Hi there! This is a tribute to all you Zelda fans with the ultimate addition to your SC4 terrain lists - The wonderful land of Hyrule!

MAIN DETAILS

Decorated Version of Hyrule

Bare Map Only, Version of Hyrule

This custom terrain is a representative reconstruction of Hyrule Field from "The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time". Featuring all the regions of OoT, this terrain should be perfect for recreating Hyrule your own way! With enough road space to build everything from Hyrule Castle all the way to the camp at Gerudo Valley, you can design and build almost any of the locations featured in OoT.

From looking at both images, you may notice however certain differences in my map of Hyrule and the original Zelda Hyrule game such as:
- Hyrule Field has been reduced in size since the only structure there is Lon Lon Ranch
- Kokiri Forest is more south to allow enough room for Zora's Domain. As a consequence of the cramming, The Great Deku Tree's location is north of Kokiri Forest, rather than East.
-To fit in Gerudo Valley and the Desert Colossus, I've re-orientated the entire Western Desert to stretch North from it's entry from Hyrule field rather than stretching to the west as in "LoZ:OoT".

Hopefully though, these alterations won't get in the way of your game experience... I think having all the locations available is much more valuble than having a more accurate terrain.

RECOMMENDED MODS:

As you can see, some of the areas of Hyrule are on the edge of the map, so utilizing the entire map is crucial for best game play results. This can be achieved using a camera hack/mod such as this camera hack by snappledude21 which extends the limits of where you can see on your map!

Also, to get the terrain effects the way I have, I highly recommend you get this neighbourhood objects hack by Saramkirk which will allow you to place objects anywhere and not have that 'cannot place object' message appear!

EDITING MY MAP:
Anyone wanting to is more than welcome to edit the map I created to their liking! If however you want to re-submit it with your alterations, please give credit to me for the main design aspect of the terrain as around 6 hours went into making sure that every inch of the map was tweaked to be just right!

Having said that, I also want to mention that this file is version 0.9, not version 1, because I still have a few things I want to fix up on it. Being excited though, I just wanted to submit my progress so far!

For Ease, I am providing 2 versions of this download. One is the Map only, where as the other includes a region to Copy and Paste straight into your SimCity 4 directory, as well as providing you with a copy of the DEM File i made my self to use in quick terra-forming!

BUGS & ISSUES:
So far, I am aware that you should only load this as 'LUSH' or 'CONCRETE' terrain types. Using 'DIRT' or 'DESERT' terrain types may have graphical issues resulting in a patchy and poorly textured terrain.

Also, since I have all the expansion packs installed.. I do not know if there will be compatibility issues in terms of Expansion packs... however, I do not expect any since the map elements themselves are basic ie. - no bridges etc..

Overall placement of locations may also be an 'issue' for some.. but I assume most people would be thrilled with this terrain and not be to upset by the in-accuracies of the over-all layout.

Neighborhood decorations can be placed anywhere as I mentioned above are both mods that you should use with this map.

Numenor's Maxis "Lost & Found" #9: Waterfall & River (neighborhood effect) and Lethe_s's Medieval town wall work together well in terms of giving your terrain that 'Hyrule' feel to them, and its worth noting that you may also be interested in Hexameter's
Horse Drawn Neighborhood Vehicles which also gives your hood that medieval feel!
