A typical day in the Valentine household

After some thought I’ve decided to quit working with Dana at her home and do a bit of freelance in my own home choosing my own hours so I can focus more on my family. Keira will be starting uni in a year and I want to be available for her as much as possible considering she will be so far away from home.

Speaking of family time, it’s been a while since we all went out together as a family. I heard there’s a new bowling alley opened up nearby and I wouldn’t mind paying the place a visit.

Mailman’s here.
Goddamn bills. It’s all he ever brings me. $600!! Bloody hell! What do they expect? I can just pull money out of my ass?
Maybe I shouldn’t be in such a hurry to reduce my working hours!

Better tend to this garden, looks like it’s in dire need of some TLC.
We have cucumbers and beans ready for harvesting, actually I might sell the beans…no-one eats them.
$115! For the produce from a single plant. You little beauty! No wonder Dave spends so much time out here.

The strawberry plant is thriving. I can’t wait to see how much we’ll get for that once it’s ready!

Keira brought a friend home today. Surprise surprise!
Hehe, makeover time!

It’s always a buzz giving people a new look. I’d do it for free.

The first thing Keira does after getting home is turns on the stereo and does the smustle. There she is dancing away in the loungeroom while her friend looks past her at the television. Completely oblivious.
Er i don't think she's interested Keira.

An hour and a half later Brandon is home. He wants to smustle too but there’s homework to be completed. It’s amazing how much they’re given.

Halfway through he spots a boy about his age walking toward the house. He has sunnies on. I can just hear Dave saying 'Dude! The snow to bright for ya?'

So now we have a house full, which is nothing unusual.

The house is buzzing with noise. Everything is on. TV, stereo, kids dancing and the dog barking at the womrat.

Brandon tries to do the smustle but he gets confused and forgets which direction he’s meant to be turning.

Once the kids friends have gone home Brandon returns to his homework and Keira teaches Pippin to play dead.
I don’t know if she really expects the dog to clutch at his throat and pretend to struggle for breath but it's funny nonetheless.

Pippin doesn’t understand what’s going on. Keira curls up in a ball and pretends she’s dead. Pippin sniffs her as if to say ‘are you alright?. This looks like it will be a long process.

Brandon has gone to bed early. All that homework they give him tires him out easily. I don’t understand why the younger ones have longer school days yet the same amount of homework as a high school student?
Their poor little brains can’t handle it.

We’re having a late dinner, Keira prepared it. Bass with squash. Quite impressive for a 16 year old.

I’ve taken the opportunity to quiz her on what scholarship she wants to apply for, for university. So far she’s shown no interest in uni whatsoever.

She says she’s unsure and right now she just wants to focus on getting an A+ report card-which they get daily.

With dinner finished and dishes done, Dave heads off to talk to his plants. Only this time I don’t mind so much.
