This is a large chapter so i may have to break it up into 3
Also, the dialogs in this chapter is just thrown around, meaning it's not necessarily Emalita who's speaking...hope you enjoy it, it was a bit hard to write



‘Thank’s for preparing the steaks Seth, I really appreciate it. Everyone should be here soon’
‘how did you go inviting the neighbours’
‘Ha! I knew they’d probably turn me down since they don’t know us that well but I wasn’t prepared for some of the excuses I got, one saying they were making a baked Alaska and couldn’t possibly tear themselves away and another, get this, said their psychic advised them not to leave the house today’
‘serious?’
‘pretty lame ay, well no skin off my ass…oh Em and Dave have just turned up’



‘Em! Dave! I’m so glad you could make it, where’s Keira?’
‘She’s with the nanny, we didn’t want to bring her to a party where’s there will be drinking’
‘good, so we all built a bonfire today and bought boxes of fireworks, this is going to be so cool, hey look Liam and Brian are here oh and there’s April and Toby…help yourselves to a drink, we have a bar set up’
‘Thanks Jane’
‘well come on, let’s get this party started!’

‘Bit early to be using the party poppers Seth don’t you think, there’s still 4 hours till midnight’



It’s new years eve and we all decided to get together and see in the new year. Jane’s running around like mad and I think she started drinking well before any of us got here.

‘What do you think is wrong with Brian? He looks worried about something’
‘I have no idea, maybe he feels uncomfortable’
‘why would he?’
‘well I don’t know do i! Maybe someone should go and talk to him’



‘He’ll be alright, Liam’s with him’
‘yeh but there’s nothing worse than being stuck with the boring one at a party, go talk to him, see if you can get him to have a few drinks, maybe that’ll loosen him up’
‘oh alright then, send me to do your dirty work why don’t you’
‘Hey Brian, come and have a drink’
‘er’
‘come on, it’s new years!’

Jane, obviously fed up with pouring drinks went straight for the bottle instead.



Like most parties begin, there was a lot of eating, drinking and chatter. Brian seemed to loosen up a bit and Seth and Liam gave us plenty of entertainment.

‘Seth! Liam! What is this little ritual you’re doing??’
‘It’s the bonfire dance’
‘The bonfire dance! Do you know how funny you both look’



She laughs at them now but it won’t be long before she joins them.


Once everyone had finished eating Rob wanted to start letting off the firecrackers. Most of us standing around eager to watch the first fireworks of the night. Rob was standing awfully close. ‘Be careful!’ Someone yelled.

But it was too late.



It was the funniest thing I’d ever seen. I’m amazed he wasn’t hurt with the state of him afterwards. He was blackened from head to toe, his hair was blasted back like he’d stuck his finger in a power socket and all his clothes had burnt off.



He looked shocked. I would be! Everyone was laughing and cheering. ‘Good one mate, what’s your next trick’
Jane and I were killing ourselves laughing.
