If Mrs. Crumplebottom had founded a school, this is how I would imagine it: an old-fashioned, stark building with no computers (no evil games and the "internets" to corrupt young minds), no swimming pool (swimsuits are indecent) -- just the 3 R's and lots of discipline. The only reason there's an auditorium is to conduct lectures on discipline and behavior and to hold classical music recitals. The library contains only books approved by Mrs. Crumplebottom herself, so there are empty spaces on the shelves with a very limited selection.

This would make a good boarding school. The upstairs bedrooms are for for 2 adult teachers (1 male, 1 female), 3 male children/teens, 3 female children/teens. The one thing I forgot are showers. There is enough room in the basement for showers in the bathrooms (remove the urinal in the boys' bathroom). Half the basement is empty space, so locker rooms and a weight room might be nice there. I left 2 of the 4 classrooms empty intentionally so that you can add what you want in there -- more regular classrooms, a cooking classroom, art class (although I doubt Mrs. Crumplebottom approves of art ), science lab, etc.

If you read nothing else, for the love of all that is holy, please read this:
This is lot is a house. I can do nothing to make it work like a school for you because the game just doesn't see it as a school. Even if you change it to a community lot, it will still not be a school. This is not my fault - blame Maxis/EA. If you want to play this lot as a school, leave it as a residential lot and use Inge's hacks from Simlogical here:

There is also a downloadable tutorial on Inge's forum with instructions on running a school here:

P.S. I am sorry, but I'm not Inge, and I don't offer support on running a school. Please politely ask questions at the forums on Simlogical for support on using her awesome school hacks.
