The Ottomas

We have new neighbours. Heaps of them. When I saw them moving in I thought there was about 20 of them but after a recount I realized there were 6.

There’s the mother Samantha who’s pregnant with her 4th child. Her husband Peter who looks like a member of the Village People.

Their 3 kids David, Sharla and Tommy. And last but not least. Granny Dora…..who I bet was a real beauty in her day *cough* I think this old dear must have fallen out of the ugly tree and hit every branch on the way down.
Oh i am so shallow.

Happy people they appear to be upon meeting them for the first time. Granny playing punch you, punch me with the teen boy, Daddy dancing with daughter and happily pregnant mum holding the baby.

Dave and I didn’t know if we should interrupt this little Brady Bunch but Samantha waddled over with her husband to greet us.
We hit it off quite well, asking them how they liked the neighbourhood so far, what brought them here and so on.

Samantha asked me what I did for a living and I told her I was a very casual stylist. This excited her to no end. ‘You must make us over’ she said. ‘I’ve had this same hairstyle for years now and lord knows the rest of the family could do with a helping hand’
I couldn’t agree more.

She continued that her sister was a hairdresser but they lived far away from eachother and with the kids they just never had the time. While she was talking to me her husband Peter’s arms kept flying in front of my face.
‘Er, what is he doing?’ I asked when his hand came flying past once again narrowly missing by nose by a millimeter.
‘oh never mind him, he just becomes animated when we have company.’ She replied.

I’d hate to see him at a dinner party if this is what he’s like when 2 neighbours stop by.

‘Well, come inside. It’s very bare right now as we’re yet to finish unpacking everything but hopefully it will all be finished by tomorrow…but at least there’s plenty of room for you to start on our makeovers. Shall we start with me?’
‘ah sure’

Do I have a choice in the matter??

As we walked inside the house, Granny and David had become involved in a pillow fight. Now there’s something you don’t see everyday.

Very, very Brady.
