When do apps end?

19th Nov 2008, 1:15 AM
I'd like to join, but I do not have internet on my sims computer and my jump drive stopped working. Plus my sims is acting weird. So could I be a judge if you still need one?

Name: Debbie Hoyt
Age: 29???
Location: Pleasantville
How is the father supporting you? He lives with me. He's a great guy with a family aspiration. This child fulfills his lifetime want of ten children so he's quite excited.
Short Biography:
I live in an old castle that needs alot of work. I'm the first Sim my Great Goddess created and I've had quite an exciting life here in Pleasantville. I've made lots of friends -- especially Raven Macadema, the father of my unborn child. We've had four kids together in the past but they're all off to college now.
I'm at the top of my field. I'm a Mad Scientist and thoroughly enjoy life with a platinum plumbbob over my noggin at all times.
I'm really looking forward to my upcoming child since this big ol' pile sure has been kind of empty lately with only the pitter patter of my adopted daughter's toes. I'm sure she'll enjoy a new sibling, too, since she brings home friends from school almost everyday. I think she'd really like having another "little person" around the house.

Head Shot:

Here I am pillow-fighting with Raven before he put a bun in my oven:

Since, I'm always running amuk in my undies (It's one of Raven's turn-ons.), of course, I got my baby bump while getting up from napping on the divan.

Free Shot: Raven and I were cuddling, while I was trying to convince him that all his children's names don't need to rhyme with his, he distracted me with this sweet kiss.

I would love to judge as long as you still need one :]

19th Nov 2008, 12:20 PM
Acey: Thank you for wanted to help judge :D

Deatherella: I'm so glad you caught this for me, I mean, how could I forget the photos? Yes, you will need two photos, a face shot and two before you were pregnant/after(while your pregnant) body shots.

That would be awesome of you two, Chelsea! Thanks!

I had a plot bunny in the shower this morning and figured I should ask first; could we use a Maxis-made sim? I'm figuring the answer would be yes, but thought I should probably ask anyway. (It's not Brandi Broke :P)

How is the Father Supportive? Joel is great, he's been working full days as a Gym Instructor, aswell as coming home, doing all the housework and taking care of me, and he never complains, even when he gives me back rubs!
Short Biography This is my third pregnancy,i have PCOS and we were helped to conceive with fertility treatment. We're hoping this one will go to term, and we are expecting twins!
We suffered two painful miscarriages and are so thankful to be pregnant again, and are doing everything we can to prevent miscarrying again, including me giving up work as a teacher, and a lot of bed rest.

I'll be back after awhile with pics. I found the problem with my game crashing -- wasn't a download, was Sim2 Categorizer. Should've known. Most of that site's stuff never worked well for me in Sims 1 either. My Sim's belly didn't pop yesterday while I was working on my game so I'm gonna go play long enough for it to pop, take some pics and be back with them.

How is the father supporting you?: He is the best. I swear, I can't make a sound without him flying down the stairs to check up on me. I am so tempted to send him on a vacation, so at least I can grunt and moan all I want, he he.
Short Biography: I was born and raised here in Iowa. I have always thought to raise all my kids here and I will. My husband and I have been trying to get pregnant for some time now. We never thought it would be possible to get pregnant, given that I only have one ovary, but when we found out that I was pregnant, I couldn't stop crying and he couldn't stay off the phone.

Ok, here goes :-)

Your full name: Alice Newton
Your age: 28
Location: Maytown
How is the father supporting you?: The father, my husband Liam, is not too sure about us having a baby. Neither am I, to be honest. But he is being very supportive, and is always willing to cook for me (he's an awesome cook!), and put up with my mood swings!
Create a short biography about yourself: Liam and I recently moved to Maytown, as I had been accepted for a job working as part of the crew for a film. Becoming a film director has always been a dream of mine, so I was so happy to get the job! Liam is a pretty famous football player, so he had no trouble finding a job here too. Now that we are expecting a baby, I'm worried that I may have to give up my dream career, so I'm not really too happy at being a soon-to-be Mom.

Head Shot:

Body Shot - Before Pregnancy:

Free Shot - Liam and I love spending time together - I think that he's worried that we may drift apart after the baby is born.

Sorry that the pictures are so incredibly small, I hope they'll do. Obviously I can't really redo them, as Alice is now pregnant so I can't take the before-pregnancy shots again....... Also, I'm going to be away until Sunday, and I won't be taking my laptop with me. I will take bigger ones for future rounds - I just figured out how to use the Prnt Scrn button, which should help!

20th Nov 2008, 5:51 AM
Does this particular baby, have to be their first child?

20th Nov 2008, 6:54 AM
LOL. I just noticed that so far half of the ap's have the couple kissing for the free shot. And three out of four are of them cuddling in bed.

Guess great minds think alike.

Full Name Mienke Brophy

Age 27

Location Currently? Bali - but I'm heading home to South Africa soon.

How is the father supporting you? 'Supporting' isn't the term I'd use.. Let's just say he liked me a lot more before the bump.

Short Biography I'm an free-spiri - er - independent twenty something who had no intention of settling down any time soon. Now, I had worked my bum off for years saving up so I could just do nothing. Why you ask? I wanted to travel the world. And I did just that. Well, started to, anyways. I was living the life I'd always wanted to. No attachments. No obligations. Just l-i-v-i-n'. There was Frikkie, but he and I weren't an item, really. I couldn't say we were in a committed relationship. We were sorta, just, cruising along. Having fun. Granted, we had been travelling (on and off) together and had briefly lived together prior to going off on my big adventure.. but I can't say we were 'together'. And now I have this -waves dramatically at the bump- and, well, it's been tough gettin' my head around it..

Head Shot - Me

Body Shot No. 1 - Hiking in Sequoia National Park (USA)

Body Short No. 2 - Sporting the bump on Sanur Beach, Bali

Free Shot - Frikkie and I - pre bump - in a bar in Brazil

Deatherella: I think its how we include their SO's in the picture, given the situation of course.

20th Nov 2008, 11:41 AM
Does this particular baby, have to be their first child?

Nope! It can be their first child, second child, fifth child, who knows! It does no have to be their first child.

Laura: Your app is fine, but I'd make your photo's somewhat bigger for the other rounds, which you seem to be already taking care of! :D

Summer: Nice application! I hope you enjoy your first contest!

The Father My husband, Spence (Spencer), is so wonderful to me; I couldn’t ask for a better husband or father for our future child! Four years ago, I left home to go on tour with him and his band in California…a few months in I found out I was pregnant. Oh no! Nevertheless, Spencer handled it calmly, we flew back to east coast to have a small wedding and plan for our future baby. By my 4th month in, the unthinkable happened…I had a miscarriage. It was hard to get over; we were both so ready to start our lives together with our new family. Now, we get a second change and we are more than ready to be parents!

Biography A few years ago, I was a pretty wild girl; I was leaving home early, getting pregnant, and partying all the time. After a few years I calmed down a bit, but I’m still a fun-loving girl. I love to play guitar, paint, and I love to dance around in the leaves (my favorite season is autumn)! I currently work as an administrative assistant in an office building on the 45th floor, UGH! Spencer gave up the rock band dream to stay home with me, but he’s doing very well for himself…he just opened up his very first music store, and it’s doing great! The doc says I’m about 2 to 3 months in and that the baby and I are in good condition. After my first mishap, I thought I’d be scared to try to have another baby. But I know Spence and I are ready and I just can’t wait to decorate the nursery!

Location: Devon, England
How is the father supporting you?: Charlie, the father, was forever wanting to quite his boring office job to be a musician. But ever since I told him I was pregnant he seems to resent me and the baby. This is because he has had to keep his old, boring job as it pays well and hasn't been able to have the musician's life he has dreamed of.
Create a short biography about yourself:
I grew up in a happy family, a single child. This was until my father died in a hit and run when I was just 14. You could say I went a little wild. I was just troubled and when I met Charlie when I was 16, well, everything fell into place. We were both a little out of place, unusual. But we grew up emotional and physically. No more emo hair or makeup. I was in love.
Like I said before, Charlie always wanted to be a musician and now... well, he kept his old job so he could support his "family" though he seems to hate the baby already. We aren't married but are planned to be. Charlie comes from a very posh side of the country and seems a little regretful.

Me and Charlie (happy):

Hope everything is O.K with this application. ^^ My sister helped me with the development of the storyline... I hope that is O.K...

Age: 22 years young!

How is the father supporting you?: Well I recently got married to Matt and I plan to stay with him for the rest of my life. He's going to be an amazing father I just know it, some may say our family is building up too quickly and we're too young. They're so wrong.
Create a short biography about yourself: Right, I was brought up in Miama with a fairly rich family. I met Matt two years ago in a nightclub and fell in love with his odd sense of style, his infectious laugh and his good looks. We've been inseperable ever since and even though this baby wasn't planned we're both thrilled to be parents!

Your full name:Anastasia Applewhite

Your age: 24 years young

Location: The beautiful town of Crystal Lakes

How is the father supporting you?: We're newlyweds. We'll both equally support our new baby. Jay works in the Business career and I run my parent's bakery!

Create a short biography about yourself: I was born and raised in Crystal Lakes. My parents own a bakery so from an early age I had a love for baking. To pay off my college tuition I helped out with catering for my parent's shop. That was how I met Jay. We received an order for an engagement party and my parents put me in charge. It was there that I met the love of my life. His father was getting remarried so they were throwing a party. Jay and I instantly hit it off. Two years later he proposed and we had a gorgeous wedding. For our honeymoon we spent a month in Takemizu Village! It was only when we got back that I realized we had a little one on the way. We were going to have a genuine honeymoon baby! I continue to help out at my parent's shop and Jay has put in a few extra hours at work to make sure our baby has a great life. I can't wait till the baby is born!

Here I am!

Oh how I miss being so thin!

Here I am when I first started showing!

When I found out I was pregnant I baked a cake and broke the news to Jay. He was so surprised!

I have a question before the rounds begin, SpicyCookies.
You know how this site has a rule that you don't put stuff from TSR in anything, I believe this means pics, too. While browsing thru posts in the forums, I see stuff that I know I got that are originally from TSR (that I went on a net hunt and got for nothing, if you know what I mean) and I'm wondering if it's okay to use that stuff if you didn't get it from TSR. Or is it just plain tabu since that's the starting point for those items?
I don't want to get eliminated for something stupid.

22nd Nov 2008, 9:55 PM
Deatherella. there are many people who use objects from tsr. i use it in my posts all the time. i dont think theres a problem with it.

How is the father supporting you?
He doesn't know, and you mustn't tell him! I always knew that if I ever got pregnant, it would be high-risk, so there's a good chance I could lose the baby naturally before anyone back home finds out. I see no reason to tell him until there's something to tell.

There isn't much to me. Keeping my life story to myself is one of the few ways I can make people think I'm intriguing and mysterious. I suppose all will be revealed in due course, so for now, I'll just say the three things that are impossible to hide. First, I've spent the last twelve years in a wheelchair. Second, my accent is a dead giveaway that I'm not Australian – I'm from the Northern Mariana Islands, and I'm here in Canberra attending university. Find the islands on a map, and I'll give you a cookie. Finally, I'm in love, against my better judgment, and even though I know I'll never get over him, I'll try... for both our sakes. I guess you can make that all three of our sakes now, right?

Not showing too badly yet, but of course, that won't last long. Luckily, my friends here know better than to ask questions. They'll get an explanation when I'm ready to give one.

Hai!, Hope i'm not too late.

Your full name: Sasha Lousia Logan.
Your age: 21
Location: Pleasentview.
How is the father supporting you?: He's married, so he's not. He's denid my baby ever since I told him the news. I don't need him though, I can support my baby on my own, my own mum did it without help and so can I.
Create a short biography about yourself: Well, my "father" left my mother for a Russian model when I was 2. It honestly did'nt affect me as he had never been in my life before hand, he was always playing away. Apart from that even in my first stages of life I was determind to become succesful, my mum tried her best to bring me and my brother up on little income but she suceeded. I was good at school and got my first Job working in a art shop, I have always dreamed of being a artist but have never had the real talent to succeed, so i settled with freetime painting in my 'art studio'. I have my own little house and when this baby comes i'll give it enough love to last it a lifetime. I don't need it's lowlife father in my life. Just because I got involved with a massive mistake, does'nt mean this baby is going to be one.

How is the father supporting you?: That asshole is forever in my debt for ruining my figure and my plans for the next 18 years...
A short biography about yourself: It's not I didn't want to be a mum, its just that it didn't feel like the 'right' time. I had a great but destructive life: I had the dream job I'd been fighting for all my life as a lounge singer for the most authentic and famed jazz club in all of New York, which meant I never slept because I worked nights, I never ate because there was so much competition for my place, I turned to powders and pills to summon my energy, I made dodgy friends because of my new recreational activity, I was in debt due to funding this new hobby, and had basically alienated anyone who truly had my best interests in mind. But I was complacent about the situation I'd ended up in, I was a young girl in the big city and enjoying myself was the only goal I had in mind, regardless of their consequences. So when a threat to my perfect life arose, I pretty much freaked out, had a screaming fit at my boyfriend and basically locked myself away for two weeks while I came to terms with things.

My little hiatus from the outside world gave me time re-evaluate what I wanted from life. I believe everything happens for a reason and finding out I was pregnant was probably the wake up call I needed to straighten my life out.

Hello to all you contestants! Are you ready for Round 1?! Well, of course you are! This round tells us more about your personal life. We will be talking a bit more about your past and find out more information about how your family & friends are currently supporting you during your pregnancy, how you met the "father", and maybe even learn more about activities you enjoyed doing before the pregnancy.

You must include 1 photo of the fathers face & also 1 other photo of how you met the father-to-be.
We would like to see some pictures of when you told your family/friends about your pregnancy. What was their reaction to the news? There is a minimum of 1 photo and a maximum of 4 for this task.
What’s something you enjoyed doing before you found out you were pregnant? Include a minimum of 1 photo of an activity you now have troubles with.

Make sure to answer these questions in the text included with the photos (don’t answer them as a question, just explain the photos naturally).
How did you meet the father?
What was your family/friends reaction to the news you were pregnant?
How are your family/friends supporting you?
What did you enjoy doing most before you found out you were pregnant?

There is a minimum of 2 sentences per photo. Please contact me if you are confused or need help. This Round ends Wednesday, November 26th .

23rd Nov 2008, 7:49 AM
Okay, thanx for letting me know. I've rebuilt my crusty ol' castle cuz it was too big (used pretty much the actual dimensions of Huntly Castle before) and I didn't know if I should be sticking the TSR stuff back into it during the contest. It might actually have more than one room getting used on the second floor for a change.

My storyline may have inadvertantly took a new turn while I was eating some chili and having a smoke and I left my Sims running. Hmmmmmph, Raven's relatives.

I'm excited and anxious to see Round 1 instructions.

Ooops. Looks like you posted them as I was typing.

23rd Nov 2008, 9:46 AM
Yaay. Gonna do as much as I can tonight cuz this week is going to be crazy with work. Eeek.

Good luck everyone!

- Oh yeah -

What time does this round end? And what time zone. It gets confusing sometimes.

23rd Nov 2008, 12:19 PM
I'm gonna have to drop out (unfortunately... I have been waiting for a contest I could enter for AGES) 'cause of all of my homework and stuff. Now I have decided to take creative and media diploma me and my parents will have to go to a lot of meetings about it and so I don't think I will have a lot of time. Please contact me if there is another contest soon. I'll'd like to judge or even enter if I am less busy.

23rd Nov 2008, 3:00 PM
This contest will end around 11:00pm, this wednesday Summerkelsa :D

"You must include 1 photo of the fathers face"
does this mean that you want a picture dedicated to showing his face, or can it be a picture with him in it, where you can see his face, but it's not necessarily showcasing him?

Also, when it says that there is a min of 1 pic and a max of 4 pics for this task, were you referring to showing the family/friend's reactions or altogether?

Thanks :)

23rd Nov 2008, 5:33 PM
It doesn't have to be a close up on the fathers face, BubbleTeez, but it has to be a clear view of his facial appearance. Yes, when I said there was a min of 1 pic and max of 4, I was referring to the family/friend's reaction only :P Thanks for asking, there was probably others who were wondering the same thing!

23rd Nov 2008, 6:07 PM
Just working on my round 1
I was wondering the same thing lol!

if people are getting muddled up with the time differences, i can make a world clock with where everyone lives so we don't get confused?

23rd Nov 2008, 7:59 PM

I was working in a little cafe next door to the Gym where Joel worked, while studying to be a teacher. He would always come in and buy the most fattening buns and copious amounts of hot chocolate with extra cream and marshmallows, which i found odd as he was a personal trainer and in great shape! When i finally asked him about it, he told me shyly that he had been coming in, trying to work up the courage to ask me out! I thought he was so cute but would never go for someone like me, but he did, and the rest as they say is history.

Breaking the news

We both come from small families, so we got them both together, telling them we wanted to have a family portrait taken. I wore my shirt that says bumps on it to sorta sell it,but kept it well hidden, and waited until right before the photographer took the shot and we both shouted quickly "we're pregnant!!!"

(Left to right - Joels Mom and Dad, on the floor, Joels brother Kyle, my sister Tia on the floor, then my Mom and Dad, with me and Joel behind)

That way we managed to capture the looks on each of their faces, they were all so happy for us after the miscarriages, and cant wait to be grandparents and aunties and uncles!

Joel's been my rock, he'll just hang out with me and the bumps, always stroking my belly and telling me how much he loves us.

Everyone's been so great, coming to keep me company when im in bed and Joel's at work and buying little sets for the babies and cute things for the nursery, as well as getting me whatever im craving.
Pre - Bump

Before we got pregnant, my favorite thing to do was ice skating, and even if i say so myself, im pretty good! Joel never really got into it, thinks he's too macho to twirl round on the ice! Now iv got my bump, it seems to have thrown off my balance and i kept falling on my butt, so iv sadly had to give it up.

Spicycookies is the pic of them cuddling on the floor ok for the face shot of the father?

23rd Nov 2008, 8:43 PM

BIOGRAPHY: I'm doing modeling, but I'm trying to get into the music business. Right now, I'm just doing some small gigs...composing, and writing, but I'm currently working on a demo, to get my signing skills out there. My partner, Rainbow, her son, and I are really a musical family. Derrik just started learning to play the guitar! I'm super proud of him! Recently, though, the family decided it was time to add to the family tree, so I can experience what every woman dreams of, having a child. Derrik can't wait, he's definately ready to be the perfect big brother.

Headshot of Daddy to be:

It was after a long day at school, me and my boyfriend Jake were having an argument, and it was getting out of hand, thats when Hudson showed up. He was a senior and I was a sophomore, I knew who he was but he had no idea about me, he saw what was going on and lended me a shoulder to cry on. After that I had begun to have feelings for him and I soon broke it off with Jake. Me and Hudson had been inseperable ever since. (yes he had long hair :))

The Support:
Me and Hudson took a pregnancy test and it turned up positive. i dont know how this could of happened. we were so careful. We didn't want children, but Hudson said he would be there for us no matter what. Our reactions weren't too thrilling, i know. ( i know this pic was in my app but it went well with this task)

Well, I didn't actually tell my mother. But Hudson and I invited her over for dinner and I unexpectedly had "morning sickness" she ran after me into the bathroom and said "YOU"RE PREGNANT" with a smile on her face as my head still lay in the toilet. I said yes, and started crying.

My mother and I talked for hours. She explained to me that this would be the greatest joy in my life. But I still have my doubts. I still wanted to live. My mother knew I wasn't planning on having children, so she is thrilled, since i'm her only child and desperately wanted to spoil her grand baby.

24th Nov 2008, 8:24 PM
spicycookies: two is great, chowgilly!

charley: It has to be a face shot of the father, or a photo that has a vision of the father's appearence at least. The "reaction" is your families when you tell them you are pregnant.

sugaplum: you can still join :D

24th Nov 2008, 9:44 PM
Well i took one of a plain headshot, like just a plain photo of his smirking and one of his facial reaction of the news to the baby- is it ok to include both- i sorta need it for the story? :)

25th Nov 2008, 1:02 AM
I first met Liam when I was on a night out with a few friends. He was DJing in a local nightclub, and I just fell for him on sight! He looked so dashing and handsome..... Later on that night, I was standing at the bar when he came up and offered to buy me a drink! I was so thrilled, I actually had butterflies in my stomach and everything!

I just don't know what I'd do without him now. He and I have been together for so long, and we know each other so well. I hope that we stay close after the baby is born. I still think he's really handsome, too, especially when he's wearing the nice suit that he wears to dinner parties and weddings.

I think that one of the reasons that Liam and I are so close is because neither of us have much family living nearby. His parents passed away a few years ago, and my parents live in New Zealand. So the only family we could tell face-to-face was Liam's sister, Lauren.

She was so happy for us, and she just hugged him straight away with a huge smile on her face. She doesn't know that neither of us are too keen on the idea of having a baby, and we plan on keeping it that way! Liam managed to put on a happy face whilst she was there, and we don't think that she realised that we don't really want the baby. As soon as I had gone to bed, she was congratulating Liam, and telling him what a great dad he'd be! He has always helped her out with her two sons, but being a dad is a bit too much responsibility....... She is really happy for us though.

She can't come round much, as she has two young children of her own, but she has offered to babysit for us as often as we need when the baby has been born!

She has also given us some of the old baby and toddler toys that she retrieved from her attic. And Liam and his best friend Cyd went shopping the other day, and they brought back loads of stuff for the baby as well.

I am not enjoying being pregnant at all. At first I had really bad morning sickness. That is over now, but my baby bump gets in the way all the time. I have constant backache, and I get tired so quickly. As I think I mentioned before, I love making films, and I had been working on a film documentary about the people who live in our neighbourhood.

But now I can hardly work on it at all, as I seem to spend so much time asleep or eating! And doing the filming makes my back hurt even more than usual. So I have had to put it on hold until the baby is born, which is rather disappointing.

My parents own a bakery which eventually evolved into a catering service as well. To pay for College, my parents suggested I help out with catering. In my Junior year of College my parents informed me that I'd be catering an engagement party in the wealthier part of Crystal Lakes that Saturday. They said it was for a Mr. Christopher Applebottom who everyone around town knew as a rich, 64-year-old, pervy man who was getting married for the seventh time in his life. This time the girl was no more than 3 years older than me! Well, needless to say I was very interested to see the guests! While I was serving food, a young, handsome man approached me. His very first words to me were, "You have cranberry sauce on your cheek." And that was how I fell in love with Jay. Jay turned out to be old Applebottom's only son, although there were 4 daughters. We hit it off right away. I wasn't sure if it was because he was drunk or because he felt some sort of connection with me (he says its this but I specifically remember him downing an entire bottle of wine) but he confessed his entire life to me that night. He spoke about how his father's wives were getting younger and sluttier every time, how he hadn't seen his mother in two years because she was off in Cabo with her new boyfriend. After that night we were inseparable.

Family Reactions

When we found out I was pregnant the first thing we did was rush over to my parent's bakery. We sat them down and broke the news! Boy, were they excited! My mother burst into tears of joy and my father kept hugging Jay and telling him, "Good Job, son!"

Next we went to Jay's home to tell his father and his "stepmother". We found them in the back. Maya, Mr. Applebottom's new wife, was suntanning and barely listening. Mr. Applebottom on the other hand looked quite pleased but I'm not sure if that was because of the baby or because his twenty-three year old wife was laying beside him in a very skimpy bikini.

So Much Support!

My brother, Peter, works as a carpenter and as soon as he found out about the baby he's been spending all of his free time building things! So far he's made a rocking chair, a toy train, and a rocking horse! -sigh- He needs a girlfriend.

Jay is also being VERY supportive. I've never seen him so excited about anything in our entire relationship! He even cleans the house for me! I love being pregnant, he completely pampers me. Just yesterday I mentioned my feet were a little sore and gave me a foot massage! Everytime I see his face he has a huge smile!

His favourite thing to do right now is shop for the baby. We haven't found out the sex yet so he's been coming home every day with dolls, toy trucks, and teddy bears!

I Love Baking!

Since my parents own a bakery I've been baking since I was very young. Its my absolute favourite hobby. I love baking cakes the most, though, because I love decorating them.

Now that I'm pregnant my baking skills have gone out the window! I guess I'm just too distracted by thinking about the baby because I can't seem to bake anything without burning it!

sorry I haven't been online more guys. Something came up- but I'll be more active soon :)

I met the mistake named Ryan Hotwell, when I was 20, I was having some work done on my garden. He was the architect’s manger. Ryan came to my house to review the garden, checking all the pavings, shrubs and flowers were fit properly. He had called me the night before asking if it’d be alright to pop over and see my new garden, when he arrived the next day I stood indoors waving at him to go through the gate- it was much to cold for me to be outside. After I pulled my sweater on I went outside to check all was well when I saw his irresistible face and warm green eyes, or what I could see of them through the thick snow. I stared at him while he was checking the pavings thinking ‘How smoking hot is this bloke?!’ Even when he bent over to check the fences I couldn’t resist a sneak peck at his bum! Stupid I know, I’m surprised as of how naïve I was.

-Headshot of father-

I haven’t told my mum about my baby yet as she’s on a cruise with my kid brother. The only people I have told is Ryan and my best friend Kimi, she’s a bit of a dork but I love her. Well, I never intended to tell Kimi until I told Ryan and my mum but she was the first to know. We go crafts class every Monday night, and after our class I suggested we go back to mine and order some chinese food, something I usually detest. Kimi shrugged that off and accepted the offer for food. While eating and watching a film I was gurgling down water and after some strange looks from Kimi that’s when she came right out and said it “your pregnant aren’t you, why else would you eat and drink something you hate?” I didn’t give Kimi any direct eye contact and tried to deny it, “No use denying it, I know Sash.” I nodded, instead of a full blow rant, Kimi smiled widly, just wild smile.

I explained that I couldn’t possibly have Ryan’s baby as I didn’t love him anymore and he wouldn’t commit to me, nether the less a baby, Kimi assured me that I did want this baby and I’d regret not having it, and she stated it wasn’t Ryan’s baby, it was my baby. Kimi insisted I told Ryan about they baby immediately. It took be several tries to dial his number and pluck up the courage to speak to him and tell him to meet me. I knew he would flip so I invite him over mine, where Kimi would be, she’d sure tell him a piece of her mind if he had a go at me. When he got round the next moring- he immediately start yelling “I thought I told you never to call me at home?!” and he walked madly into my kitchen I couldn’t think of a easy way out of telling him the news so I just blurted it out then and then for a couple of seconds he stood quietly, not believing it was possible, after his confused face turned to anger and his warm green eyes turn to flames, he pushed me against the wall and spat “how dare you! How f**king dare you tell me this now!!!”

With tears running down my face I tried to shove him off and screamed, Kimi came down the stairs and pulled Ryan off me. I ran to the other side of the room. Ryan snared at me and Kimi "You'll be sorry Sasha, I don't want any f**king kid of yours!" then stormed out, how could that warm, loving, gentle man who once loved me turn so hurtful and violent towards me and my baby?

Once Ryan left I burst into a fit of tears in the corner, Kimi slammed the door and ran over to me, she promised me she’d help out with the baby, and I could ask and tell her anything, she said if I needed any help with my pregnancy, labour, money, after the birth or anything she’d help me- she was like a sister to me. And when my mother comes home I’ll tell her my news and hopefully she’ll take it as good news, and take it as well as Kimi did.

Before Bump:

Before I became pregnant I just got into stress-relief ballet, It was really healthy for me, me and Kimi would muck around on it- swining around but once I met Ryan and our problems grew I decided to actually join the stress-relief ballet class and lose some of that built up stress and tension. Soon I became to get really good at ballet, I had my own ballet bar installed in my upper hallway and everything. Once I got the hang of it I ordered a leotard for at home and the classes, it's only just come though- so I stretched it so it will fit and will TRY and practice while I'm pregnant, I doubt I'll be able to do it though- I can bearly manage to climb my stairs let alone prance my flippin' legs up and down a bar and bend and touch my toes.

After Bump:

Lauratje--Are you sure you aren't using the Thumbnail version of the picture?
It does look that way, doesn't it. But it's supposed to be the snapshot versions, so I'm not sure why they're so small. I'm using the Prnt Scrn button now instead, which is much better :-D

Father's Face
Duncan Dawson

How did you meet the father?
It's a rather typical story on how I met him but I'll tell you anyways. We were both sophmore's in high school. He was the jock of the school and I was the geek that almost everyone hated and picked on. Well, one day he started walking towards me and I thought to myself "Oh no, not another jock, please walk past me please walk past me". He wlaked up to me and told me that he thought that I was very beautiful and different from the other girls. He then, proceeded to ask me to go to winter formal with him. I laughed so hard that I had to go to the nurse's office. He walked me to the nurse's office and while I was waiting, he asked me again. I said to him, that it had to be a joke and he told me he doesn't like to play with emotions. I told him that I would just ask my parents. Of course, my parents said yes. Everyday after that, we spent it together and have been happy ever since.

Family/Friends reaction to the pregnancy?
We don't really live anywhere near my parents nor do we Duncan's, so we had to call them up and tell them the news. Some of them were really excited and were gonna catch the next flight out to come see us and some of them were too worried about my health, given that I only have one ovary. They kept asking me how I felt and what I am going to do about pain and stuff. I don't have any pain. They were the most frustrating ones to talk about the pregnancy with.

Family/Friends support?
Whether or not most people don't want me to have this baby they are very supportive. I get gifts from all over the world from friends and family. Sometimes when I get a new present I think, Is my baby gonna be able to even fit in her/his room when it's born? I know this baby will be set for life if I keep getting so many gifts.

What did you enjoy doing before the pregnancy?
Oh my, I love love love to garden. My mother taught me how to garden when I was little and I just grew to love it. It's very relaxing and it helps me clear my mind. I will definitely teach my baby how to garden. I hope (s)he does the same with it's kids.

P.S. Yes that is Frenzy's Duncan. He is schmexy!

My computer crashed about an hour ago after I just spent hours getting my Sim's house habitable and all the peeps lined up and ready to come over and celebrate.

I think I'll have to do it all over again, doubt if the game saved itself (I wish). So, my question is,
Do I have to have my finished product in at your midnight or my midnight tomorrow? My midnight comes six hours after you gals in England.

26th Nov 2008, 8:32 AM
[[ hope it's alright that I wrote this out in more a story-style than Q & A ]]

Before I get to talking about my travelling, let me spill a little bit more about myself, since I left a lot up to the imagination in my vague introduction.

I, Mineke Aletha Brophy/Ten Krooden (mum gave me my father's name), am a bastard. A love child.

Mum was great, not all there in the head but she meant well. She, however, got involved with a married man. My dad - who was and continues to be a great guy - tried his best to support us on the sly but it got too much for him. His then wife ended up finding out and ended their marriage. Everything. Took the kids. Cleaned him up. Not that there was much to take. But, needless to say, his world got turned upsidedown.

I'll give him credit - he held himself together well. Even tried to make the three of us one happy family. It failed, of course, since my mum was a little nuts. He treated me real well. But, it got to the point where he couldn't handle it. The guy's life was in shambles and he ended up loosing it.

Couldn't tell ya where he ran off to but I haven't seen him since I was seven. I've heard from him but I never thought or had the urge to ask to meet up. I just appreciate what he had done for my mum and I and am happy with the fact that he still acknowledges me. That's better than most can say.

As for my mum, she really wasn't all there. But she tried. In her world, I'm sure she was a good mum. But her world wasn't reality. Needless to say, her health (mostly mental) began to deteriorate rapidly once I hit my teens and I was pretty much supporting myself by the time I turned twelve. I moved out at the age of fourteen. Had to. Mum offed herself in a car accident a few years later. All I'm going to say is that I'm glad she found peace and is not in some nut house being fed pills three times a day..

Anyways, I found myself living in a share home with about seven other kids and learned how to juggle school and a job. I understood the value of a dollar and I made a deal with myself once I turned sixteen that one day I wouldn't have to work. I could just live.

It was about this time, whilst living in a different, slightly smaller share home that I met Frikkie. I was now living with Marelize and two other friends, Chane and Luzanne, along with a couple guys who happened to know Frikkie and use to have him around all the time. I didn't think much of him initially. I wasn't the sort to flirt. I wasn't looking for a guy. Had no desire to date. I was waay too focused on working my two jobs and saving as much money as possible - which left me with next to no social life.

It wasn't long until I found my own place. I was eighteen, fresh out of high school, and feeling the need to be independent. As much as it would have been wiser to stay in the share home and save heaps of money, I just couldn't do it. Plus, I felt horrible being there and always being a killjoy because I didn't want to go out and spend money.

As for Frikkie, he fell into some hards times a few years ago and I offered him my couch. He got himself back on his feet but ended up staying with me. I acutally didn't mind. It knocked some money off rent and it didn't hurt having a handy guy around the house.

So, my life was pretty monotonous up until now, or rather, six months ago. I finally decided that I had the cash to begin my trip. So I did. And, well, Frikkie felt the need to tag along. Which was fine cuz he was a fun guy and I enjoyed his company. We left the Western Cape and flew into Argentina (I wanted to see Patagonia) and then headed up to Brazil. And, well, I'm pretty sure this -motions rapidly to swollen belly- was made in Rio.

Anyways, went through some of the other countries: Peru and Equador, namely, before flying up to Mexico. Rented a car (which was hilarious) and drove thru California. Hiked and surfed alot. Flew to Vegas but didn't spend much time there (Frikkie suggest getting married by Elivs..) before I flew to China and Frikkie flew home.

It was just after leaving China and heading towards India when I got really crook. Thought it was the food I ate or possibly the lack of sanitation but - oh no - I later found out it was morning sickness. Needless to say, my time in Nepal, India, Thailand, Vietnam, and the Philippines was one I sorta wanted to forget. I was sooo miserable!

I never really dwelled on the fact that I was late. My cycle had always been a little wacky and I figured that flying so much didn't help. Thought I had heard something about how it can make you late. Might be a myth but I just ended up just shrugging it off. Deep down, I didn't even want to think about why else I might be late.

In the end, I ended up going to a clinic in Malaysia to see why I was so sick and, lo and behold, heard the news I did not want to hear.

The last time I had seen Frikkie was in the states and we were about to meet up again once I got to Indonesia. I really didn't want to call him. So, I didn't. I didn't call anyone. I stayed in, had a really long think in the tub, ordered room service, and laid in bed listening to the waves all night. Didn't sleep a wink. Felt like hell the next day.

Took me till the day I was leaving Malaysia to call my friend, Marelize. I really could have done without the colourful words she used, or her reaction in general. Yes, yes, I know, I'm a shocker. Only I would get knocked up whilst on a trip I had been dreaming about for years. And yes, within the first few months of travelling. Thank you, Marelize.

I also called Chane and Luzanne but, amazingly, Marelize had already called/texted them so my call was received with much scrutiny and trepidation. I think Chane was the only one worried about me. Marelize and Luzanne didn't have the kindest words - but I know they were meant more for Frikkie than myself. In the end, however, Luzanne was adamant that I return home for a baby shower. She also went on and on about what I should do and how to prepare for the baby - she would know, she has a litter. It's nice to know I have my friends behind me, even though everyone is a little.. shocked.

Once I wound up in Indo and met up with Frikkie, I was a complete nervous wreck. I didn't know whether to tell him or just.. pretend it wasn't happening. I was going to go with the latter and just bail out on my dream and hole up somewhere with the kid where no one could track me down but.. the girl in my won out. Damn hormones.

I spilt the beans a few days into our stay in Indo. I had to. I was all bummed and hormonal and he was really making a fuss that I wasn't getting pissed with him. So, I blurted it out. That shut him up.

We really didn't say anything to one another the rest of the night. He ended up changing his flight so he could leave the following day. I didn't fight him. Instead, I made arrangements to head to Bali. And that's where I stayed. I put travelling any further on hold and just soaked up the beauty and the sun of this island. I'm almost debating whether to stay instead of heading home... but I know that being home when I give birth will be the right thing. I may not have many, but I know I'll need my friends when the time comes.

Here's Daddy!

Chris is still at university because he's studying architecture which is a 7 year course... so he can't exactly support me the best financially for a while but to be honest that's the least of my worries. As long he helps and looks out for both of us, which I know he will, that's all the support I need really.

I met Christoffer A. Scott, my baby's father, my first love and before I found out I was pregnant was more a friend with benefits than a proper boyfriend, when I was a moody teenager on the second day of high school in detention. The weepy teacher who was supposed to be supervising us, abandoned us pretty early in and most people decided to follow suit except me and Chris. I busied myself, not really paying attention to my fellow classmate who was doodling away absent-mindedly, alternating my attention between my magazine and how many minutes stood between me and freedom.
With two minutes left to go, my concentration was broken by a loud thud. After initially jumping a mile out of my skin, I seeked to find the cause of the disruption. There sat Chris slumped over his desk snoring peacefully... I woke him up cos it did sound like he'd he hit his head pretty darn hard. I had a yelling fit at him at first because he'd scared the life out of me but his laid back attitude was impossible to be angry at and was annoyingly infectious and we ended up laughing about it. We became close friends soon after that.

The first person I told after taking pregnancy test after pregnancy test was my best friend and costume designer Frances. To say she hated children would be an understatement... When I did tell her over coffee, she laughed at first, thinking I was high and joking but when it became clear to her that I wasn't joking and I wasn't getting rid of it, the most awkward of silences descended upon us. She made a crappy excuse about having to make a phone call and then did a disappearing act on me. I was furious as to why she was acting so immaturely and marched round her house. She was reluctant to let me in but I was defiant that I wasn't leaving till we had a proper sit down talk about things and pushed passed her. I was confused as to why there was so much baby stuff dotted around her living room/ workspace until she told me it was for me! (aren't I clever?) My favourite piece she made had to be a jack skeleton teddy she made.

Ta-da! (http://i38.tinypic.com/2uxyav7.jpg)

I knew telling my mum would be the hardest. I wanted to tell her over the phone, send her a postcard maybe but Chris insisted we do this 'properly' (like we did anything prior 'properly') and go round and tell her in person. He even made an effort and wore a shirt, I on the other hand turned up in the clothes I'd been partying in hours previous before our meeting. We've never been amazingly close and I knew my mum wasn't happy about my current life style but I really didn't expect her to react so negatively... Never had I had so many insults flung at me by anyone let alone a close family member! And then she started poking me too! Surely she'd think better than to assault someone in my condition...

Chris, after spectating for waaay too long decided to defuse the situation which resulted in this...

Uh-Oh... (http://i37.tinypic.com/2m5y1hy.jpg)

My favourite thing to do in the world since I was six years old is perform. It doesn't matter bad a mood I'm in, the minute I'm in front of a crowd, its actually impossible to make me stop smiling. I can still keep my job as a lounge singer but every once in a while I'd perform in stage shows as well, my last one being a reworked Alice in Wonderland stage musical. The entertainment industry is a thickle one, if i even got through auditions with a bump, the morning sickness, irratability, weight gain, tiredness etc would make it impossible for me to sing and dance every night...

And of course my long term recreational activity that would be downright dangerous to continue, the alcohol and the drugs... I want the best for my baby so I'm cleaning up my act for good.

finally finished! sorry for the links to some pics, tiny pic wont resize them for me and im soooo tired, ill try to fix them in the morning x

Here he is, the father of my child and the love of my life. He is my Prince Charming, my Romeo, my Lancelot, my Mr. Darcy, my Rick Blaine, my Edward Cullen, my one and only heart's desire. His name is Rahiti Denora.

Rahiti and I met twelve years ago. I was seven, he was nine, and my family had just moved to Saipan, the largest and most populated island in the Northern Marianas, after fleeing from volcanic eruptions on the smaller island of Agrihan. Though I lived there for so long, technically, I never set foot on Saipan – I was injured in the evacuation, and when I woke up, I couldn't feel my legs. Rahiti and his family lived down the street. Nearly all my extended family lived on Saipan (my mother has eight siblings, one of whom was the island's governor at the time, and my father is the oldest of five), so I was by no means an outsider by name, but the wheelchair made me different. Rahiti and his family were different, too. Besides the obvious differences, like he can walk and I can't, there were deeper, darker things, but at the time, none of them mattered. All I or anyone else saw was the shy Denora boy who liked to read and do puzzles with Governor Babauta's crippled niece. He was my friend... the only one I had who didn't know me before the accident, and thus, didn't have the chance to let it change how he felt about me.

It feels like it's been so much longer than it really has, and surprisingly, more things didn't change than did. I knew, however, that it wouldn't last, and this child was the herald of the changes to come. This isn't the first time I'd been pregnant by Rahiti. In our relationship's three year, on/off life, I knew I'd been pregnant at least twice, and possibly up to five times, but I miscarried early. This was the first time it looked like there was a chance I might bring it to term, and more than anything else, it scared me. I was only certain of one thing: under no circumstances could I tell my family. That might make me look like a bad person, but... well, you don't know our families, or our community, like Rahiti and I do. The prospect of our relationship going any further has “scandal” written all over it. They're very traditional, almost to the point of close-minded. If I was a good girl, I'd be finding a nice Chamoru boy to marry and try to have babies with, not gallivanting off in Australia, still hung up on some Filipino. Similarly, his family expected him to get married to a nice girl, preferably of the same race, but as long as she could walk it would be okay, and start a family as well. Even my own twin brother felt that way. Don't get me wrong – our families like each other, and they're actually quite close. Each of us is held in high regard by the other. It's just that Rahiti and I aren't a “prudent” match. None of them would want this child for us, and the fact that it's out of wedlock only makes it worse. I can only imagine what would happen if they knew...

Naturally, though, I had to tell someone, and besides, my friends here in Australia were bound to start noticing sooner or later. I knew they had my back through thick and thin, and they would keep my secret. My friend Isotta was the first one I told, because she never judges people, just listens, supports, and advises to the best of her ability without ever making you feel pressured. (This is why I think she'll make the best lawyer out of the whole lot of us.) When I told her, she was surprised – not, she confessed, at the fact that I was pregnant, but that I'd carried the baby long enough to start noticing. Isotta knew a great deal about my relationship with Rahiti, and that I'd miscarried several times before. She didn't ask me what I was planning to do, although I'm pretty sure I gave her my answer as I was realizing it myself: one way or another, I would hold this baby in my arms and know what it felt like to be a mother, because it might never happen again. She agreed with my decision not to tell my family, but she did weasel it out of me that there was someone back home I thought I should tell, but was holding back out of fear.

Right now, my relationship with Rahiti had defaulted to our “Rania's away in Australia” status – we're there for each other when it's needed, and while we don't encourage our romantic feelings, we don't repress them, either. I stayed up all night trying to figure out how to break the news, and when morning came, I still didn't know what to do, but knew I had to do it before I chickened out. “This is a pleasant surprise,” he said when he answered the phone. His voice was hoarse, but kind – I bet I'd just woken him up. “To what do I owe the honor?”

“Rahiti, I know this is asking a lot,” I choked out, “but I need you to come to Australia as soon as you can.”

Rahiti knew me well enough to know I wouldn't ask him to do something like that unless I had a very good reason. Five days later, he was able to catch a jumper flight to Guam, and then board a jet that carried him to Hong Kong and then Canberra. When he came to my apartment, I didn't need to say anything for him to realize what was happening. Even if it was needed, I couldn't have spoken – as soon as I saw him in my doorway, I started crying. We laid down on the floor together, his comforting arms around me as I trembled with the sobs. “It'll be all right,” he kept assuring me. “We'll figure this out. It's going to be okay.”

I wanted to believe him, but it seemed so hopeless...

In the grand scheme of things, being pregnant hasn't changed too much in my day-to-day life. After all, it's not exactly like I was mud wrestling, training for a marathon, bungee jumping, or racing Formula One cars before this. However, I did find that a lot of the fun went out of my favorite part of academia. When my friends and I get together to do homework or study, we'd go to our favorite bar down the street and take a drink every time we had a breakthrough. Now that I'm pregnant, no alcohol for Rania. I can't even be the designated driver! I still go out to the bar with my friends, but I'm sipping soda water and trying not to look too jealous as they have all the fun.

26th Nov 2008, 10:32 PM
id like a day extension as well, i just need one more pic, but wont be able to do it tonight

27th Nov 2008, 2:56 AM
I am finished with mine. Geez, that took me forever but I think I am satisfied. Good luck everyone!! :)

27th Nov 2008, 5:43 AM
As I said before, I was the new kid on the block in Pleasantville after the Great Goddess created me from a pomegranite, rose petals and some assorted spices. First thing I did after moving into my heap of a castle was get a job in the sciences. Most of the time, all I did was work, work, study, work, work and work some more. One week, I won a love tub in the check pool. Everynow and then, I managed to practice a weird science experiment or two in between soaking in the tub. What a life. Suddenly, there were people popping in to say hi and jump in the love tub with me.
Next thing you know, everyone and his brother were my friend.

Speaking of brothers, that's how I met Raven. I was good friends with Jackdaw Macadema and one afternoon, he brought his brother, Raven over to meet me. You can see me greeting him in the pic below . . .

It was love at first sight for the both of us. Before you could kick the cat, Raven had walked on his starter wife and moved in with me. He's such a nice guy. Despite the fact he's never worked a day in his life, he is the first one to jump up and help out around the house. He makes all my favorite foods now that we're expecting. He's so loving and caring as you can see in this pic where he's giving me his "bedroom eyes". Ooooh, that can mean only one thing.

Life sure does change. Not only are we expecting a new arrival, but we've got some new house members as well. Last week, Jackdaw passed on. Old age will do that to even the best of men. His live-in didn't take that too well. She took to the bottle and staring out the window. Next thing you know, the triplets weren't getting sent to school and social services stepped in. Lucy was so despondent -- she must have gotten really snockered since the day after the children were taken, she was found floating face-down in the bottom of their pool. A good family friend of ours, Phil promptly rescued the trip's from the orphanage and he brought them to us so that they could stay with Unka Raven. This was our first chance to see them in quite some time. We told them that there'd soon be another little person joining the household. The trips were pleased. They really like babies.

Audrey is still ecstatic.

And Phil starting making friends with the bump. It's nice to know that our family and friends are excited as we are about the new baby.

Even the nanny who loves caring for infants:

Well, the last few days have been pretty hectic with getting ready for the new little one, the trips coming to stay with us and all. Phil's happy to pitch in wherever needed, too. He's helping Raven fix up the castle as we speak.

27th Nov 2008, 5:50 AM
If I could, can I have til sometime tomorrow to fix up my entry? After I finally got my game to quit crashing and into my lot, while I was waiting for all the peeps to show up and get happy, this happened:
The only other phone wouldn't work, the nanny burned to death in the kitchen while I tried to get someone to a phone since the fire alarm over the stove never went off.
So, I rushed to have my entry in by midnight. I'm not happy with it.
I hope you don't consider this double posting, but I didn't want this in on Round 1.

27th Nov 2008, 7:00 AM
Ohh ohh. It's not over yet? A day extension would be lovely!
I'm going to hop onto my game and get not only some better pics but some others that I wasn't able to get around to. If that's alright and the round isn't over yet.

27th Nov 2008, 7:07 AM
I don't think it's over, It was supposed to end awhile ago. She never even said anything  hmmm. Maybe she is having trouble getting on. I hope we know by tomorrow. I am tired and going to bed (if my insomnia doesn't get to me). Goodnight/goodmorning everyone. :)

No worries. I think a lot of us have been pretty busy.

28th Nov 2008, 9:23 AM

I was artificially inseminated, so, I don't know the father, nor will I ever want to know. Now, the person that will be helping raise my baby, as the other parental role, is my long time lover, and best friend, Rainbow. She's successfully raised her son, Derrik, on her own, so I know she'll be perfect for the job, and she can't wait to get started.

Rainbow, and I first met, during a photoshoot. She was actually doing my hair, and makeup...which really gave us a chance to really talk to one another. She'd recently broken up with her high school sweetheart, after he found out she got inpregnated by an alien lifeform. I told her that she definately had the iron will, raising a baby boy, working fulltime as a hair, and makeup artist, and then also going to acting school...I was really impressed, and this doesn't usually happen.

Since I first found out I was gay, in high school, my parents have disowned me. They don't even acknowledge me as their daughter, which was the reason I changed my last name, from Margo, to Crick. They're living in a time share in Jamaica, so I do my best to respect their wishes, and not contact them.

Rainbow's mother, and father passed long ago, while working with the Red Cross to help the survivors of the horrid genocide in Rwanda...God bless them, and their bravery.

The only real person that we had to tell first about the baby, was our next door neighbor, and a Godsend babysitter, Jill. She's really considered to be part of our family, and she's always been very kind to us, however uncommon our family situation may be. During talk over Rainbow's amazing spaghetti recipe, I mentioned to Jill that I had already decided that I would not have a baby shower...but she refused to let me decide such a thing.

Following a romantic date night at our favorite bistro, Rainbow, and I were welcomed back home to a big surprise. Jill, while babysitting Derrik, took him to the store to buy some impromptu baby shower gifts. Heh, I guess blood isn't thicker than water.

I used to party a lot, prior to my pregnancy. Drinking, smoking...doing the occasional gateway drug. During my recent doctor's visit, I was told to skim over a list of things to eat, not to eat; drink, not to drink; do, and not to do...during my pregnancy. Truly, I was shocked, 'cause this wasn't a short list. No alcohol, no smoking, no heavy labor, no running...the list went on. He told me to keep the pamphlet, for future reference. Unfortunately, that list has been haunting me since I brought it home.

I really enjoy the occasional drink, and being a model, the first thing I learned from my manager, was how smoking helped big time, to help lose that extra pound. I'm constantly stressed, I can't sleep, especially knowing that eventually...I'll give into the temptation.

So I started seeing a shrink, to help alleviate the threat to do so. Gladly, the three days a week visits at doctor Bergman's office, has really helped...but the one person that really helped me, in realizing it was time to live in the real world...was Rainbow's son, Derrik. He constantly tells me that he, and the baby appreciate how hard I've been trying to not give in...which was really great to hear.

Thanks so much for the extension!

Entry for Round 1: Annabelle Elizabeth Trace

I met Spencer at a club when I was 16, he was 18 and absolutely perfect. I’m still not sure if it was his amazing guitar playing or our similar sense of style that drew us together. He was playing with his band up on stage when he pulled me up during one of the songs he wrote, himself, and it was about a girl he had fallen for. By the end of the night, he asked me to be his girl and I was so thrilled I almost squeaked out the ‘yes’. It was another 2 months after we were dating that he admitted the song was about me, and he had his eye on me almost 3 months before we even met.

Well, as you can imagine, when I got pregnant the first time, my parents were not too thrilled. After a long lecture and a few curse words, they painfully gave Spencer and I their blessing for our marriage. Four years later, they’ve warmed up to Spencer and they are happy to call him their son-in-law. My friends are happy for me and Spence and my parents are now ecstatic that their going to have a grandchild and can’t wait to spoil him/her.

My parents were so thrilled they had a surprise baby shower for Spence, the baby, and me. I hear Spence was in on it, but he refuses to admit to it. They even bought us a new crib; I think maybe they are more excited then us, a total change from a few years ago. They want to know the baby’s gender so they can decorate the nursery the traditional blue or pink. Ugh, my baby won’t be put through the pink fluff like I was! We don’t know what the baby is going to be yet, and probably won’t find out anyways because we want to be surprised but my parents are still begging us to find out.

Believe it or not, I love to sew! I know it’s kind of old fashioned, but my mom taught be when I was younger and its something I’ve always held onto. I was hoping to sew some of the baby’s clothes, but I’ve been so tired and hungry recently and with my frequent trips to the toilet I’ve had a hard time finding time in the day for it.

29th Nov 2008, 2:07 AM
My gorgeous, amazing Matt. The man I met in a nightclub four years ago,
the man I married and cried as I said the vows, the man who's baby I carry
now in my womb. I never thought I could ever love anyone as much as this
man. He makes my heart flutter every time he enters the room, every little
flick of his hair and my heart sighs with utter relief that he's mine forever.
And yet there's someone I love just as much as him, a little person who
entered my life so quickly and made my heart ache with each kick, each time
they shuffle about. The little child in my stomach has taken over my life so
quickly I can't quite believe it.

I'm rambling... on with the recollections of how I told everyone of my little
baby! Matt was the first one to know I'd missed my 'monthly' as my mother
likes to call them. He took me to get a pregnanct test almost straight away
and we were absoloutely thrilled when it came up as positive. We decided
not to have any scans or anything though, we both want the natural
approach with this amazing little one.

My family is the only family we both have. Matt's poor parents died in a
collision two years ago, ever since then my dear mother took it upon herself
to be a sort of surrogate mother to Matt, the sort of mother-in-law every
guy would like to have. So yeah there's only my mum (Kitty), my twin sister
Kelly and my little brother Liam left. Our dad left about ten years ago in a
drunken haze, his belongings thrown on the street in black bags, left for the
dustmen to pick up. Though I was only twelve I hated my father with a
passion and it was mildy amusing to see him stumbling up the street, stopping
and the running madly after the lorry.

And then there's Liam, I love Liam but he's had some major issues lately that
led to him slumping into a terrible depression. I couldn't bare to see him like
that and I made it my duty to find out what was wrong. I'm glad I did as I
not only found out what was wrong (and that is that he isn't going to be
giving my mother any grandkids if you get my drift) but I became a rock to
him. We grew so close and went out every night, better friends you
couldn't find. Then they moved away to New York, searching for a better life
and education for Liam and my mum was getting older and couldn't cope as
much with the extreme humidity of Miami. Kelly moved with them because she
heard the nightclubs were better and so we didn't see each other for a while.

Matt decided to arrange for them to come and stop back over here for a while
just so we could share the good news. I told him it was a long way for them
to come and I wouldn't mind if they couldn't turn up just for the week. He
rung them anyway and they arranged accomodation for the three of them.
We agreed to meet in a nice little cafe I knew, everything was set for the
unvailing of my baby bump.

Matt kept them talking about New York as I waited outside, wearing a slightly
revealing dress that showed off my elephantine bump nicely. It was slightly
scary, I thought my mother might be a little angry at me for getting pregnant
at such a young age. And then I heard Matt say the keywords "I think Laura's
on her way here right now" and I nervously made my way into the cafe...

I walked confidently in, smiling and holding my head high to show off the
bump as much as possible. I saw the look of shock on their faces and tried
not to laugh as they stared at each other in amazement.

It seemed a life time until my mother stammered out the words "You're
pregnant!" and ran over to me crying. Hugging me as though she never
wanted to let me go, the others started to do the same. Promising to move
back here, they were going to sell up in New York as soon as they could and
stay here to watch our family bloom. I knew they were homesick anyway but
it made me feel special at the time.

Something I've missed a lot while being pregnant is the glorious fun I used to
have with Liam. We'd have such fun and the rest of the world would be
blocked out for that evening, it helped him and me to deal with everything life
threw at us. Even though as Kinsworths we were strong anyway our evening adventures were amazing.

Now I'm too tired to do anything in the evening other than to lounge infront
of the telly with some snack and a glass of cola. I miss the nights out and
some of the urm 'nights in' with Matt, there's not enough on telly anyway and
I end up playing on the games console for most of the night. Until the baby
kicks and puts me off and my poor little character gets eaten by something.

1st Dec 2008, 1:12 AM
SWEET!!! Now I'm really excited about Round 2, especially knowing I did better than I expected. CONGRATS, Freelancer!

1st Dec 2008, 6:51 AM
Congrats everyone! Very excited for round 2!

Comments: Great job...it was a great story and creative. A bit unrealistic...how could she have enough money to make a months-long international trip?

She's been working since she was 16.. and usually two jobs. She was putting away parts of her paycheck. Didn't think I had to make note of that. -shrugs-I'm doing the same sort've thing right now. Putting a third of my paycheck into my savings (aka my 'do not touch' account) so I can have a year-long getaway. If you focus more on saving rather than spending (I live off of next to nothing), it all adds up quicker than you think.

Anyways.. great job guys. Sorry to see you three go ;[

1st Dec 2008, 7:39 AM
oops yeah my bad, i forgot to add pics of what she enjoyed doing :( owell, congrats to those who are moving on

Congrats everyone who got through! :)
Sorry to see you three go :(
Can' wait till round two!

1st Dec 2008, 6:23 PM
I'm rather pleased with how I did in that round. Looking forward to round two and I'm sad to see you three go. I know about the fact I didn't do the picture of how she met the father and I realised that when it was too late, I'm really enjoying this competition and well done to Freelancer, I'm in love with your storyline anyway and I think that you deserved to win the first round.

2nd Dec 2008, 9:48 AM
Are we looking to have Round 2 started soon? Im itching to get started on it lol?

Sorry - I'm back from Stratford! I JUST got home from a funeral about 30 minutes ago and I honestly ran to the computer soon as I could. I hated to leave you guys hanging like that. Round will be posted in about 5-10 minutes (3

3rd Dec 2008, 1:26 AM

Congratulations to all you contestants on making it past Round 1, but do you think you have the skill to get through Round 2? Round 2 will centre on your Sim's creative and beautiful side as we will be taking a themed photo shoot that focuses on the bump. Then you will be interviewed & will have to answer a few questions from a desperate reporter!

Take a professional looking photograph of your sim modelling the bump. But there's a catch to this photo! It must be a THEMED shoot (Theme Examples: Underwater theme? Twilight theme? Flower theme?) Make sure the theme is obvious enough for the judges to recognize.

A reporter is eager to interview you about your pregnancy experience so far. Have a minimum of 1 photo of your sim being interviewed by the reporter. Here are the questions the reporter has asked you:
How far are you along on your pregnancy?
What are some name possibilities for the baby so far?
How has being pregnant changed your life(**1 photo required)?
Are you regretting being pregnant so far?
What advice would you like to tell the other current pregnant mothers?

**A photo is required on how being pregnant has changed your life.

There is a minimum of 2 sentences per photo. Please contact me if you are confused or need help. This Round ends Sunday, December 7th .

3rd Dec 2008, 4:58 AM
Oh I can't wait to get started. I won't be able to start until Friday (at Disneyland). Good luck everyone.

3rd Dec 2008, 7:55 AM
Sorry to hear you've been at a funeral Spicycookies, hope your ok.

As a theme, would angel/fairytale be ok? If needed is photoshop ok?

And, just to clarify mainly, how many pics are needed in total? I dont know if im being slow or its cos its so early in the morning lol?

3rd Dec 2008, 8:52 AM
It's times like these that I wish I had photoshop... or any inkling of how to use it (ha).

Sorry to hear of your loss. Hope all is well and thank you for being prompt with posting the second round. It's a lot different than I expected! -gets to it-

3rd Dec 2008, 9:27 AM
What about using Gimp summer?

3rd Dec 2008, 10:27 AM
Never tried it. The only thing I ever use is paint and what tools photobucket has.

- Yes, I live in the stone age.

I might look into Gimp. Cheers, chowgilly.

3rd Dec 2008, 11:48 AM
angel/fairytale theme is absolutely fine! There is a minimum of three photos for this round- The themed modelling photo, a photo of a reporter interviewing your sim and a photo of how being pregnant has changed your life.

Photoshopping is aloud, in fact encouraged. I realize some of you don't have any of those fancy photoshopping programs, and that's totally fine! Just do your best! I'm sure you can still take a themed photo of your sim without photoshopping.

3rd Dec 2008, 3:46 PM
Im working on mine, but i just wanted to check something else, i know im full of questions lol!

For the part about how your life has changed, is it ok to do a before and an after picture for it? Like pics of her life then and now?

3rd Dec 2008, 5:05 PM
Photo Shoot (Fairy Theme)

The photo shoot was for "I'm Pregnant" magazine doing an article about PCOS and conceiving with fertility treatments.
It was so much fun to do, and i felt so glamorous, the photographer said i was positively glowing, he should try throwing up every morning, he'd glow too!

We met up in a local restaurant for the interview, id done a little shopping so i was glad of a sit down! But the journalist Anna Cooper was great and kept an eye on me, i think she was worried my waters were going to break any moment! I reassured her i was fine and not to worry.

How far are you along on your pregnancy?

Im 8 months, and i know i can look like the back end of a bus on my bad days but when we have our gorgeous babies in my arms, i know it will be worth it. Plus Joels already said he'll help me get back into shape after they're born, but i wont be rushing off to the gym straight away, i want to enjoy time with my children, and i hate the pressure the media put on women to get their figures back so quickly post pregnancy. Ill do it in my own time and healthily

What are some name possibilities for the babies so far?
Well we know we're having twins, we;ve had a lot of ultrasounds but arent sure of the sex yet, the twins just dont seem to want to show us!
But we have a few name combination's picked out.
Im a huge Shakespeare fan and if its twin boys, i love Mercutio and Tybalt.
If its twin girls, Joel likes Jasmin and Saffron.
If its a boy and a girl we each picked a name and i think they sound quite good together - Nia and Elliot.

How has being pregnant changed your life

The main difference has been having to give up work, i never realized how much i loved my job before i had to give it up, i miss all my students and my colleagues, and i cant wait to go back when the kids are older.
Now my life mainly involves a whole lot of bed rest, lots of sleeping, visitors and Joel running around after me! I cant complain though, he's been so attentive.
I know for a lot of couples, this sort of strain can ruin a relationship, but i really feel that its brought us together as a couple and to appreciate each other more.

And i know it may sound odd but i love my pregnant body, my cute round bump and the bigger boobs Joel really loves hehe! We just seem to spend the weekends he has off lounging in bed in our pjs, although im not complaining!

Are you regretting being pregnant so far?
Not at all. With all the complications and heartbreak before this pregnancy, i was so frustrated with my body not working properly and doing what i wanted it too. Now, so far *touch wood* there's been no complications so im very thankful.

What advice would you like to tell the other current pregnant mothers? All i can say is, enjoy every minute of it. It will be over far too quickly.
I love having all my ultrasounds, getting to see them grow. Or getting to feel all the little kicks, or when they have the hiccups, its adorable.
But all the morning sickness, rushed trips to the bathroom, indigestion and embarrassing bouts of gas wont matter anymore, when you hold your baby and feel the rush of love, you'll know its all been worth it.

3rd Dec 2008, 6:53 PM

I was spending some quality time with Liam, we were just hanging around in a
cafe having some juice before we set back out on a quick jog -I know it's not
good for me to be jogging but I can't let myself go during this pregnancy!-
and an incredibly handsome young man made his way over to the table with
a charming glint in his eyes. I got the impression he was here to flirt with me
-though I have no idea why anyone would flirt with someone who resembled a
bus- and I was ready to turn him down with a flick of my wrist to show my
wedding ring to the poor guy. Anyway, he started to tell me his name was
Jacob and he was here on behalf of Womans Own magazine and he was
doing an article on young people getting pregnant, at first I thought he was
on about teenagers and I told him I wasn't that young. He laughed and
told me it was about people in their early twenties and whether they're
throwing their lives away. I agreed to talk to him that evening in my living
room and he turned up as planned. I ushered him into a comfortable seat and
we began to talk.

How far are you along on your pregnancy?
Eight months and god can I feel that baby. If this is a boy it's going to be a
soccer player for sure, it really wont stop kicking. Though I have to admit I
rather enjoy knowing that the baby is healthy without any of those scary
ultrasounds! And I may be forced to have a test of the amniotic fluid for
cystic fybrosis and that I am told can increase the chances of miscarriage.
Anyway I'm way past that stage now, if this baby has any disability I know
me and Matt will bring it up to have the best possible life. Oops, you ask me
one little question and I ramble on about ultrasounds and my own plans for a
natural pregnancy!

What are some name possibilities for the baby so far?
So for boys we've got some possible names, quite a few of them actually!
My suggestions for a boy were Nathan, Jacob, William, Alex, Devon, Kieron,
Daniel, Tom or possibly Ben. Matt want's something more original though, to
give the baby a little bit of individuality. His suggestions were Raven, Malekith,
Felix, Cedar, Dallas, Dalton, Talon, Ireland, Sage or Seven, his choice of girls
names was smaller and consisted of Lily, Tallulah, Trixie, London, Paris or
Allayna. I went more traditional with Amy, Abigail, Emily, Natalie, Megan or
Nicole. A long, long list I know but I really couldn't waste the books my
dear mother bought for me on baby names.

How has being pregnant changed your life?
Well I used to have a job as a waitress in a posh restaurant by the beach in
Miami, I spent my time getting flirted with by rich entrepeneurs while their
amazingly beautiful wives went to plaster on more makeup in the toilets.
It was a great life and I loved it, it brought in the cash too! Yet as soon as I
became pregnant they laid me off, they were incredibly harsh and told me I'd
be easily replaced. So my life has changed from glamorous to scraping by on
the wages of my dear husband, dear he may be but he has no qualifications
and a job at Wallmart stacking the shelves. My mum's been a great help but I
know that as soon as my little baby is born I need to re-arrange our lives so
that this child has the best future possible.

Are you regretting being pregnant so far?
Not at all, the feeling that I've got a child inside of me is amazing. It's the
thought that this little baby really needs me to stand any chance in life, that
makes me feel so useful and wanted. The morning sickness is horrible, as is
having the appearance of an elephant but I can get through those things
so easily. The thought of holding the infant in my arms, hearing it cry for the
first time, even things I know are ages away. Things like it's first day at
school, it's graduation and even this little baby's wedding. That's something
I might pass down to my little one, my overactive imagination. It means I
spend whole days just dreaming and of course I tend to ramble on like this...
Maybe I'll stop now?

So being pregnant hasn't interfered in any plans for the future?
Well I wouldn't say that, I mean I was planning to do more of the clubbing
and having fun before I had a baby, the baby will ruin some of my plans but
there are so many new ones to be made I hardly care. The whole idea of me
being a mother seems more interesting than a million nights out or in with my

What advice would you like to tell the other current pregnant mothers?
Just look after yourself, I mean if you harm yourself in any way at all you're
harming your child. Could you give a glass of wine to your baby once it's been
born? No, I doubt you could! But women all over drink while they're pregnant
and I believe it's wrong. Also get some support, things are a lot harder to do
when you have a stomach the size of a bus.

You talk a lot about Matt, has he taken up a lot more responsibility?
Yeah, he's always here for me. He rushes home from work at three o clock
and begins to cook dinner, this was really horrible at first 'cause he didn't
really know how to cook and he burnt everything. Then I started with a
craving for burnt food and I've enjoyed his blackened steak and incredibly
crispy fries.

It's five o clock now is it normal for him to be this late? I mean I'd love to meet the doting dad!
No.. I'm really worried, that's bad for the baby too so I'm going to not worry.
He'll be home soon I'm sure, there's a huge traffic jam out there y'know.

Well I met a proffessional photographer, he was working Jacob on the article
and he told me we'd be going for a sexy/urban theme. He wanted a modest
version of a lads mag pic, no toplessness for me though! I want to keep some
of my body for Matt if you get me.
This guy was great though and he got me into position on top of this huge
expensive mercedes, the sort of car I'm sure Matt dreams of owning. I had my
hair specially done and my makeup too, I had to wear this skimpy little bikini
and I loved it, the photographer had all the best ideas and told me I was an
amazing model!

3rd Dec 2008, 7:03 PM
ga round two sound awesome! Is punk/grunge theme ok for my theme pic?

edt: never mind about the punk/grunge theme, i'm going to do christmas XD

3rd Dec 2008, 9:00 PM
I really hope I'm able to finish my entry! Tonight is late night shopping (have yet to xmas shop - and not everything stays open till 9pm or later here like in the states) and I'm suppose to go out with the boy... and then I'm up the coast all weekend for his company's christmas party. And pics are the hardest thing for me! -pats her geriatric comp-

3rd Dec 2008, 10:42 PM
Well im pretty sire iv finished my entry, i may edit them in the meantime though, but if there's any problems with it let me know :howdy:

4th Dec 2008, 1:32 AM
So, the theme picture, can somebody else be in it, or just the contestant? I figured I'd ask first.

4th Dec 2008, 3:50 AM
Other people can be in it too if you wish :)

Great entries so far guys! I'm impressed by the themed photo!

4th Dec 2008, 7:43 AM
So.. would it be midnight of 7 december?

4th Dec 2008, 11:55 AM
Yes, of course. If you need more time, then I always give it, right? :P

5th Dec 2008, 10:32 AM
Meh. I will definitely need more time, I regret to say. Both my jobs have been very demanding the last few days and I haven't even thought of a theme yet. *cowers*

5th Dec 2008, 11:59 AM
lol Alright! I can move the date back two more days if that helps? Whichever is best for you guys. I can never seem to give enough time. My first plan was to give 5 days per round, but that doesn't seem like enough. I think a week per round sounds fine though.

5th Dec 2008, 3:37 PM
"I was at a shop called mothercare, looking for some baby supplies ect, and this reporter for their monthly magazine (her name was Suzanne Colbank) came up to me asking me to do an interview about being a single pregnant mother.I wonder how she knew I was single and why she picked me- Hmmm maybe 'cause I was the only pregnant woman there? And because I looked like a billy-no-mates when every other girl in the store had a boyfriend/partner with them, while I was on my own, yes my own. I felt like stating I wasn't single, then I couldn't be bothered with the hassle of explaining why I was on my 'own'. I agreed to the inerview and said she could stop by my house the next day so she could do the interview."

When Suzanne arrived, with a tape recorder, note pad and a bunch of pens i invited her into the kitchen to do the interview.

Suzanne: So Sasha, how far are you along on your pregnancy?
Sasha: I've just turned eight months, and I'll tell 'ya, this 'aint no vacation! [chuckles]

Suzanne: What are some name possibilities for the baby so far?
Sasha: Well I guess I get to choose the name all by myself *woo* not. Sorry my sarcasm kicked in there. Well anyway I’ve had baby names picked out since I was 10, when I was married to ‘action man’, anyway they were Ruby if it were a girl and Ross if the baby were a boy, but it’s sad to say, I’m changing those now as they remind me too much of of the father, I really like the name Alisha for a baby girl and the name max for a boy.

Suzanne: What do you mean, I quote, 'by yourself'?
I'm not with the baby's father anymore. Can we continue please? I'd rather not get into it.

Suzanne: Yes of course, so how has being pregnant changed your life, Sasha?
Sasha: Well since becoming pregnant my life has changed big time, I live in a little town, so everyone has heard of my pregnancy, I can’t go to the local grocery store without someone sniggering ‘looks there’s the town wh**e’ or ‘she doesn’t even know who the father is’. They only say it because they know I’m not in a relationship, if I was in a committed relationship, I reckon they wouldn’t dare to snigger about me and my growing bump, so yeah, since becoming pregnant I have lost all that confidence my friends and family helped me build up over the years from when I was bullied as a child. I haven’t been out much, I used to love to go out on the weekends have a nice drink, flirt and giggle my way through the night but now I’m pregnant I don’t want to leave incase another rumor starts to spread.

Suzanne: Sorry to hear that Sasha, but are you regretting being pregnant so far?
Sasha: As much as I despise the father, the comments people have made and this awful back pain, I don’t regret getting pregnant and deciding to go on with the pregnancy, but I do regret the relationship I had with my baby’s father, I’m sorry, I mean the sperm donor, which I’m referring him to from now on.

Suzanne: What advice would you like to tell the other current pregnant mothers?
Sasha: Well, I bet they could me better advice than what I could give them! [laughs] But I just want to say, if you’re a single mum, I know how you feel, just hang in there. As long as you have your family and friends around you, for what ever reason you have no partner, you can still do it; you can still have a great pregnancy without a partner. And if you do have a partner, hang on to them, while it’s hard being pregnant- it’s even harder doing it alone, if you have the choice to have a partner, take it. Over all, be yourself, be comfortable with you body, be healthy and just be blinking happy! Good luck girls, I know I’ll need it as much as you’s!

"After the interview Suzanne asked me if i would take some shots for the cover of the december magazine, i agreed and we planned a date that we was both free."

7th Dec 2008, 12:30 AM
I'm really sorry to do this but I don't think I will be able to continue in this contest (family issues).

Good luck everyone and great entries so far! :D

7th Dec 2008, 4:53 AM
I like all your entries, guys. Glad to see so many people are still enjoying this contest :-) I shall continue to check back here, there are so many good stories to read and awesome pictures to look at!

7th Dec 2008, 7:33 PM
So when is ROUND 2 officially closed?

7th Dec 2008, 10:32 PM
My fault. I'm a slowpoke and have a bad network. On my way back from work tonight, I'll stop by an internet cafe and upload my pics.

7th Dec 2008, 10:45 PM
Heheh. No I was only wondering 'cause I don't have mine in yet, so I'd like to know how long I have to get it in. I just have a couple pics I need to do left.

7th Dec 2008, 10:54 PM
Hehe, well, may the stars align and you get your pics in too. :D Can't wait to see them!

7th Dec 2008, 11:23 PM
As said before, the round closes at 12:00am tonight (I know that would be Monday, but I still count it as Sunday).

8th Dec 2008, 12:37 AM
Oh...crap, yeah, I couldn't make it then, 'cause I wouldn't be able to work on it until midnight tonight. So I guess I'm dropping out...DARN! I should of payed attention!

Okay everybody, I bid you all good luck. Oh, and great job hosting it, Spicy, I'll definately join any contests you plan to have in the future!

8th Dec 2008, 2:07 AM
I thought the deadline was pushed back till tues... I wont be able to finish then. I'm sorry I'd gonna have to drop out too. I was really enjoying this one too.

8th Dec 2008, 2:25 AM
Bah! You guys know you can ask for an extension (AS SAID BEFORE!).. T_T. Well, if that's what you want, then alright.

8th Dec 2008, 4:20 AM
ahhh is the contest still open?

my sims computer has been havingissues, can is till post it this week?

an extension would be great

8th Dec 2008, 6:33 AM
Confused... is there still an extension? I figure the round was over so I originally popped on to say that I had to withdraw. Been up the coast and haven't touched a comp since Friday (had a wonderful time with the other half). Dunno if I will be able to finish, the game keeps giving me issues... however, I would love to try as long as there is an extension.

So.. spicycookies.. extension: yes or no?

Nevermind, not going to be home tonight so no sims access.. and then I need to get some training in tomorrow after work so I'll have little comp time again. Therefore, I'm probably going to have to drop out -- thank you Spicycookies for such a wonderful contest. I would have loved to have done more. Good luck everyone.

ps - I'm still curious as to whether there is an extension and, if so, when the round will be over. I'm sure I'm not the only one wondering.

8th Dec 2008, 10:58 AM
It was all Isotta's doing, really. She met this guy a few weeks back, a journalism major and photography minor, and fell head over heels for him. ("His name is Owen Cloud! Isn't it just the most romantic name you've ever heard?" she'd gushed to the rest of us just before we bound and gagged her) Well, as luck would have it, Owen Cloud was doing a series of conceptual photographs and articles for the university magazine, and he happened to mention that he loved taking pictures of pregnant women because they had this "glow" to them. I didn't want to let her down, so I agreed to offer myself up as the subject. (It wasn't like the University of Canberra's campus magazine was circulated in Saipan, and Owen agreed to change the names. No one would ever know. For all Isotta's done for me, I owe it to her to take the chance.) Next time Owen mentioned his project, Isotta let it slip that she had a pregnant friend who would be willing to help him out...

Owen wanted to meet me and Rahiti and ask a few questions before getting us in the photography studio. He wasn't too bothered by the fact that I couldn't move my legs, saying he and his assistant would just "pose me" how they saw fit. The catch - and this almost sent Rahiti over the edge - was that they wanted me naked. Rahiti calmed down as Owen explained how it added to what he was trying to create as an artist, but I don't think he ever really got over it until he saw the final product. Owen closed out our meeting with an interview that will go along with the photo when the magazine is published.

Owen Cloud: How far are you along on your pregnancy?
Rania Thorangi: Twenty-six weeks and four days. Hey, when your man is coming to visit you on the other side of the ocean, you tend to remember things quite accurately.

OC: What are some name possibilities for the baby so far?
RT: Honestly, I haven't given much thought to that, because I don't even know if I'll keep the baby. My friends have always said that I'd make a good mother because I'm very caring and mature for my age, but honestly, what kind of life could I give a child right now? I'm technically single, living off scholarships and student loans, and thousands of miles from home and a family that would shut me out if they knew about the impending arrival. Rahiti's more enthusiastic about names than I am, and he's at least convinced me that we need to give the baby a traditional Polynesian name, like ours. He likes Akuhata for a boy and Tehani for a girl. For now, I've been referring to him or her by the gender-neutral name of Wiggles, because that's what the kid's been doing for a while now, and it's keeping me up at night.

OC: How has being pregnant changed your life?
RT: Like I said before, it hasn't changed my life a whole lot, at least physically, but something big happened about a week ago: Rahiti has promised to stay here in Australia with me until the baby is born. He's on sabbatical from his teaching job in Saipan, and told his family that he's working at a school in Manila and staying with some of his cousins – cousins who, fortunately, don't ask a lot of questions and have agreed to cover for him should anyone call to validate his story. I know it won't last long, but I'm trying not to think about that. Let me hold on to the fantasy of this being the family I always dreamed of, however fleeting it may be.

OC: Are you regretting being pregnant so far?
RT: In some ways, yes. I do want to be a mother someday, especially to Rahiti's child, and while this isn't the way I wanted it to happen, realistically, it's the only way it ever would have. As much as we would want to – and yes, we have talked about it – Rahiti and I simply can't get married and live happily ever after. Maybe in another place, or another life, but not this one, and the baby isn't going to change that. If anything, it'll make it harder to leave things where we know they have to be.

OC: What advice would you like to tell the other current pregnant mothers?
RT: Surround yourself with people you know will be there through thick and thin. I can't turn to my family, and it's breaking my heart, but I have good friends here who are helping me hold it together. Make sure they know not to take it personally if you get crabby with them, but also don't go around blaming all your indiscretions on "pregnancy hormones are making me act out." Oh, and avoid spicy foods. Definitely avoid spicy foods.

Is any act in life more violent than birth?
Blood, screams, tears, terror... but when it passes, you have a different question:
Is any act in life more worthwhile?

btw, spicy, we only have 10 days before this contest is suppost to end(18th). :)

Ends 12.18.08

Are we still going to do four rounds and ask bP for an extension? cause if this round is pushed back rill tomorrow (9th) it will take around 2? days for judging,(11th-12th) maybe more, then the next round will only have 6 days to complete? without an extension from bP i doubt theres no way we can have four rounds with all the other extensions granted for rounds 1&2? ... :\

8th Dec 2008, 6:32 PM
I was wondering the same thing Charley?

8th Dec 2008, 6:36 PM
I just just pointing it out incase Spicy didn't notice- Some people (who are still in this contest) maybe have Christmas plans so they might even have to drop out even if we get an extension from bP- but they joined because they though the contest would be over by then? (btw - i havn't i'm just saying)
I'm not being rude, i'm just trying to point this out- so i hope you don't take my posts the wrong way. :)

9th Dec 2008, 11:49 AM
:O Didn't even realize that! I guess we'll shorten it down to 3 Rounds then. That would work. Round 2 is closed this morning. Judging will be shortly.

9th Dec 2008, 2:59 PM
Oh crap. I've been real ill and I can hardly get out of bed let alone go into the freezing conservatory to finish my entry. I'm not sure what I'm gonna do.

9th Dec 2008, 3:05 PM
spicycookies, I tried to pm you my scores for this round, but apparently you've exceeded you message quota! :hmm: I'll try again later. :D

9th Dec 2008, 6:52 PM
:O Didn't even realize that! I guess we'll shorten it down to 3 Rounds then. That would work. Round 2 is closed this morning. Judging will be shortly.

you could always ask bP for an extension. I'm pretty sure she'd let us have one, otherwise no star for the winner (unless they already have one) :P

9th Dec 2008, 7:12 PM
There's really no point judging my round as it isn't finished. I think I'm gonna have to pull out, this has been incredibly fun but the computer now has a virus on top of everything D: why is my life so crap?

10th Dec 2008, 4:04 AM
I'm having the same problem as BewitchedPrue :]

Also, I only got 4 entries...is only one person going to be eliminated?

Oh and Beki I judged yours anyway...I'm very sorry about your computer!

12th Dec 2008, 7:16 AM
Whats happening with this then? Since so many people have dropped out/not finished an entry is the contest dead or?

12th Dec 2008, 3:35 PM
My thoughts exactly. Any word on the happenings here?

12th Dec 2008, 4:55 PM
I was wondering aswell..........

13th Dec 2008, 3:26 PM
I sent my scores in the day I got a PM so I have no idea what is going on. I've been wondering as well.

14th Dec 2008, 9:06 PM
Should we maybe message a mod or something? Seems such a shame for such a great contest to end like this?

14th Dec 2008, 9:14 PM
According to her profile spicy was last on yesterday. But has'nt posted since the 9th..... I wonder if she's abandoning it?.

14th Dec 2008, 9:18 PM
According to her profile spicy was last on yesterday. But has'nt posted since the 9th..... I wonder if she's abandoning it?.

Yeah i was just looking at that too, maybe give it a couple more days and message boolpropped?

15th Dec 2008, 2:44 AM
Well Spicycookies has already had 5 days to at least say *something* and hasn't. The contest is due to be over with on the 18th, so I'd message bP soon.

15th Dec 2008, 2:53 AM
Oh man, if I knew this was gonna happen I wouldn't have dropped out, lol. I would have had PLENTY of time to finish my entry. I agree Chelsea that messaging BP soon would be a better idea. I'll try right now to see if someone can be the host (not me, never hosted before). BRB

I sent a PM to BP now all that we need is to wait. :)

15th Dec 2008, 4:07 AM
Thanks for messading bP. Hopefully you hear back soon. I would host it but I've never had a contest either. You guys were all doing such a great job, I'd hate for you all not to be able to finish.

15th Dec 2008, 4:08 AM
Mkay guys, I've PMed Spicycookies just asking what's up with the status of the judging and such. People do get busy with RL around the holidays, so maybe that is the case here. Whatever the reason, we will work it out one way or another. But until then, sit tight guys ;)

15th Dec 2008, 4:12 AM
Thank you BP!! :D

15th Dec 2008, 8:48 AM
Thank you bP! :howdy:

15th Dec 2008, 3:40 PM
Thanks bP!
Btw jugdes, did you manage to PM spicycookies with our scores or was her inbox still full? :)

15th Dec 2008, 8:31 PM
Her inbox was full the last time I checked and now the PM with my scores is missing. Good thing there was only a few of you so it'll be easy to rejudge.

17th Dec 2008, 8:52 PM
Despite her being active on the site today, Spicycookies has not responded to my PM nor has she touched base in the contest thread. So we are in one of two places now:

1. Either someone can volunteer to take over as host (extension will be provided) OR
2. The contest will be closed due to mismanagement.

So let me know what you guys want to do. If someone wants to take over as host, they MUST have already successfully run a contest on this site and cannot be a current contestant of this contest. PM me if you would like to volunteer to take over.

Thanks guys... and sit tight again! :)

17th Dec 2008, 8:56 PM
Thanks bP, does seem rather strange not to reply, even if its just to say that she cant carry it on.

Hopefully we can find someone to take it over, please someone save us lol!

18th Dec 2008, 9:00 PM
Ohhh Damn. I hope someone takes over as a host :(

20th Dec 2008, 2:42 AM
I think they are waiting for their scores. I hope you take over Michele. You do an excellent job with contests. :D

20th Dec 2008, 8:35 AM
Thanks Freelancer for offering to take this contest over.

I will be helping Freelancer out with editing the main thread post to keep everyone updated on the progress of this contest, but all normal questions that you might have for the host should go to Freelancer from now on.

Reminder to the judges: I will be giving Freelancer an extension to fit in additional rounds, but please try and keep your scores coming in in a timely manner :)

20th Dec 2008, 10:49 AM
Woo! Thanks Freelancer :dsausage:
Glad someone has taken over.

20th Dec 2008, 11:22 AM
I'm so sorry I haven't been on here in about a week to judge or anything, but my grandmother has had a stroke and we've had to go up to where she lives. I've only just been able to get onto the internet because she lives up in the mountains and has no internet connection.
I'm not going to be able to continue judging though, because I don't know when I'll next have internet again. I'm so sorry.
Good luck to everyone!

20th Dec 2008, 11:38 AM
Awesome! Thanks Freelancer! It's a shame you can't continue with your entries though, but thankyou very much. I can't wait to see what you have planned for us. Are the round two's still being jugded as they would have been?

edit: sorry to hear about your grandmother BewitchedPrue,
Btw, i think we need two more judges, seeing as one was Bewitched prue and the other was spicycookies, are you freelancer going to take over as one and continue with one?

20th Dec 2008, 3:02 PM
What up, cats? :howdy:

I've just PM-ed boolPropped asking for a ten day extension for the contest. My plan is to have the judges send me their scores for Round 2, make a final round for our three remaining contestants, and have the Round 2 scores count toward the final rankings. I see that Spicycookies had planned four rounds, but I don't really want to do another two rounds with just three people, ya know? I'm thinking I'll take the premise of those last two rounds in the first post and combine them into one, with 5-6 required pictures. That acceptable to you guys? :)

As far as judging goes, yeah, methinks we should find another. If Acey and IceAngel12891 are still up to it, I'll take over Judge Spot 3, and work on grabbing another judge. (any takers, wink wink nudge nudge?)

Regarding the prize, I will contact -Shady- and see if it's still on. I will make some other items regardless, as a thank-you for everyone who stuck it out. :)

I'm working a double today, so I won't be back online until for about another 16 hours or so, but in the meantime, feel free to contact me with any questions you may have. I'm clearing out my PM box and will respond as soon as I can, and if I get the green light for my plan, will post the final round details tomorrow.

Onward, mateys!

20th Dec 2008, 5:27 PM
Hey Freelancer, that sounds good to me.

Thanks again for taking over, i didnt realise there was only 3 people left!

22nd Dec 2008, 7:09 AM
Okay, all our contestants are still on board! I'm working on finding another judge, but figure we can continue into the final round with what we have. It'll be up tomorrow, I promise. (worked late again today, heh.) If you know anyone who wants to judge, have them contact me! G'night, y'all!

22nd Dec 2008, 11:15 PM

Welcome, mothers, to the home stretch! By now, you're probably about ready to get this baby out of you and into the world, and that's just what you're going to do. I'm going to ask you for five pictures this round. They are as follows:

1. Oh noes! The time is now – and you aren't ready for it! Give us a picture showing us where and when you went into labor.

2. All the pain and suffering is worth it, right? Let's see a shot of the little one (or ones!), and also all the important info: name, time of birth, weight, and anything else you'd like to add.

3. Awww, would you look at that? Your friends and family have decided to surprise you with a welcome home party! Show us you presenting the new baby to your loved ones, and their reactions.

4. You've given birth, and so much for the easy part. For your fourth picture, show us a shot of you caring for your little bundle of joy.

5. Congratulations, you're a mother! I bet you're happy about that, right? Of course you are. Everyone can see it, so let's see it now. Your final picture is a close-up headshot where you are smiling, laughing, and otherwise basking in the blissful glow of motherhood.

You may have other sims in all pictures except the final headshot. Each picture should include a few sentences, and I'd also like you to answer the following questions, either separately or with the pics:

- What was it like to give birth?
- How has your life changed thanks to the new arrival?
- What is the best part of having a new baby? The worst?
- Will you be adding to your family again anytime soon?

Final Round Ends Tuesday, December 30, at 11:59 PM GMT-07:00
If you have any questions, please feel free to ask! Good luck!

22nd Dec 2008, 11:23 PM
Oh, good round! :D btw, are we still gettin jugded for the previous round we did?

22nd Dec 2008, 11:40 PM
Yes, you will be judged on the previous round. The scores from both rounds will determine the winner.

22nd Dec 2008, 11:45 PM
ok, are you posting them before this round ends, so if we have comments we can see what we got to work on, or are you watinig until this round end to post them all together.

23rd Dec 2008, 5:23 PM
Just firing up my game, just wanted to ask if its ok to use photoshop and possibly frankenstiening? (sp?) Not saying i definitely can do it but i have an idea and just thought id check before i do.

EDIT - Also wanted to check, is there a limit on pictures?

23rd Dec 2008, 8:23 PM
1.Oh noes! The time is now...

Our due date wasn't until January 5th, but i guess these two little babies have their parents love of Christmas and wanted to be our Xmas surprise! My waters broke while i was cooking dinner, so we kinda hurriedly turned it all off, and dashed to the hospital.
Because of the previous problems we had with pregnancies, Dr Diggory wanted to monitor me and the twins closely.

2.Little ones!

Its twin boys! We've named them Mercutio and Tybalt like we planned, and im so in love!

The birth went well, although i had to have a Cesarean Section so that the boys didnt get too distressed.

Now i know this picture isn't the greatest, and the tubes and heart monitors can be scary. But they reassured us that it was just a precaution, and that they're both fine. Its the first picture of them we have and i will always cherish it. I also love how Ty is looking at Mercutio, so cute!

We had to stay in hospital a week, lots of tests but thankfully everything was ok and i couldn't wait to get our babies home.

3.Aww, what a surprise!

We arrived home to find Joels brother and his husband had arrived and had put balloons all over and banners! They even let off a couple of fireworks but it woke the boys up, bless 'em, it was still a lovely gesture. Our parents couldn't be there as they were on vacation.
They were so in awe of the twins, they both wanted to hold them. i think its a good job there were two of them or they would have been fighting over him!

4.Being a Mommy

I am loving being a mommy, yes its exhausting but the rewards are immense. Just seeing these happy little guys sleeping, feeding, bathing and even changing them, and how they both have their own personalities. I think that because we never thought we'd be parent,s it makes it all the more special now that we are.

5.Happy Mommy

According to Joel, since the birth and coming home, iv had the biggest grin on my face like the cat that got the cream. And i am. i have a wonderful husband and my two little boys, what more could anyone want.

What was it like to give birth?
Well technically i didn't give birth, due to having a CS, but hearing their cries filling the delivery room was amazing, and boy do they both have a healthy set of lungs. Then them being placed on my chest, it felt like my family was complete.

How has your life changed thanks to the new arrival?
Iv become a lot more laid back, like before i was extremely houseproud and everything had to be just so, but now housework will wait and i dont worry if the washing gets left until the day after. We've considered getting a cleaner but im not worrying at the moment.

What is the best part of having new babies? The worst?
The best part has to be just spending time with them,i love the late night feeds because its just us, and i feel so close to them. And looking forward to all the firsts, words, steps, day at nursery. The worst for me would be the sleep deprivation, but i nap when the boys are asleep.

Will you be adding to your family again anytime soon?
Oh heavens no! At least not yet, we would love another child but after all the pain of the fertility treatments and miscarriages, we're just happy to enjoy the boys now. Who knows what the future may hold.....

Freelancer - If there's any problems with it, let me know and ill do what i can to fix it, and thanks again for taking over.

Hope you all have a great Christmas x

@ Chowgilly - can you be more specific with your question as to whether there is a limit on pictures? I do want five, no more and no less, but you are welcome to take creative freedom with those five - make collages, Photoshop to your heart's content, etc. Does that help?

23rd Dec 2008, 9:49 PM
Thats cool, thank you, i wanted to have a pic of her going to hospital, giving birth etc, but i shall do a couple of collages thank you.

23rd Dec 2008, 10:39 PM
Freelancer if you still need a judge then I'm open for the position :howdy:

23rd Dec 2008, 10:48 PM
Freelancer are you posting the scores of the prvious round we did before this round ends, so we can see what we need to work on? or are you waiting until the contest is over? you did'nt seem to answer last time i asked.

24th Dec 2008, 8:29 PM
Charley - yes, I will post the previous round scores as soon as I get them. Sorry, I didn't see when you asked before. I will also try to come up with comments.

Dreamydre15, thank you for volunteering! I would appreciate it if you could judge. lauratje86 has also stepped up to the plate, so I'll add the two of you and remove myself from judging so I can give comments objectively.

26th Dec 2008, 9:32 PM
Awesome Freelancer :-D I'm looking forward to judging the round :-)

29th Dec 2008, 11:37 AM

Funny thing actually, I went into labour with my baby during an personal art class, my teacher Noel, was so surprised, when my water broke he just stood still, gasping at the water dripping onto my new cream carpet. At one point I though I would of have killed him if he didn't get a move on and phone an ambulance.

My precious baby, Mikey Rick Logan, was born at 13:43pm on the 27th of december, weighing 7lbs and 15 oz, I named him after my grandad Mikey, and his middle name after my younger bother. He was so beautiful, when the nurse first laid my baby, MY BABY, in my arms his looked up at me with the same shade of green eyes as his daddy. He's cuteness killed me with joy but my baby has his daddy's eyes and hair colour, and I didn't think I would be able to cope, looking into someone who I love dearly everyday and seeing someone I hate so much - I soon got over that fact and realised he didn't have his daddy's eyes, he has his own eyes.

When me and Mikey arrived home I pulled up to see our yard full of half full balloons, and a red-cheeked Kimi trying to blow some up, the sight was laughable. I waved to her and mouthed 'be right back' and I took Mikey up stairs and laid him in his brand new cot. The cot I had been staring at since I brought it, not being able to wait to fill it with my precious bundle of joy. When I walk back through the gate Kimi dropped the half fulled balloon and screamed 'TAADAAA' I was so happy to see Kimi, she was actually suppost to be my birthing partner but she was out of town at the time of my labour - but as soon as Noel told her she came racing back to my house. The ever nice Kimi brought me some really useful stuff for the baby, including some toys which I had none of and a highchair but I knew she couldn't afford that on her flower-delivering salary so my hopes rised - hoping that my mother had finally came around from moaning about my affair - she is very religious and frowns upon me and Ryan having that affair, "Why did you have to get involed with Mr.Hotwell, you know his reputation and I didn't bring you in believing in adultry!" she says to me everytime I try to speak to her, and of course my brother follows her, knowing that if he doesn't take her side she'd chuck him out and he'd have no money or no where to go - but as I was about to ask if my mother was here, he appeared. It was Ryan. He looked all stiff and rubbed his neck, I remember him saying how sorry he was and how he wanted to be involed with the baby, He had a whole speech planned out of how he behaved and wanted to see Mikey but I cut in and agreed knowing that if I didn't compromise he would invole courts, and I know i'd loose seeing as his mother has a VERY high reputation in the town. But anyway the gesture of a party from Kimi and Ryan was lovely and we had a nice time coo-ing over my - I mean our baby. I'm not with Ryan but Mikey is his baby and Ryan can see him all he wants afterall, Mikey does need a father figure in his life.

I love being a mum, I love the thrills of seeing my little boy grow up, I love the smell of his baby hair, I love him all over. He is such a good little boy, I havn't gone back to work yet but while i'm staying at home i'm getting better and better at art and ballet. I havn't yet got my figure back but god I've only just given birth! Who do you think I am? Jessica Alba!? Pftt. No, I'm Sasha Logan and i'll get my figure back when ever I want - but, i'll tell ya' this brest feeding is sure helping getting nearing to that 'Jessica Alba' body!

- What was it like to give birth?
I found it horrible, I had no loved ones in the room to support me and I never finished my breathing classes so I couldn't do that properly. But the result was so worth it. I love Mikey with all my heart, and don't worry, i'll never let him forget the pain he put me through!

- How has your life changed thanks to the new arrival?
My life has changed so much! I have become so much maturer since I have someone else to look after and it's not just me. a big one is that I have to get up at 3am every morning!! Atleast I have someone who smiles at me 24/7 now.

- What is the best part of having a new baby? The worst?
The best part is what I said above, I have all the love in the world I need. The bit where getting up at 3am is the worst, that tied with money issues, but anyday Ryan is going to send a cheque paying me back for the cot and other needed things for Mikey.

- Will you be adding to your family again anytime soon?
God no! First I need a bigger house and a husband!

31st Dec 2008, 12:09 AM
nice picture taking everyone ;) You all have nice talent and I can't wait to judge.

31st Dec 2008, 7:13 AM
Mmmkay, I am officially le suck. Only have one set of scores from the previous round; working on getting the other. I apologize for my slacking. I've been putting in a gazillion hours at work, which is on the one hand, yay, and on the other, hrrrgggghhh, and I've just been too darned tired to do anything but fall into bed when I get home. Methinks the round will stay open until Thursday, to give you time to make any changes you may want to do once seeing the scores from the previous round.

Also, prize update!! The Shady eyes are still on, and I'll be making a house as well. :)

31st Dec 2008, 3:02 PM
Naa, you dont le suck Freelancer lol, real life just has to take precedence sometimes, it understandable.

Good news about the prizes, you rock.

My entry is done with i think, i may see if i can get my graphics to improve to retake my last shot, dumb graphics lol.

And thank you Dre

1st Jan 2009, 6:52 AM
I did get them, IceAngel. :) Unfortunately, Acey isn't able to access scores or the entries right now owing to being on vacation, so I'm afraid that's out. I'll have my judges score both this round and the previous round when it closes, which will be tomorrow whenever I get off work and can get online.

1st Jan 2009, 9:47 PM
Re-done my entry- by the way Sasha might look a little diffrent because I got new default skins :)

3rd Jan 2009, 8:26 AM

Update: two sets of scores in. :)

Did you get my lot of scores, Freelancer?

6th Jan 2009, 4:01 AM
Excuse me for not really understanding but, we are turning in scores for Round 2 and the Final Round for Simcharley and Chowgilly?

EDIT: mmkay nevermind, I understand now. You should get my scores in a few mins

6th Jan 2009, 3:38 PM
Woo - hopefully we get the results soon :]

8th Jan 2009, 1:11 AM
Not sure how long my internet will hold out, so I'll make this short and sweet. First of all, thank you to chowgilly and simcharley1990 for sticking it out, and lauratje86, IceAngel12891, and Dreamydre15 for stepping up as judges! Here's how the final judging is going to work. Since I lost two of the original judges and thus only had one set of scores to work with from the previous round, I had the new judges score that round as well using 1 or 2 - 1 corresponding to a "higher score." You are judged on overall creativity, written text, and picture composition. Judging is anonymous.

The contestant with the lowest total number of points will be named the winner.
Kind of like golf.

Without further ado...
