Updated 27th June 05:
Thanks to Jwoods who has reduced the polygon count for these blinds:
Old ploygon count: over 10,000 (sorry!!)
New Polygon count : 2919 (still quite high...but MUCH better than before - thanks JWoods!!)
My apolgies to the 6758  people who have downloaded the very high polygon ones...I made these back in the days before we knew about ploygon limits!
Filenames and GUID's have been kept the same so they will simply overwite your previous downloads and use and recolours you may already have. There is no need to reinstall the the recolours...only the 'master files'
If you have not downloaded these before, just place all the files in your downloads folder.
***FIXED*** 2nd March 2005***
Would you please (re)test these new FULL length vertical Blinds for me please?
These have been (re-)made with SimPE v.22 so are 'EP2' format (more stable) and fully recolourable.
The zip file contains ALL the files you NEED. Put them ALL in your downloads folder. If you don't want any of the recolours, just delete them whilst in buy mode in the catalogue by putting them in the dustbin... :argh: [DONT DELETE THE WHITE ONES...they are the 'master' file. If you do...they will ALL disappear!]
Recolours: Use the "bobl_longverticalblinds_270205.package" ... not the diagonal one.
***However, you will need THIS packages AND the diagonal package [bobl_longverticalblinds_diag270205.package] together with your recolour package to use in the game. ****
[This is because objects that can be placed on diagonal walls need TWO 'master' files (one for straight walls and one for diagonal walls) in order to work. Recolours however, 'lend' their new colours to these packages, so you only need to make ONE file (from the 'bobl_longverticalblinds270205.package'). ]
Now, before anyone (else) asks... about posting recolours. I'm NOT being precious about my designs, but please, have the courtesy to ASK me before you POST any recolours, (either here or anywhere else).
Firstly, ALL my objects are BETA objects, and (once again) should NOT be posted to other websites without a disclaimer.
I think it is wrong and unfair to allow people to download files to their game which are NOT certified, and therefore *could* cause problems with their game without telling them so clearly BEFORE they download.
Many websites dont say this... and I think it's not only wrong, but down right irresponsible.
I will NOT give permission to any website that requires a subscription or payment of any kind to make a download of this or ANY of my objects. Please, if you see one of my things out there, let me know. I make these objects for you guys, because you are kind enough to risk your game and test them for me. They are your reward for helping me to learn.
I make these objects for people to ENJOY, not for other people to profit from. I do not wish to make any cash from them, especially as many of them are not perfect packages!!
These things take a LOT of time (my brain hurts! ...often) ... so all I ask is a little courtesy.
If yours is a 'free' website I'm almost certain to say 'yes' ...unless all you did was a lousy 'colourise' the entire texture file. Please, when recolouring...I have clearly marked which areas are which...please dont spoil the design by having everything all the same colour....it's just boring!!. Make the stick, beads and rail different shades of your base colour/texture ... or choose a single colour from your pattern/texture or even use a different 'complimentary' colour...and please...leave the brackets silver or white...I've never seen them any other colour.... Anyway, have fun ... but remember to ASK before you POST recolours.
...phew! ...
thanks!! :howdy:
Anyhow, these new blinds should keep your Sims happy from prying eyes...
Please let me know if you have any other problems with them....
Thanks for testing
Bob
p.s. I wasn't going to bother making these, but ilikefish's comment on my Straight Curtains post was so nice...how could I refuse... enjoy them ilikefish! :howdy:
**************UPDATE 2ND MARCH******
The previous download here was flawed. Nothing that would harm your game, but there were problems with colours reverting back to the Maxis originals, and long blinds turning into SHORT blinds (if you had both sets installed). Thanks to Numenor (the Great) these have been fixed. Without his help I would have given up on these blinds (and my curtains) a long time ago. This guy spends so much time helping us that I think you owe HIM the courtesy of asking HIS permission as well as mine if you want to post recolours. Anyway, thanks Numenor....your the master!
Finally, a big thanks to didi_sim for her post. She brought the problem to my attention and is indeed a 'true tester'

This is a new mesh, and means that it's a brand new self contained object that usually does not require a specific Pack (although this is possible depending on the type). It may have Recolours hosted on MTS - check below for more information.
MTS has all free content, all the time. Donate to help keep it running.
