View Full Version : ~*~Miss Galaxy 2007~*~ Contest Over! Winners Announced!

14th Jun 2007, 10:43 AM
Miss Galaxy 2007 -- Beauty Pageant

This contest will be like some of those beauty pageants you've seen on TV, except this is galaxy-wide, and hopefully not as lame :)
Perfect for women that may be considered ugly where they are, but beautiful in another country (or planet). You know, everyone's ideal beauty is different

This pageant would be good for beginners or for those that don't want to rely heavily on Photoshop. Photoshop will not be needed and I hope those of you who are photoshop pro's dont get put off by the word "beginners". I hope you all enter :)

Only Adult Female Sims can enter -- any race (human/alien/vamp/etc) and any body type (thin/normal/"fat")
Photoshopping is allowed but try not to go overboard. You can photoshop a pose, add borders, adjust lighting, add words or a background
(no adding fake hair, SIMpose-ing, simmerizing, etc.)
You can enter up to 2 Sims, but each Sim must have their own entry each round (no group pics) and separate applications.
Please follow regular forum rules (no Sim stealing, no spamming, etc)

ok i'm here :)

29th Jun 2007, 12:09 AM
I have been wanting to enter an alien model in something and this looks good... However, it sounds like we can't photoshop poses, is that true? I photoshop most of my poses so I'm just wondering...

29th Jun 2007, 12:14 AM
sweet, another contest for me to enter. One question, are we going to have a group pic?

29th Jun 2007, 12:23 AM
readysetgo: well, in beauty pageants, you just walk around the stage and flash a big grin at the judges, no need to do a fancy pose or have a fancy set. Its more about your sim and her appearance. I can adjust that rule to allow a bit of photoshop posing. I hope you will enter your alien model :)
noneya: I hadn't thought of it. Maybe :)

29th Jun 2007, 12:24 AM
K, thanks for letting me know. I will definitely enter... If it's going to be judged more on appearance rather than posing then it's ok for me not to use photoshop.

29th Jun 2007, 3:19 AM
Name: Oxana Maanyja
Location: The Kyngigez galaxy
Occupation: Unemployed
Why I decided to enter: Well, I've been hoping for a contest where people from another galaxy could enter, and this looks fun, I love the idea of a beauty pageant!

**I may change these pics... just wanted to get the app in.

29th Jun 2007, 4:07 AM
Oh, this sounds awesome! I'll definitely be entering.

29th Jun 2007, 12:22 PM
I haven't joined an alien type contest before. I want to try this one!

EDIT: Do we need so MUCH storytelling here anonymous? I'm not good at it really, english is not our national language.

29th Jun 2007, 4:07 PM
this isnt necessarily an alien contest--you can enter a human, vampire, demon, alien, whatever. It's for all women :)
Its not storytelling, there will be questions they normally ask at beauty pageants. Like, "what is one thing the world needs now?" answer: "world peace" (although that is not one of the questions I'll be asking) You wont be judged on how long your responses are, just how thoughtful/creative they are. And the question/answer will only be worth a couple of points, the pictures are worth way more.
the entries are great so far! :D

* Name Dajianna Niklaus
* Location Shadowlands (or as some call it, the Underworld)
* Occupation Heretic (I send souls onto their appointed destinations)
* Why you decided to enter the Miss Galaxy Pageant Where I'm from, beauty holds no position in the Heirarchy of Angels and Demons. I've heard rumors that the Skinlands (your world, here on Earth) regards beauty as most important. Yesterday, a wraith (you may say "ghost") came to me and showed me an advert for a Miss Galaxy Pageant. He scoffed and tore it to pieces, muttering something about how shallow the inhabitants of the Skinlands are. After he left, I snatched up the shreds of the advert and managed to put it back together. I've come here to represent the Shadowlands in every fashion and form. Hey mortals, eat your heart out.

Name: You could not possibly hope to pronounce my name properly, since it consists entirely of whistles and clicks. You may address me as Ixa.

Location: At the moment, I am here with all of you, but I do not live here. The true name of my home is actually a song in my native language; however, I believe that the common name for it in this area of the universe is Mnsemmoene.

Occupation: As of now, it is not yet time for me to do my duty. At the time of my father's demise, I will assume the title and position of the Black Gatekeeper, which means that I shall monitor and control incoming and outgoing traffic through the Black Gate, which is the largest entrance into Mnsemmoene. It is a very important job, which will require all my time and concentration, so, until the job is my responsibility, I am free to do as I please. As my mother says, I must have some fun first.

Why I decided to enter the Miss Galaxy Pageant: On Mnsemmoene, I am not considered beautiful at all. My skin is not the proper shade and my face does not have the right proportions. Yet my dream has always been to win a contest of beauty. I have tried to enter pageants on my world, but time and time again, I have been rejected. My younger sister brought this contest to my attention one day when she noticed that my appearance happens to coincide with this world's ideals of beauty. I believe that this contest may just be my chance to shine, and I intend to make the most of it!

::Face Shot::

::Full Body Shot::
And yes, these are my everyday clothes. I do not like the so-called 'jeans'.

30th Jun 2007, 1:28 AM
Very beautiful Buster! And very original.

Mnsemmoene....Mnemosyne....Mnsemmoene...Mnemosyne. hahahahahahaha

30th Jun 2007, 1:30 AM
*grins* So you noticed!! Sorry, didn't mean to steal your name, just liked the way it sounded so I tweaked it a little... Hope you don't mind. And I can very easily change it if you do. :D
By the way, Dajianna is phenomenally beautiful!! Love the eyes!

30th Jun 2007, 1:35 AM
*winks* It's alright with me. And thanks!

I can't wait to see some other entries. I've been waiting for a contest that showcases other beings and not just humans, so I hope there ends up being enough apps.

30th Jun 2007, 2:12 AM
I'm thinking about entering though I don't know about the pagent idea. Hmm, I'll probably decide tomorrow.

30th Jun 2007, 3:35 AM
Mnemosyne, Dajianna Niklaus 's picture of the angel of death/black angel is beautiful! i love that photo! :D

30th Jun 2007, 4:41 AM
Name: Ca'Anwa Kitoxie
Location: Flesklett
Occupation: Buyer; I travel the galaxy procuring exotic goods for my employer, an import/export merchant.
Why you decided to enter the Miss Galaxy Pageant: I was on earth
arranging for a shipment of Coca-Cola to be sent to Flesklett when I saw an advertisement for this pageant. It sounded fun, and since I had some vacation time coming, I decided to enter. I want to show the galaxy that it's our differences that make us beautiful.

Location: Ysera

Occupation: I'm a messenger in Ysera

Why you decided to enter the Miss Galaxy Pageant? It is a great idea to let us aliens join in a beauty pageants like this. This will prove that aliens like me are beautiful too!

30th Jun 2007, 6:12 AM
Ummm... I'm thinking that since I have so many alien/exotic type sims floating around in my game that I might do another entry. Plus, my other two contests are done (I think), and this one isn't very demanding, soo... yea. I'll probably post another tommorrow or something. :D

And nice entry, starphyre!

Oooohhh... love her kazu! Especially her skin!! I've never seen that one before!

30th Jun 2007, 6:16 AM
Oh, thank you buster! The skin is from www.rensim.com it is free.

30th Jun 2007, 6:18 AM
Thank-you!! *runs off and gets it* Don't worry, I won't use it in this contest. :D Because that would just be plain rude!

30th Jun 2007, 6:22 AM
It doesn't matter really. I don't mind if you'll use that skin. :]

30th Jun 2007, 6:28 AM
Name: Georgia Ray

I changed my bodyshot. I think the previous one is too big.

30th Jun 2007, 7:35 AM
emaone Thanks! I figured everyone might be doing aliens of some sort (as it IS called Miss Galaxy), but I figured introducing a Dark Angel wouldn't hurt.

kazu and starphyre77 Gorgeous entries!

30th Jun 2007, 7:54 AM
Thank you Mnemosyne! I love your bodyshot!

30th Jun 2007, 11:28 AM
I'm so gonna join this!!

30th Jun 2007, 5:25 PM
wow the entries look wonderful!
happycowlover -- as with real-life pageants of this nature (miss world, miss usa) there will be off-stage pictures where you can feature your sim outdoors and doing something besides standing around looking pretty lol so I hope the pageant idea doesnt turn you off -- this contest may not be as challenging as other ones but it wont be simple and hopefully wont be boring :)
busterbrown, i hope you enter a second sim!

edit: we're still looking for an emergency judge so if you're interested please pm me :)

30th Jun 2007, 9:21 PM
I'll enter then! It sounds like a pretty cool contest. I was also going to create an alien contest named Miss Galaxy! LOL I'll have my entry in a minute.

30th Jun 2007, 10:55 PM
Name: Ceras Reyledux. Ceras means "maiden" and Reyledux means "of importance". So my full name means "maiden of importance".

Location: When I landed on Earth, I knew very little about this planet. I found out that I landed in a place called Texas, USA. I don't really know what the USA stands for but I plan to find out soon!

My birthplace and home is Yathe. You Earthlings and other galactic beings probably have heard of it before. It's a huge tourist attraction, filled with various activities, festivals, and events to entertain any type of race. Many visitors call it 'Paradise' in all types of languages.

Occupation: I am one of the 5 head operators of the tourist attractions on Yathe. My job is very demading and requires a lot of work. I barely get to see my family, my husbands and wives (we believe in polygamy on Yathe), or even take a break. I am one of the queen's right-hand woman thanks to my job. So, I guess I'm royalty by business. Unfortunately, this puts even more pressure on me to perform my job at the fullest.

Why you decided to enter the Miss Galaxy Pageant? Well, I was sent to Earth by the Queen's orders to see if you Earthlings wanted to vacate in Yathe since we've never had any Earthlings on our planet. While I was exploring a place called "supermarket", I saw a paper about a pageant for all types of beauty. Interested, I used Earth's communication device and called the number on the paper. Hey, this is my first time on Earth, so I should do something I'll remember! Plus, this can be my long-needed break from my demanding job and I want to show my fellow workers that I can loosen up and actually have fun.

On Yathe, this is our 'casual' clothing. Appearance means lot to us.

30th Jun 2007, 11:37 PM
Name: What? A name? Psshht! Like I remember my real name! Ya'll can call me Frankie. Frankie Varr. Yea, I know it's a guy's name! Duhh!! I just like it. You wanna make somethin' of it? Oh, yea, and don't ask about the tattoo. If ya don't know what it means, you probably don't want to know.

Location: Here and there, baby!! I'm like a tumbleweed, just blowing through town.

Occupation: Don't ask, don't tell! I can't tell ya the particulars, see, 'cause it's none of your beeswax. Lemme just say I pilot a transport vessel for various, how shall I say...'shady' fellows. I love it though! I was never one of those girls that was happy just stayin' at home, takin' care of the family. Got nothin' against them, but I just wasn't cut out for the home life, you know?

Why I decided to enter the Miss Galaxy Pageant: 'Cause I'm hot, baby!! You know, I know it, we all know it! Naw, just kiddin'. I really just wanted to do something away from the guys, you know? The ship gets pretty stuffy with all those big smelly dudes on board. They don't bother me or anythin', I just want a break. This contest sounded like a blast, so I said, why not??

::Face Shot::

::Full Body Shot::

(Well, kazu, since you said you don't mind, I used the skin. *cringes* Don't hurt me!! LOL I tried to make it look less like the same skin and so now to the casual glance, it only looks similar rather than identical. Thank-you very much for pointing it out! I lurves it!)

1st Jul 2007, 8:39 AM
Frankie is awesome!
That made me laugh.

1st Jul 2007, 12:35 PM
Name: Why do you need to know? Well, it's Bue. But I'm not giving you a surname. You could look me up or something.

Location: You're getting awful personal. How about we just say the earth. That's not good enough? Oh fine. Ireland. Yes, I know ireland's a country but I don't want you coming to my house or anything. Argh, have it your way! I live at: 23 Gangweilig road, Dublin. So if I get broken in to tonight I'll know who it is.

Occupation: I pretend to be a yetti all day. Yes I do. How do you know? Why do you want to know? What will you do with the information? What will you do to me? Okay. I work as a teacher who teaches fools.. er I mean humans who can't use the computer how to. It's not the best thing to do but the pay is awesome. I mean, §600 a day! I mean, wow!

Why I decided to enter the Miss Galaxy Pageant: Erm, I'm not sure. I was bored, I was near the studio and decided to come in. I think I could do it. I guess. I could be a good model. I really could. I have the looks I guess. I don't know. I JUST DID, OKAY?! STOP ASKING ME QUESTIONS! Gosh...

Head shot

Body shot
I hope that is okay. n.n

Daltonism: I'm not sure what you mean by thin but it looks great.

I hope those of you thinking about joining will join us :D If you have questions, please ask me. There are 2 and a half days left of applications so you still have some time left :)

And thank-you again, kazu.:D

EDIT:  Love the grouchy Bue!

1st Jul 2007, 6:11 PM
I know. Bue is a little lacking in the personality department. I may edit that little bit later or tomorrow. But Frankie is awesome. I love love the goggles. She reminds me of tank girl. x3

EDIT: Thanks about Bue being cute!
I changed her personality to be more like her roleplay personality. Serious grouchy! >3

* Name: Pluto Miniut is her alias, but her real first name is Diane.

* Location: Current location is San Antonio, Texas.

* Occupation: Professional electric bassist.

* Why you decided to enter the Miss Galaxy Pageant: Although I have been told that I am beautiful, I never felt like I fit in with humans. I have lived on the Earth my entire life, but I have always considered Pluto, my mother's home planet, to be my true home as well. I am entering this pageant because I don't want to be the outcast anymore.

Name Fauna Roseland
Location LA, California
Occupation Lab Assistant
Why you decided to enter the Miss Galaxy Pageant I want to prove that the weird quirky girl and school can grow up and be in a pageant and win. When I saw this Pageant was for everyone I thought, ''Hey there will be people here that are 'weird', but not 'weird' because they act weird, but because they are from all over the place.

3rd Jul 2007, 8:11 PM
wow! so many great entries and familiar faces :D
Application Round ends in a little less than 12 hours so those of you who are planning on entering, please make sure to get your entry in soon!

Name: Altrii'anii'a Mii'aii'a (Pronounced Ahl-tree-ah-nee-ah Mee-ah-ee-ah)

Location: Originally from Planet Fal-trii'daxx, Vii'doxxen Galaxy (Now gone)

Occupation: Child of the fall of Fal

Why you decided to enter the Miss Galaxy Pageant: My birth planet of Fal was destroyed by a dying sun when I was a mere 8Falcycles, and while we did possess spacecraft, there were few that were actually deep-space worthy, and there were certainly not enough to evacuate an entire planet. A variety of Fal-trii'daxian's were chosen to fill the evacuation ships - I myself was selected for my looks (as a perfect example of Fal-trii'daxian beauty) and we blasted off into the vastness of the Universe to ensure the continuation of our species, leaving our doomed world behind us.

My companions and I have travelled the universe for many cycles searching for a new home, and we have seen many planets, and many different races. But wherever we have landed I have always been considered exceptionally beautiful and I am now used to stunned expressions when people gaze upon my face. It seems fitting that we landed on planet Earth at the time of this Pageant - with my perfect looks how could I not enter?

Yay! I got it done! I had a slight glitch in my Sims game last night...it wouldn't load at all! I was hoping it would be sorted in time to get my entry done, and thankfully my fiance managed to figure it out. (Something to do with the cashe files?!) :smash: but fixed now.

I'm loving the entries!

My post is:

4th Jul 2007, 7:23 AM
Ok, looks like apps are over... When do we get this little party started??? :D

4th Jul 2007, 8:48 AM
Are we going to have eliminations in application round?

4th Jul 2007, 8:53 AM
Application Round is Over :) Yay so many entries!
I will pm the judges so they can score/comment and will post those when I have them.
Since there are no eliminations this round, here are the details for round 1. If you have questions please ask :D
Make sure to include your contestant's name in the title of your post along with the round #.

Round 1: Talent and Personality
Such lovely contestants we have for our pageant!
The judges would like to see your talent and your personality.
There will be 4 eliminations this round. For tips, read the first post of this thread under the "tips" banner :) Remember, you're trying to show off your unique beauty ;)

Round Requirement: you must wear a hairstyle from NoukieSims (http://noukiesims2.net) in one of the pictures

Picture 1: Personality
To showcase your personality, you are being told to “strike a pose” onstage that shows the real you. Clothing, hair, makeup is entirely up to you. Your only available prop onstage is a chair.

Picture 2: Talent
Pick a talent you are good at and show it off onstage—if you’re a great singer, grab the mic and start singing, if you play an instrument, bring it onstage and play to your hearts content. Make sure your appearance matches your talent (example: if you are playing classical piano, you should probably be in formalwear with a nice updo)

Onstage Question: What quality do you like most about yourself and why?

Round 1 ends on July 9 at Midnight PST (Countdown Clock (http://www.makeacountdown.com/?id=298559))

4th Jul 2007, 8:59 AM
Great round anonymous! One question, in the Picture 1: Personality, are we going to put it in a plain background or anything?

4th Jul 2007, 9:17 AM
its entirely up to you guys what stage you make as long as it's an indoor stage lol.
just make sure the background isnt so busy that it distracts us from your pretty sim :D

4th Jul 2007, 9:38 AM
YAY! Round 1! gah I thought I'd die from waiting for the APPs to be over! Great round Anonymous and I can't wait to get started.

4th Jul 2007, 2:52 PM
I'm probably going to have to post my entry really late. Like when the round is almost over.

4th Jul 2007, 5:57 PM
i sumitted my scores for applications!! great job everybody! Love all your sims! =]

4th Jul 2007, 6:41 PM
This is a really good round anonymous!! Love the personalty shot idea in particular!

4th Jul 2007, 8:43 PM
Can we use Noukiesims hair in either picture? And can we pick (on noukiesims) hair by some other creator than Nouk?
Nice round! What to do, what to do....

4th Jul 2007, 9:03 PM
Personality shot
Okay, so the producer told me to get my sorry a** backstage and I was furious! So I decided to shove the chair over. Plus I was vexxed about my dumb costume. So I think this picture frames my personality perfectly.

DO I look I have a talent? Well, I play the drums for my band called Headbands glam&rock. We are the best. Seriously. DON'T YOU AGREE WITH ME? Argh...

What quality do you like most about yourself and why?
I like the way I can teach people things. And how I'm so patient with them. I love that about myself. It's a winning quality.

Subject to change. I'm not too sure about these.

4th Jul 2007, 11:13 PM
mnemosyne: i wanted the app round to have the most amount of time, and to have it done before the american holiday, thats why it seemed like forever lol but the rest of the rounds will be about 4 days each
Eadoin: that's fine :) if you end up needing a one day extension please pm me
Sizza: as long as it is from noukiesims its fine :) and it only has to be one of the pictures, your choice
Daltonism: that's a great entry you have so far! :D

5th Jul 2007, 2:14 AM
Task 1
I'm pretty laid back. I like dresses. When I'm nervous my eyes glow... it really blows my cover... lol

Task 2

"I can eat an entire pizza in 1 minute!"

My best quality is my ability to put others at ease. I'm really easy to talk to and I can keep a secret if need be.

5th Jul 2007, 2:19 AM
i like the entries so far for round 1 :) So fun!
only two pictures please :) one for each task/competition for the round.
i have already finished with my scoring/comments for the applications but i will wait until i have the other judges' before I post them all.
i can't wait to see everyones entries :D

5th Jul 2007, 2:26 AM
Ooooh... now my entry looks stupid

5th Jul 2007, 2:55 AM
Task 1: Personality

While it's difficult to choose one pose that shows my true personality, I think this one, albeit cliché, works well.

Task 2: Talent

My first musical instrument was an acoustic guitar, but I definitely
prefer bass.

What quality do you like most about yourself and why?: I think my best quality is my ability to change my personality, style, and anything else and look natural while doing so. Most people think that I'm some wild party animal, but I'm actually an insecure, introverted person. My chameleon-like ability gives me a sense of freedom that most people don't have.

5th Jul 2007, 3:16 AM
Yay! The first round sounds like fun.

And I really like the competition so far, nice entries Zaggy and Daltonism.

5th Jul 2007, 6:04 AM
Hey, wait a sec. Ixa doesn't have any hair!!! It's a characteristic of her race!! Does she need to wear a 'wig' for her shots??

5th Jul 2007, 6:17 AM
My scores are in :) Great work ladies!

5th Jul 2007, 6:32 AM
Are there any eliminations in the application round?
I hopes not!

5th Jul 2007, 7:04 AM
No, there are no eliminations for the apps round. :D

5th Jul 2007, 7:04 AM

Hey, wait a sec. Ixa doesn't have any hair!!! It's a characteristic of her race!! Does she need to wear a 'wig' for her shots??

I think you must really let her wear a wig. ^^

5th Jul 2007, 7:59 AM
Task 1
This is my true personality, I am very loveable person i always care for other people becuase ive been suffered for years and i dont want people to feel the way i used to... AND one more thing i love to cuddle people :D

Task 2

I have been a DJer since i left school.. that is what i did everyday at home because i got noone to hang out with back then... I became very good at it and became wellknown DJ Xia as i do DJ most fri nights at a nightclub in city..

What quality do you like most about yourself and why?

I love my quaity of bein myself cause i accept people for who they are.. i grew up with humans and they never accepted me they wanted me to change but i will never change no matter what... And i am happy with my life now so that is the main thing... Cause its very important to be happy..

5th Jul 2007, 4:35 PM
Task 1

I choose this pose because show my funny and feisty personality ^^

Task 2

My passion, that is my part-time job, is to clean up… I love cleaning up, because a clean world is a better world *_*

Task 3

My best quality is certainly my positiveness, I'm absolutely upbeat and, as for me, the glass is always half-full. People love to stay with me because I costantly smile.

Sorry for my bad english... :(

5th Jul 2007, 5:45 PM
My thingy (http://forums.sims2community.com/showpost.php?p=937476&postcount=81) is done now!
I haven't got time to chnage it now becuase I'm going on holiday with the school to Normandy (in France) again! lol
Byee! And good luck guys!

5th Jul 2007, 5:49 PM
havaianascookie, please spell/grammer check your entry. Spelling school with a K is unacceptable, even if you're only trying to be cute.

5th Jul 2007, 6:50 PM

Patience?? Bue?? In the same sentence??? *dies laughing*

5th Jul 2007, 8:04 PM
no there are no eliminations in the app round, which is why I posted round 1 up already.
yes, if your sim's race doesnt have hair (or if she normally doesnt) you will need to put a "wig" on her for this round from NoukieSims -- but only for one of the pictures :)

and although Dour said it a bit more harshly than I would have: please remember you are also being scored on your responses not just your pictures so you should be creative and type normally ("skool" and "wat" would be considered chat-speak which isnt allowed on s2c).

Picture 1: Personality

"I was asked to strike a pose to show the real me - I leapt out of my seat because some days I wish I could just hug the whole universe!"

Picture 2: Talent (Hair by Noukie Sims)

"Dance is a highly developed form of expression within my culture, and the one talent I possess that I am the most proud of. The colour and style of clothing, wigs, and cosmetics worn all have symbolic meanings - today I dance to celebrate my love of life."

Onstage Question: What quality do you like most about yourself and why?

"My best quality is my confidence - I am a very confident and social person, and I love meeting new people/species/aliens and making new friends! Because of the way I grew up, spending most of my childhood onboard a spaceship I am used to being constantly surrounded by others. As my companions and I are still searching for a new home, I have visited many planets and met many different species - there was no way I could be shy under circumstances like those!"

6th Jul 2007, 1:13 AM
oh sorry i didnt mean to do that its cause i was always like that n have been doin it for years sorry heh thanks for lettin me know...
btw anonymous i got to let u kno that im not very good at grammar n sentences so ull judge on that?

6th Jul 2007, 4:10 AM
This round sounds fun, and everyone's entries are looking great so far.

I do have a question though, is it ok to use a recolor of the Nouk hair?

6th Jul 2007, 4:21 AM
havaianascookie you (all of us actually) are required to follow sims2community posting rules (http://forums.sims2community.com/showthread.php?t=14) which state no chat-speak (ull, kno, u, n, skool, wat) please use full words so you don't get in trouble with the moderators :)
As far as this contest is concerned, we are looking more at what you're saying than how you're saying it so typos/misspellings/grammar mistakes aren't a big deal.
starphyre77, sure :)
I was planning on posting up the judges scores/comments tonight, but I am still waiting on some and would like to post them all at once :hmm:

6th Jul 2007, 4:35 AM
Task 1 - Personality
I'm a little bit saucy and spicy.... I just like to have fun.

Task 2 - Talent
If there's music playing, I'm dancing!

What quality do you like most about yourself and why?
Even though to most people, being hard-headed and stubborn are negative traits I choose to look at them as positive traits. I don't give up and I'm not easily influenced by others.

6th Jul 2007, 8:40 AM
Picture 1: Personality: Serene…placid…thoughtful. Portrait of Deir taken onstage during rehearsals for Shakespeare’s “A Midsummer Night’s Dream” in front of its forest backdrop at the Xanax National Theatre.

Picture 2: Talent: Singing the blues…NoukieSims2 hair. Portrait taken onstage during technical setup for a TV special featuring Deir at the Xanax Cabaret.

Onstage Question: What quality do you like most about yourself and why? My most valued asset is my ability to cope with myriad situations. I find this advantageous because it allows me to remain composed and comfortable under the most awkward conditions.

6th Jul 2007, 7:17 PM
Personality- Fun and Crazy

Talent- Opera

What quality do you like best about yourself and why? I really like how I can turn things postive. That is how i keep life fun and happy. Noone wants to be depressed.

6th Jul 2007, 10:18 PM
Task 1 - Personality
There are only a few in the Shadowlands that know, truly know the real me. I can be fun..and nice...no, really I can!

Task 2 - Talent
In the Shadowlands I'm known as The Puppeteer. You see, my line of work grows very dull sometimes, and on occassion I must entertain myself, and I do so by playing with Wraiths. Wraiths are ghosts who are fettered or tied to the Shadowlands and their life before death. Something is keeping them from passing on to Heaven or Hell and they truly are tortured souls. Even still...they offer me hours and hours of absolute fun!

What quality do you like best about yourself and why? I don't mean to brag, but have you seen my eyes? They're gorgeous! Lucifer told me once that they reminded him of a bottomless ocean, whose depths conceal more than they show. Well, now, I took that as a compliment, although some others may have not. Now, I consider my eyes a quality because they reveal to me what most others can not see; the nature of one's soul.

6th Jul 2007, 11:39 PM

Judges' Application Round Favorites: #25, #19, and #12

1) Total Score: 83

Great entry, fashion is a little weird. I suppose that it is your home planet’s style.

6) Total Score: 65

This is a beauty pageant, not a modeling contest. Please take the extra time to read the contest details before posting replies.

Overall good entry

I don't understand why #15, Lazthroni lost points due to the background. It's plain and light.

7th Jul 2007, 2:37 AM
Oh, Is the outfit really necessary? I really don't know why I lose point from that. :[

Thanks for the comments, they were nice, but I'd like to respond to them though

For #13, Well, we weren't allowed to take the mugshot of them while they pull of some face(or a smile) so of course she's sad, since that's her default face and all...

For #14, Lines around the lips? I don't really see them, but that's her skintone, it has a strange stuff on the lips:)

7th Jul 2007, 5:10 AM

I'm a bit wild and crazy sometimes, I just love the earthlings unique style of punk. Plus the purple hilights in my hair really set off my skin!

Talent - Ballet

Ok, so I'm not all a punk chick, I have a weakness for classical ballet. I've been dancing since I was a young girl. Earth's styles of dances are very popular on my planet as well.

What quality do you like most about yourself and why?
I am a very dedicated person - whenever I get serious about something, I'm always very intense about getting it done. It's what makes me such a talented ballerina, I work and work until I learn the routines, even if it's tough on me. I guess it makes me a bit of a perfectionist, but it's worth it. I hope to bring the same kind of dedication to my modeling, and be able to rise to the top.

7th Jul 2007, 1:35 PM
Since I am #12 and #19...

Thank you very much judges!!!!!

My round 1 entries are coming soon. (Probly finish them tonight.)

7th Jul 2007, 9:11 PM
Yes it is necessary to follow the directions as best you can, as you see by the criteria, you can lose points for it. I made that clear before anyone entered lol However, if you dont follow directions, you dont completely lose points, you just lose 2.
I also said that this is a beauty pageant, and you wouldnt wear underwear or a swimsuit to your casual interview with the judges before the pageant starts, would you? lol
(kazu your outfit was fine so im not sure why you're asking? )

That's what the application round was -- your casual interview.
Your "onstage question" this past round was why you chose to enter the contest.
I think it will be easier to show off your sim's personality and uniqueness in future rounds than in the application round.

As for the comments:
#13 Yes I think the judge forgot that I told you guys to have the closeup expressionless? which is why she looks "sad" or maybe they meant the bodyshot?
#15 has a dark-green background, not "light-colored"
#14 you're right, it is probably due to the skintone

I know some of you guys are wondering about your comments:
If you have questions about the directions I give you for any of the rounds, please ask me :) I sign on here as often as I can so I can answer your questions pretty quickly.

I know some of the comments were a bit harsh for the application round; I think next round results will be better. I tried to keep my comments positive and constructive--I will remind the judges to do the same :)

Also: don't feel bad if you didnt get to be one of the round favorites this time around, it's not based on points; just the judges picks for their favorite entries of that round. You could end up being round favorite in a future round!

7th Jul 2007, 9:42 PM
Well it must be my computer then because it definately looks light to me.

7th Jul 2007, 11:31 PM
Some monitors have lighter/darker settings than others. I learned that the hard way when I turned in a computer image project that looked like it had perfectly blended edges and on the teacher computer it was all streaky and liney (from the dodge/burn tool) ANYWAY... Point being that some things look darker or lighter depending on the monitor.

What quality do you like most about yourself and why?
Uh, I guess how I can say whatever I like whenever I like, despite what other people might think. There are actually some people that don't do that. Can you believe it?

Picture 1: Personality
Because everyone’s personality is made up of various facets, I found it a little difficult to choose only one which would best show my personality, but after consideration, I decided that my patience is one of my strongest traits.

Picture 2: Talent
For the talent event, I decided to demonstrate my skill with archaic weapons. Most people are surprised to learn that I find the daggers, swords, and dackthays (a weapon similar to Earth’s bows) used by the ancients to be intriguing. There is a certain graceful elegance in the precision necessary with throwing knives.

Onstage Question: What quality do you like most about yourself and why?
The quality that I like most about myself is that I am open minded. I am always open to new experiences, I accept that just because others are different from me does not make me any better or worse than them, and I always try to look both sides of a situation and understand the other person's point of view. Being open-minded has not only enabled me to be successful in my career, but has also helped me form many wonderful friendships with people across the galaxy.

Picture 1: Personality
I'm very open-minded and eclectic. I rarely tend to go with the flow. I'm always trying to find new ways to express myself.

Picture 2: Talent
I love playing classical piano. I use to hate when my mother forced me to take lessons. Now, I'm grateful she did. My favorite composer is Beethoven.

Onstage Question: What quality do you like most about yourself and why? I'm a peacemaker. I love bringing people together and celebrating the differenced between them, which is probably why I love pageants so much.

10th Jul 2007, 2:20 AM

Round 2: Swimsuit and Lifestyle
Congratulations on making it this far contestants!
For this round we would like to take our competition outdoors to showcase your health, lifestyle, and fitness. In this round, you may have other sims in the photos but your sim must be the focus!
Depending on number of entries, there will be about 5 eliminations this round.
For tips, read the first post of this thread under the "tips" banner :) Remember, you're trying to show off your unique beauty ;)

Round Requirement: you need to wear a swimsuit from All About Style (http://www.all-about-style.com/adult_feswi.html) or Siluetta Sims (http://www.siluettasims.de/)

Picture 1: Swimsuit
You will need 1 picture showing off your body and positive self-image in a stylish swimsuit having fun in the sun. You can do whatever type of pose and setup you like; remember to keep it classy and tasteful.

Picture 2: Lifestyle
Our pageant winner will be a role model for young women everywhere, so we want to show them how healthy and positive your life is. Take a picture of your sim working out, eating healthy, participating in a marathon...you get the idea :) (Make sure their appearance matches what they are doing--if they are jogging they shouldnt be wearing a dress and heels lol)

Onstage Question: What do you feel is the most challenging issue facing young women today?

Round 2 ends on July 14 at Midnight PST (Countdown Clock (http://www.makeacountdown.com/?id=298857))

what did u mean by that i didnt completed my entry? ive done all of them?

I don't know about the judges or host but your first picture isn't showing up for me. I just get the red x of doom.

10th Jul 2007, 4:01 PM
havaianascookie, there is only one picture (i dont even see the red x nayanrose mentioned, as if there was never one?)
I'm not sure what happened to it. I figured you deleted it because you were going to change your entry and didnt end up updating it.
If you can reupload the picture right now, you can be back in the contest. But I can't give you an extension to make a new picture.

10th Jul 2007, 8:40 PM

11th Jul 2007, 7:14 AM
ok i will pm the judges and ask them to include your entry. :) In the future you should double-check your entry shortly before the round ends -- especially since you're using photobucket and they like to delete pictures randomly.

11th Jul 2007, 7:55 AM
yea i always look at my entry i can see my picture before i renamed the pic.. werid... but ill keep askin u guys if u can see my pic..
thanks heaps :D

11th Jul 2007, 5:40 PM
I can't H-cookie.

It is a known problem with Photobucket. If I were you I'd try this:

Delete the pictures in your photobucket account. Then rename the jpg files on your computer. Then upload those renamed files to your photobucket account.

By renaming them before uploading, and deleting the old ones completely from photobucket you should no longer get this problem. (Which as I found out has something to do with the fact photobucket just remembers your old filenames for certain pictures, and if you upload something with the same filename it just shows the old again (even tho the new one is in the link.)) It's weird, I found this out after I resized one of my pics, it would display the old size instead of the new if I didn't change the filename before uploading.

11th Jul 2007, 6:24 PM
:wtf: I still don't see it :wtf2:

12th Jul 2007, 1:24 AM
hey there guys just wonderin if this one worked this time??
sorry for wasting your time..

12th Jul 2007, 2:06 AM
Picture one:
Coming soon..

Picture two:

When it's summer, I love to go fishing in a lake nearby my home town. Nobody else except my family knows about that lake, so I can relax and not worry about being ambushed by fans or paparazzi. Although I usually throw the fish that I catch back in the lake, I love being so close to nature. I think that it's unfortunate that a lot of people take nature and earth for granted. In my opinion, we'd all be a lot happier and less stressed if we gave ourselves time to experience the outdoors.

What do you feel is the most challenging issue facing young women today?
I feel that one of the most important, challenging issues for young women is pressure. Women, especially younger ones, and pressured by everyone. By the media, the world, even their friends and family. I have met too many young ladies who were living under extreme strain and expectations, who were afraid to speak up for themselves or have control over their lives. Girls and women should be taught self confidence, instead of fed expectations that can lead to psychological issues and unhealthy lifestyles.

12th Jul 2007, 5:33 AM
I can't wait to the comments/scores from round 1....

12th Jul 2007, 10:38 AM
hi sorry guys i was wanting to post the scores/comments for round 1 but only one of the judges has sent me their scores. Hopefully I'll have them all by later on today :)

12th Jul 2007, 10:54 PM
Task 1

Task 2

What do you feel is the most challenging issue facing young women today?
I think the most challenging issue facing young women today is having the time to do it all and to do it well. There is a delicate balancing act required to educate yourself, embark upon a successful career, get married and eventually have a family. So often women feel themselves pulled in so many directions that they have no time for their own nurturing. So I believe young women of today should be careful not to fall into habits that rob any area of their life - they then can enjoy all the fruits of their hard work.

13th Jul 2007, 1:15 AM
okay i sent in my comments and scores. :D good luck everyone

13th Jul 2007, 8:18 AM
Task 1
boat is the best place to have a relaxtion whenever you have stress just go on the boat and it will be worth it.. :D

Task 2
always have the hard work cause you will always feel good afterwards thats why i will never give up the work out..

What do you feel is the most challenging issue facing young women today?
bein a woman is the most challenge for the rest of our lives because there is million of things that happens for women eg; periods, pregrancy, weight and emotion.. lots of things happens to women... look at men they got nothing they dont get periods or anything, they dont understand what is goin thought for women.. thats why we all women do understand eachother what they have been going though.. we all love bein women dont we?? :D

13th Jul 2007, 10:28 AM

As stated before, there are no eliminations until Round 2 is over.

Here is the judging criteria for all rounds:
Followed Directions yes = 3 points no = 1 point
Onstage Question 1 to 5 points
Fashion Style 1 to 5 points
Personality 1 to 5 points
Overall Uniqueness 1 to 5 points
Overall Creativity 1 to 5 points
Overall Beauty 1 to 10 points

Judges' Round Favorites: #23, #15, and #12 (these are not in any particular order)

1) Total Score: 74
Good entry, though I am not sure how your first pose defines your personality, it seems like you were really letting your clothing do more talking than your body language.
Oxana’s unique in her own way. I loved the ballerina picture. It has to be your strongest for me. Although, the ballerina outfit could had been more ‘ballet’ if you know what I mean and so should the hair and make up. Your first photo is good too. I loved the way you answered the questions.
Interesting entry :)

2) Total Score: 92
Dajianna looks like one beautiful death angel! Whoa she’s so intimidating. :D Anyway, I loved your first shot-stunning. Your second photo is amazing! I love your talent in there! Very creative. Remind me never to go near her lol
Love the talent picture, very creative :)
Great entry. So creative!

4) Total Score: 85
The first thing that made me amazed by CA’Anwa was her personality and the way she answered the questions. It’s simply stunning and so original! She seems like one very tough girl but yet humble towards others too. Your first photo’s great. I loved how you added in the chair and her red dress really brings up contra. Your second photo is well-done too. You did a great job.
Good entry
Very interesting talent picture!

10) Total Score: 86
I love both the pictures; very creative.
Bue is one pretty sim but as I read through the rules-isn’t the first photo supposed to be on stage? And not backstage? Anyway it was great. I loved how you put the anger in with the chair. Aww poor chair lol. Your talent is great too. Your make-up and hair choices are fine; don’t really like your choice of clothes though. Good job.
Good entry

11) Total Score: 76
Good entry, your onstage answer was good, but I would put more into it next time for a higher "personality" score.
Lets start with the good news first. The good thing is, I absolutely adore your Opera pic. That’s your best photo. The dress, the make-up…you got style! The way you answered the question was good too. But I didn’t really like your first photo. I mean, she looks like a Lego in there don’t you think? Overall, great job.
The first picture doesn’t look like it came from in-game and I can’t really tell that she’s singing opera in the second picture; but she looks pretty :)

12) Total Score: 98
I’m not sure the first picture’s details describe a personality; overall great entry.
Your answers are interesting, but for the sake of the contest try to stay on topic/trim them down.
First of all: you got STYLE! Your photos were amazing! I loved the second one especially. She’s very unique. Love the hair, make-up combination. The way you answered the questions was good! It reflects her confidence and determination

13) Total Score: 78
I'm not terribly sure that making someone feel bad about themselves is a talent. Also it doesn't appear that your talent picture is on a stage.
Cylo’s very pretty, but as I read through the rules didn’t it say take a photo on stage? That doesn’t really look like a stage to me (photo 2). The way you answered your onstage question wasn’t quite convincing to me, but it did reflect your personality. Your first photo you said she’s angry right? She looks like she’s going to vomit or cry, but your second photo was good.
It's a unique choice you made for "talent" lol but I'm not sure hurting someone can be considered a talent and isn't a positive rolemodel for young women. Overall good entry though :)

14) Total Score: 71
You didn’t really explain why you like those qualities about yourself; overall good entry.
Neither of your images appears to be on stage; good entry
I like Tianx! Her personality is great lol reminds me of my mom. Anyway I liked how you answered your onstage question. It shows that she’s sure of herself and confident. Ooh yummy cakes. Great talent. You did a pretty good job overall. =)

15) Total Score: 100
Good entry
Wow a classical piano player. Nice. I like that. What’s amazing is that they actually look like she’s onstage, and I love the creativity in your first photo. Finally, your piano photo has to be my favourite. She looks so elegant there. Great job.
Love the personality picture :)

16) Total Score: 89
Very creative talent :)
Wow she’s so pretty! Your first photo is amazing! I loved the whole look. Your second photo is very creative lol eating pizza in one minute. Great job.
I am not sure why you chose to split your images. Task 2’s side images have almost nothing to do with eating pizza--I would have liked to see you actually eating the pizza.

17) Total Score: 88
Your first image does not appear to be on a stage; good entry.
Jayce is a beauty! Great job. Although she doesn’t look like she’s onstage. I loved your first photo: very creative and great style. Your second photo’s amazing! I love her whole look. The way you answered your question was great too. She’s one tough-don’t-mess-with-me kind of person =)
Wonderful entry

19) Total Score: 99
Wonderful entry
Wow she’s very pretty! You are so creative. I love her personality--very unique. She looks so graceful and soft. Nice job!
I love the idea of juggling. Very creative

20) Total Score: 72
Your second picture (and first but not so obviously) does not appear to be on a stage, but rather a set.
I think the thing that most impressed me is the way you answered your question-was one of the best answers. She sounds very confident and that’s a good thing. Her personality shot was sort of a bore and it didn’t look like she’s on stage, but I liked how you made us wonder what your personality was. Your talent is cool too, but the photo’s a bit plain. Overall great job!
Overall good entry

21) Total Score: 53
Overall good entry
Both pictures are missing--can't score/comment.
Cookie, I can’t see your DJ picture but I'm sure if I had, it would be awesome!! Anyway, your onstage question was great but a little too plain. Your fashion style rocks!! Love her dress. Her personality’s great! Anyway, sorry I couldn’t see your DJ photo, but I think you did great.

23) Total Score: 101
You should definitely smile more! You nailed this round.
Your photos are the best! You actually followed the instructions and put her onstage--that’s great! Your creativity is awesome too. I love those small lights behind her. I love how you just jumped out and showed your personality. You did a great job! I loved all your photos, and your name is one creative name, I’ve never heard it before.
Overall great entry

24) Total Score: 92
I'm not sure cleaning is a talent; overall good entry.
Is cleaning a "talent"? Good entry.
Wow Lena is beautiful! Your personality photo is stunning. She definitely looks fun and feisty! Great work! Your fashion sense is amazing too. Your second photo would have been great if it looked more onstage, but it’s still amazing! I loved all your photos and even though your answer was plain, I loved it! Show’s her honesty.

25) Total Score: 93
I think there was some confusion? Your pictures were supposed to be on a beauty contest type of stage, not any stage.
She’s gorgeous! I love her facial expression in the first photo--very model-like. And that art you have coming from her forehead to her nose--that’s beautiful! Very uniquely done. The way you answered the question was amazing! Great job. Your photos are great but they don’t seem to be onstage.
Overall good entry

Aloha! I love relaxing on the beach with a glass of lemonade. Always remember to wear your sunscreen.

I love to do aerobics and dance to stay fit. I have my own private dance studio. When no one's watching, I imitate Alex from Flashdance.

What do you feel is the most challenging issue facing young women today?
I think the most challenging issue that young women face today is not having positive role models. It seems that young women are over exposed to celebrities like Paris, Lindsey, Nicole, and Britney. These young "ladies" behave trashy, careless, and dangeous. They are in the news for being drunk and driving, behavior that endangers their lives as well as others. And still, they are on the covers of magazines and newspapers as being glamorous and cool. This kind of exposure sends the message to young women that this kind of behavior is trendy and cool. It's not. I wish that more young women's magazines would focus on women like doctors, lawyers, entrepreneurs, and politicians. They represent beauty AND BRAINS. These female leaders are the real trend setters.

14th Jul 2007, 12:11 AM
WOW, thank you judges for Dajianna's score and comments. It is much appreciated and I'm glad you all liked her (even though she seems a bit "evil"...lol)

14th Jul 2007, 12:18 AM
She was chewing in the two "side" pictures... I had more but then I realized we were only allowed two pictures so it kinda screwed with my entry. I'm having some problems with my game right now. I already have to swim suit picture I just need to get the lifestyle one. I'm hoping I can fix it in time... just thought I'd give you a heads up :) Thanks for the comments judges.. it's much appreciated!!

14th Jul 2007, 12:23 AM
I'm sorry to have to do this, but I'm afraid that I have to drop out. I can't get to the computer that has my game until late next week. Good luck, everyone!

Onstage Question: What do you feel is the most challenging issue facing young women today?

I feel that one of the most challenging issues facing young women today involves self-image. I have traveled throughout the galaxy, and unfortunately one of the universal constants seems to be that every planet’s media and popular culture goes to great lengths to project an unrealistic ideal of beauty. Sadly I have met many truly beautiful women who viewed themselves as unattractive simply because they were not as thin as this model, or because their skin was not as flawless as that model.

I know this probably sounds trite coming from a contestant in a beauty pageant, but I believe that women throughout the galaxy need to realize that it really is our diversity that makes us beautiful. If everyone looked just like the most beautiful model in the world, then that image would quickly lose its appeal.

14th Jul 2007, 2:29 AM
contessa, no its great :D
Nymphetish, im sorry to see you go :(
Round 2 ends in 29 hours, so if you havent finished your entries, you still have some time :)

14th Jul 2007, 2:51 AM
Okay, I HAVE to say something about this, for both my entries I got the comment that it didn't look like the were on-stage, which is true but the first photo in this (http://forums.sims2community.com/showpost.php?p=941386&postcount=120) entry here doesn't look like it on-stage either but still no comment on that

14th Jul 2007, 3:10 AM
I agree with you Sizza. I spent a bit of time deliberating over whether or not to crop points from that entry over the background. I cannot say if I did or not, because I delete the scores from my HD after I send them and (thankfully) have just enough of an outside life that I don't remember stuff like that. :P
But, to make a point: that is just the nature of judging/judges. I read through the judges comments and there were several pictures I saw that I thought had flaws that the other judges didn't catch, but then I've also been the one who didn't catch things, we're all human. Remember that we're all just a bunch of volunteers who have never received any "judge training". Also remember that scores received do not always reflect the comments given.
Case in point. I didn't give any contestants above an 8 for beauty in round 1 (applications there were 9 and 10s). The reason: None of the photos submitted were outstandingly flattering. But then, it's very difficult to show the beauty of your sim in a body shot. I didn't post anything about that because then the thread (or Nony's pm box) will be flooded with comments about how unfair it is (you mean photography counts?!?!) or how they think that one judge is mean or whatever. It's a double edged sword... judging :) You can't say how you really feel because people get angry, but you're still expected to judge fairly, so a lot of advice or comments that people should understand is to HELP them feel out what judges are looking for and subsequently score higher in future rounds is taken personally.

14th Jul 2007, 3:22 AM
Thanks for answering Doursim. I must say that I feel there is a bit of favorism going on here.
But I know judging is hard, especially on beauty

14th Jul 2007, 3:25 AM
Task 1 - Fun in the Sun
In the Shadowlands, there's no such thing as the Sun. So to my surprise, It didn't effect me as I may have thought. This is my first trip to the Skinlands and I am now addicted to lounging in the sun. To my dismay, I can not "tan" as the mortals call it, but its no matter. I'm here for all those pallid girls that are afraid to show their bodies in the sun and feel they are ugly and un-girlish. I feel so awesome basking in the sun's rays and it's a fabulous feeling! Come join me!

Task 2 - Lifestyle
There's nothing better than centering yourself and clearing all of those wicked thoughts from your mind. Relax, think of nothing and let your spirit lead you where it may. Even in the Shadowlands, I make yoga a hobby, although there it's called "tuning". I feel it's a necessity for young women to take a break from their hectic lives and just let go of everything: good and bad.

On-stage Question:
What do you feel is the most challenging issue facing young women today? I've only been here for a short time, but just from the newspapers and television - did I pronounce that right? - and those around me, I've learned that more and more children are having children. With poverty-striken families growing in numbers, these poor babies are born into such dreadful conditions. Girls as young as thirteen are giving birth and even though this does not happen where I am from, I can sense that it is not morally acceptable here. Even with the education out there, there are so many youths starting families at such young ages. Sex education - if I understand it correctly -is the most critical part of teaching these girls to protect themselves and to prevent pregnancies. It is imperative that these schools teach sex education to not only the girls, but to the boys as well. In my line of work, I see too many young ones pass through....and it nearly breaks my heart. Please...use protection.

BTW, it seems that any accessories on your Sim do not show up when they change to swimwear, so alas, her wings did not show up. I thought of ways to fix that and perhaps photoshop them on, but that seemed like to much work. If it's an issue, I can figure something out.
EDIT: I think I may try something to fix the wing situation because they are her wings! She can't just take them off and put them in her pocket at will...hmm...I think I know how to fix it, so I'll try to before the round ends.

14th Jul 2007, 3:27 AM
starphyre77: I love your swimsuit shot! I play volleyball and I love it when people include it into different things. Great shot!

Cassie :)

14th Jul 2007, 3:53 AM

I eat!! I love food!!! I'm just responsible about it. Everything in moderation. :)

Onstage Question: What do you feel is the most challenging issue facing young women today? Food. Period. Women are so obsessive about it. Whether you eat too much or not enough, too many people think about it too much of the time.

14th Jul 2007, 4:04 AM
Thank you Cassie. I had a lot of fun working on that picture. :D

14th Jul 2007, 5:38 AM
To be 100% honest, I have never seen any of your handles before except Pors. I could care less who wins this contest and I know that my judging is 100% based on the quality of each entry.
I believe that Nony is the same way (well, I know she is). I can't speak for the other judge since I do not know them. It's insulting to the judges to suggest that there is favoritism, especially if there is nothing in the scores to reflect a clear prejudice. If you can prove otherwise I suggest you to PM Nony or I with evidence. I know that there is a little bit of "brand recognition" and Agency stat-padding in other contests, but I can assure you that this contest should not be associated with any biased behaviour.

No hard feelings. I know this is coming off a bit harsh. I just take accusations like that very seriously and urgently ask that you show me some evidence of favoritism (via PM, ) so that it can be rectified.

14th Jul 2007, 7:30 AM
Picture 1: Swimsuit…Fun in the Sun

(Swimsuit from All About Style)

Picture 2: Lifestyle

Onstage Question:

What do you feel is the most challenging issue facing young women today? I think the most challenging issue facing young women today is the one that has been the most challenging for decades. Namely, determining for herself, through observation, exploration, and concentration, what truth and honor are insofar as she (in her individual environment) is concerned…and then working, physically, mentally, and emotionally, to live up to them. It is considered self-evident that one should be true to oneself. It may not sound difficult on the surface. But to truly live it takes a devotion as big as truth and honor themselves.

14th Jul 2007, 11:11 AM
Ehmm... I don't like being accused of being favoured by any Judge too.

I really don't like it, Sizza. Especially since I work hard to get my entries pretty and I don't know any of the judges personal/ online/ in whatever way.

Sorry guys, considder this message my drop out. Nelesquinn and Akirakana have left the building.

Good luck with the rest of the contest, Anonymous. May the least envyous win.

14th Jul 2007, 3:41 PM
appel oh no! That's terrible. I'm sorry to see you go.

I hope this doesn't start a case of the drop-outs, because I love this contest.... :(

14th Jul 2007, 4:05 PM
Oh calm down... we're taking pictures of pixel dolls... it ain't that deep. It's supposed to be fun!! :)

14th Jul 2007, 5:19 PM
appelsapgodin I really don't see any reason for you to drop out. The matter really doesn't have anything to do with you.

14th Jul 2007, 6:10 PM

rolemodel- A healthy breakfest with daily supply of vitamins

What do you feel is the most challenging issue facing young women today? I feel that dieting is the most challenging issue facing young women today because self-image is important to people and some feel as if they aren't skinny enough. Young women feel if the only way to get a guy's attention is to starve themselves. The truth is they are great the way they are

Picture 1: Swimsuit

I don't actually stay in the sun a great deal, because my skin is so fair no amount of SPF Lotion can prevent me from burning. But I don't let that stop me having fun - I simply make sure I'm in the shade until later in the day when the sun isn't so fierce.

Picture 2: Lifestyle

To keep myself in shape, I regularly do a traditional exercise from my culture - Tridd'iipiin (Tridd-ee-peen) I was actually quite surprised to discover it being practiced here on Earth, but under the name Yoga!

Onstage Question

I think one of the most challenging issue facing young females of today is trying to be accepted in what can only be described sometimes as a mans world. One of my main roles on board ship, is that of engineer. I worked hard to learn all that I could, and I am proud to say that I am one of the most experienced engineers of my age group. I have been sad to see how young women of Earth can struggle to succeed in what are mistakenly believed to be male only skills areas. I am proud to stand up here today and say that I am beautiful...amd I am also respected for my knowledge and skills.

14th Jul 2007, 6:14 PM
Oh calm down... we're taking pictures of pixel dolls... it ain't that deep. It's supposed to be fun!! :)

lol you crack me up Zaggy!

14th Jul 2007, 10:21 PM
0_0. Geeze. I wasn't insulting anyone or being envious, honestly (though I'm sure some of you hate me by now because you're convinced that I am).
And appelsapgodin, I wasn't attacking you or insulting(not on purpose) and I'm sure you did put a lot of effort in your entries
I've decided to drop out of this this contest. Belive it or not(I know you won't but I don't care anymore) but I don't join contest to win, but to have fun, and when I apperantly caused one contestant to drop out and insulted 2 judges(both of which were unintentional), then it's time to pack my bags and leave.
I hope the rest of you have fun :howdy:

14th Jul 2007, 11:41 PM
Well I'm sorry that this wasn't fun for you anymore Sizza. :( You didn't insult me. Like I said, everyone should take the possibilty of an unfair contest very seriously. I know I would not want to participate in a stacked contest and I do not want to be associated with anything of that nature. Sorry if I overreacted. It may be selfish but I just don't want others to think I'm a biased judge :P

I wish that both of you would stay in the contest. I understand you leaving, if you feel we are being unfair then that is a justifiable reason in my eyes. Leaving because App thinks you were accusing her of.. whatever she thought, is silly though. I am not totally sure why she left in the first place, while you did use her picture as an example I don't think that you were singling her out intentionally/exclusivly.
If either of you change your mind: rest assured, this issue will not have any weight whatsoever for any of the contestants future scores.

14th Jul 2007, 11:52 PM
I am not totally sure why she left in the first place, while you did use her picture as an example I don't think that you were singling her out intentionally/exclusivly.
I think it was because I used her image, I wasn't picking on her though.

15th Jul 2007, 12:31 AM
Okay, sorry guys. I did overreact a bit. I am glad you cleared it up Sizza. I did feel like you singled me out. Now I think you should choose your words a bit wiser.

I got a short fuse, even shorter yesterday because I had to clear out a lot of incredibly stupid N00b entries at a large Harry Potter site where I am a moderator. (It's awfull a week before the new book comes out.) I guess it made me a bit forum-trigger-happy and still in mod-from-hell mood. No excuse, but a reason.

Anyway.. I appologise. I let off my steam and all, so I hope all should be good now. As ZT said, it's just pixeldollies.

I will try to restore my entries.... I don't have the text anymore.. but well.
I hope you'll come back in yourself, Sizza. No offence meant, should mean, I guess, no offence taken and I don't want Anonymous to end up with a contest without contestants.

15th Jul 2007, 12:43 AM
appel & sizza I hope you two stay. There've been too many drop outs and this contest is too good to lose so many great contestants. I enjoy every entry you've ever made Sizza (especially in Lady of Grace) and I'd hate to see you go. I'd hate to see ANYONE go.

15th Jul 2007, 12:50 AM
First off, I'd like to apologize to appelsapgodin. Pointing out her entry might very well have looked like I was picking on you, but I'm glad it got sorted out. I never meant to insult/offend anyone.
Also Tiánx had to go to a meeting with Posh spice and won't be with us no more....

I'm fat and I'm TRYING to lose some weight. Not that I expect to lose any, but it's the thought that counts, right?

What do you feel is the most challenging issue facing young women today? Men and their expectations. Many women are slaves by society. And who built the society primarily and made the "rules"? Men. Who makes the most popular fashion brands? Men. Who's in charge of the music labels, film companies and so on? Men. Who do we try to impress? Men (and a few try to impress women but that's beside my point). You catch my drift?

15th Jul 2007, 2:45 AM
great entry Sizza....especially the swim shot!

15th Jul 2007, 3:06 AM
Aw, thanks. I hope Appelsapgodin will put up her entries

15th Jul 2007, 4:41 AM
Thanks Sizza.... here they are, here they are. Glad we sorted that out.

Picture 1: Swimsuit (Bikini by Siluetta sims)

Picture 2: Lifestyle
I love to run. I love to win even more.

Onstage Question: What do you feel is the most challenging issue facing young women today?

Women themselves. We should not take it for granted that we get paid less than men for the same job. Or that we raise children and have a career on the sideline. There is no such thing as the glass-ceiling. If all women stood up for themselves there wouldn't be such problems. Men do not put us in this position, we put ourselves in it. Most women seem to be afraid to be called a bitch if they stand up for their own rights. That way we will never reach equality.

15th Jul 2007, 4:52 AM
My entry is done

Picture 1: Swimsuit (Bikini by Siluetta sims)

Picture 2: Lifestyle
I am a waternimph, so I love to swim and dive. But honestly, I don't need a swimsuit to do so.

Onstage Question: What do you feel is the most challenging issue facing young women today?

There are only 10 women in this world who look like supermodels-- they are the supermodels. The media gave most women/ girls the impression that skinny and flawless is best. I find this ridiculous. Beauty comes in all shapes and sizes. Love and appreciation aren't things you reach by starving yourself. Personality and style cannot be measured by just a slim appearance. If you are happy with who you are and try to live up to your full potential, then why care about what the rest of the world wants you to think?

15th Jul 2007, 8:53 AM
hi everyone. I am sorry I wasnt able to sign on all day and see that you guys were having problems :(
As Dour said, I dont think there is any favoritism--I don't know any of you lol I mean I think one or two of you were in a contest I judged in before? Or maybe even in a contest with me since I vaguely recognize a few of your names, but the only person I actually knew was calalily and she dropped out during round 1; and even with her, I dont think we showed favoritism.

When I am judging, I dont look at your names, my scoresheet (in Word) just has your contestant # and I click through the links on Post#1 to see each of your entries.
I am glad you both decided to stay in the contest and I hope that this contest remains fun for you :)
Leaving us this round:
#1 Oxana Maanyja (readysetgo88) **Disqualified** (no entry)
#14 Tiánx Masell (Sizza) **Disqualified** (no entry)

Daltonism has been granted an extension to post an entry (a few hours)

There will also be 3 eliminations based on judges scores for this round (if Daltonism doesnt get an entry in--it will be 2 eliminations); so I will wait to post up round 3 details. For now I will just give some hints :)
Round 3 will involve: Travel, a male model, and of course, fun! :D

15th Jul 2007, 10:53 AM

I just have fun when I work out, that way I wont get bored of it.

What do you feel is the most challenging issue facing young women today?
Young woman always have to look nice and be nice. But I say, let your personality shine through! Why should we pretend to be someone we're not?! I'll be frumpy and grumpy if I want because that's just me. And all woman (young and old) should have that attitude. And as for looking nice, everyone is beautiful, on the inside and out. So what has Bue gotta say about it? Shut up about it and be yourself.

If I get eliminated it's because I had to rush. And I'm so bad at sticking sims on better backgrounds, it always looks so fake. :(

15th Jul 2007, 11:28 AM
OMG... sorry... I have the pics but I didn't have time to send them... I'm really sorry :(

EDIT: thanks!

15th Jul 2007, 11:29 AM
if you post them right now, you can still be included :)

15th Jul 2007, 11:37 AM

What do you feel is the most challenging issue facing young women today?

I believe that the greatest problem for the young women both the comparison with the very beautiful and perfect women of the mass media.

15th Jul 2007, 11:47 AM
great! OK there will be 4 eliminations this round, the judges have been notified and when I get the results I will post them and post up round 3 details :D

15th Jul 2007, 10:43 PM
Any word from the judges?

15th Jul 2007, 10:55 PM
I'm anxious to find out if I've been eliminated.
I probably will be, it was so rushed. :(

Ohwell! lol

15th Jul 2007, 11:37 PM
Daltonsim I think the shot of your model on the beach is great!

Good luck everyone!!!!!!!!!! :dsausage:

16th Jul 2007, 1:52 AM
everyone great work! my results are in! :D

16th Jul 2007, 12:37 PM
One of the judges didn't submit comments, but all of them provided scores so here are the results :)

Here is the judging criteria for all rounds:
Followed Directions yes = 3 points no = 1 point
Onstage Question 1 to 5 points
Fashion Style 1 to 5 points
Personality 1 to 5 points
Overall Uniqueness 1 to 5 points
Overall Creativity 1 to 5 points
Overall Beauty 1 to 10 points

Judges' Round Favorites: #23, #15, and #12 (these are not in any particular order)

2) Total Score: 124
I like the first picture (even though you didn’t have your wings :p) but I'm not sure about the background on the second one. Your sim looks beautiful in both. You chose a good issue for your response to the onstage question.
Great entry
Picture one is great, picture two’s background could use a little softening or sharpening. The way you answered the question is amazing.

4) Total Score: 112
I would have liked to see your sim's face a bit more in the first picture. Your sim looks nice in both. You chose a good issue for your response to the onstage question.
Great entry
Picture one is very creative and different. Picture two is a bit plain if you ask me. Your onstage question was superb!

10) Total Score: 115
I like the first picture, although I would have liked to see your sim's face a bit more. Can't really tell that she is working out in the second picture and who works out in skirts? lol I'm not sure you understood the onstage question? I agree with her opinion, but I'm not sure "being nice" is a challenging issue.
Lets see some more of her face! This is a beauty contest, after all :p Also, your onstage answer did not address women-specific issues.
She’s very pretty but your photo one looks normal to me. There’s nothing so ‘wow’ about it. Your photo two is great! I loved how you made it look like she’s looking in the mirror. =) Your onstage question was good, very tough and straightforward.

11) Total Score: 109
I would have liked to see your sim's face a bit more in the first picture--maybe choose a different angle? She looks very pretty in the second picture.
This is a beauty contest, lets bring these photos in and show off the face!
Dieting?! That is so correct! :D lol, anyway your second photo is great. Maybe a few lightings would improve it. Your first photo looks flat. The sky looks fake. But if that was improved, I think you may have done a better job.

12) Total Score: 130
Wow I loved reading your onstage question. Anyway, your first photo is gorgeous! She looks beautiful in there. Your second photo is amazing too!
You looked stunning in this round. Keep it up
In the first picture she appears to be floating above the water lol but it’s a very pretty picture and she looks beautiful in it. I like the marathon picture, especially the look on her face. Interesting choice for your onstage question issue.

13) Total Score: 101
I would have liked to see your sim's face a bit more in the first picture (how deep is that lake she’s diving into lol :p). She should be a bit happier about exercise and not just doing it to lose weight (healthy doesn’t have to mean skinny :p). Men's dominance over society may be, but they themselves aren't (no matter how much you dislike a person they cant be an issue you can only have issues with them)
Girl, you are beautiful as you are :) Only lose weight if you think it is interfering with your health! Your onstage answer was interesting, you said that only some women try to impress other women, but in reality I believe that all women are trying to impress other women. Sort of a 'rub it in your face' type impress... but hey :p Good entry
Is she going to dive into a lake!? Because it doesn’t look much like a beach to me. Your second photo’s great and I really loved the way you answered your question!

15) Total Score: 140
Very lovely photos. I noticed that she is squinting in both of her pictures though. You picked a great "issue" for your onstage question. Overall wonderful entry
Great entry, fashionable, intelligent, and yet casual. Nailed it
Amazing photos. Your first photo is great and so is your second photo. Second photo would probably have to be your strongest. Your onstage question was great too!

16) Total Score: 111
The first picture was taken at night when the task was "fun in the sun". She looks beautiful in both pictures. I don't feel your answer to the onstage question was complete. Overall good entry.
Your onstage question did not address women-specific issues. Though you did present it in a way that was interesting! Good entry. (I love that red swimsuit with your hair)
What is she suppose to be doing in photo one? Photo two, I think a different camera angle would have been better. Your onstage question was convincing.

17) Total Score: 112
She’s very pretty Pors. Your photos are amazing. Your onstage question was provoking too :D Great softening and lighting effects.
Your onstage answer did not address issues of young women, but rather of people in general (not that the point wasn't valid, it just didn't address women-specific issues).
I think your sim's hair in the first picture doesn’t match what she's doing (it looks a bit too fancy to be out in the sand). Overall good entry.

19) Total Score: 125
Overall great entry
good entry. Love the dophin.
Your photos are amazing! The first photo is very elegant like and your second photo is creative. Your onstage question reply was great.

21) Total Score: 48 (low score due to 2 zero scores--pictures were missing by the time the judges saw your entry)

23) Total Score: 130
Overall great entry
Good entry
Wow is all I can say!. Your photos are great and your poses are neat! I loved photo two.

24) Total Score: 120
That’s a very interesting outfit she has on in the second picture. I would have liked to see more of her face in the pictures-maybe a different angle? I don’t think the answer to the onstage question was complete. Overall good entry.
Good entry
Lena would most probably be the prettiest sim here. Your photos are amazing (both of them). Your photo one has to be the best for me. You’ve got fashion taste and style.

25) Total Score: 123
You’re very creative and Deir looks like a fun friend to hang out with. Your photos are stunning.
As Polonius said: “To thine own self be true” Course, his meaning and what I assume to be your own are not quite one in the same. I am not sure why your answer pertains only to women. Finding and keeping yourself in perspective is something that is a challenge for humanity, not women exclusively. Good entry.
Overall great entry

16th Jul 2007, 6:59 PM
normally i wouldnt double-post, but the results for last round, and details for this one, i would like to keep separate (so i can post links in the Original Post)

Based on Round 2 Results, the following people have been eliminated (based on scores for this round only):
#11 Genvira Ford (shelbnumber1)
#13 Cylo Vazx (Sizza)
#16 Lewie Tegdirb (Zaggytiddies)
#21 Xaviera Juwanna (havaianascookie) -- you should stop using photobucket since they keep deleting your pictures before we can all judge them :(

I am sorry to see you girls go, but as with all contests, there has to be eliminations.

Round 3: Casual and Evening Wear
Welcome to Round 3! Congratulations to those of you who made it this far!
In this round we are taking our competition on a trip to show young women that you can have fun and still be classy!
Our trip takes us to the planet where all the rich and famous love to go on vacation: Hedona (similar to Earth’s Monaco (http://www.visitmonaco.com/)).
We would like to see your style, personality, and beauty shine in Casual and Evening Wear while you enjoy your time in this wonderful location.
Depending on number of entries, there will be about 4 eliminations this round.
For tips, read the first post of this thread under the "tips" banner :) Remember, you're trying to show off your unique beauty while you have fun :D

**For this round: Try to use as little amount of photoshopping as possible**

Round Requirement: this round, your requirements are for picture#2 only. You need to use one of HP’s Sims (http://www.modthesims2.com/member.php?u=31337) as your male model, and you need to wear an evening gown from bruno at MTS2 (http://www.modthesims2.com/showthread.php?t=228573) or LianaSims (http://lianasims2.com)

Picture 1: Casual About Town
Your sim should be dressed in nice (casual) clothing as she enjoys her day—shopping, gambling, eating with friends, or just walking the streets. Remember: you are visiting an extravagant place where the rich and famous frolic lol

Picture 2: Glam Evening
Your sim should be posed in a gorgeous gown with a male model enjoying the summer evening together—having dinner, enjoying a show, or just walking arm-in-arm and talking. Remember: your sim needs to be the focus, not the male model :)

Onstage Question: If you could meet anyone in the galaxy (living or not) who would it be and what would you talk to them about?

Round 3 ends on July 20 at Midnight PST (Countdown Clock (http://www.makeacountdown.com/?id=300116))

16th Jul 2007, 7:14 PM
Maybe it would be better if there were different favorites each round instead of just the same people every time.

Just a suggestion. ;)

16th Jul 2007, 7:39 PM
there hasnt been the same every time, application round was different, round 1 and 2 happened to have the same ones though.
Most of the judges dont have the same favorites, because we all like different things. The top 3 are the ones more than 2 of us agreed on.
Since its a problem, I will just ask them not to pick 3 favorites for the next two rounds :)

16th Jul 2007, 8:08 PM
No, I'm not saying in that kind of way, lol. Goodness no.

It's not really a problem, but it'd be better for other people who did really well this round. Instead of just the usuals. Tis all. :anime:

The favorites idea is a good idea, but it should be different people entirely each round.

16th Jul 2007, 9:51 PM
Aww. Oh well, that's life

16th Jul 2007, 10:06 PM
Whew....I was so nervouse, especially since Dajianna didn't have her wings in the swimwear shot! Thanks judges for the score and comments!!!!

16th Jul 2007, 10:06 PM
lol... I guess I missed the "Fun in the Sun" part... I just took it more as a swim suit shoot... lol Oh well. Good luck to the rest! :)

17th Jul 2007, 4:09 AM
This round sounds like so much fun. I got my dress, but the male models are giving me a problem..or rather MTS2 is. I always have so much trouble downloading from MTS2...it seems to take FOREVER to download even the smallest files. I started downloading one of HP's sims and about 5 minutes later it was only at 47% and had stopped downloading. I've tried the other models..and the same thing. Maybe MTS2 is having some lag lately, so I'll try again tomorrow. I know it's not my internet because other sites download fine.

17th Jul 2007, 6:13 AM
It's not just you. I had to try multiple times to download the male sim too. Just keep trying or wait later.

17th Jul 2007, 6:49 AM
Oh gosh!
I forgot to put Bue's wings on!

And sorry to see you guys going! I guess I narrowly missed being eliminated. *gulp*

17th Jul 2007, 10:38 AM
The model went fine for me... but the dresses won't. (But I have some of the sugercoma-stuff already so.. np.)

Ah well I am used to MTS2 being slow. I can cook dinner during 1 download usually. (And I am on a superquick LAN connection.. sigh.. lol.. it's internet like the old dial-up days.)

edit: Just as redwing says in the post after this, when I installed (un-rar-ed) him into my downloads folder I got a message saying the dl (corvus) was corrupt too. I dunno if this is because MTS2 is having issues, since I do believe HPs work is of excellent quality and it's odd something should be corrupted. Ehmmm.. maybe you should indeed better let us use one of our own sims???

17th Jul 2007, 12:24 PM
From MTS2, just now:

Downloads will be down much of the day as I continue work on them.

ALERT: I tried to download "Martin Gore" (an HP sim) and was advised, when the download was apparently aborted, that the file is corrupt.

Anonymous...I have a couple of Bruno's dresses from MTS2 from a download made a few weeks ago, so the gowns are not a problem for me.

But the corrupt file at HP has scared me because I've had trouble with contest downloads in the past...one time last fall it cost me $150 to correct the problems such a download caused me. I don't want to risk it again.

May I use a male sim of my own choice instead?

17th Jul 2007, 4:27 PM
I was lucky to download just before it went down. Phew.
Unfortunately, I will now have problems downloading things for my story. x.x

I'm getting on to this now. But one question, in the first picture can your sim be with friends? And can these firneds be human?

Also, can we make up someone from your own galaxy to meet or do you want it to be someone the judges will have heard of?

17th Jul 2007, 8:26 PM
Hp's male model that I finally downloaded was corrupt as well. I'll give MTS2 a bit to fix whatever they need to and I'll try again later.

17th Jul 2007, 10:19 PM
I have no idea what is going on with mts2, I'm on the special server so when there are problems, I'm normally not affected. I have never had a corrupted download so I wouldnt know what to tell you about that (unless its due to using qxpress?)
I just checked mts2 right now and it says downloads are online--I tried downloading Corvus, and it downloaded successfully (no corruption) the normal way (no qxpress). It took a bit longer than usual but thats because everyone sees "Downloads are online" and is bombarding the site.
If you still cannot download one of HP's sims (or one by linuslover30 (http://www.modthesims2.com/creator/linuslover30)) within the next day or so, choose one from the s2c official contest sim sharing thread (http://forums.sims2community.com/showthread.php?t=37046)
The reason why I don't want you guys to use your own male model is because I want it to be equal and fair for everyone.

Please make sure to include your contestant's name and the round in your post's title....and please give the male model's name/creator somewhere in your post. Remember there is also another requirement--for the evening gown.

Other questions:
for task#1, you CAN have friends in the picture and they can be of any race, just make sure your sim is the focus of the picture
for onstage question, it can be anyone, even someone from the galaxy ("made up"), the judges will be looking at the creativity and thoughtfulness of your answer, not whether we recognize the name or not. It could be your grandmother, a goddess, an egyptian pharaoh, whatever--its entirely up to you :)

18th Jul 2007, 7:10 AM
I finally got a male model downloaded and working (from linuslover30), so I will be working on my entry now.

19th Jul 2007, 6:02 AM
My sim won't stop frowning! grrr. It's annoying. I can't take a pic of her if she keeps looking pissed off.

19th Jul 2007, 6:27 AM
I have my pictures taken and everything, but in the one with the male model, she's sitting on his lap so you can't really see her face. Will this lose me points?

I have my pictures taken and everything, but in the one with the male model, she's sitting on his lap so you can't really see her face. Will this lose me points?I think it probably will, in the round description Anonymous said we were to include the male model, but our contestant needs to be the main focus of the picture - you need to show off how beautiful she looks.

It's very tricky...I'm still working on my pictures!

19th Jul 2007, 11:50 AM
My sim won't stop frowning! grrr. It's annoying. I can't take a pic of her if she keeps looking pissed off.
You mean she's stuck or just that she does the frowning animation by herself. If your sim is stuck, try moving her out of the house, and then in again. It worked with me when my sim had the pool-water animation stuck around her neck.

19th Jul 2007, 12:47 PM
No photoshopping??? Arghhh then how will I get the lightning settings right? Just kidding... I had fun building these huge sets, (Thanks to the lovely lot builders on MTS2) and I discovered that if you set all graphic options on high, the sky has stars!!!!!!!! Wooooot. I would have added a moon, but as you said... NO PHOTOSHOP! Sigh.. lol....

Allright Hope you guys like this, I had incredibly much fun setting these pics up at least.

Picture 1: Casual About Town
When in Hedona, do as the Hedonans do: Play poker.

Picture 2: Glam Evening
That night in the harbor must have been the most romantic in my life. (Dress by Lianasims, Male model (Adam Morena) by HystericalParoxysm.)

Onstage Question: If you could meet anyone in the galaxy (living or not) who would it be and what would you talk to them about?

I would love to meet the legendary Lord Tzu. He lived ages ago (before the Dark Elves started counting time) and wrote a famous book about the philosophy of war: The Art of War. This book is a guidance to winning a war without any bloodshed, we Elves considder it the definitive work on military strategies and tactics. I would love to have a drink with him and talk about long gone battles. He could probably teach me something that would be valuable for my future as a ruler in Sapphire city.

HP is short for HystericalParoxysm, a mod here and a creator on modthesims2.com

Onstage Question: If you could meet anyone in the galaxy (living or not), who would it be and what would you talk to them about? Tough question!! Narrowing it down to only one person taint an easy task. OK, I’ll say Bickaring Flagrotto, because she’s sort of a cross between Dolly Parton and Mother Teresa and because women owe her so much. I’d love to talk to her about her work with flat-chested, spotlight-addicted Venusians, not to mention finding out how she discovered what George Clooney and Clive Owen do on their weekend retreats to Zephyr. I think meeting Bickaring would be very rewarding, don’t you agree?

Onstage Question: If you could meet anyone in the galaxy (living or not) who would it be and what would you talk to them about?

If I could meet anyone in the galaxy, I would like to meet my grandmother, Jai’Lanthu. From the stories I have heard of her, she was a remarkable woman, and the topic I would most like to discuss with her would be our family. Sadly, she passed into the next realm when my mother was a child, and there is just so much about our family’s history that I would have liked to be able to learn from her.

Task 1

Task 2

If you could meet anyone in the galaxy (living or not) who would it be and what would you talk to them about?
I would like to meet Bella Mia - the eternal goddess of youth - and find out her secrets so that I can live a long, happy life and look fantastic while doing so. After all, what woman doesn't want that?

20th Jul 2007, 9:11 AM
Task 1 - Casual about town
After I arrived on Hedona, I changed into something comfortable and hit the town. Soon, I found myself in a gorgeous fashion boutgique and I only meant to look around a bit before doing some sight-seeing. But when I saw that fur, I couldn't help myself. I knew that would go great with the dress I'd bought a few stores down. Now, on the ride here to Hedona, I sat next to this wonderfully interesting man. He said his name was Vex. Well, we had a date that night, which is why I bought the satin dress that I did...and why I just HAD to have that fur.

Task 2 - Glam evening (dress by LianaSims, model by linuslover30)
Vex and I had a wonderful evening of dining and dancing. We got to know one another very well in a couple of hours and soon we were dancing to the wonderful music of Serina, a talented musical group from Hedona, as Vex explained to me. Now, doesn't that fur look amazing with my dress or what? Before, I was so amazed by it, but one look into Vex's eyes, and I forgot what color my dress was. Look at his eyes...my god....

If you could meet anyone in the galaxy (living or not) who would it be and what would you talk to them about? I would love to sit down with Mnemosyne. Never heard of her? Oh, well she was a most beautiful Greek Goddess of Memory. Oddly enough, despite her name, most have forgotten her importance in this world. Not only was she the Goddess of Memory, she also granted us the ability to reason. If I was given the chance to sit down with her, I would talk about the passage into the Underworld. The ancients believe that when one died and passed into the Underworld, you were given the choice to drink from the pool of Lethe and forgot everything you've ever known, or you could drink from the Mnemosyne and pass on to a peaceful eternity. Those who chose to forget, were reborn and returned to earth to learn all that they had not before. I feel as though I am the ancient that may have guided these souls to their choice and let them drink. Although the Goddess of Forgetfulness is also important, Mnemosyne has always been a comforting figure in my mind.

wow the entries so far are great!
Round 3 ends in about 16 hours so if you dont already have your entry in, please make sure to get it in soon or pm me for an extension :)

Sorry, I don't think Akirakana will be able to make the deadline.. my internet at home hasn't been working all day .. sigh.

And well since I will be picking up the next Harry Potter in about 6 hours, I don't think it would be fair to ask for an extension. I am up for a long night of reading, not for playing with pixeldolls today.

Casual wear - out around the old quarter
I went shopping with my friends, but we left our bags in the taxi. Or shall I say it left them! Stupid Mazi.

Evening time (Dress by Bruno at MTS2 and male simmie by HP)
I got on very well with Jack, he was nice. I even got his number!

If you could meet anyone in the galaxy (living or not) who would it be and what would you talk to them about?
I would want to meet my great great great great grandma. She was a slave for a rich human family that lived on my "home planet". But she stood up to their mimics and beatings, so I admire her alot and I would have loved to of given her proper company. I also would have liked to talk to her about her views on the politics in my home planet. She sounded fun, real feisty like me.

It isn't too good. And I noticed that many of you had the same dress as Bue/she had the same dress as you. Oh well. ;)

Picture 1: Casual About Town

Because I was having a date with a male model, I decided to pamper myself! So I went shopping for a new dress, and found an exclusive little salon and they made me look even more beautiful!! (I got hair extensions!)

Picture 2: Glam Evening (Dress by Bruno)

Wow is all I have to say! My date was a model called Eros Aristaeus and he was absolutely stunning! He took me out for dinner, and then flirted with me on a starlit patio overlooking the ocean! So romantic!

Onstage Question: If you could meet anyone in the galaxy (living or not) who would it be and what would you talk to them about?

I have become fascinated with the history of Earth, and I would love to meet the late Emmeline Pankhurst - one of the founders of the British suffragette movement, she dedicated her life to gaining the vote for women. I would love to speak to her about her long struggle, her utimate victory, and how she felt when she realised that she had achieved her dream!

I hope my glam evening pic is ok...I couldn't get any stars into the shot, so I added a few. Its only very minimal photoshopping which you said was ok Anonymous :)

20th Jul 2007, 11:46 PM
Murie and Elise are my dearest friends. We love to go shopping on Palm Drive to check out the hottest fashion and guys.

It's so very romantic being serenaded in a lovely garden at night. Candles add to the ambiance.

Onstage Question: If you could meet anyone in the galaxy (living or not) who would it be and what would you talk to them about?
Although this person is only a fictional chacracter, I'd love to meet Xena the Warrior Princess. I love strong women fighters, so I've always though she was a kick-ass heroine. I'd ask her to teach me how to use her chakram and some of her sweet fighting skills. Of course, I'd only use what I learn to defend myself.

Ok we have had one drop out and one disqualification (fiffa didnt post her entry before midnight nor finish it :( ) so we will only be having 2 eliminations this round :)
I have pmed the judges and will be posting the scores tonight or tomorrow morning, and will then be giving final round details.
I am amazed by how well your entries were considering you were limited in using photoshop :) As you have proven this round, you can do exceptionally well without depending on it!

21st Jul 2007, 9:32 PM
my scores are in! Good luck everybody!

I hope that the results for this round, and the details for the next round are out soon...my fiance booked a last minute holiday...and we go tomorrow!!

If I am through to the last round, I'd hate to drop out!

Good luck everyone :)

I'm afraid I'm going to have to drop out, I was hoping that I'd have time tonight to complete my entry, but it's nearly 8pm here and I've got to pack for my holiday and prepare for a job interview I have tomorrow before I leave. I'm sorry to let you down at the last minute anonymous, I know I explained this in my pm, but I was hoping you would put the last round up so I could work on it today if I'd got through. Good luck to everyone, I'll check out who won when I get back...

22nd Jul 2007, 9:15 PM
Sorry to see you go Lipsy!
I really liked your sim and it's sad you had to drop out.
I was hopong it would be up now so I could plan it.

23rd Jul 2007, 12:25 AM
I am sorry I had planned on posting these this morning but I was waiting on a judge, and then I got wrapped up working with Delphy on getting my server ready.

One of the judges didn't submit comments, but all of them provided scores so here are the results :)

Here is the judging criteria for all rounds:
Followed Directions yes = 3 points no = 1 point
Onstage Question 1 to 5 points
Fashion Style 1 to 5 points
Personality 1 to 5 points
Overall Uniqueness 1 to 5 points
Overall Creativity 1 to 5 points
Overall Beauty 1 to 10 points

Judges' Round Favorites: #23, #15, and #2 (these are not in any particular order)

2) Total Score: 126
Your friends seem to be more excited about your purchase than you are lol I really liked your answer. Overall great entry.
Task one looks absolutely amazing! Love the floor tiles and how they reflect. You’ve got great taste in style and your photo two is great. Long answer but I enjoyed reading it! Is that model by Hp because you wrote linuslover30
Great entry

4) Total Score: 110
Her pose in photo one is a bit plain if you ask me. Photo two’s great but there’s something about her hair that irritates me. Your onstage question reply was superb!! Indeed, her grandmother does sound like one ‘remarkable’ lady
I like the detail you put into your background in the first picture. I really liked your answer. Overall good entry.
Good entry

10) Total Score: 123
Creative first picture. Second picture is a bit too dark. I liked your answer to the onstage question.
Oooh, another one who wants to meet her grandmother! Great way on replying! Anyway, your first photo is stunning. The mixture of people and outfits really go. Your second photo is a bit dark but dark’s romantic right?
I know it's evening but your face is so dark, I can't even tell it's you!

12) Total Score: 136
You spent alot of time and took alot of effort putting together your "sets". These pictures are better than alot of photoshopped ones :) Your poses were good. Overall great entry.
Wow a perfect score! I love Nelesquinn to bits! She’s so unique and your first photo is just ‘wow’. They look so realistic and the sets are amazing. Your second photo looks so romantic!! The strong point I see in you is your personality.
Great entry, love that dress.

15) Total Score: 134
Wow photo one is gorgeous; the background looks fantastic. Your second photo is great but there’s something just weird about the guy’s pose. Overall you’re great but I think the strongest thing you have in this competition towards the others is your sense of fashion.
You spent alot of time and took alot of effort putting together your "sets". Your poses are great. These pictures are better than alot of photoshopped ones :) Overall great entry.
I adore the set you built for the afternoon scene.

17) Total Score: 109
The second photo looks a bit plain but I like her expression. Overall good entry.
Photo one is great, but photo two seems a bit simple. The dress is nice though but there’s nothing so exquisite in the background and that makes the photo a bore.
good entry

23) Total Score: 131
You spent alot of time and took alot of effort putting together your "sets". These pictures are better than alot of photoshopped ones :) Overall great entry.
The backgrounds in your photos are stunning especially the hairdresser shot. I would have changed the hairstyle in the second photo, it just doesn’t go with the ‘glam look’
Nice extensions :)

25) Total Score: 116
That is an odd pose for "lunch" lol I like the look on her face in picture 2. An interesting answer to the onstage question.
Who’s the male model by? Flyingpigeon or Hp? Anyway, your first photo is okay but your second photo is…odd. The chandeliers in the background don’t look that realistic and elegant to me. And her body looks chopped off. She practically looks larger that the male. But your answer was convincing.
Great entry

23rd Jul 2007, 12:44 AM
Since we had 2 drop-outs and 1 disqualification, we will not be having any eliminations this round. So everyone moves on to the final round :)

Round 4: Candid Camera
Congratulations to our finalists!
For this round, you will be attending a huge outdoor costume party sponsored by the pageant, and you will be doing charity work.

These pictures should be candid shots (pretend this is part of the taped version of the beauty pageant so there’s a video camera following them around). Candid means they shouldnt be looking at the camera, as if the camera isn't there.
For tips, read the first post of this thread under the "tips" banner :)
Remember to wear different clothes, hair, makeup for each picture!

**For this round: you may have other sims (of any race) in the background but your sim must be the focus, and you may not photoshop the scenery/backgrounds**

Round Requirement: you need to wear makeup by Iced Mango (http://lapink.net) (either her site or her mts2 profile) or KamiKitten (http://kamikitten.net) in both pictures (please mention the name of the makeup you chose or at least the creator), and you need to wear casual clothing from MTS2 in the first picture (please credit the creator with a link to the thread).

Picture 1: Charity Work
Your sim should be dressed in casual clothing doing some sort of charity work. Make sure their appearance matches what they are doing (for instance if they are doing some sort of construction work they should be dirty and have messy hair or a hat on). Remember: we have to be able to tell you are doing charity work in this picture, not just another day in the life of your sim :)

Picture 2: Costume Gala
Your sim should be having fun at an outdoor costume party. This means your set must be outdoors, your sim must be wearing some sort of costume, and they should look like they are having fun (not Paris Hilton fun, classy fun ;) )

Onstage Question: If you won a million dollars and had to be selfless with it (could not spend it on yourself at all), how would you spend it?

Final Round ends July 27 at 6am PST (Countdown Clock (http://www.makeacountdown.com/?id=301175))

23rd Jul 2007, 1:05 AM
Oooh!! Mnemosyne!!
I'm really glad Dajianna has made it so far! She's definitely one of my favorites. Good luck!!

23rd Jul 2007, 9:10 AM
Task 1 - Charity
(jeans from HP (http://www.modthesims2.com/showthread.php?t=228762) at MTS2; shirt(tank) by WykydSyn (http://www.modthesims2.com/showthread.php?t=203327) (ME!) @ MTS2-all makeup by IcedMango)
While I'm here, participating in this pageant, I decided to do a bit of charity work on the side. Children are the most precious, innocent beings in the entire univers (no matter their rave, color, etc), and to see them suffering si too horrible a feeling for words. I arrived at the children's hospital and spent a bit of time with Ellie. She's a wonderful little soul, but cancer has stripped her of her future. I bought her a HUGE teddy bear, and a smaller one, which we played with for a while. I'm sad to know, that in my line of work....I will be seeing her all too soon.

Task 2 - Costume Party
(all makeup by Iced Mango)
The pageant hosted this wonderful costume party. Unfortunately Vex, my handsome date from Hedona, could not join me, but I met some wonderful and interesting people. They demanded I learn this odd dance called "smustle". I hope I pronounced that correctly; it's an odd word. Anyhow, it took a bit, but I picked up on the dance and before I knew it the group I danced with were still smustling long after the rest of the party retired to their homes. I made fast friends with the lady in the Ape costume. I had decided to be a bride...well..because I'll never have the chance to be one.

Onstage Question: If you won a million dollars and had to be selfless with it (could not spend it on yourself at all), how would you spend it?
As I said earlier, teen pregnancy is a growing concern and I'd invest half a million into educating the young girls and boys (can't forget them...it takes two to tango). Some of that money would go towards helping young girls understand sex and pregnancy, as well as helping those that are already in trouble. The other half a million would go towards cancer research. Ellie instilled in me a great desire to never see her cross into the Underworld and show up at my feet. I never grow accustomed to children crossing over, and I'd hope that the money would do some good and get these children the adequate help they need. Also, I would hope that it would help reasearchers develop a cure devoid of any side effects, so these children may enjoy the future that's prematurely dying right before their eyes.

If Dajianna's too far away in the charity shot, I can retake it.

23rd Jul 2007, 4:12 PM
I'm afraid I'm dropping out. There seems to be some favoritism here. And I had planned to answer my onstage question using my great (great great, etc) grandmother as soon as I saw the details and I didn't appreciate the comment made on that. And I just feel that some people are getting better scores than others and better comments even though their entries were equal in quality. Never mind though and I wish everyone left the best of luck and I'll keep on watching for the last round. ;)

23rd Jul 2007, 7:11 PM
People have different tastes in what they like, hence having more than one judge. Something you like is probably not going to be something another person likes, that you have deal with. I can assure you that not all of these entries were on the same level. Take the comments for what they are, don't whine about it. Even if you think someone's entry is the same level doesn't mean the judges will, or should even feel obligated to. You signed up for the contest and saw that Jess was including comments, and well, if you can't handle the criticism you shouldn't be in the contest community.

Ahem, right, great contest Jess, just throwing in my two cents whether it was wanted or not. :)

23rd Jul 2007, 7:24 PM
K, well I wont spam any more, but just in reply to that:

I totaly understand what you're saying and I took the criticism fine. It was just the comment made about the onstage question seemed a little... sarcastic to me. Tis all. Now I will goa nd stop spamming the thread.

I wont have enough time to do this round anyway because my firend has come over from spain and I wont be here due to a summer activity I will be doing.

23rd Jul 2007, 7:40 PM
You scored low points from me because your second picture was too dark. You were told to let us see your beauty, and we couldnt even see you.

I'm not going to argue with anyone over the favoritism topic again. It's insulting and untrue. Take a look at your pictures in comparison with the others, (not just Dalton, but everyone) Better entries are usually accomplished by taking more time to work on details like sets, poses, camera angles, etc and submitting a pic that you think you'd like if you were a judge. Should we punish those who accomplish this, just because you didn't think of it?

If you don't like your scores, or you don't like your comments, instead of thinking that everyone is against you and that there is some secret conspiracy against you, why don't you re-read those comments and take them to heart like an adult. Better yet, read EVERYONES comments so you know what mistakes not to make in the future. I know that we had told someone else that their pictures were too dark, or that their face was obscured in previous rounds.

23rd Jul 2007, 8:08 PM
i am sorry you feel the need to dropout daltonism
as for the grandmother comment, the judge meant it more as "aww how sweet" not "god why cant you think of anything else", no sarcasm.
if any of you, have question or issue with your scores or comments, please pm me so we can discuss it :)

23rd Jul 2007, 8:42 PM
Oh, okay. I guess I took it the wrong way. I saw it as the judge saying is sarcasticaly. But obviously it wasn't that way. I had no issue with comment about it being dar, because I know that myself. And I also understand that yes, there are people with far better entries than mine. I just want to clear that. But it's obvious that I didn't put it the right way and it got misunderstood. :anime:

And as I said before, I would have had to drop out anyway, as I have very little time for contests over the next week. Sorry! And I'm sorry for any trouble I have caused by posting my comment. Maybe it was illy thought out. But at the time, it seemed unfair to me.

And again (and, and, and) good luck to all of you, and this contest has been run very well. ;)

23rd Jul 2007, 9:04 PM
Wow..there have been so many dropouts in this contenst. lol If I hang in there, I may win by default! lol

25th Jul 2007, 2:02 PM
Dalton, just adding here but I'm sure non of the judges here favour anyone. I think it's just a matter of trying to get you and everyone else to improve your/their photos. Anyway sorry to hear you dropping out . I'm sure if you read the comment properly and improved your photo, you could have done great. =)
Anyway Mnemosyne, your photos are great! I love the hospital shot.
As for everyone else. Goodluck with the final round. =)

25th Jul 2007, 7:44 PM
final round ends in 1 day and 18 hours :)
I can't wait to see all of your entries!

In this round all make up is by Iced mango. (Except the facial masks (mostly barcelonista or maxis) and the lipstick in picture 2 which is by kamikitten.) Casual Outfit in Picture 1 by Sonarisa. (http://www.modthesims2.com/showthread.php?t=230648)

Picture 1: Charity Work

Adam and I really liked eachother. So when he asked me if I could juggle, I smiled and said "Of course." He told me to meet him at the hospital the next day and that we would be doing something fun. I should wear black and white and it was a surprise.
Well you can understand how surprised I really was when it turned out he volunteered as a hospital clown. Not only the kids had a great afternoon, but I think it is the best time I had in ages too.

Picture 2: Costume Gala

I could have danced all night between the trees.

Onstage Question: If you won a million dollars and had to be selfless with it (could not spend it on yourself at all), how would you spend it?

I regard poverty as being equal to a lack of rights. Due to a lack of basic rights, people that live in poverty do not have (sufficient) access to power, materiel resources and basic services. This leads to hunger, exclusion, exploitation, a lack of opportunities and inequality.

A million dollars is unfortunately not enough to accomplish world peace or feed all the hungry people in this world. I would invest it in the many mini-cooperations there are being set-up in the third world. This way the money can be used to teach people about things like agriculture, politics, equality and technology while they at the same time develop their own business. If people are well educated and can use their knowledge to support themselves then this knowledge will give them the power to make their own better world.

27th Jul 2007, 4:02 AM

It seems that no matter where I travel, facilities intended to assist the homeless are always overwhelmed and understaffed. That is why I like to volunteer time at such facilities whenever I have the opportunity.

Picture 2: Costume Gala
Having received an invitation to a costume gala, I decided to attend dressed as Lady Dracula, and I had a wonderful time; the string quartet helped to create a lovely atmosphere, and the “Starfighter Pilot” told the most interesting stories.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v677/starphyre77/Contests/Galaxy/cost1.jpg (http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v677/starphyre77/Contests/Galaxy/cost2.jpg)

Onstage Question: If you won a million dollars and had to be selfless with it (could not spend it on yourself at all), how would you spend it?

If I won a million dollars and had to be selfless with it, I would use it to help homeless families. Of course I understand that this would be a daunting task as there are nearly 100,000 homeless families in the United States alone, so obviously one million dollars would not be enough to aid all of them. Thus, it would become necessary to focus on utilizing the funds in a manner which would make a significant difference to as many as possible.

To that end, I would – after an arduous and most likely unpleasant screening process – give 50 homeless families $20,000 to help them get back on their feet. However, since many people find it extremely difficult to accept charity from strangers, I would inform the families that the money would in fact be a loan. One which would be due in ten years, but instead of coming back to me, it must be lent to another family in need.

I realize that helping just 50 families every ten years would not make much of a difference on the number of homeless families in the world, but that money would make a world of difference to those families which would receive it.

Yes the round finished 2 hours ago. I'm not sure why BP said it was supposed to end last night though since it's not scheduled to end til the 28th (tomorrow).
Anyways I will be pming the judges right now and posting up their scores and comments. Then announcing the winner :)

2) Total Score: 119
You spent alot of time on your sets; it really shows. Your sim doesnt really look very happy to be doing the charity work though; makes me wonder if she's there to help them "move on" or entertain lol The party picture made me giggle :) Wonderful answer to the onstage question.
Your shots are beautiful! the dancing one looks so good! Your onstage question simply cant get better.
Your sets are beautiful. The lighting in your first photo could use a little work though. If I were a child I would be a little upset that (essentially) the grim reaper were coming to entertain me in the terminally ill ward of the hospital :p

Very creative charity work; she seems to be enjoying it too. Costume and appearance in the second picture are great, but the set doesn't look like a party. Wonderful (and creative) answer to the onstage question.
Your photos are great but the first one doenst bring up 'awe'. The onstage question is superb!
I love your idea of the 20,000 pay it foreward loan. Brilliant! :) You also look raidant as lady dracula. Excellent work on your sets, too.

12) Total Score: 131
You really spent a lot of time on your sets. I know it would have been nearly impossible but I would have liked to have had you be more central/closer for your charity photo. Brilliant entry.
Last to judge and the best i've seen! The backgrounds go great with the photos and so do the people in it.
You spent alot of time on your sets; it really shows. Your second picture really amazed me, but it wasnt your sim that amazed me, it was the overall picture. Your sim looks more like she's at a masquerade ball than a costume party. Your response to the onstage question was interesting.

Final Scores: (I suck at math but i used a calculator, if this amount is incorrect, please correct me!)
