Description:
For sims that are sick of living in the suburbs, Backdoor Lane provides an alternative: a couple of small town lots with a more urban look and feel. They fit together like a jigsaw puzzle, creating a maze of backyard gardens and interconnected alleyways when placed in a tightly spaced neigbourhood. Most of them work as corner lots as well as facing the street, creating a very different impression depending on how you place them and what's on the lot next door.

Backdoor Lane 09
are two row houses with access from the alley in the back, and a separate "garden house". The row houses were built a long time ago and have been slightly customised since (they're not exactly identical anymore); the garden house was probably added later on -- presumably when the the outhouse was torn down, because a) it already has proper indoor bathrooms, and b) it's really really small (the footprint isn't much more than what's needed for an outhouse or shed).

House 1 (left row house (seen from the street)):
1 x double bedroom
1 x upstairs hallway (livingroom)
1 x kitchen
1 x dining/living room
1 x toilet
1 x basement: one room and one bathroom (empty)

NO proper bathroom, except if you use the one that's provided in the basement (outside access only) or ditch the upstairs hallway and turn that into a bathroom.

House 2 (right row house):
1 x double bedroom
1 x upstairs hallway
1 x kitchen/dining/living room
1 x bathroom (tiny, only good for shower + toilet)
1 x basement: tiny hallway, one room, one bathroom (empty). Outside access only, as with the other one.

House 3 (garden house):
1 x double bedroom
1 x kitchen/dining/living room
2 x bathroom

The row houses both have basements with access from the alley, no screenshots included as I ran into the maximum picture limit again, but the entrance is right underneath the main entrance and they're quite livable, each with a bathroom (empty) and lots of sunlight.

House 1 and the garden house are fully furnished, including alarms and such, house 2 is empty. In- and outside lights provided, two cars (included) can park in the backyard.

If you don't want to play 3 families at once, it's no problem btw to just lock two of the houses (the built-in ofb access management thingy works fine for that) and only use one of the houses. Or if you're really daring, lock everything except one basement and cram your sim in there. Quite surprisingly, even with no hacks at all, my sims do *not* seem to bitch and whine about their neighbor's piano anymore since I installed OfB.

Thank you:
This collection (frillen) as well as this one (loba) and that one (windkeeper), the mini lots by Andi8104 and the ones based thereupon (MaryLou) have been very useful in making the Backdoor Lane neighbourhood. Thanks for making them available.

Please don't PM me with neighbourhood terrain requests (look in the Neighbourhoods section instead), downloading issues (I can't help you -- look in Site Issues, Q-XPress forums etc), or Build Mode questions (general questions go here, lot specific questions in the d/l thread). Thanks.
