A House with Stunning Skylights That Your Neighbors Envy

This is a request, a friend of mine wanted a house with 5 bedrooms and 4 baths on a 2x2 lot for one of his sims families. At first I thought are you kidding me? But I went ahead with the project anyway, the house turned out quite nice, so I ended up using it in my neighborhood too. I have an active sims family living in an exact copy of the same house for at least 30 sim days, everything is working properly.

Since I don’t play Seasons, building a house with a playable attic that is weather proof requires some thinking, and I think I have succeeded at it. I would like to thank Ed and Julien for re-confirming the attic of this house is absolutely weather proof and poses no hazard to sims. How did they test it? They installed this house to their games with Seasons and moved a sims family into the house, played through the entire winter with snow storms, had their sims basically lived in the attic for several days, watched their body temperature (did not shift even a bit, remained solid green all the time), watched the snow falling on the roof, and watched the computer screen for any warning dialog from maxis' game tips about weather issues (none appeared), and their sims did not make any complaint about having weather issues..

What EPs do I play? I play all except Seasons. What EPs don't Ed and Julien play? They don't play University, OFB, Pets, and BV. What do we have in common? AL and FT. My guess is that the AL and its patch are crucial for CFE windows weather proof. Maybe there are other reasons as well.

Note: The zip file I give you here is a clean original, never had any sims before, you will have to move your own sims in to play it.

UPDATE: April 19, 2013
Thanks for Ed and Julien for letting me play their families on their computers, I have continued their tests, carried out the test all the way for an entire sim year, covering all four seasons, spring, summer, autumn, and winter, actually 2 winters, the attic is livable, functional, and poses absolutely NO hazard to any sim ages, including babies, toddlers, teens, adults, and elders.

Thanks for viewing, enjoy, and happy simming.
