Our first stop was the Boardwalk, we were starving after our long flight as they didn’t give us anything to eat. The boardwalk had like a little kiosk type thing with 3 meals to choose from. Luau Ribs, Teryaki maki maki and Pineapple surprise…the surprise?.. there was
no pineapple!
Just looked like prawns and peach slices to me but Keira seemed to enjoy it. I was watching the cook while another tourist waited for his meal when I saw she tasted the food she was cooking and then put the spoon back in! I hope she didn’t do that with OUR food!! Eww.
We browsed the little shops and bought some trinkets before making our way down to the beach where we were all keen to go for a swim and I could take some pictures for our album.
We swam and played for hours before I noticed there was no-one else on the beach aside from a guy in a grass skirt doing a dance with fire. I wonder if that’s what the guy on the swing did for a living too? I wasn’t the least bit surprised to find my pyro husband asking for lessons….which didn’t turn out so well. It took forever for Dave to learn how to even swing the thing let alone do it while it was alight…the teacher becoming increasingly frustrated.
They gave up about 3 attempts later.
It was dark before we knew it and we were just heading toward the showers when it started to rain. Our first day on the island and it rains! Just my luck for it to rain on my first holiday in years.
I looked around to see the fire dancer had bolted leaving his stereo on the sand I doubted that would work again. Then as I waited for Keira to come out of the showers it began to hail! Wonderful!
I got caught in it too and damn that stuff hurts!
The first time i've ever known it to hail in Simcity and it happens on holiday.

Coming back to the bungalow who should be on the swing but the Hawaiian guy
I only hoped he hadn’t been swinging the whole day..if so he really needs to get a life.
