View Full Version : "GRΣΣK" WINNERS ANNOUNCED! Comments and Scores Posted!

29th Aug 2007, 4:16 AM
This is "GRΣΣK" Cycle 1

Welcome to GRΣΣK! This contest will include all areas of challenge: Beauty, Building/Decorating and Other. Inspired by my earlier dorm decorating contests (The Perfect Dorm, Urele Fruhm Oresha and Hoh Nagard Hoh) and the new ABC TV Show "GRΣΣK," this contest will illustrate all concepts of a beauty pageant and a decorating contest along with some other surprises all happening during your Sims' most special time in life – college! We will be getting to know your young adult as they journey through their 4 college years at Sim State University.
NO SIM STEALING OR SIM TWEAKING. This is against S2C rules, and you will be disqualified immediately if its found that you are using a Sim who is not an original creation.
This is an elimination contest, and contestants will be cut every round (except the Application Round)
Do not ask in the thread where someone got their custom content; PM members for this information.
Minimum Photoshopping is fine but not necessary; you will not be scored on Photoshopping abilities.
You may enter up to two Sims. If you do, either enter one male and one female or two males. *See below for explaination.
Sims should be either YA's or Adults. They can be human, alien, zombie whatever!
About Judging:
There will be one winner in this contest who will be appointed Fraternity President (for the guys Greek House) or Sorority President (for the girls Greek House). Its a race to the win! Who will become the most popular Greek House President?! We should try for an equal number of female and male Sims in the contest in order to ensure a fair competition. Judges will be judging beauty, decorating abilities (ie originality and uniqueness) and overall creativity. *If you plan on entering two Sims, please enter either one male and one female or two males. Because contests always have more female entrants, you may not enter two females if you decide to enter two Sims.

:here: A NOTE ABOUT DECORATING: Please dont let this part of the competition turn you away from entering. I know what youre thinking: "Ive seen how people decorate in the decorating contests, and I could never decorate as good as them!" NOT TRUE. This contest isnt based solely on decorating skills, so judging on those parts of the competition will be based on creativity, uniqueness and originality (ie Did what you decorate really look like a bedroom? Simple right?!)

Great contest idea bP, you reeled me right in =)

Question: do our YA's have to be human?

Question: do our YA's have to be human?
Nope, they can be whatever species you want :)

29th Aug 2007, 6:18 AM
Wow BP I hadn't planned on entering anymore contests for a while.....but you've really got me thinking about this 1!!!!!!

29th Aug 2007, 6:22 AM
Yippi!! I guess I'm going to finally break down and buy University on Friday :)

29th Aug 2007, 7:44 AM
Belle... Thanks for the interest, although I do want to clarify something: you dont necessarily need the University EP to be in this contest. Just so you know :p
JaimeA... I would be honored if you joined! I hope you decide to post an application.

29th Aug 2007, 7:47 AM
lol, uhm....my games already loading XD I've never attempted to decorate a dorm, but then again I've JUST started decorating houses so it shouldn't be too bad!

29th Aug 2007, 7:49 AM
Sounds great. I may enter a male sim on the weekend. :)
I just hope that the building part won't be too difficult.

29th Aug 2007, 7:55 AM
I just hope that the building part won't be too difficult.
No, there is no building really... just making a room and decorating it. It can even be built like a set for all I will know :) Im sure everyone will be able to handle it.

Jesicot23... Looks great, and the background in the first picture is fine. Make sure to have 2 freeshots as well. But everyone has until the application deadline to edit their entries.

29th Aug 2007, 8:50 AM
Sounds cool :D I think I'll load the game right now and work on my app ... I can do that because actually I am sick today and don't have to go to work

However, that is not "the first ever contest which will include all areas of challenge" :P Mine's the same *lol* You probably had the idea earlier ... However, I'll be back wih my app in a few hours.

29th Aug 2007, 8:57 AM
Oooooh this looks so interesting! And it doesn't require the Uni EP either! *grins* I might just get an app. together.

We just have to make up a random three greek letters name for the house we pledge right?

29th Aug 2007, 8:58 AM
We just have to make up a random three greek letters name for the house we pledge right?
Yep. Or you can write it out in English letters (ex: Pi Beta Gamma)

29th Aug 2007, 9:07 AM
Oooooh this sounds fun I'm gonna enter this as soon as my game is up and running. :D

29th Aug 2007, 9:12 AM
This looks like a great contest BP! I will post my entry tomorrow :)

Oooh, I'm very much entering.

29th Aug 2007, 10:56 AM
BP can the bodyshot be taken against something like a brick wall or a wood panelled wall? or Do you want it done on something similar to the headshot?

29th Aug 2007, 1:18 PM
Does it have to be Sim State University? I have a YA male who will be going into college in 5 more game days. (who knows how long it will be in RL before I get a chance to play that house again, though.) But my neighborhood has all custom suburbs in it, including the University lot, and I don't want to associate any other suburbs. So right now my college campus is a Secret Society lot, a custom built luxury dorm which may or may not work properly because it hasn't been moved into yet, and a park across the street from the dorm. (If the dorm doesn't work as a dorm, I was going to changeLotZoning residential and just work it as a house.)

29th Aug 2007, 1:39 PM
Hmm... Doesn't sound like UV is needed at all. What would we need it for, anyway? It's useless most of the time. Besides, BP said we don't - scroll the page up.
Anyway, I don't have that EP anymore, and even if I had CDs I won't install UV 'cause I just don't like it. Exhaustingly boooorrrring.... Eat, sleep, go to class, study. Homework, homework, and - what a rebellion! - homework again. No time for parties, damn it =) Unless you cheat of course. Only way to win.

Wow! I see we have a lot of entries already :)

To clear up the questions:

o1. You do NOT need University to participate in this contest. You will not be downloading anything which requires it. The only reason you would want it is to have more "college age" stuff to work with when setting up your scenes for your entry pictures.

o2. Your Sim does not really have to be going to Sim State University (SSU). However, I will not accept pictures (which are supposed to look like they are on their campus) to have a desert terrain. SSU is grassy, and I would like your pictures of your Sim on campus to reflect that. Those rounds arent here yet though, and the rules will be detailed when it comes up.

o3. You can feel free to use any type of wall covering in your body shot, but your headshot MUST be taken on a white background.

EDIT: Ill get to linking everyone's applications when I get home from work.

29th Aug 2007, 7:09 PM
Hmm can you give me an example of the round?
I'm not sure I can enter, but I'm rather curious and it sound's very fun!

29th Aug 2007, 7:26 PM
Hmm can you give me an example of the round?
Of what round? The Application Round is pretty self-explanatory, and I would hate to give away what the future rounds will be about. As long as you can make a scene that looks like your Sim is at a college campus or in a classroom of some sort, you will be fine. And you dont need University for that (it just may make it easier). Im not sure why this is tripping everyone up...

I changed my bodyshot since you said it was ok to use any background, I didn't like the plain white background all that much....but then I'm not sure I like this one either so it might change AGAIN!!!
Looks good to me! But feel free to change around any of your pictures until the deadline.

This sounds really great, but I haven't ever entered a contest, so I'm nervous! And unsure about my schedule. When will apps end? Would most rounds give me some weekend time to work? :p

29th Aug 2007, 9:00 PM
Daisie, the first post says: "Applications are due Sunday 9.2.07 @ 9:oo pm Central Time", for the rest you'll have to wait until bP is back :)

Freshman Year

Welcome, Freshman, to your first year of college! So how does it feel to finally be out of your parents' house? You are living on your own and living by your own rules, and with every big step taken in life comes new and exciting experiences. This round illustrates your students' highlights of their first college year.

Task One: Firsts
So what happened during your first year in college? Did you meet the woman of your dreams? Did you attend your first frat party or get put on academic probation? College is full of "firsts," and this round will be illustrating those moments. What were your firsts?
3 pictures illustrating three different "firsts"

Task Two: "The Room"
So even though you are out of your parents' house, living in a dorm room can be a little... well... cramped! How did you make your teeny dorm room work?
1 Top-Down picture of The Room
2 pictures of The Room from any angle

**Note: All rooms should be no more than 10x10 squares, but any shape is acceptable. Be creative, and you will not be marked off for making the room slightly larger/smaller than indicated here. Just remember than dorm rooms are usually extremely small and cramped, and if your room looks like a spacious luxury bedroom suite you will be marked down.

Round 1 is due Friday, Sept 7th @ 6:oo pm US Central Time

3rd Sep 2007, 7:50 AM
Sounds cool, im excited! Good luck everyone!

3rd Sep 2007, 8:08 AM
There we go I've sent in my comments, as I didn't have any criteria, they are all positive :).

I hope you all have fun doing these next tasks because judging them will be just plain difficult.

3rd Sep 2007, 11:49 AM
1 Top-Down picture of The Room
Is this an aerial shot?

Other than that it sounds cool.

3rd Sep 2007, 11:57 AM
That's what top-down means from the top looking down... so an aerial shot.

3rd Sep 2007, 12:44 PM
Should there be bathrooms/showers in the dorm rooms? Or kitchens? At my school the dorms have them, but I know some don't so I thought I'd check.

And it's 10X10 so 100 squares all together? o.0 I don't think any of my bedrooms are ever that big! :P

3rd Sep 2007, 2:29 PM
Cool round. :)

The dorm room means just where they sleep/study, right? I hope so!

3rd Sep 2007, 2:56 PM
So it's just the room we're taking an aerial of... right?

3rd Sep 2007, 4:29 PM
Why did mine get deleted?

3rd Sep 2007, 4:34 PM
Probably because you didn't post at least two pictures in your app, that's the rule :)

3rd Sep 2007, 5:26 PM

Yes, take an aerial picture of the dorm room (along with two other shots). Dorm rooms are meant to be small, so think tiny and cramped with tons of stuff in them (this doesnt mean it cant be clean, just include clutter like books, school stuff, etc).

slytherin-girl... No, these are pictures taken only of the dorm room (where they sleep). No kitchens, common rooms, bathroom pictures are necessary (and will dock you points if you include them). And I had to give a limit on the room size, otherwise everyone would freak out and ask a million questions. A 10x10 limit will give you the freedom to have any shape room you desire.

Okay, thanks BP :) I was just thinking of the dorm rooms at my school (which do have all those things in each one :P)

Task One: Firsts
So my mom and dad dropped me off on Saturday, August 25th. I though everything was going to be okay. They told me to call my sister if I needed anything. I cried when I hugged my mom goodbye, but I thought the tears would stop. This was the first time I had been away from home. I wasn't one of those kids who went to summer camp... no, I said home with my mom and made cookies. I'm not what you call independent. I didn't know how to handle being alone for the first time. I didn't want anyone to see me, so I sneaked down to the girls bathroom and cried.

Things weren't really looking up for me. I met my roommate, Jaiden. She was a strange girl. Always talking about the moon and stars. She was a painter... not a very good one though. She rarely showered. And the room reaked of the wax that she put into her dreadlocks. I tried to stay out of the room as much as possible, but it was almost impossible to get any real studying done in the library. So when I had a big paper due or needed to cram for a test, I had to stay in the room. And that's when I first saw my roommate studying for her Astronomy exam. She held the book to her chest and told me that "Mother Moon would fill her heart with the knowledge from the textbook." It took everything I had not to laugh in her face.

Towards the end of fall semester, I finally made some friends. We would hang out at the ice arena, drinking hot chocolate and watching the hockey team practice. I wasn't much of a skater myself. But when the one hockey team's forwards, Trent, asked me out. It was my first date in college! Unfortunately, the date was to go skating at the arena. I made a complete fool of myself, but Trent helped me. He thought it was cute whenever I fell down. I thought he was the sweetest man alive helping me up. We shared our first kiss that night.

Task Two: "The Room"

Some freshman are lucky enough to get a dorm room to themselves. But I was late registering and got put in Applegrove... that means I share a room with another girl and we share a bathroom with the the whole floor. Fighting for the bathroom in the mornings isn't a pleasant thing to encounter.

I'm hoping to make it in to AOPi and get to live in the house next year. But if I don't make it into the house, hopefully I can get into a dorm where we have suites.

This is my side of the room. I try to keep it neat and tidy, but you know how it is in college... everything ends up shoved under your bed. I like geometric shapes, so much that my family teased me that I should have went into math instead of history. Ha. No thanks. I like shapes, not numbers!

This is Jaiden, my roommate's, side of the room. She's not the neatest person. plus she's an art major, so there is always paint spilled everywhere. She even spilled it on my new Burberry jacket. Needless to say, I'll be happy to get a new roommate next year.

Although, you can see the little TV area we have. When I have people over to my room we pull the TV over and sit on the beds. Our favorite thing to watch is Ugly Betty. We make popcorn in the kitchen down the hall and we even tried to bake brownies in the microwave one night (that didn't turn out so well).

First I would like to explain why this was the dorm I chose to live in. In their brochure they claimed that they were not a party dorm and it would not be tolerated. They bragged of a smaller a dorm with bigger dorm rooms, and the facilities at the dorm to aquire and maintain the necessary skills needed for graduation and career and life afterwards. I liked the sound of that.
I arrived and as described the dorm was beautiful, truthfully boasting the anemities they offered. My room is very nice, a little cramped but not anything like the dorms the college has on campus.

pix of dorm room

We were all allowed to relax and become aquainted our first night in the dorm. We were informed at the evening meal that a dorm meeting would be held at 5:00 am tomorrow, and attendance was required. At the meeting we found out how the dorm supported itself and offered lower dorm fees along with the extras the other dorms didn't have. A list of "chores" were presented to each of us and it was explained that we would be evaluated after each semester. If we weren't pulling our own weight we would be asked to leave.
As I left the meeting and went to breakfast I was introduced to the yahoo of a mascot the college has....he stopped directly in my face and started the campus cheer. Please, it was only 6:30 in the morning, the fool is lucky to still be breathing. That was a first for me.

I thought I would quickly get my chores done after class. I have never gardened before in my life, so this was another first. Buy the time I had the plots fertilized and planted it was getting late.

After gardening I grabbed a quick bite and grabbed a pole to go out to the dorms' pond and see if I could catch my "allotment" of fish assigned for the week. Again, I have never fished before or touched a wiggle worm. All I managed to catch was a boot, and of course that doesn't count toward my "allotment" to stay in the dorm.

By the time I finished my homework, starting the term paper for this semester, and finishing the "chores" assigned by the R.A. I was beat, now I understand how this dorm can claim they are not a party place and we will have the skills necessary for graduation and life. We'll see how this goes, I may transfer to a cramped, normal dorm soon.
*Note to self, by clothes for "chores", I'm ruining my good ones.*

Hey there!

The name's Pietro Alteras, and me and my twin Wanda have recently made the break and come here to University! It's everything we thought it would be, and much more!

So what's with that weird look?

Ah, I get it! It's the pointed ears, right? Well, me and Wanda are not exactly human. Not fully, at least. The pair of us are actually half-Erocubi, or more commonly known by the gender-specifics - Incubi and Succubi. We've had to stay in our human forms, but the pointed ears don't stay hidden. Luckily the glamour that keeps them hidden can only be seen through by a rare and powerful few, so can you keep it a secret?

Our mother died when we was born and raised for our first few years by her abusive husband. Once Father found out we existed and what we'd been though...Well...

In any case, we've been part of the Makokin Clan since we were five. Our Father, Sephiroth Alteras, is the Clanleader, and because it's such a small (but powerful) clan, everyone's like family. The problem is, this is the first time we've left the Clan since Father found out about us, so both of us have experienced a number of Firsts, including the Good, the Bad, and the Ugly.

One First that I've never come across before is actually being a part of the Public Education system! Me and Wanda were too young when we lived with our Mother's husband, and since we joined the Clan we were both home-tutored with our half-brothers and half-sister and all the other nestlings by the older members of the clan. The idea of actually going to class with non-Clan members and being taught by someone we didn't know was completely beyond our understanding. Although, I have to wonder, if every teacher is as boring as this, how can you guys survive so many years of it?

Another First is due to the fact that me and Wanda have never really seen any humans since we joined the Clan. Father's an extremely powerful and well-known Demonlord, so he gets a little over-protective where his kids are concerned. This lead to me and Wanda having a limited understanding of human culture, (we used that to get him to agree to let us come here), and this can lead to conflicts. Like in this picture. Being raised by Succubi and Incubi tends to lead a person into having a very loose and liberal view of sex. I had NO idea that there are humans that think same-gender sex is disgusting, and so this jerk decided to throw a punch at me after I flirted with him. Unfortunately for him, Father insists on every Clan member to know how to fight. *Grins*

One thing I love is this Electrosphere! I've never even heard of the like before I came here, but I've been addicted to it ever since my first go. I'm already planning to tell my oldest brother about this. Kadaj will flip!

Eh? Oh, you want to see my room? Well now, that's a bit quick. *Smirk*

Here's my room. Luckily me and Wanda managed to get a dorm with two bedrooms for ourselves, and probably a good thing too! I doubt we'd be very popular amongst any housemates if we keep them awake with our night time activities.

As you can see, I managed to be able to fit a double bed in there. Don't ask me how I managed to get it to fit, but since I rarely sleep alone, it's a godsend!

Here's one side of my room. It's a bit cramped, but it's cosy. There's a nice little study area, and we've managed to convince Father to get an internet connection in the Clan Halls, so we can keep in touch with our Clan-Brothers and Clan-Sisters that way.

This is the other side of my room. It's a little cramped and the bed takes up most the space, but it's cosy. Plus, I don't need that much space to rehearse my lines, and since I've been told I'm a neat-freak by my sister, it's not as bad as it may seem. The only point of interest here are the family photos on the side.

Well, that's me done. I think my sister wants to talk to you, but I've got to go. There's a cute little blond, a muscular brunette, and a firey redhead to 'meet' at the local hot springs. See ya!

If anyone's confused about anything or if I've done something wrong, just let me know.

Task One - "Firsts"

"I grew up in a very small town and was always shy, so I feel a little like an outsider at Sim State U. I lack a lot of the experience that the other kids already have, but I can't wait to have a great time here and come out of my shell a little bit. I wish one of my freshman 'firsts' could have been... well, the obvious one, or a wild party, or something, but hey, I'll go with what I've got."

"As soon as classes started, I was faced with a challenge. Finding my way around the busy campus with no one to guide me or help me was hard, but I managed it with few major problems, especially considering that I'd never had to navigate anything so big and new."

First Job

"Okay, so it's not my dream job, but it's a pretty good one considering my (nonexistent) resume. And the salary's not bad, either!"

"I guess I'm not the only one with late-night snack cravings! I met my first friend at SSU, Tina, during our simultaneous midnight Ramen Noodle runs. She's hilarious, and we're already very close."

Task Two - "The Room"

"My room at home was shared with my younger sister, so even if this dorm room is a little cramped, I'm thrilled to have it to myself and to be able to decorate it however I please. I plan to keep it neat and tidy, but any dorm room is bound to get a little cluttered."

Aerial Shot

"I decorated my room with a combination of new furniture and old stuff from home. My proudest purchases are the brand new easel (a joy to paint on, though I don't have much time for that) and the loft bed/desk combo - what a space saver!"

*Just so ya know, the bed is realistically accessible: There's a ladder on the end next to the easel.

Free Shots

"I love reading and studying on the cheery yellow couch that I snagged from the basement at home. It's very comfy."

"The laptop I've had since high school still works great for schoolwork and the dreaded term paper. Above it, my old pink bedspread adorns the comfy new bed, where you can find me sleeping most mornings and occasionally at night." :P

Is it allowed to put a sink?
No sinks or toilets are allowed in the dorm room. Fridges and small appliances (microwave, food processor, etc) are ok.

Great entries so far everyone. Aleeeexx, I still cant see your pictures though!

o1. Jesicot23
I love the pool shot, it's shot at a great angle, and wonderful colors. But you should be careful about cutting out the top of Dahlia's hat.
What a pretty sim. The angles & lighting in your freeshots are good, too.
A nice spirited girl with a bright face and a general aura of general happiness about. Excel’s socially and excellent taste in clothing.
Great application. Dahlia is such a cutie, and I especially like the pool picture.
o2. Gerbera
Very nice free shots, but the shot of her skating could've been a little closer. I like how you included her friend in the picture.
Charlotta Williamson| I love the look of your sim! Your freeshots are a little simple, although they do get the job done.
A Quirky girl with a refreshing fashion sense, love the glasses! She seems to know how to enjoy herself and what else is this about?
Charlotta is just the cutest little thing! Her glasses make her look like a smarty-pants.
o3. romyhorse
Beautiful pictures! I especially love the snow fight shot, great angle.
What a lovely & unique sim! Your freeshots are wonderful.
Very artistic for a science student, Billie seems to take her own life in her hands and run with it, in whatever direction will make her smile the most, and she has lovely freckles.
I love the name Billie for a gal, and the shaved head makes her look all the more interesting and unique. She is a cute gal with some awesome hobbies!
o4. SilentPsycho
Haha, I love the last picture, it's a great expression she has on.
I love your sim's eyes!
Wanda to look at is a bit like a modern day snow white. Beautiful pale skin, dark red lips and bright blue eyes with black hair. Yes she has all the beauty of snow white with all the energy of tigger from Winnie the Pooh…. This could be interesting.
Wanda looks like something of a rebel, and her eyes are beautiful.
o5. SilentPsycho
Aw, beautiful hot tub shot, they're so cute together! I love the shirt he has on also, it seems to go with him.
The hot-tub in the rain shot is really good!
I can’t help but agree when it comes to Sarcasm, This guy seems to have his head on straight… The white hair gives an aura of wisdom but the length shows this guy isn’t exactly mature yet.
I have to agree with the other judges when I say this - the hot tub in the rain shot is awesome!
o6. slytherin-girl
Nice free shot of the sewing machine, but it could have been a little closer in her face.
Love her pink hair! Your freeshots are a little simple, although they do get the job done.
The world of fashion is amazing and this girl knows it with a flare and pride in what she wears and in her perfectly made appearance, even when swimming.
The pink hair is a little wild, but it seems like Angelique is a pretty down-to-earth gal.
o7. JaimeA
I like the first free shot, but you should be careful not to cut off the top of her head.
Good entry! I like the lighting & angles in your freeshots.
A laid back appearance is quite attractive and a lot less threatening and when you have natural beauty why bother with make-up at all. And it seems she’ll make a lot of friends on the pool table anyway.
Miranda looks like quite the tomboy and a smarty to boot!
o8. Bad kay
I love all the pictures! Especially like the first free shot, it's beautiful contrast between his clothes and the guitar.
Love the lool of this sim; he looks like a fun-loving surfer dude. Good job.
First thing of thought of when I heard the name was Frank Grimes (a Simpson’s reference how original!) But I was pleasantly surprised. Longer hair frames his face and gives him a more relaxed look, interesting he should choose political science but I have no doubt he hides a great brain in that head of his.
Braeden? HOT! I really love the dancing picture.
o9. FireAzor
Cute picture of Kyle repairing the computer!
Great-looking sim, and really good freeshots. I like it!
An amazing body shape… he must work out a lot, and apparently skilled with a screw driver too, well he must have brains to be studying mathematics so, it seems, men can be smart and attractive… and he really is attractive.
I like the picture of Kyle working out; shows he is definitely a "guy's guy."
1o. (((PANdRitO)))
Nice pictures, but I would've liked to see more of his face (eyes!) in the free shots.
Love the last freeshot!
I'm guessing this guy isn’t a Virgo, a big bright smile and a mess everywhere… he seems pretty typical, but too look at those eyes you can tell there is something special inside.
Robert seems like a very cute, laid-back guy. I love the freeshots.
11. ashleybrooke
Beautiful pictures, you can see how Bianca is a people person.
Good job on the freeshots! They're unique from everyone else's.
Following the family tradition is always, nice particularly when you do it in such a nice top! The hair style really draws you focus to her bright eyes.
Bianca is adorable! I love the last picture in the restaurant.
12. goodnightpeter
I love the couple shot, it's very sweet. Very nice job on the drums picture, I love how he's looking straight at you.
Love the freckles!
Obviously has posed for a lot of pictures the twinkle in the eye shown in the first picture followed by the grumpy down turn of the mouth in the second make for a brilliant character.
Owen is such a handsome, rugged guy. I love the last two pictures!
13. emodawg
I can't figure out what she's doing in the 2nd free shot... Be a little careful about having the pause sign in the first free shot.
Your sim is really cute. The first freeshot is fantastic.
Pretty face with beautiful eyes, gorgeous and seemingly outgoing and I have never seen a sim look better up against a piano.
Erin is cute; I like the face tattoo.
14. redwing
I love the piano shot! It's beautiful, wonderful colors, and I love that he's wearing a suit.
Love the freeshots; they have a lot of ambiance. Good job!
A hair style for every occasion he seems excellently prepared for whatever aspect of life is happening in the here and now, great for anyone in a position of power.
Clay looks like a really nice guy. I love his clean-cut appearance.
15. FireAzor
Very beautiful pictures, I love the last picture, her expression is wonderful!
Xei is so cute! Great freeshots, too.
An interesting look but hot nonetheless, this girl has her eyes turned to the stars or apparently to a nice meringue personally I find it very hard to decide which is nicer.
Xei is very blue but very cute! I love her button nose.
Haha, I love the llama picture, it's very creative.
Cute sim! Good job on the freeshots.
A peace loving seemingly open blonde. With some great school spirit and great flexibility what more could the house want.
Gracie is cute; she looks Swedish!
17. Essa
I love the parachuting picture, it's so cool! And the expression on his face is priceless.
Fantastic freeshots! Totally unique from the others. Good job.
A nice thin face so rarely taken advantage of in males, brings out a more serious side to some one is obviously a whole lot of fun.
Denzel is SO cute, and I love his freeshots!
18. Daisie
I would've liked to see some more of her face in the free shots, but they're still beautiful.
Love, love the last freeshot! Would have like to see her face in the first one, though.
Reminds me of an English weather woman. She seems slightly shy but has a great look and a flare for Art, which always makes some people trust your thoughts and feelings more after all you generally are more intone with the world around you.
The last picture is so cool! Jessica seems like a really great girl.
19. cari4003
Beautiful pictures, but the clothes she's wearing isn't really gymnastics and yoga appropriate.
Love the lighting & angles in your freeshots!
Nice hair and an excellent choice in clothing make you pay attention to this girl all the more and with such a friendly smile why wouldn’t you want too?
Sammi is very cute, and extremely flexible!

I see my brother's finally stopped talking long enough to let you leave.

The name's Wanda Alteras. Pietro's probably gone into our backstory in length, so I'll just summerise it for you. Our Mother was human, our Father is a High Incubus and Clanleader of the Makokin Clan, and his position and reputation makes him a little overprotective when it comes to us and our half-siblings. So basically since we were little, me and Pietro have never really known what it was like outside of the Clan Halls, apart from stories that the older members of the Clan told us, and what we read in books. In the end, both of us decided to convince Father to let us see the world by bringing up this lack of knowledge about our human heritage. Now Father may be overprotective, but he does place a great emphasis on knowledge and learning, so in the end he's allowed us to come to University and explore human society. As long as we keep to certain rules...

However, as my brother may have mentioned, this has lead to some interesting discoveries.

One of the first that I noticed was this feeling of homesickness. The only times that me and Pietro have left the Clan's territory, we were always accompanied by at least one other member of the Clan, usually our half-brothers. This situation of being completely separated from any Clan-Brother or Clan-Sister apart from Pietro has really got me down, and there are times that I wish I could call them and tell them about this. However, I have to keep a smile on my face and joy in my voice when I do speak to Father, because if he thinks that me and Pietro are unhappy, he'd be here in a second to take us home, and he wouldn't take no for an answer!

While we are enjoying learning new things about human society, there are things which still puzzle us, and the human's view on sex is deeply confusing. In the Clan, it's a normal part of life, especially as while me, Pietro, and the other half-humans can survive on physical food alone, the full Incubi and Succubi feed mainly on the energy produced during sex. This makes rules about fidelity and other similar matters counter-productive, especially when you consider the fact that humans summon Incubi and Succubi to have sex with them. The unwritten rules and conventions of human society regarding sex verses the ones we know have clashed a number of times, like the guy who took a punch at Pietro. While no one has dared to attack me, the female human's love of gossip is starting to get on the annoying side, especially as I'm not used to it.

There are good things I've experienced though. Meeting new people, making new friends and lovers, and learning about the complex connections and society of humanity - this is what me and Pietro really wanted to learn about!

Anyway, as my brother has told you, we were able to get a two-bedroom dorm. My bedroom's a little small, but I've made more room by only having a single bed and placing it against the wall. Me and Pietro have a deal - he lets me use the double bed when I have 'friends' over, and in return he gets to use my mirror. I probably get the worse half of the deal, considering how long my brother spends in front of the mirror. *Grins*

This is my bed, where I sleep and entertain the more flexible of my lovers. You're actually quite lucky to see my room now rather than yesterday, as Neat-Freak Pietro cleaned it up for me earlier after removing every trace of dust from his own kingdom. Give me a few days, it will be back to normal soon. A clean room is a sign of a disturbed mind, of which my brother is proof. *Grins*

Here's the view from my bed. As you can see, I've already started on the clutter on my desk, next to the PC Father supplied so we can send regular reports home to him. You can also see my easel, which is one of my favourite posessions. As I'm studying Art, it's kind of essential to maintaining a high grade here - another one of Father stipulations.

In any case, that's us finished for today. Unless...you want to stay and 'talk' some more? What about it?

4th Sep 2007, 12:31 PM
:D Thanks for the nice comments judges! Pink's my favourite colour, couldn't resist making her hair that colour! And I hope it's okay if her hair not the exact same shade of pink in future rounds, it's hard to find pinks the exact same shade :)

I'll probably be submitting some of my round one today, after I get home from going to my own college :P (I've got most of it written, just need to take the pictures)

4th Sep 2007, 12:42 PM
I have to agree with slytherin-girl, the judges were free with the nice comments, and deserve lots of hugs.:D

I didn't realise that Wanda could be seen as like a modern-day Snow White. I was actually slightly basing their looks and hair colour on the Maximoff twins of the same name from the Marvel Universe. Glad you like the hot tub picture, especially after the effort it took to make that Pre-made Maxis Uni Sim look good.

I just hope the rooms in my Round 1 entries don't come off as luxurious. I was actually basing them slightly off the rooms in my student accomendation at University.

Thank you judges for all the comments, I appreciate them.

Thanks for the nice comments, judges. :) I agree that I should've shown her face in the painting pic.

ETA: Ooh, hey, my avatar's up! Didn't even notice. :p Thanks, bP.

4th Sep 2007, 11:04 PM
Thanks so much for the avatar guys, I feel so official now. Oh and the comments were awesome, sadly my family wasnt as supportive. No kudos from them. Im working on me round 1 entry but wanted to wait on bon voyage before i put anymore cc's on my comp. For the arial picture, will it hurt my score if the room doesnt seem to be attached to anything else?

4th Sep 2007, 11:09 PM
For the arial picture, will it hurt my score if the room doesnt seem to be attached to anything else?Obviously, I don't have the official answer to that, but I just wrapped a simple hallway (white walls, wood floor) around my room and slapped down a Myne door. Instant dorm!

Obviously, I don't have the official answer to that, but I just wrapped a simple hallway (white walls, wood floor) around my room and slapped down a Myne door. Instant dorm!

First Heartbreak
It was the day I was moving out of my house in Pleasantview and into my dormitory at Sim State University. My girlfriend of two years, Ariel, came over so we could say our goodbye's. I was planning to visit her at the University of Veronville in a couple of weeks, but in the two years we were together the longest we had ever been apart was just a few days. Right before I was about to load everything into my truck, Ariel told me she needed to talk to me. She said that she wanted a "break" because it would be really hard to keep our relationship going since we were going to different colleges. I disagreed completely since we would only be a few towns apart but there was no persuading her. So as tears ran down her beautiful angelic face, I said goodbye- not for a few weeks, but for good. I thought the world was over but once I got to SSU and saw a few of the fresh ladies, I felt just fine.

First Practice
Yes, the reason I chose to attend the glorious, almighty, Sim State University- to join the hockey team! I've played hockey all my life and dreamt of playing for SSU since I was in my mother's womb. A defensman to the core, there's no where I'd rather be than on the ice. I remember the day SSU scouts came to my good-for-nothing high school to recruit players. We were playing the Strangetown Mealworms and we DEFEATED. Afterwards the scouts found me outside the locker room and offered me a scholarship and a spot on the team! Our first practice was great and I love the guys on the team. It's going to be a victorious year for Sim State University's hockey team.

First "F"
BIOLOGY- UGH. It's my worst class and worst nightmare. In High School I was able to use my charm and undeniable good-looks to talk my teachers into giving me that "B-" when I only managed a "C+", but college Professor's aren't to be swayed. Professor Darcy shows no mercy when assigning paper after paper after paper and seems to believe that everyone in our class already has a major in Biology. So the night before our midterm I downed a few Red Bulls and got as comfy as one can get in those awful library chairs. I pulled my first all-nighter and still managed to fail the final, and the class. Now I have to take it again next semester. Let's just hope I don't get Professor Darcy again.

I love my dorm and my roomate is totally cool. He's a political science major so we have a lot of classes together. We've got the same style and a lot of things in common.

Well on behalf of the judges thank you :). As for the Snow white stuff... well what can I say, I love Disney!

Dorm Room:

Well here’s my wonderful dorm room:

Here’s my bed, with the sheets in my favourite colour of course. My mum bought it for me as a going away present, and I love it. The poster there is one of my favourites because it’s always been a goal of mine to go to Paris. It’s the fashion capital of the world after all, so I know I’ll be going someday.

And this I like to call my creativity corner. It’s where I do all my designing and schoolwork. I post my current projects on the walls and keep others in folders on the desks. I’m just glad I could fit the desk in there properly and that my computer’s been ok so far *crosses fingers and prays to avoid a breakdown*

Well, this might not seem like a big deal to some people, but this is the first time I’ve had my own room. I’m the 5th child of 10 kids (My parents are both family sims) so I’ve always shared a room with one my sisters. Believe me, you don’t know how wonderful it is to have a closet to myself and not hear their snoring in the morning!

To my embarrassment this is a picture of my honest to god first hangover. It was frosh week and I just couldn’t seem to help myself. Believe me though, after spending an entire morning worshipping the porcelain God, I won’t ever be getting that drunk again. I just hope mum and dad don’t see this.

Yup, you’re seeing it right. I chopped off all my hair. This is my first serious haircut in about 7 or 8 years! I had been growing it for so long; I decided it was time for a change. So here one is because that's what college is all about isn't it?

No, you dont need anything explained this round. Everyone's entries look good so far!

I cant believe its been a year already. It seems like just yesterday that mom and dad dropped me off for my freshman year here at Sim State U. Its been a blast! I was home schooled by my mom until I was about twelve when my dad decided that my moms method of 'explorations' didnt quite translate into a formal education. In addition, due to my freakish flexibility thanks to yoga- a core requirement of mom's teachings- my dad decided I would be a shoe-in for a gymnastic academy in Pleasantview. It was a rigid atmosphere but with my moms help and our 'spiritual hiatuses', I was able to cope. Now I was on my own at a public university with just myself as my guide.
I had been so excited to meet my room mates as I had requested a four room dorm. Dad got me a printer and other neccesities while mom got me a dream catcher. She said as long as I opened my mind to the journey everything else would be fine. She was so right! I had two super cool room mates- one dropped out at the last minute. Missy the fashion major, and Asia who was an art major. We had some good times and some 'necessary ones' in our dorm room which was always colorful and smelled of fresh omelettes.

The girls insisted I unpack my gymnastics trophies which my dad had smuggled in. Take a look at Asia's artwork. Isnt she amazing?

These are our beds. Can you guess which is mine? Look for all the sports stuff-I finally get to root for a team- and the mystic dream catcher. Thanks again mom!

Hmmn, what firsts happened this year? I really dont need to think that hard as it was pretty eventful. In the winter Missy who is a junior insisted I wear her midterm exam in the Miss Sim State U Pageant. I obliged as she and I shared a love for the environment and the dress was made out of all natural materials. Recycled of course. All those yoga breathing exercises came in handy and I actually won! Take a look.

Spring came around and my mom mentioned that she sees me delving further into the unknown... Nothing was more unknown than college spring break. Missy, Asia and I packed our bags and headed off to Twikkii island. The ocean was heavenly! Hula anyone?

Finals were imminent by mid may and I tried to maintain my focus. However, one afternoon while studying in the park- well actually I was meditating but dont tell anyone- I noticed some signs announcing that the last remaining undisturbed land was gonna be excavated to make another parking lot. I had to do something. With Missy's help we organised a protest, well mostly just me becaue of finals and all- and them came a monumental first: Gracie Moon you are under arrest!

Thats all behind me now and luckily the university was understanding. The park is still here, well half of it. Compromise right. I think next year I might major in environmental law. We'll have to wait and see.

Move In

Move-In Day!!! Almost all of my family brought me to Sim State University (SSU) on Friday. My mom, dad, sister, nephews and niece all had to come "approve" the place for me! They were a big help. They actually did most of the hard work, carrying everything to my room, while I unpacked things. I wasn't really sure what to expect when I got here. When I first saw our room I could not imagine I was going to live there for a whole year! However, once I got everything put away, my bed made, and my pictures put up it felt a little more like home.

After I got settled into my room we ate lunch. Later I told my family good-bye in a shop owned by one of our friends. Not the place you would picture yourself saying good-bye, but it worked. Yes, they cried, but somehow I managed not to. I think I had too many other things on my mind.

I had an Honors Program meeting and a dorm floor meeting so I stayed very busy! I went to the SSU about 7:30 for an activity and had an AWESOME time!!! I met lots of people and saw quite a few I already knew. I went back to the dorm that night and worked on arranging my room to make it feel more like home. I was so exhausted from such a long day I was asleep as soon as my head hit the pillow!!!

My first day of college classes!!! I had imagined that I would be nervous about my first day of classes, but I wasn't at all!!! My first class, at 12:30 p.m., was Ag 1011 (Freshman Orientation). Our professor is crazy (in a good way)! After my first class I had about an hour break so I went to a computer lab and figured out how to use my email. My next class was at 2:30 p.m. and then I was done for the day! That night we had a Scavenger Hunt at the SSU. We broke up into small groups and drove around town searching for the items on our list. There were some crazy things we had to get!! My team won, we were very excited!

Today after classes I met Heather, a girl I met on my Move-In day. We went to Charlie's Chicken for some "real food"! After supper we went by to the pet store because she thought I wanted a goldfish. I’ve never had pets before, so I agreed. We picked out two, named them Flotsum and Jetsum, and took them to their new home. After we got the fish settled in, we went to the SSU to see what was going on. Later, Tim and Nick (my roommate and his friend) came over to see my new fish and then we called it a night.

Oh and this is how my room looks like, it’s a little cramped, but I like it that way, it helps me to keeps my things... “organized”. I share my room with Tim. He’s a little neurotic, so he likes to keep everything on his side clean and organized, total opposite to what happens on my side of the room. I have the minifridge on my side of the room, and the tv is in his.

6th Sep 2007, 11:15 PM
Growing up in a small souther town, I was the kind of girl who always dreamed of bigger and better places. When I was accepted at SSU, I jumped on the chance to move to a cooler climate and a bigger location. What I found when I got there, was nothing I expected.

First of all, the rooms they gave us are itty bitty! I got real lucky having only a double room, and one on the top floor, meaning they were slightly larger.

view from the top! White walls and tile floors meant we had to do a lot of decorating

I love my roommate Ophelia (Oppy to friends and family) to pieces, but that girl can be real messy!
Ophelia's side of the room

I brought a lot of things from home I just couldn't live without, like the quilt mama knitted me as a graduation present, and the bulletin board my best friend Suzanna put together just before we left
My side, I'm a sucker for romantic films:)

At home, I was your typical southern girl. When other kids were riding bikes, I got my first pony, and when most girls were begging Daddy for a convertible, I was more than happy to inherit his old pick-up. Homecoming Queen, Valedictorian, everyone said I was goin' places, if only they knew where I was goin!

My first Halloween party! SSU is known for it's Halloween and Oppy and I really lived it up! I only hope they get better from here!

I'm real happy to be able to say I met a real nice boy. His name is Chance, and he's a real gentlemen, even if he's got an unusual name. He's the kind of boy Daddy would've loved if he were still alive...
My "first time", I think it's true love...I hope it is, I can see myself spending the rest of life with this man

What would college be without no studying. I had fun, but I sure buckled down towards exam week! Political Science is no walk in the park, I wouldn't be suprised if switched real quick!
My first all nighter, I didn't mean to fall asleep, but it was a nice quiet section of the library...

6th Sep 2007, 11:41 PM
Well Today was My first day at Sim State University. I was so excited because i finally got to leave the house and and excell in my art career. My mother didn't want me leaving she insisted on me staying home and not living in the dorms, but i needed to leave my family is way to clingy.

Task One- Firsts

First Class

My first class was History at 12:30. But unfortunatly i was late because of traffic. Professer Kendell was very understanding and didn't mind that i was late. I sat with Kathleen Barker she is majoring in Politcal Science, she was very interesting. Another girl came in late her name was Candice Tanner she looked a bit grumpy and kept looking at me. I feel bad for who ever her roomate is.

First Party
Leeann Cockrell inivited me to a party, she is in my art class. We had alot of fun. Everyone just started dancing and then we had some drinks. A few people got drunk, I was one of them. I think i kissed a guy..or was it a girl.
I dont remeber I hope the next party is not as bad as this one turned out to be.

First Arguement
As it turns out I'm the unlucky girl that ended up being Candice's roomate.
We didn't really talk for the first few days. One thing that really bugged me was how she would put my stuff away and pick my clothes up. One time she even threw away one of my paintings she said " I thought it was garbage" It was one of my best paintings. I never said anything to her i just let it slide, but then one day i was doing a project for art and i had music on ( it makes my creative juices flow) and Candice came up and turn my ipod off and took it and threw it on my bed. Well i flew off the handle and started yelling at her. It look as if she was going to cry, I tried to aploigize but she wont accept it. I hope to patch things up with her.

First Time Trying out for Cheerleader

I always thought cheerleading was archaic, until I discovered that SSU Soccer team wasn't going to hold tryouts this year. There went nothing, I didn't make the cut (I think it was because I'm blue more than anything else).

First School Fundraiser

Most of the library books were old and in really bad conditions, so some friends, my roomie and I decided to do something about it!

First Rejection from a Crush

This has to be one of the most embarassing moments of my First Year. I had a crush on one of SSU's hunks, Brock Hunter. I wanted to ask him out, so I did. He looked at me like if I were some alien from outerspace... well, I am an alien, but you get the picture *blush* .... his "girlfriend" and her friend were laughing and pointing... I have never been so embarassed before in my whole life!

-* Room *-

I wasn't as lucky as some to get a dorm to themselves, but my roomie isn't that bad. She's just a bit messy with her art supplies and listens to weird music...

Is there something i need to change about the pictures

its so funny that you cant see them.

7th Sep 2007, 4:36 PM
Task 1 - First Times

Working at the restaurant to earn some money to spend on partys and shopping ;)

Doing the naked run - it's a freshman tradition! At first I didn't want to do it, but actually it was a lot of fun!

Exam time! I never thought it would be THAT hard ... I was lucky I found some nice and clever people to form a study group.

Task 2 - Dorm Room

My dorm room is really small, but from what I have seen, all dorm rooms are small here. I tried to make best use of the space, actually it has everything that is needed. The furiture is a little mixed, since I didn't have much money to buy a lot of new own stuff, but I think it's quite nice. I decorated it with some surfer stuff, I am from the coast and really into surfing, so that reminds me of home.

First meal

I didn't know how to cook anything when I left home, but I learned it very quickly and I have to say, food tastes better when you prepare it yourself!

First Best Male Friend

Leo and I met this year, we live in the same dorm. We've been friends since I had the infamous toilet paper problem. I wasn't used to having a boy friend, the only friends I had in high school were girls and I didn't seem to get along with the other boys of my class. Now that I have Leo, I can be a little rougher and I can tell dirty jokes, though that's not our favourite occupation! We spend our time having rap battles (simply hilarious!!), watching football, play a pool game or pillow fighting!

First hard exam period

The exams were insanely difficult, I don't have words for it. It was the first time I had to face such an amount of learning substance.

Dorm Room

What can I say about my room, besides it's tiny and blue! I collect a lot of rubbish but I do try to keep my room neat & clean: I never eat there and I especially pay attention that my clothes are in the dresser and not on the floor. My pride is obviously my surf board, mounted on the left wall! I also like the lightning in my room, hence the night shots.

7th Sep 2007, 7:52 PM
*catches breath* I'm finally finished with both of my entries :) All entries look great!

I think I may have to drop out BP:cry: I have like an hour maybe and I still have to take the first pics, my friggin computer takes to long to load the game too:( I'll try to get my entry in though, I REALLY don't want to leave this contest!!!

o1. Jesicot23 [77/100]
Amazingly out there, the room stands out and the sim movie posters are lovely, all the pictures are clearly well-thought out.
Your dorm room is nice, but I'm wondering why there are 2 unpainted walls by the bulletin board. Overall, your photos seem well-thought out. I particularly like the Halloween party photo.
Beautiful job! You left some walls paintless though, and the Halloween party seems a little empty.
The dorm room is decorated very well; I really got the feel of a campus-life. And I really liked the picture of Dahlia snoozing in the library!
o2. Gerbera [86/100]
I love the use of the trees, to cover her up… that first was a good idea, and she really seems to be enjoying herself too. The room is very attractive and small without being cramped. Well thought out.
Your dorm is really cute! I would have liked to have seen more clutter in the First Job photo; I've never seen such a spotless kitchen! :) I also love your clever placement of the palm tree in the naked run photo!
Very beautifully decorated rooms, they give a lot of personality to Charlotta. The naked run picture was wonderfully taken, but the other guys position doesn't really seem like he's running.
GREAT entry! I really love all the pictures (the streaking one especially), and the dorm room decor was done very nicely. Good work!
o3. romyhorse [87/100]
Exactly what was asked for, a mildly cramped, well decorated dorm room. With a series of well pictured firsts. The first hangover is a nice touch….
Love the dorm. It doesn't seem overly "decorated," which makes it seem very authentic. Your photos are simple, to the point, and speak for themselves. Good job.
The first uni party picture is wonderful! I love it, the colors are wonderful, and I love the blur effect. The only thing is that your firsts are pretty typical. Beautifully decorated room.
The party picture is money. And I really love the look on Billie's face as she is crawling out of bed that morning! Well done.
o4. SilentPsycho [84/100]
A second set of different firsts, and a nice explanation of why they have sex so much, personally I think, that thinking about it all the time would get tiring… oh but I like the touches about Pietro cleaning her room…. Then again I would…. I do have a disturbed mind and a clean room :).
The dorm seems a little "cold" to me. It doesn't strike me as warm or welcoming. Your backstory is really great, though you do get a little long-winded :)
Wonderful pictures! All of them really, especially the second one, it depicts the "first" well. I also love the narration, very nice addition to her character.
Nice pictures and great backstory. I liked the dorm room, nice and small! Thats just how I picture them looking.
5. SilentPsycho [75/100]
Like the detailed story. This is very different and besides the fact he seems think all humans are homophobic it was excellently written, the room is basic… which is not a criticism it’s good and I still love the T-shirt :).
I like his dorm, but it doesn't strike me as particularly authentic; a little more clutter would have been gerat. One thing, though, I'd really love to see Pietro and Wanda in a change of clothes & hair :)
I love the 3rd picture, very unique. It would have liked to see some of his face in the first picture though. Very nice and simple decorations, it suits Pietro.
Another great dorm room set-up from you. I really like the siblings' backstories. Well done!
o6. slytherin-girl [67/100]
The room seems a little spacious, but is very nicely decorated. I like the hangover stuff, but I love the new haircut, and the picture on that background looks amazing.
I like the dorm, but it seems like you built it a little too large for the amount of furniture you included; it seems a little empty. The haircut photo would have been better if you put her in a salon setting. Her hula-ing in front of that loud wallpaper seems random.
Wonderfully creative firsts! A different background for the last picture would have been better, it felt like she was just stuck on there. Also, in the first one, I don't see the shelves anywhere in the room, some continuity would've been nice.
Although there isnt too much in the dorm room, its pink theme is carried out nicely. I really like the "firsts" you picked out as well.
o7. Bad kay [87/100]
Definitely a boys room, but a nice one at that. All the furniture works really well together. And I love the fact he learned to cook most people don’t until they have to and he seems to be proof.
I like the clutter and overall style of the dorm. It suits your sim perfectly! Your First photos are really cute, but I have a hard time picturing my college-aged male friends having pillow fights! lol
Great job on everything! The pictures are great, wonderful decorations, and I love the pillow fight shot.
I love the dorm room! The "first meal" thing was a unique touch. I would never think of that as being a first, but its a good one!
o8. FireAzor [88/100]
I really like the room’s look especially with the license plates. The whole entry seems well planned and well thought out. A clearly talented person is doing some amazing stuff here.
The objects in his dorm seem a little high-end for a college student, but overall the dorm is really good. I particularly like the license plates! Your First photos look well thought out, and stand out from the rest. Good job.
The pictures are so amazing! All the expressions fit with what's happening, very good job on them. Great decorations as well.
Haha panty raid! That picture was hilarious. Nice dorm room as well; I love the license plate wall.
o9. (((PANdRitO))) [86/100]
You must have put a lot of time into this, all the pictures look well planned, and the room is meticulously messed up. This clearly took a lot of thought and shows you’re not afraid to work hard. Oh and I love the fish names… very clever
I like your entry, although it is a little wordy. I would have like it if your photos had spanned the whole first year or college, not just the first few days. I do like the messy, unpacked furniture in the dorm.
Nice pictures, but you didn't follow the instructions. The decorations are very nice though.
I love the dorm room! Its so messy and male student-like. Moving Day pictures were awesome as well.
1o. ashleybrooke [93/100]
A nice well turned out room, with some nice personal touches (brownies in the Microwave.) I can definitely see a lot of effort was put into this. And I definitely like the touches about her room-mate.
I really like the dorm; the walls make it look very authentic, as does the clutter. Your First photos are really cute and well-done.
Beautiful job! The room is wonderfully done, and so are the firsts. I love the first one, it's very expressive. Something closer in on her face would be nice in the second picture.
Excellent entry. The first picture was captivating, and Bianca's dorm room is so cool! Well done.
11. goodnightpeter [97/100]
A good, typical guy it seems, good firsts again and I like the touches added with the red bull etc. The room is good you even managed to make a small amount of mess, which I have no doubt will be added to soon…..
I like your dorm! The furniture isn't too matchy-matchy, which I like. Your First photos are well-done and thought-out. Good job.
Aww, it's so sad to see them break up! But moving on... your pictures are great! I love the shot where he gets an F, really good angle, and I love his expression. Amazing decorations too.
OT: Owen is so hot! Anywho, your entry was well done. The shower scene? MONEY! Wonderful... its all wonderful!
12. FireAzor [95/100]
Clearly very well thought out and excellently photographed, I’m not just saying that… it really is amazing. Nice story line and I love your decoration of the room too!
Your First photos are great! They really stand out from the rest of the entries. I like the walls you chose in the dorm, although the furniture does seem a little too "matchy-matchy" for a poor college student.
Everything is beautifully done. I love the fundraiser picture, they all seem so excited! Great job on the decorating, it's great how you can see a difference between the two.
The dorm room has a very unique shape, but it was decorated nicely nonetheless. I love the first picture!
13. TLAWBLIQUE360 [78/100]
Very good, nice lot of firsts that most people would never think of, I really like the room. And the amount of space doesn’t matter with how many people you have staying there, very well done.
The dorm seems really "decorated" to me; I don't know of many first year college students who can afford such nice furniture! Your "First" photos are good, although I would have liked to have seen a little more "action" in the backgrounds.
Very creative on her being arrested for protesting! Great job on the decoration too!
The dorm room was bright! And I like what you chose for Gracie's firsts. The hula dancing picture is really cute.
14. Essa [93/100]
I really liked the ‘filing tax’ bit, (I’m so glad my mum was an accountant… because I’m really not looking forward to it!) The room is nicely messy, and the pirates themed party is definitely inspired. A very good job!
I like the dorm, especially the clutter, but it seems a little too "matchy-matchy" and "decorated" to me. Your First shots are great; they're unique and look well-done.
I love the pirate picture! It's very well done. Great decorating too.
Your pictures are just great! The dorm room looks like a really nice place to live for four years!
15. Daisie [83/100]
Very good, liked the Ramen noodles bit, the room is nicely cramped and the whole thing flows well, your firsts all make sense and aren’t too bizarre. Well done.
I love how you challenged yourself by building a tiny dorm! The furniture and color scheme is really cute. Your First shots are really good and look well-thought-out. Good job.
The room is beautifully decorated, and the pictures are great. But I still would like to see some more of Jessica's face.
Your firsts were cool, and I loved the warmness of the dorm room. Well done overall.
16. cari4003 [67/100]
Seemed a little too spacious, but interesting choice in firsts. I certainly would never have thought about considering doing those things at university….. And I really love the clothes comment at the end
The dorm is nice, but I do think it looks a little "high-end" for a college student. The color scheme is a little dreary, but that's just a personal preference. Your First photos are ok, but i would have liked to have seen more "action" and more things happening in them.
Beautiful room! But be careful in your last two pictures about putting the roof up.
Overall you did a nice job with the tasks. I took off some points for the missing roof in the last picture, but all-in-all you did a good job.
17. Aleeeexx [65/100]
A nice room and some very creative pictures here, she really seems to be enjoying her life at the moment and isn’t that what it’s all about?
I think you built your dorm room too big for the amount of furniture in it; it looks half-empty. The furniture in the room is cute though! I'd have liked to have seen your Sim's face in the First shots, and watch out for Plumbbobs!
Be careful about getting thought bubbles and plumbobs in your pictures. I would've liked to see more of her face in the pictures. The rooms are well decorated, but it's a little empty.
The dorm room is a little on the large scale, but I didnt take points off for that. Try to cut out Plumbbobs! Good work overall though.

Round 2 information will be up shortly!

Sophomore Year

Thanks for showing us your (dreaded) dorm rooms, but now its time to show us a little more about your dedication to your Fraternity/Sorority. Although you all went through a couple of rough "firsts" in your Freshman year of college, this year is your time to crack down on letting your future Greek brothers and sisters know that you are serious about joining their house.

Task One: Pledging
We all know the rumors of initiation and "hazing", but we want the deep down, dirty scoop! Were you instructed to steal the football team's mascot? What about breaking into the Dean's office? Tell your pledging story!
2 Pictures of your Sim participating in an initiation or "hazing" practice.

Task Two: Acceptance
So you went through all the initiation days/weeks/months and finally made it into the Greek House of your choice. What was your acceptance ceremony like? Was it a wild frat party or a dark, candle-lit ceremony of silence? Tell us about it!
2 Pictures illustrating your Sim's acceptance ceremony/party/etc.

:here: Task Three: BONUS TASK
This task is completely optional, but completing it can earn you up to 5 extra credit points which will be added onto this round's scores. Tell us about your typical Saturday night - what does it include? Studying? Partying? Visiting the family for the weekend? Write a small paragraph (3-5 sentences) telling us about a typical Saturday night for you and include only 1 picture (so make it count!) illustrating that typical night.

Round 2 ends on 9.13.07 @ 6:oo PM (US Central Time)

When does round 2 end?

10th Sep 2007, 5:26 PM

Meet my target, Dean Edward Pryce. A 54-years-old British male, and the one in charge of this Univeristy. Nice, but very tweedy and very... well, British! My iniation task for ZIG is one of great importance, and has been tried many times before, yet all have have failed...

What underwear does he wear?

Boxers or briefs? White? Black? Union Jack? Cotton or Wool? These are all questions that the Sisters of the Zeta Iota Gamma Society want to know, and so I have to obtain a sample to solve those questions once and for all. For this mission, many of the older Sisters offered advice on ways to succeed in this task.

Some say that the best way would be to bribe some of the boys to start a food fight, drawing his attention and allowing me to sneak into his rooms undetected.

Others say that a sedative in his ever-present cup of tea might be the answer.

A couple even went so far to suggest that I should disguise myself as a ninja and knock him out in order to find out. Funny, I'm pretty sure I may be expelled for that if he ever found out...

In the end, I decided to do something a bit more to my style...

...Everyone, if all stuffy Brits are like this in bed, book the tickets there now!

Oh, and if anyone's wondering, it's silk Union Jack boxers.

Saturday nights, everyone knows the best place to party is at mine and Pietro's place! Not only do we have no other dormies to worry about keeping awake, but we have it all - drinks, music, dancing, and the best fights!

I remember the night this photo was taken, Roxie (on the left) had found out her boyfriend Jonah was cheating on her. It ended up with Roxie dragging him outside for a big old fist fight, with her twin Edwin (currently bouncing on the settee) cheering her on and helping her out. Once he was knocked out, Roxie and Edwin came back in to celebrate her new-found freedom from that jerk, and let's just say that me and Pietro had our hands full that night with the pair. *winks*

I have to admit, the Initiation Ceremony was an interesting night. It happened in a dark stone basement, and the only lights that were in it were the candles at the corners of the stage. I was lead there stark naked except for a blindfold, and the ceremony involves clothing the Pledge in the white robes of the Pledge before the blindfold could be taken off. Then the older Sisters of the House called blessings upon me, while the other Pledges watched from the area in front of the platform.

I don't actually know much about Greek Houses, apart from the fact that it's a part of normal University Student society, but in the House I'm in only the Pledges wear white. Once you spend enough time in the house, you get a different colour toga.

After the ceremony was done, then all that done was to drink and eat. From what I've learned from Father about the Greeks, (Father likes to reminisce on his time growing up in Greece - he says the Olympians threw the best parties), the worship of the Gods that I think might happen would be fun. I wonder when the first orgy dedicated to Aphrodite is going to be?

...Wait, did I just say that all that happened that night was eating and drinking? *smirk*

Well guys, this year started off with a bang. I was finally allowed to Rush AOPi. Let me tell you, that was no easy feat. Luckily though, AOPi doesn't practice the dangerous hazings like the frats on campus do. We more or less just have to make fools of ourselves to prove our love for dear old AOPi.

So it was the typical Friday at the house. The sisters were giving us our missions for the evening. We were put into groups of three and sent out with a sister to make sure that we accomplished what we needed to. When I found out that Carly Ann was going to be our sister tonight, I knew we were in for trouble.

Carly Ann took us to the cellar and made us change into completely horrible clothing. She then sat us all down and put pounds of makeup on us and teased our hair until it felt as though she was going to pull it out. Then she gave us our mission... We were going to be taken to the hottest club in town and we had to flirt shamelessly with the college guys there.

So Lydia (the blonde on the left), Josie (the brunette in the green hat), and I went out on the dance floor and gave it our all. I was showing this guy my famous "booty shaker" dance while Lydia went on and on about her curves. The guy, Toby, was not impressed.

Carly Ann then told me I had to try and get Toby's phone number. I tried to be as sweet and coy as I could be in that lumberjack get up, but Toby refused again and again. We left the club that night with no phone numbers but a night of unforgettable memories.

A couple of weeks passed, and I knew it was time for the announcement of Pledges. So I waited... all week. By Friday, my hopes were fading. I went to Anthropology and tried to put AOPi out of my mind. When class was over, I gathered my things and started to head out of the building.

When I walked out the doors of Lemmon Hall, I saw three girls waiting at the bottom of the steps... Tiffany, Carly Ann, and Daytona. That's when I knew it. I made it! They started cheering and saying congratulations. I couldn't control my excitement. I jumped in the air and screamed "YES!!!"

After the Pledge period was over, the sisters decided to hold a formal dance for the new members to welcome us into the house.

At the end of the night, the sisters had a local photographer take a picture of the new sisters to commemorate the occasion.

Bonus Task:

You remember that hockey player that I met freshman year? Yep, he and I are still going strong. Since so much of his time is taken up by practices, we decided that Saturday night will always be "date night." Trent and I usually end up on the AOPi couch watching movies. We're homebodies, at heart.

 I was thinking about something in the same guidelines ashley. That first picture is hilarious!

This second year of college has been full of surprises. My friend Luis wanted to pledge to Sigma Rho Upsilon and I secretly did too. So we both went to see what was required to pledge. The Brothers were nice at introductions, but they did tell us that they would be firm during the pledge period and would not tolerate any "wussiness" from true aspiring brothers. What my friends and I didn't know was that their so-called "pledge period" was really torturous slave labor.

Every day we were supposed to report ourselves with "Pledge Master" Greg Ramirez. He would then leave us in the house to do the cleaning. Each one of the pledges were assigned uniforms and a brother and we quickly became the "helper" of the brother we were assigned to (which really meant that we were their personal maids). Luis and I were always assigned to clean the bathrooms which were usually filthy... especially if we were cleaning them after a party... yeeeuch!

The worst part for me is that in any free afternoons our schedules allowed us (which was usually at noon, the hottest time of day), we had to report over to the house and have Brother Greg line us up to do all sorts of calisthenics in the basketball court (which is partly hidden by trees from the rest of the campus) for hours with no rest or water breaks.

I usually got to my dorm so tired I didn't have the energy to get up and eat, much less do my schoolwork. The only positive aspect of this whole process that I saw was that my athletic resistance was better than ever.

Nonetheless, after a few months of this I was thinking about quiting (my grades were going down), I was in the library doing some extra-credit papers, when I heard a ruckus outside. I tried to ignore the noise and continue with my schoolwork but the library doors bust open and in came the president of ΣΡΥ (a muscle-y "bald guy" named Ken) and another brother and asked me if I was Kyle Davis. I responded that I was. He and his companion quickly hoisted me on their shoulders and took me out of the library chanting "Welcome to Sigma Rho Upsilon Brother Kyle!"

They took me over to the house and introduced me to the rest of the resident brothers. Greg apologized for being a moron with us during pledge period and made up for it by handing me a beer from the fridge. I later found out that Luis and the rest of my buds had made it into the house too. The older brothers decided to welcome us with a roof-raising party that night with the girls of the Delta Beta Kappa Sorority.

Since I live so far away from my family and see them only on holidays and school breaks, my friends have become my second family. Friday nights are usually club nights with girls and the other brothers, but Saturdays are strictly poker nights for us.

Task One

Ah, second year of college! I wanted to pledge to Iota Psi Omega as I really liked the idea of being in a Greek House and I really liked the people who were in it! The Greek house is quite small so I expected they would love a new member. I thought I wouldn't have to do silly tests! Boy, was I wrong! They didn't come up with a lot of things, but the pureed boot drink is definitely worth mentioning! I had to dive in the garbage can and take some gross things to make it into a cocktail. I caught an old boot...

I didn't choose the recipe for the cocktail, obviously. Other ingredients were radish, whisky, toothpaste, some seasoning, jam and that's about it, I believe. I had to drink to glasses but oddly enough, it didn't have a lot of affect on me. In this picture, I already drunk one and I was preparing the second one.

Note: I had to perform this all in jeans only, I have no clue why! :p I think it was to make me feel the yucky things in the trash can on my bare skin.

Task Two

Although the acceptance ceremony was very small and intimate, it gave me a real Welcome Home-ish feeling, and yes, I got a little sentimental. The guys performed some amazing jazz and Sierra, my new love from Greece, and I were snuggling on the couch. The little concert my friends gave me was great and Josie (the blond girl) had prepared some tapas, they were delicious!

The night after the jazz concert, Leo and Jarvis woke me up and gave me white pants, a white t-shirt and black shoes. They took me to a weird building, but the inside was even weirder. There was this completely white room and there were a lot of candles as well. They told me to stand still in front of a window and then they performed some crazy pleading... I had listen to the vows and I had to repeat them as well. They weren't being serious because after a little while, they burst into laughing, and I joined them! That was a night to remember, though!

Bonus Task

On a Saturday evening, I usually hang out in the fabulous games room. It's a good place for me and Leo to talk about the past week, you could compare it to a visit to the shrink! I do eat at my parents' house and I stay there for the rest of the weekend but I just can't imagine a Saturday without an hour in the games room anymore.

12th Sep 2007, 11:43 PM
Not being from the US I have no idea what I'm doing and I'm making it up as I go along! If I've done it wrong please let me know.

Task One: Pledging

To pledge our allegiance to the SEXY Sorority the other hopefuls and myself had to steal the Greek Letters from the front of our rival sorority, the HoHoHo Sorority. We waited until 4 am then sneaked round the back alley. We had stashed a ladder there earlier in the week.

I was given the task of actually climbing up and removing them whilst the others kept watch. It was hard to keep quiet we were laughing so much!

Task 2: Acceptance

Here we are proudly displaying our captured prize at our Acceptance Party. The theme for our party was Goddesses, I dressed as an Egytian Goddess (without the wig!)

Once the formalities were over we were free to party the night away.

Task 3: Bonus

For me the weekend starts on a Thursday night and ends Monday morning! It's a pretty hectic time but Saturday night is always date night with my boyfriend Max. Sometimes we go out with a group of friends, sometimes we have a games night at his place, it's a bit of a tip but he does have a double bed!

Task 1 - Pledging

"Oh my god, it was freezing. I was so nervous, because I knew the water would be ice cold too - and the floating chunks of frozen beer in the pool would probably be painful..."

"But hey, if I had to do it, why shouldn't I have enjoyed as much of it as I could?"

Task 2 - Acceptance

"A few weeks after the pledging fiasco, my best friend Tina (the girl I met last year) kicked some freshmen out of the bathroom for me, and I'd just enjoyed a nice long hot shower. But when I came back to my rom wrapped in only a towel, I couldn't believe my eyes - all my stuff was gone!"

"I rushed back to tell Tina what happened, and I was surprised to find her in a pretty green halter, a nice skirt, and heels. She just giggled when I spilled the whole story. All she would do was hand me a shirt to put on and drag me all the way out of the dorm into the nearby AHA building. By now, my gears were turning rapidly, but I still wasn't sure... Well, we went in, and a nicely-dressed crowd was gathered in the lobby. They cheered and toasted me immediately. As the wild night of partying went on, I gradually gathered that all my things had been taken to the Sorority House - they'd told Tina to keep me occupied for an hour so they could take them! Needless to say, I'm still in shock - yet absolutely thrilled!"

Optional Shot

"Now that we don't live in the same dorm, Tina and I don't get to see each other as much as we'd like. As the days have gotten warmer toward the end of sophomore year, we've spent more and more weekends just walking around campus and catching up. We found this sweet little pond back behind the old science building, and you can find us there, just chatting, most Saturday nights - that is, the Saturday nights when there's no party at AHA or huge exam coming up."

13th Sep 2007, 2:50 AM
Everyone's entries look great so far - exactly what I was looking for. Researching is great, but you can also use the entries already posted as a reference.

13th Sep 2007, 6:38 AM
Another year has passed and I must say that the most eventful occurrences of my sophomore year had much to do with the Chi Iota Kappa sorority. I'm a full member now but each time we do that silly secret dance, the sorority's name spells Chik so take a guess- I am reminded of the hoops I had to jump, or better yet fly through to make it into the sorority.

Hazing? Oh no, the ladies of Chi Iota Kappa are way too progressive for such behavior, wink. One night out of the blue I was accosted on my way back from the showers and hauled off to some dank basement in an unknown building by two ladies in black robes. I was later hooked up to a lie detector and asked by the leader in white to spill my darkest secrets. I knew girls liked gossip but this was a little much.

Truth - or dare me to...

About a month after the lie detector scenario the president of the house, a very proper blonde named Lindsey, offered all the pledges a spa day to make up for that little prank they pulled. Ooh spa, finally some perks right? Wrong! I, along with the other pledges got the most hideous makeovers complete with a dirty mud colored spray tan. To make matters worse, I was late for class and went to find nothing but an inebriated wonder woman outfit in my closet. I wore it to class, face bright red with embarrassment.

Im a Chik now!

I wasn't deterred as I found the hilarity in it all. Others weren't as easy going. After a couple more weeks of party planning and volunteering- the fun stuff- the moment had arrived. One afternoon while making my way home from class a black limousine pulled up in front of me and out jumped three sisters in robes announcing my acceptance into the Chi Iota Kappa Sorority. I couldn't contain my excitement as you can gather from my leaping into the air.

!Air Gracie!

The official acceptance party was a blast and the guys from the Omega Kappa Fraternity were a welcomed bonus. This party was the first of many.

Dance Dance!

Saturday nights were a welcomed escape. I spent most of the week juggling classes and my Chi Iota Kappa duties which was mostly planning volunteer events with my big sis Isabel. I became very close with the girls in the house as Asia had graduated and Missy had opted to finish her last year in Sim City. Our favorite hangout was the tiny pub right off campus where they had karaoke on saturday nights.

Can you screech tone deaf?

Cant wait until im a big sister. Im thinking more fun than frightening, a little more zen and a little less looking like a zoo animal, but thats just me!

This second year of college I was allowed to rush for the Gamma Delta Nu sorority. They seemed to like me well enough and they were nice to all of us rushees. Weeks went by after the ΓΔΝ Rush PArty when I got a note in my dorm mail box one morning. The envelope had the ΓΔΝ Letters on it and inside there was a letter addressed to me on some very fancy stationary. It stated that there were two pledging tasks to complete before getting considered to initiate: the first task was to drive over to Sim Academic College and steal their mascot (which is a cow, ours is a llama), some of their cheerleading uniforms and their 2006 Football tournament trophy.

Stealing the SAC mascot. My job was to be the lookout.

The second part of the task was for one of us to dress up in the mascot suit and the rest of us in SAC's cheerleading outfits, paste a llama sticker on them and go out to the main courtyard at noon and "dance" for the passers-by. Regardless of how many people we made laugh and how embarrased we felt by doing that ridiculous dance in front of the whole school, it'll always have a special place in my memories. The professors weren't too pleased with the mayhem we caused.

"Dancing" with SAC's mascot.

A few weeks after this, I was summoned to the ΓΔΝ Sorority house by a really mysterious phone call. I went over there at the time they told me to and found it completely dark. I was just about to leave when two hooded figures took my arms and asked me to follow them. We went through a narrow corridor and walked into what looked like to be a secret room completely lit by candles. I could see three girls wearing golden masks and the traditional white togas of the sorority (they were the eldest chosen sisters). They asked me to put on the white bikini they had for me and sit on the floor in the middle of the circle they were forming. They placed candles around me and lit some old-looking torches with fire and then asked me to close my eyes and concentrate on positive thoughts. They took out some crystal balls (much like the fortune-tellers) and started chanting in Greek.

Then they asked me to stand up. When I stood up they pulled a white robe over my head and covered my face with a golden mask, pronounced some words in Greek and instructed me to stand behind them as they initiated the next accepted pledge. The audience (the rest of the sisters in the Gamma Delta Nu house who were watching the ceremony) gave us a big round of applause when the eldest sisters were finished initiating the other pledges and welcomed us all with a killer girls-night pajama themed party. Here they explained the initiation ritual, taught us the secret everythings of the sorority and swore us to secrecy. Ailana (my roomate and best friend) and I felt great amongst our new sisters!

Our first Gamma Delta Nu Sleepover party! My other best friend Desiree took the picture.

-* BONUS *-

Since Friday Night is usually some kind of party night with the other sisters, Ailana and I save Saturday night to chill out with a Starbucks coffee (and stock up on our caffeine for the week).

13th Sep 2007, 8:14 PM
Task 1: Pledging

Besides the usual stuff - cleaning the sorority house etc., I had to do some other thing, weird things.
One day I had to wear I pink gorilla costume all day, even to the lessons. First of all, all people were staring at me, and second it was soooo hot in there, I fel as if I'd melt.

Task 2: Acceptance

When one gets accepted, there is no big ceremony. The girls of this sorority are fun and layed back. There's also no big party, because they're partying all the time anyways. The only thing that happens is that the sorority member that joined before you shows you the secret greeting rite of the sorority and lets you swear not to tell anyone their secrets.

Optional Task: A Typical Saturday Evening

On Saturday evening, I always go to Joe's Bar with my friends. They have the best drinks and a karaoke machine!

13th Sep 2007, 8:30 PM
Uh sure... I will give everyone an extra 24 hours to get their entries in, but no more than that.Does that include the optional shot? I'd love to have a little while to finish it up - I have a feeling I may need the extra points! Thanks a lot, bP. :)

Goin' into my second year at SSU, I asked Oppy if she wanted to rush Ξξξ with me. Mama was a sister of the sorority after rushing it her sophmore year of school, and I really wanted to follow in her footsteps. Oppy reluctantly agreed, as long as I promised her it wasn't like those stories you hear on TV about Hazing. I told her pledging wasn't gonna be a problem...oh, if only Mama had given me a heads up.

Most sororities have you clean the house and live in the basement for a week, things like that. Well, Ξξξ does that, but they liked to shake things up an itty bit. SSU is supposed to be "haunted". This big ol' abandoned church on campus is haunted by the spirits of a dead clergy man and this lil' girl that died during an exorcism. We call it "the devils church". Ξξξ decided we had to prove our "loyalty", but staying two nights in the church and brave them ghosts alone.

Investigating the old chapel, I kept hearing the strangest sounds...

The first night wasn't all that bad, I didn't sleep a wink, and I kept hearing these awful sounds, but I handled it much better than some of the girls...
Night two was gonna be scarier, I just knew the sisters had somethin up their sleeves when they told us we'd all be staying in the ol' cemetery together...
The possessed girl! Or my future "big" Molly pulling one hell of a prank on us girls

I was sound asleep one night when I hard this strange sound at the door, it started as a knocking and then someone yelling mine and Oppy's names. I opened the door and it was the sisters! We had made it!
The girls dressed in blue gowns, our "traditional" formal outfits wakin' everyone up in the middle of the night! I was so embarrassed to be in my pjs!

The girls gave Oppy and myself our own blue dresses and invitations to our first Ξξξ formal the next night.

What started as a formal affair, ended in some good ol' fashioned dancing!

Saturday Nights

Most Saturdays I'm with my fellow "triple Xers" or out with Chance (still goin' strong ;) ) In my spare time, however, I've become almost a local music star. I get booked to play at bars and coffee houses when everyone's in the mood for some country.
Rockin' with my guitar on stage at a line dancing competition

14th Sep 2007, 3:18 AM

Our first task was to go to the local convenience store in nothing but our underwear and make a few purchases. On the list were: a can of Reddi Whip, A box of Super Kotex maxipads, and an E.P.T. pregnancy test.

After that we were instructed to go to Le Chenez, the ritziest restaurant in Pleasantview. We were told that we had to remain in our underwear which did not go over well with the rich and famous that were out for dinner that night. Good news is, we got the best plate of lobster I have ever had.

After our interesting dinner at Le Chenez, we were told to come back to the Fraternity house for our final task. Fortunetly our final task was to take a trip to one of the Brother's Beach Houses and get as smashed as we possibly could with a few of the Sister's. As you can tell, we were all a little.. tipsy.

Despite being a chilly fall night, we jumped in the hot tub at about 4:30AM and got familiar with a few of the Sorority girls..

What do we do on Saturday night's? Go Bowling of course! We all put $5 in and whoever has the highest score at the end of 3 games wins all the money! Unfortunetly my bowling skills aren't nearly as good as my hockey skills and I have yet to win the prize money.

Round 2 is officially closed, and I have PMed the judges. Good luck to everyone; Round 3 instructions will be up shortly after the results are posted. 5 contestants will be leaving us this round.

My scores are in!

15th Sep 2007, 10:52 AM
Ok my votes are in... Iactually found this round easier to judge than the last.... But that may be because it didn't take so long!

16th Sep 2007, 2:53 AM
The numbers look pretty close! I will be posting the results in a few hours; now its time for me to "Extreme Hunt" with my uncle (its kinda like treasure hunting, only with GPS). Be back soon, and good luck again!

EDIT: Ok I have all the scores, besides one score that a judge forgot to fill in! Im waiting to hear back from him, but rest assured that scores and comments will be up as soon as possible. There are some really close ones here!

And even though there will be eliminations, would people like me to post the Round 3 instructions so yall can get a head start on at least brainstorming? Let me know...

16th Sep 2007, 3:01 AM
I would appreciate your posting them, bP, just in case... :)

16th Sep 2007, 3:12 AM

Junior Year

You have finally realized your dream of becoming a part of a Greek House! It was hard work getting in, but it was also a lot of fun along the way - wouldnt you agree? But (unfortunately) the party is over, and its time to get down to business. Junior year is an important year for all college students, and the time has come to spend less time goofing off and partying and more time studying and actually going to class.

Task One: Your Classes
In your Junior year, everyone has chosen their major. So tell us:
1. What is your major?
2. Why did you choose it?
3. What classes are you taking this year?
2 Pictures of your Sim studying/in class/doing something studious

Task Two: Your Study-Place and Your Biggest Distraction
Most people have one favorite place to study. Is it the library? Your dorm room? Back at your parents' house? Show us! And needless to say, every college student ALWAYS has a distraction which keeps them from studying. What is yours? A favorite TV show? A significant other? Tell us!
1 Picture of your Sim's favorite place to study (your Sim DOES NOT have to be in this picture)
1 Picture of your Sim's biggest distraction (your Sim DOES have to be in this picture)

:here: BONUS TASK: The "IT" Spot
This task is completely optional, but completing it can earn you up to 5 extra credit points which will be added onto this round's scores. Is there one place (public place) on the campus where you love to hang out? What is your favorite place to hang out, grab a bite to eat or try to pick up girls? Tell us about it! (This picture can be the inside or outside of the hang out spot). Take only one picture (so make it count) illustrating your Sim's favorite public hang-out spot.

Round 3 ends on 9.20.07 @ 6:oo PM (US Central Time)

16th Sep 2007, 2:02 PM
Ok I'd like to apologize.... that one score that wasn't filled in was mine.....
But i sorted it at like 9 this morning so I'm not holding you up anymore.....

Round 2 Results
o1. Jesicot23 [74/100] + 2.75
Really good, the pyjamas are a nice touch. And I really like the idea of dead clergy… quite creepy! Can’t think of a single change I’d make here.
Your last three shots are great, but there's something lacking in the first two.
Very good job! I especially love the first picture, it's great lighting, not too dark, but dark enough to give that eerie feel to it. Plus, Dahlia just looks so cute there!
I really loved the last two pictures; I would have hoped for a little more with the first two pictures though you did a nice job overall.
o2. Gerbera [70/100] + 2.5
Pink gorillas…. Well I’ve can honestly say that’s a new idea to me at least…. (P.S. cupcakes over war any day)
I would have liked to have seen more "action" or goings-on in the backgrounds of your shots.
I love the gorilla suit! Very cute. =) I would've liked to see something a little more varying in your photos, especially in task two.
Oh, I just love Charlotta. The gorilla suit was a really funny touch, although I would have liked to see a little more "scenery" in the first two pictures.
o3. romyhorse [95/100] + 5
I love the Egyptian theme…. Billie looks excellent I really couldn’t think of a way to improve this. (And I sympathise… judging these and being English makes it all seem VERY peculiar)
Fantastic shots. It's obvious you put a lot of thought and effort into them. Well done.
Beautiful photos! I love your task one, it's very creative. But the decorations in the party didn't seem too fitting with the theme...
You rocked this round! The pictures are really amazing, and considering you werent too familiar with the American tradition of "hazing" you did an extraordinary job. Well done!
o4. SilentPsycho [78/100] + 2
…!......!...... Thanks for the British compliment… But unfortunately there are very few old-fashioned guys left over here (and none younger than Angela Lansbury! :S) Anyway some lovely ideas, great story lines and yet more sexual references… Your best work yet!
Once again, the story of your shots is great, but you did not completely follow the round instructions! Your first shot does not contain your Sim, when the round instructions say it should show your sim participating in an initiation.
I love the narration throughout, I couldn't stop laughing! Both tasks are beautifully done, especially the first one, love how she finds out what kind of underwear he wears, it seems very much like her character to do so.
The story was great! Although I was looking for more of a "your Sim participating" in both Task One's pictures, but you did well overall.
o5. Bad kay [84/100] + 3.75
Some nice ideas…. Some very good pictures and some well written storyline… an excellent entry.
Your shots are great! I like how things are happening around your Sim in your shots; makes it more real.
Beautiful work! I love your scenarios, but I would've liked it if there were more pictures of his face. I love all the expressions, they fit with everything.
Your story and accompanying pictures were awesome! You really captured what pledging/rush and initiation is all about!
o6. FireAzor [87/100] + 4.5
Excellent pictures, you clearly have a real talent for staging. I hope to see this guy again in the next round.
Great shots! There's a lot of action in your shots, which are appealing to the eye. Good job.
Very beautiful tasks! I love task two pictures, they're very well planned, the expressions and lighting is perfect!
Great work! I love the pictures, and the story you wrote was really great.
o7. ashleybrooke [83/100] + 2.75
Hmmmm what to say…..! She’s no shrinking violet, good solid ideas backed up with excellent pictures!
Funny story; it definitely made me laugh. The backgrounds of the club shots are a little plain, though.
Very wonderful! I love how Bianca thought she didn't get in, but she actually did. I especially love the photo where she's coming out of her class.
Nice pictures and story. I really love that you chose to have the Sisters throw a ball/dance; I love the elegant-ness!
o8. goodnightpeter [91/100] + 4.25
Honestly, I’m surprised the woman with the black hair looked away…. Many women wouldn’t have! A very well executed entry. Good luck!
Very creative hazing shots! I love your attention to detail. Good job.
Haha, terrific job! I love how the woman looks in the background of the picture where they're in Le Chenez!
Another wonderful entry! The pictures are so unique, and I really love the story you wrote to accompany them. Well done!
o9. FireAzor [81/100] + 3.75
Very good entry, very different ideas form your other entry and again truly stupendous staging (running out of adjectives here!)
Your first initiation shot is quite striking; the blue-ness of your Sim is the finishing touch. I do think you over-do it with the gaussian blur, though.
Beautiful photos! They're very beautifully taken. I love the sleepover picture, they all look like such great friends! =)
Your pictures didnt "wow" me, but I think they were done well. I could tell, however, that you spent a lot of time and effort putting this entry together - so well done!
1o. TLAWBLIQUE360 [73/100] + 3.25
There’s nothing wrong with wanting a little gossip… especially not when you have the power to get it. Very well done here.
I love all the goings-on in the backgrounds of your shots!
Very nice pictures! I really like the dance one, it has very nice colors. I don't really see how the spa thing went wrong, but it's a very nice picture otherwise.
Nice pictures. I really love the dancing one!
12. Daisie [80/100] + 3.5
Excellent. Hope to see you in the next round because it would be a real shame to lose you and Jessica.
Your shots are nice, but not spectacular, although I really like your story! I would have liked to have seen more action and animation from the other Sims in your shots
Beautiful! I love the task one photos, 'specially the second one, I love her expression there! The second acceptance picture is a little too dark, but I love how it's set up.
Your pictures were not spectacular, but the story and ideas behind the pictures were very unique and done very well. Great job overall.

Thank you for the constructive comments judges :) I'm taking notes ...

16th Sep 2007, 8:05 PM
Ah well, knew this was going to happen. the bit about the Sim having to be in both pictures never really sunk in. :)

In any case, congratulations to those who got through, and thank you judges for the great comments! I'll be lurking...:D

16th Sep 2007, 8:28 PM
Congratulations to all those who made it. Good Luck and ill be checking back to see who wins. Time to go kill Gracie... :rip:

16th Sep 2007, 8:33 PM
Such a pity to see you go! I really didn't expect that result.... but I'm just one judge unfortunately *considers cloning self*

Anyway guys and girls looking forward to round 3 :)

16th Sep 2007, 8:34 PM
Im a little dissapointed(understatement) but I guess this wasnt too bad for my first contest. Congratulations to all those who made it. Any tips on how to do better next time?
Contests are fierce, especially when youre competing against some of our well-seasoned veterans. The best "tip" I cant give you is this: PRACTICE! Some contests you will soar through with flying colors and others you may bomb out. This all depends on how much practice you put into picture-taking, set-making, etc and how much time and effort you put forth toward every entry. If you want to brush up on picture-taking skills, read through this contest picture taking tutorial here (http://forums.sims2community.com/showthread.php?t=24516). It shares some very interesting tips.

Good luck with your future contests. And remember... practice!

1. What is your major? Well, I had started out at SSU as a History major, but soon found taht to be extremely boring. Luckily, I found my new love... Social Work. So that's what I'm doing now.
2. Why did you choose it? I really want to help people. I was lucky enough to be born into a family that loved and supported me, but I know many kids aren't so lucky. I want to make sure everyone of those kids has a chance to flourish. So I decided that social work was the best way to give them that chance.
3. What classes are you taking this year? This year I'm taking a bunch of courses... Urban Processes and Life Styles, Deviant Behavior, Minorities in America, Mental Illness, Data Analysis with Lab, Spanish III, Human Geography and British Literature from 1800 to 1900.

I've never had to study more in my life. Freshman and Sophomore semesters were a cake walk compared to this year. It seems as though I'll never be able to stop reading and highlighting and taking VERY detailed notes. It's my life...

It's not all terrible though. I do have my Human Geography class with one of my sisters, Tiffany. So we share notes and try and figure out what our professor, Mrs. Krumplebottom, is trying to say.

This year I got to move out of the dorms and into the house. Now that I have a room of my own I don't have to deal with the music and chanting of a very annoying roommate. I just have to deal with the music and off-key singing coming from one of the other sister's rooms down the hall. I swear, if I have to hear that Umbrella song one more time I'm going to jump out the window.

Living in a house full of girls can be a distraction. Every time someone comes home there is a new story to tell. Granted, most of the stories are pretty darn funny, but I REALLY need to get back to studying.

My favorite place to go to study is the Willow Grove behind the Library. It's generally really quiet there. Lots of English Majors reading Chaucer and Hemingway. I assume they are trying to escape the madness of noisy housemates as well.

Trent and I broke up at the end of fall semester. So now on Saturday nights I hand out with the other girls in the rec room of the student center. We sit around and gossip and watch the cute boys heading to the gym. Sometimes a few of the guys from the Delta Kappa Epsilon frat join us. They're pretty awesome. So awesome, in fact that I have my eye on one of them right now. We'll see how it goes. I doubt I'll ever have time for a date though with all this studying!

-* My Classes *-

1. What is your major?
I'm majoring in Astronomy.

2. Why did you choose it?
I've always wanted to know how planets and stars interact with each other and what their purpose is to the Universe space-wise.
I've always been fascinated by stars and other heavenly bodies. It just seemed natural to want to study them.

3. What classes are you taking this year?

I think it would be easier to show you my list and timetable....

let me fish it out....

Doing my Astronomy homework
... these star analysis charts just keep getting harder and harder...

Working on my term paper
...sometimes when my butt starts to get numb from sitting at my desk I'll just lay on the floor and continue working...

-* My Favorite Studyplace and Biggest Distractor *-

My favorite place to study: the roof of the Gamma Delta Nu House
I come up here usually when I'm doing Vector Analysis or Astronomy homework...
the view here of the sky and campus is amazing!

My biggest distractor: Brian Kennmore
I met Brian thanks to one of the sisters. He's a member of the Omega Kappa fraternity.
We've been dating for about two months. If I don't answer my cellphone, he knows I'm usually up here.

-* The IT Spot *-

Bertolini's Pizza
Whether it's a casual dinner on a Saturday night or a between-class-pick-me-up,
Bertolini's is the place to go for the best pepperoni on SSU campus.

[ My Classes ]

1. What is your major?
I'm majoring in Mathematics

2. Why did you choose it?
As a kid I was always good with numbers. They've intrigued me since I can remember.
Most might think that it's nerdy to like math, but all you need are good teachers who interest themselves in what they're teaching,
some good faith, and passion for what you're doing.

3. What classes are you taking this year?
Here's my course list and timetable so you can get an idea of what a math major takes in their junior year.

Taking notes in class
Mr Mürer, my Calculus professor, is really putting a workload on us this semester.
The only way for us to keep up is to take detailed notes in his class

Abstract Algebra Exposé
Each student has to expose a topic for Abstract Algebra. It counts about as much as our term paper does.
I was assigned to talk about quatratic equations this semester.

[ My Study-Place and Biggest Distractor ]

My Study-place: the Sigma Rho Upsilon House kitchen
I love it here! It might not be the most conventional places to study, but there are snacks for when I need sustenance, it's well-lit and it's empty most of the time.

My Biggest Distractor(s): my friends and Instant Messaging.
My friends and my own laptop are my biggest distractions from studying.
I can't help being online when the campus wireless is free!

[ The "IT" Spot ]

EuroSand Club
There isn't a Friday night my friends and I would miss here. Hot girls, good drinks and killer music!
It's even gotten better with Luis working here as the dj, we get VIP entrance passes ;)

19th Sep 2007, 12:14 AM
Task One - Classes

I'm majoring in art, of course!
I chose art because, well, it's what I've always done and have always been good at. Even so, I really enjoy taking classes that let me step out of my comfort zone while I'm still doing what I love.
My classes? Well, I take a drawing class, a design class, a sculpture class, and even architecture, advanced Latin, and English lit. I managed to avoid a real math course, thank goodness!
This is my drawing class. The professor is very talented and a great teacher.

Here I am studying Latin on the library floor with one of my sorority sisters, Rachael. Latin is my least favorite class. It seems like I have no natural aptitude for it, unlike the other subjects.

Task Two - Study Place and Biggest Distraction

I like to study for exams and such in SSU's nice, well-equipped library. It has everything I possibly need, from novels to encyclopedias to computers to comfy recliners.

I'm distracted so easily! But c'mon, who wouldn't be distracted by that gorgeous tush? I really need to stop daydreaming, finish that term paper, and get myself a boyfriend already!

Optional Pic - The "It" Spot

This common area is one of the most popular "hanging out" spots on campus due to the pretty setting and its central location near the cafeteria and the library.

19th Sep 2007, 6:26 AM

Your Classes

1. What is your major?
My major is International Relations.
2. Why did you choose it?
I chose to major in International Relations because I believe that I can help improve the International Community. I have always been interested in World news and participated in Model UN during High School and now in College. The issues are intresting and I believe that it's our generation's turn to step up to the plate in order to better our relationship with the International community so that we can efficiently solve the problems of our world today. (Yeah, I'm a big nerd, OK?)
3. What classes are you taking this year?
Public Policy Analysis
Politics of the Developing World
War and Peace in the Nuclear Age
Comparative Economic Systems
Philosophy of Law
Modern Europe 1815 - 1919

Picture 1
My study group! What would I do without them? We are all I.R. majors so we always get together a few times before exams or big papers are due.

Picture 2
Sometimes my (new) girlfriend and I like to study together in my room. At first I thought it was a bad idea (in the sense that I thought we would get easily distracted..) but she is really serious about school and hardly ever talks to me during our "study time."

Study Place
My favorite place to study is the Cozy Cafe. It's just down the street from campus- close enough to walk. I enjoy studying here because it's usually really quiet and overall just a relaxing atmosphere. I just kick back with a hot, black coffee and I'm good to go.

Ahh, her name is Audrina. She's a waitress at the Cozy Cafe and we have grown to be good friends. Whenever the cafe is really slow, she'll sit at my table with me and we'll split a bagel (plain, toasted, with cream cheese to be exact) and talk about life. She's a freshman at SSU this year so lately I've been giving her advice on everything from study habits to boys. She's kind of become like my younger sister.

The "It" Spot
The "It" spot for us is definitely Chubby's. It's a diner right outside of campus. Basically if we didn't have Chubby's we would all starve to death. We go there at least three times a week and just hang out or get something to eat.

Task One

Your Classes

1. What is your major?
Political Science
2. Why did you choose it?
I was one of those teenagers that didn't really know what to do. At the end of high school, I met a guy who told me some stuff about the different possibilities and I did a test. The man told me I might want to do something with my interests in politics and I thought so too. I want to work in an ambassy in a foreign country, in Africa or Europe. I'm thinking about Italy or Spain maybe.
3. What classes are you taking this year?
Political Theory, American Politics, Comparative Politics, World Politics and Political Science Methodology.

In this picture, I'm studying in the ancient library where the books are falling apart. But I think the stuff that's in it is still in tact and valuable. Noone ever goes to that library, and I just don't know why. The chairs are crap though, they make my tush hurt...

I tend to wake up in the morning and study. I don't care about getting dressed, I care about finishing that term paper!

Task Two

As a surfer, I love the beach. I always go crazy when I see the waves splashing onto the land. But I've recently discovered that it's also a very calming place, and a great place to study. I only study there when there aren't too many tourists and I never take my board with me, too tempting!

Biggest Distraction
Well, sometimes, I'm not alone at the beach. Parents are building sandcastles with their sons and daughters and some boys like to play volley or throw a frisbee. The beach also attracts hot girls who love to sunbathe in their tiny bikinis! They are very much destracting!

The "IT" Spot
My IT spot changes all the time, but the current IT spot is a restaurant/zen garden. I love the building, the location and that garden is sooo great, it gives me instant happiness! And yes, there's a little story behind that... That's where Deborah and I had our first date, we fell so badly in love in that hot tub, I don't think I'll ever stop loving her.

19th Sep 2007, 10:51 PM
Task One - My Classes

This year I had to choose my major, and I've chosen to major in Zoology. Why did I choose Zoology you ask? Well, partly it's because we have a two week field course on a little island just off the coast to study Marine Biology during the Easter Break, and a weeks fieldtrip to the mountains in June, but mostly it's because of the Zoological Society. It's the biggest society on campus and it has the most awesome parties ever! We have students from all over campus joining the Zoo Soc just for the parties!

My classes this year are pretty cool too, I managed to miss out on the boring ones like Entomology and the difficult ones like Neurology. I've chosen Parasitology, Animal Behaviour, Immunology, Ecology, Reproductive Biology and Animal Physiology, and of course Marine Biology is mandatory due to the fieldtrip.

Here I am in the library periodicals section trying to research a term paper.

But one of the reasons I chose Zoology is because it can be fun too. This photo was taken when we were studying Swarming Strategies in Fireflies for our Animal Behaviour class.

Task Two - Studying

My favourite place to study is my boyfriend's place. My room should have a revolving door on it, there's always a constant flow of friends in and out all day (and night!), and the library is okay for research but I get annoyed with the people who use it as a social area. Max's place is quiet most of the time, he and his flatmates are medical students so they always working or sleeping. It's nice to have somewhere peaceful to go to.

My biggest distraction is definitely my friends! If they see me studying they say "What's wrong with you? Are you feeling okay? Do you have a temperature?" and drag me out for coffee or to the bar. It's no wonder I have to go to Max's to study.

Bonus Task - The IT Spot

The It spot on campus is definitely the Student Union Bar. There are 10,000 students on campus, about half of them male, most of them are highly intelligent, about half of them are hot, and all of them go to the Union Bar! Where else would I go! Of course, I only go to window shop *wink* !

19th Sep 2007, 11:52 PM
awesome entries everyone! :) I've finally finished mine :)

BP: how many contestants will be eliminated from this round?
There will only be two leaving us this round, cutting the the contestant list down to the final five.

20th Sep 2007, 1:20 AM
bP, I have a question - should the sim be in the "It Spot" picture? I realize that it's the optional task, but I'd like to have more of an idea of what you're looking for. :)

20th Sep 2007, 1:38 AM
bP, I have a question - should the sim be in the "It Spot" picture?
No, your Sim doesnt have to be in the picture for the optional task, but he/she can be. The picture really could be an empty room if you wanted. Just use your imagination and remember that the judges have free reign with scoring optional tasks - that means if they simply dont like what youve chosen to illustrate, they can knock off points (ie due to lack of creativity, bad angles, plumbbobs, etc). Luckily, all the judges are really nice, so I dont see them being too mean about it ;)

20th Sep 2007, 1:51 AM
Okay, sounds good. Thanks for the quick response! :)

21st Sep 2007, 12:32 AM
Okie dokie, Round 3 is officially closed and the judges have been PMed. There will be two contestants eliminated this round, and the next round (Round 4) will be the last round of this contest. Since its the Final Round, there will be a few more picture requirements and a bigger optional task (for more points).

Good luck!

Fewer contestants=quicker scoring from the judges!

Round 3 Results

o1. romyhorse [93/100] + 4.25
Perfection itself! Masterful photography, quirky staging and lovable personality all on display here. This is what sims are all about!
Very beautiful task two. I love the last picture, it's wonderfully taken. The first picture is great too, it's very well put together.
Fantastic photos, romy. You really know how to set up your shots so they don't look staged, and that's what I love about your entries.
Your pictures are as awesome as ever, and I really love the first one. Your backstory was very involved and well thought-out. Great work overall.
o2. Bad kay [80/100] + 3.5
Hmmm… send him to Africa we don’t need that kinda competition here in Europe. Now down to business, this is A REALLY Fanpendous (fantastic/stupendous) entry and I’m so glappy (glad/happy) Braeden is still with us. Keep up the excellent work!
I like your second picture, it fits a lot with Braeden's character, but it would've been nice to see his face. I also would've liked to see something a little more creative than just studying and writing a term paper. I like the narration throughout.
Your Distraction photo is hilarious, and totally fits your Sim's personality. I would have liked to have seen a little more creativity in your first two shots, though.
Your pictures are nice, but none of them really "wow" me. I do love what your chose for your distraction, and you followed directions very well.
o3. FireAzor [81/100] + 4.25
Very bad handwriting! How can anyone read that board! Very creative entry here. Loving the timetable and yes it is nerdy to like Maths….. I should know :) Honestly excelabulous (excellent/fabulous.)
Very beautiful pictures, but I couldn't really tell that the study place was a kitchen. Also, Kyle's expression looks a little out of place in the distractions picture. I love your task one, they're very creative ideas.
Your photos are nicely staged, but not overly so. Good job.
I really like your last shot of the club, but the rest of your pictures are just "ok" to me. However you did a good job with the round overall.
o4. ashleybrooke [71/100] + 2.5
Bianca should learn to précis! Um what can I say great entry, lovely dialogue and some brilliant ideas. Keep up the good work and I wish you luck!
The text for your pictures in the first got a little switched, I think. I would've liked to see some sort of interaction between the two girls, or something besides just sitting. I don't really understand what Bianca is supposed to be doing in the distraction picture, it sort of seems like she's part of it.
Good entry, but I think you need to be careful about simply posing your Sims and taking a photo. For instance, your last fourth photo doesn't look natural (she just looks posed) and there doesn't seem to be any kind of interaction between the Sims in your IT Spot photo. Try to get them to interact with each other, and that will help a lot.
I really like your third picture. The idea of all the girls standing around swapping stories is very realistic and well-played.
o5. goodnightpeter [90/100] + 3.5
Being the person voted most likely to be prime minister at school I think I can say politics is nerdy. Owen most certainly is not, he is Amazulus. And I love the “younger sister” comment. You clearly but a lot of thought into this.
I would've like to see something a little more varying than just studying. I really like the study picture, it's got beautiful colors, and a great angle.
Your photos are wonderfully staged, and I particularly like the cafe shots. However, your It Spot photo left me underwhelmed, to be honest. Overall, a great entry though.
I thought you did wonderfully this round. The study picture and distraction picture were my two favorites - although the entire round entry was really excellent.
o6. FireAzor [78/100] + 4.75
Nice job here, an interesting character has developed here. I am so glad she is still with us and I really do like the second shot she looks stunning with that hair.
I would've liked to see something a bit more creative in the first task. In the first picture, the computer seemed a little oddly placed. I like the distraction picture, it's very sweet.
Honestly I was a little disappointed, because I found this entry to be quite similar to you other entry. The photos themselves are good, but they don't stand out from your other entry, either.
Your pictures werent stunning, but I really love the backstory that goes with your entry this round. The last picture is really cute too!
o7. Daisie [83/100] + 3.75
Nice and good to see there is still an unattached sim in this competition! Um what can I say besides very good work, very well thought out and more than anything a lovely entry.
The first picture seemed a little awkward, it would've been nice if it was a little closer on her face. The angle in the distraction picture is a little off, it seems more like she's looking at the camera rather than the butt. =D Also some expressions would have been nice.
I really like the simplicity of your photos. They're nicely staged, and to the point. Your It Spot looks so serene. I love it. I would have liked to have seen more interaction between your Sim and others, but overall, goob job.
I liked how your staged the first 4 pictures, but I would have liked to see the "IT" Spot bustling with a little more life. Good work overall though.

Shouldn't I be one who is out?
Youre right; its been a long day. Sorry for the mistake!

23rd Sep 2007, 10:16 AM
Thank you judges! The standard of entries on the last 2 rounds has been so high I thought I might be out on both rounds, so I'm very glad to be here. Can't wait for the last round.

Bad kay, based on the scores, it looks like you're in.

Thanks for the comments, judges! I thought I'd be out after Round 2, so this is a happy surprise. :)

Senior Year

What an excellent 4 years we have all had! Pledging to and making it into our Greek Houses was so much fun, and we can all admit that we have all been a part of a wild day on the campus at one point in our college career. But this year is time for tying up loose ends, making sure we have all our class grades in order, get our resumes ready for the real world and revel in the fact that we are among the coolest, most popular students on the entire campus!

Task One: Wrapping Things Up
Make sure to get back to your favorite Professor to suck up once more before you graduate. You really could use that extra recommendation letter for your resume, right?
1. Who is your favorite/most influential professor?
2. What class(es) did he/she teach you in the past 4 years?
3. Explain what you did to suck up one last time (did you take him out to dinner, bring her to the art museum, make out with them, what?)
1 Picture illustrating your Sim sucking up to the Professor (your Sim MUST BE in this picture - and it must be PG-13!)

Task Two: Big Man/Woman on Campus
So now that youre a senior and finally President of your Greek House, tell us about what its like to be at the top of the college campus food-chain! Do you have Freshmen following you around? Have you been able to use your resources to open a term paper writing business in your dorm room? Tell us about it!
1-2 Pictures illustrating your Sim acting like a big man/woman on campus (your Sim MUST be in these pictures)

Task Three: Graduation PAR-TAY!
Its finally here! No more college for good! Bust out those togas, formalwear or swimming suits - whatever it is you need to make your party special because you are about to have the awesomest, most talked about graduation party in the history of your Greek House. Do it up right!
2 Pictures illustrating your Sim's graduation party (your Sim MUST be in these pictures)

BONUS TASK: "The Room" Revisited
This task is completely optional, but completing it can earn you up to 5 extra credit points which will be added onto this round's scores. So Im sure your dorm room has changed a bit over the 4 years you were in college. Show us a before and after picture of your dorm room as well as a free shot of your Sim somewhere in their dorm (either their dorm room OR their dorm building or outside their dorm building) doing anything you choose.
1 "Before" Picture of your Sim's dorm room (using a picture from Round 1 is just fine)
1 "After" Picture of your Sim's dorm room (your Sim DOES NOT HAVE to be in this picture)
1 Picture of your Sim somewhere inside/outside their dorm doing something they enjoyed while at college.

Round 4 ends on 9.27.07 @ 6:oo PM (US Central Time)

24th Sep 2007, 3:05 PM
Nice looking round! The competition is really good here :)

26th Sep 2007, 12:42 AM
Hey, just checking to ask if people are making any progress on their Final Round entries. Are there any questions I can clear up?

26th Sep 2007, 1:01 AM
I have four pics taken and ready, and I should finish up and post my entry tomorrow after school - hopefully. This round has been very time-consuming. :p

For Task Two, judges won't deduct points solely for lack of a second picture, right? And if I completely run out of time, would one Bonus picture be better than nothing?

26th Sep 2007, 2:44 AM
It has been time consuming... 8 pics...

I'll have mine in tomorrow or the day after...

26th Sep 2007, 2:58 AM
For Task Two, judges won't deduct points solely for lack of a second picture, right?
Right. The scores for that task arent based on the number of pictures you decide to do.

And if I completely run out of time, would one Bonus picture be better than nothing?
Yes, one bonus picture would be better than none. But the most points you would receive for one bonus picture would be 2.5 additional points (as apposed to a maximum of 5 points for 2 bonus pictures).

It has been time consuming... 8 pics...
Although you only have to do 4 pictures, I do understand this round will be more time-consuming than others.

26th Sep 2007, 3:04 AM
I had to reinstall due to problems so it's taking me extra long to complete this round because I've had to re-download everything. I bought an energy drink though so hopefully I can finish up tonight before I pass out.

EDIT: And right now images are not showing up for me on MTS which makes things 100x more difficult to download the items I need. Today has not been a good day, heh.

Task One: Wrapping Things Up

I coasted through High School and pretty much through Uni as well but a few more points aren't going to go amiss! I decided a little visit to Prof Vickerman was in order, he's the Emeritus Professor of Zoology, in other words, the Main Man! It went kind of like this:

"Hi, Prof Vickerman. I hope you don't mind me dropping in like this."
"No problem! What can I do for you?"
"Well, I'm writing a paper on Axial Organ Cells in Starfish and Dr Barnes said you were the expert in this field. I was wondering if I could borrow your "Starfish Microscopy" book?" Flattery, flattery...
"What's your name again?"
"Billie, Billie Smithson."
"Ah, you're the one who's never here!"
"Umm... ah, well... I've had the flu and... I'm feeling much better now..."
"Hmm, well okay, here it is. I want it back by Monday mind!"
"Yes, Prof Vickerman, thank you! You're so kind!" Grovel, grovel...
"I'll see you in class tomorrow?"
"Of course Prof Vickerman!"

Okay that didn't go quite as intended, but at least he knows my name now!

Task Two: Big Man/Woman on Campus

It's quite amusing walking around campus these days, now I'm President of the Sexy Sorority all the female freshmen are out to impress me. They have started to wear flying helmets like I used to, expect I don't wear mine now that I've grown my hair! I'm still not sure if I like my hair but how many companies are going to employ someone with a shaved head? I can always shave it off again once I get a job!

Being President isn't all fun and parties, there is an important side to it too. I give alot of talks to the girls about serious matters, like personal safety, and drug and alcohol misuse. I'm a role model to these girls so it's important I get across the right message.

Task Three: Graduation PAR-TAY!

For our Graduation Party we hired a private beach near the uni. We had great fun setting everything up and decorating it. It was the best night ever.

At the end we all posed for a group photograph, it will be a nice memento.

BONUS TASK: "The Room" Revisited

Well, here is my room as it was when I was a freshman...

... and here it is now. It's not changed much has it! When I became President I was given my own room with private bathroom, but I kinda like sharing. I'm the sort of person who likes being around people all the time. And yes, before you ask, those clothes have been lying there for 4 years! My room mate is a slob!

I like to hang out with my friends at the Sorority, here we are in the President's Room, which Sheila, the Vice-President, uses. It's a bit... um, girly! Maybe you can see why I wanted to stay in my old room! The four of us pledged together and have been best friends for 3 years now.

Task One - Wrapping Things Up

My favorite Professor at SSU was definitely Prof. Greenman. She taught my drawing class sophomore, junior, and senior year. The Saturday after graduation, I was getting ready for my party when I remembered the gift I'd gotten her earlier, so I drove all the way to campus in my nice dress to give it to her. I found her packing up her classroom - the classroom I remember so fondly! I know she'll enjoy the nice (i.e. very expensive for a poor college grad) art supplies and a biography of one of my favorite artists.

Task Two - Big Woman on Campus

Now that I'm president of my sorority, a lot of things have changed for the good. One of the best aspects of my postion is the speeches I get to give to pledges and incoming freshmen. I love joking with them, occasionally intimidating them, and hopefully inspiring them.

Task Three - Graduation PAR-TAY!

My graduation party was a simple afternoon cookout in my parents' backyard with my closest friends. We ate hamburgers and my mom's delicious homemade layer cake. Then we danced away!

At the very end of the party, everyone was collecting dirty dishes and things when my parents surprised me with a huge bear hug - something they always used to do when I was a kid. Mom cried her eyes out, and Dad told me gruffly that he'd never been prouder of me. It was very sweet.

Bonus Task - "The Room" Revisited

Old Room:

Newer Room:

Now that I'm president of Alpha Eta Alpha, I have a very big room - by college dorm standards, that is. It has the same paint color (dontcha love lemon?) as my original room, and a mixture of old and new furniture. My favorite feature of the new room is the big, bright window on one wall.

Favorite Activity

Believe it or not, my favorite thing to do in my dorm room is just to take a break from my friends, my adoring fan club, and everyone else. I love falling asleep on my comfy yellow couch after the late-night cooking shows.

Sure I can extend the round by another 4 hours - so Final Entries are due by 10:00pm tonight (about 10 hours from this post).

Wrapping Things Up

1. Who is your favorite/most influential professor?
My most influential professor was Dr. Cherem. She was our sponsor for Model UN Club so I have interacted with her many, many times throughout my education here. The thing that I always really liked about Dr. Cherem is she was always well-informed on World News and recent events around the globe. She could relate any topic to something that was happening in the world somewhere which made understanding concepts a lot easier.
2. What class(es) did he/she teach you in the past 4 years?
During my 4 years at SSU, I had Dr. Cherem for "Islamic Political Movements and U.S. Policy", "The Politics of Religion, Ethnicity, and Nationalism in International Relations", "Political Economy of the Middle East", and "Foreign Intelligence and Security Systems."
3. Explain what you did to suck up one last time.
During our last class before the final exam Dr. Cherem told us that she had to postpone our exam because she had to attend a mandatory seminar in Pleasantview. At the end of class, I turned on my charm, and invited Dr. Cherem to my parent's home for dinner during her stay, since they lived in Pleasantview. She accepted, and my mother made an exquisite turkey dinner which Dr. Cherem appeared to love. Throughout dinner we discussed my future plans and career choices and she offered to help in any way that she could.

Big Man on Campus

The best part of my senior year was that I was elected President of the Model UN Club. So, not only was I President of Zeta Psi and an all-star defense man for the hockey team, but I was now the President of the coolest club on campus. Well, maybe not the coolest, but it was cool in my books. It made me pretty popular among the "nerds." :)

Alright, so being elected President of the Model UN Club was great and all, but the most FUN part of being the big guy on campus was the ladies. They love me! No matter what I do, they are all over it. It really helps with the ego.

Graduation PAR-TAY!

We got together with our sister Sorority and planned the biggest party of our 4 years at SSU. The theme? Pajama party at their place! At first us guys were totally against the idea. I mean, it's a little "girly". But then we realized- what could be better than a party with half-dressed girls getting tipsy?!

During my 4 years at SSU I made some lifelong friends and the memories will stay with me for the rest of my life. Oh god. I sound like a chick.

"The Room" Revisited

WARNING: There is a poster on the wall that some may deem as offensive (a ladies behind), therfore I am going to supply a link to the image instead of risking conflict.
Old room.

Since I was now the President of Zeta Psi, I got my own room. So, I moved in a bigger bed and some newer furniture, and voila! Although I got along great with my roommate, it was nice to have my own room again.

My favorite thing to do in my room was to kick back with my ipod and just chill. We all know that between class, homework, parties, and friends, sometimes it's hard to squeeze in "me" time. So, whenever I had time I would sneak into my room and relax. And since I had my own room, I was never really bothered.

I would just like to say good luck to the other contestants and thank you to the judges and bP. :)

28th Sep 2007, 12:41 AM
I will still be accepting Final Round entries until 12:00 midnight (US Central Time). Get em in or you will be DQed!

28th Sep 2007, 5:08 AM
I'm sorry everyone, I can't make the deadline (unless bP gives a longer extension, which I think is unfair for everyone else and unlikely). The computer my pictures are on is giving me a lot of trouble. I've racked my brains troubleshooting and my computer technician boyfriend is still at work...

Good luck everyone! I had fun while it lasted (and I feel bad for not being able to upload pics and getting my entry in on time, but guess it had to happen sometime ;) )... and there's always next cycle! :)

28th Sep 2007, 6:17 AM
The Final Round is now officially CLOSED. Good work to everyone who participated in this contest, and good luck to those still in it! Judges have been PMed, and I will update yall with the final scores soon :)

o1. romyhorse [84/100] + 4.5
I've loved your photos throughout the whole contest, they're so wonderfully taken! In the first picture, I would've liked to see more interaction and Billie's face in it. I love the rest of your pictures too. Task two is great, but maybe a little more interaction in the first picture would've been nice. I love the second picture in task two!
I love that she says, "...cause I want to make money" That's what you should learn while you're in college! Your shots are very clear and well planned. The party picture looks great! I love the coffee maker in her dorm room.
Very nice clear looking pictures. I liked the idea of the beach party, that was very creative and I also like the colourful lights. I also think that all of the pics were well taken and well thought out.
Great Final Round! You were consistent throughout the competition, giving us great entries in which to indulge! I really love the group shot on the beach, and your backstory was awesome! Great work romyhorse!
o2. goodnightpeter [85/100] + 3.75
I love your first task! It's very creative, and the picture is well taken. All your pictures this round are wonderful. Your ideas in the contest have all been so creative! The expressions and gestures fit really well with the scenario.
Your pictures have great color to them. I love that in the 2nd party shot, the party is still going on behind the people who are paying attention to the picture. Go Nerds!
I liked the idea of a turkey feast for grovelling to the professor. I also think that all the pictures were clear and very nice to see.
I really loved the picture of Owen dancing in the middle of all the girls. He is such a cutie, and his personality is a nice compliment to his good looks. Great work throughout the contest; good luck in the final judging goodnightpeter!
o3. Daisie [80/100] + 3.5
I love all your pictures! The first one could've been taken at a better angle though. You've done a great job in the whole contest! I love your task three a lot, it's very relaxed. I love the hug picture, it's very realistic.
I love the idea of everyone hugging her at the end. The aerial shot of her room was cool.
All of the the tasks were fullfilled well. I think the idea of giving the professor is a little bit typical and myabe something a little more thinking outsdide of the box would have been nicer. Also maybe something in the pics to liven up the party pics.
Great ideas; I love the pool party picture especially. Great consistancy throughout the competition, Daisie. Jessica was a delight to get to know.

:1st goodnightpeter with Owen Maxwell [374.5/400]

:2nd romyhorse with Billie Smithson [372.25/400]

:3rd Daisie with Jessica Whitley [336.75/400]

Thank you to my lovely main judges Titania, coldfloral and Fayreview. Id also like to thank my awesome (and really fast) emergency judges Zaggytiddies and GalacticSimmer94 who both returned scores in a matter of hours. And of course, thank you contestants for making this contest so fun! Congratulations to our winner, goodnightpeter, and great work to the rest of you. I hope to see both new and familiar faces in GRΣΣK Cycle Two :D
