Hailey: Your personality and confidence is priceless. I loved how you handled the situation, it was creative and spunky. Good work.

Ebony Green:

Judge Tola: You make a very good point in your confessional. I'm still waiting on Ebony to do something that really makes her stand out and be memorable.

Judge Aiyana: Good job.

Judge Hailey: Ebony your striking. Your beauty in itself could possibly get you a space in the next round. Your sense of style is great and your outfit really flows. Great job.

Sekoria Chambers:

Judge Tola: Violence in a competition is never a good thing - but every celeb knows any publicity is good publicity, so we'll let this slide. Sekoria seems like a lot of fun and I look forward to seeing what she'll do and say next.

Judge Aiyana: Good job.

Judge Hailey: You're so stunning! On a regular day you look beautiful and I really like that about you. Although violence isn't always the answer, I admit it was pretty funny. Great job.

Jenoveila Novartis:

Judge Tola: I love Jenoveila's confessional and her Crumplebottom impersonation was dead on. Next round, Jenoveila should wear something that really shows off her curves, since this is a plus sized competition.

Judge Aiyana: Great job this round. Your confessional spoke the truth!

Judge Hailey: You are beautiful and spunky! The way you handled the situation wasn't 'the best' but it's understood that your temper got the best of you. Nice work

Iris Deynn:

Judge Tola: Excellent entry. You had detailed pictures and you took the same scenario everyone else used but you were able to think outside the box and still make your version unique from the others.

Judge Aiyana: Good job. Iris shoulda checked the walmart though, they do have some nice things. :)

Judge Hailey: I love your look and your personality. You embrace yourself and although I was expecting you to break a few bones this round, your words worked just as well Great Work.

Alyson Xinavane:

Judge Tola: Alyson showed great resraint by just ignoring the sales clerks and not feeding into their ignorance. Beautiful model and picture

Judge Aiyana: Good job.

Judge Hailey: You are so beautiful and your style really fits your personality. If you keep this up there is no doubt you'll have a shot at the title! However I would have loved if you stuck up for yourself but if thats not you, then thats fine!

Round 3: Sexy Sea Goddess
Objective #1

A magazine photographer sees you on the beach or by the hotel’s pool, spa (whatever as long as there’s water around ;not a bath or shower though) and is looking for full-figured women for the men's magazine company he is working for. He approaches you about doing a calendar shoot. You take some tests shots for the company’s calendar. These pictures should be sexy (but not vulgar) shots of you posing on the beach. Photographer should be present in one shot.

1- of the photographer and you talking/discussing the deal( Be creative, you don’t have to just be standing there talking to him :) )
1 -your sexy Beach/Swimwear Shot

*Objective 2
This is not really a confessional but you will still be scored on it, just think about the round and how you imagine this scenario to go in your head.

What did you and the photographer talk about? Why was he seeking a full figured model? Tell us about the magazine. Describe the current situation, be as detailed as you want, you are on a television show. ;)

*Mini Task, optional*
Make a summer calendar and you will receive an additional 5 points to your total score for completing this picture, you may use photoshop but nothing over the top such as background from sources outside the game. You may include up to 2 other sims on the picture for the calendar. The calendar picture should be something fun and summer like. You may use the sample layout provided here to complete the calendar for this mini task or if you wish to make your own calendar follow the layout below.

Essa I'm pretty sure all the judges are looking for creative, well thought out and interesting entries. My advice to you and anyone else concerned is to think outside the box when doing pics and answering confessionals. Cookie cutter answers and pics will probably be scored lower than something that shows that your sim has a character. Good luck in the rounds to come.

I'm sorry but I am dropping out of this contest. Good luck everyone.

Does there need to be a photo for Objective #2? (and thanks Essa!)

No Cinamun, the 2nd part is the writing part this round. :)

30th May 2007, 5:20 AM
Bet! Thank you. One more question, can the first two pictures have photoshopped backgrounds of beaches? Or does that all have to be in game too?

30th May 2007, 5:30 AM
Bet! Thank you. One more question, can the first two pictures have photoshopped backgrounds of beaches? Or does that all have to be in game too?

Cinamun keep the shots ingame. You don't have to build a beach set yourself, you can use a downloaded one, it won't count against you. Also keep in mind that the shot doesn't necessarily have to be on the beach.

30th May 2007, 5:31 AM
I should have asked that before I took the pictures
Thank you! I'm off to retake the shots (dont worry, i'm VERY slow sometimes)

30th May 2007, 5:39 AM
It's cool Cinamun, can't wait to see your round 3. ATTENTION ladies using Maxis fat. I noticed that some of you were looking a bit frail this past round. Please note that if you are using meshes that don't appear to have a fat state, it probably doesn't have one. Further more, if you're looking anything less than the size of the original maxis fat points will be deducted from your score.

Objective 1

This contest is really intense so i decided to go to the New York and relax. My friends thought it would be a good idea to go to Orchard beach, not that its the cleanest beach but its a little get away from the city's hustle and bustle. As i was laying down trying to catch a tan some guy walks up to me. Dudes are always trying to holla so i didnt even look in his direction, but then he told me he was a photographer and wanted to take my picture.

Talking to photographer-

I thought he was some type of pervert but when he showed me ID and his cameraI assumed it was alright to take the pics.

Sexy beach shot-

Objective 2
When Joe came up to me he told me that i was beautiful. Not that i already did not know lol. But anyways he said that he was intrigued by how comfident i was with my curves and size that he wanted to feature me in the next issue of his magazine. He told me that is boss has been presuring him for something new and fresh and he thought that me being a plus sized model would really help put the magazine over the top.

I agreed because after all we are trying to get through to people that big girls can work the modelling scence just as good if not better than a smaller girl.

I'll try but don't expect too much from the poor french girl. You can't even imagine how much I struggle with the writing part of my entries.
Writing skills are obviously required for this contest, I'm not sure I'm good enough. :smash:

Essa I say write it in french and let us translate! (kidding) but I love french!
je m'appelle angele. Comment t'appelles-tu? (I suck at it)

Great entry Cinnamin, I'm lovin the swimsuit and the guy aint bad on the eyes at all!

30th May 2007, 4:04 PM
Aw I feel terrible now. :)
When I was at school years ago (I'm an old woman now :D) we were taught not to think in french and then translate in english but to directly think in english. I think that's why I struggle. :D

Well let me think about it. I'm glad to see nice people here.

Objective one

I was staying in a gorgeous hotel with the other girls and a rather handsome man approached me...

He said he was a photographer for a magazine and that he was doing a special calander.

He asked if I wanted to do some test shots for him .. I was unsure and I am not that confident about my body to be photographed in a bikini so i pretended to do some exercises .. but he begged me not to as he loved my body as you can see:

He was so pursuasive I agreed to do some shots!

I am really pleased with the outcome!

Objective two

The photographer was really nice and chatty and got me excited about the shoot. When I joked that I didn't like my figure and I would do some exercise he practically started begging me to stop and stay like I am as the pic shows above!

He was fed up with stick thin models being demanding and not eating anything. In fact he liked me so much we are meeting tonight fo dinner .. hehe!

The magazine sounds really cool. It's for every woman that has had issues with their body .. basically everyone!! It is just to get the message out that we are all amazing inside and it does not matter what others think. I may even be involved in a further calander shoot with the team later.

I feel really proud of myself overcoming my reluctance to strip off and it was a very enlightening experience.

Sexy Sea Goddess

Objective #1

Discovered by the photographer:

I was just minding my own business at the pool at my hotel, when a man came up to me. He recognized me from the show, and wanted me on the cover of a his new magazine. At first, I accepted. An opportunity like this only comes once in a short while, and then he broke the news to me. I was going to be shot in a bikini! I have confidence, yes, but I usually wear one-piece suits, and I always wear a sun dress over my suit until I get in the water, like the one I had on right then. But, I had already agreed, and I don't like to go back on my word. This was going to be interesting.

At The Shoot:

Well, I got my nerves all worked in a bunch for nothing. The bikini that the stylist picked out for me was perfect! It complimented my body really well, and brought focus to all the right places. Not only that, but the photographer made me feel really comfortable, and complimented me a lot. I had so mush fun acting sexy. The photographer really liked my 'looking over the shoulder' pose. He said it would entice the male buyers of the magazine. The shoot was at the beach, with a beautiful island right off the shore. It really reminded me of home.

Objective 2

When I got to the shoot, the photographer really wanted to point out to me how important this shoot was. I asked him why, and he replied "We are launching a new magazine, and we really want to stress the idea that 'cookie cutter' is not beauty. Beauty is that person at the checkout line, and the person serving you at your favorite restaurant. Diversity is what makes people beautiful, and we want to show everyone that a little extra is just right. Your cover is the first, and hopefully it will revolutionize the way the every day man and woman look at themselves." I was speechless after that. This was just what I wanted to do, get my message out there to the world about their warped perception of beauty. I almost started crying, but I would have ruined my makeup. A magazine that actually focuses on how beautiful you already are, instead of telling you how you could 'become' beautiful. It was a real honor to be asked to do this.

Mini Task

I'm late but thank you Chyna, Zora and Cinamun for the compliments.

Wow, the competition is really stiff. These two entries are great. BTW spiffyriffic i love your calendar

31st May 2007, 6:31 PM
Objectives #1 and #2

Well after moving on to the next round I decided to celebrate a little bit and hit the beach for a little fun in the sun. I had just purchased a new swimsuit and was ready to show it off. I brought my bag with some veggies and juice and the latest Zane novel for a little "Mental Stimulation" if you get me...
So i'm there, in the shade, when this handsome young Brother comes up to me and sparked up a lively conversation. Commenting me on how great I looked and if he could have a few minutes of my time. Of course I said yes, not because the Brother was gorgeous, but because of his approach. He seemed very polite and well-mannered. We talked about how beautiful and serene the beach was, how peaceful the scenery was and he even snuck in a few compliments here and there, but so subtle, and so flattering. He went on to tell me about an up and coming magazine he was working for that would feature full-figured models. Even going so far as to say he "hoped I wouldnt be offended". I told him flat out
"honey, i'm full-figured and I love the idea! tell me more"...
He said a bunch of Brothers had gotten together one day, all pretty successful artists and businessmen. They were at a bar one day discussing a new business venture. A new magazine. They said they were tired of seeing the same old size 0 girls with their rib-cages hanging out gracing the cover of all the hottest magazines. He said that wasnt attractive to him nor any of the other Brothers in attendance. If he was looking for anymore of my attention, he basically had it all already.. He told me the new magazine would be geared toward a male audience and it would be called "Maximum". I asked him about the name and here's how he explained it: "Maximum is a word that embodies the most of everything, it is the "all" of something. And since the models we look for are fuller-figured women, they encompass the notion of the "all" of everything" So I said "Like All the thighs and hips your eyes can feast upon?" That made us both crack up laughing.

He was a real cool cat, i'll give him that for sure. After laughing a bit he asked if I would mind taking a few pictures for a calendar shoot. He told me that to kick off the launch of the magazine, they were issuing these new calendars featuring future cover models at a launch party in NYC. I told him I would love to. He picked a nice spot full of palm trees near the beach for the test shot. He was just so personable and sweet and knows how to direct a model for a great shot.

We had some drinks afterwards on the shore. He turned out to be a really nice guy. I laughed at him as he removed the tiny little umbrella from his drink thinking I didnt notice.. yep, a "manly-man" alright.
The shoot went well, he sent me his business card and a copy of some of the pictures he used for the calendar. I was truly impressed with his work.

Stunning entries! Cinamun your calendar is beautiful.

31st May 2007, 6:41 PM
Thank you! And apparently I dont follow directions well :( In the round post it says the photographer should be present in ONE shot.. is it okay that he's present in both?

Thank you! And apparently I dont follow directions well :( In the round post it says the photographer should be present in ONE shot.. is it okay that he's present in both?

It's fine if he's in both. I wanted him to be in at least one, the one of him approaching you, since he's obviously taking Ebony's pic in the second shot it 's fine. I do not however wanna see any photographers posing with the models in shot 2 lol, I hope this clears that up for anyone that maybe wondering. :)

31st May 2007, 7:14 PM
Sounds good to me, thank you for the clarification.
