Update (V2)!! (02/11/2024)
Ever wanted to play Bitville in TS2, but with its original lore from the Sims Life Stories? Well, now you can! We've updated the recreated neighborhood that me made years ago and uploaded new and refreshed versions of Bitville.

In these versions, you'd be greeted with a freshly "unlocked" free-play neighborhood just like in Sims Life Stories, except for the part that it was technically never "locked" in story mode, but it'd at least feel like you've just finished the story as you open the neighborhood. We've also updated the lots to make them look more accurate to the originals using a Uni+NL+OFB anygame, as well as making the restaurants, cafes, the bowling alley and all functional for the main hood version.

In Sims Life Stories, right before the end of Vincent's Story, the main character Naomi gets hit by Vincent's very own satellite and Vincent pleads with the Grim Reaper. However, Grim would only return Naomi if Vincent is willing to give up his fortune for her. So you get to choose the outcome of the story with these two options:

  • Option A: Vincent values money over love - Naomi dies, Vincent gets to keep his fortune, mansion, job and receives a statue of Naomi (which is basically also her grave)
  • Option B: Vincent values love over money - Naomi survives, but Vincent loses his fortune, mansion and job. He would then live together with Naomi with almost no money to start off of.

We recreated both scenarios, so you can download either neighborhood, based on your preferred ending. (In TS2, you could technically also resurrect Naomi now and let Vincent keep his fortune, but that's up to you then, lol.)

The old versions are still available for upload, in case you'd want to play them without the lore from Sims Life Stories. Updated versions of the other Sims Stories recreated neighborhoods are in the works, so stay tuned for them! As always, happy simming!

Here we have...
Bitville (aka Vincent's Story)
It's a 'The Sims Life Stories' neighborhood recreated for TS2; uploaded for the current monthly theme "All things retail".

(Neighborhood Description)

Despite being the wealthy CEO of Jigantor Computing Networks, Vincent Moore has never been lucky in love. While on a business trip to Sim City, Vincent has overseen the finish of JCN’s biggest project to date: The SimSat 9000 Communications Satellite. The launch was flawless, the hands have been shaken and the bonuses are in the mail. Now Vincent eagerly returns to his modest mansion in Bitville to see if he can find his one and only!

Install Instructions
For The Primary Hood Version:
1. Put the folder LSV1 into your Documents\EA Games\The Sims 2\Neighborhoods
2. If you only have the Base Game installed, you have to copy the contents of the Storytelling folder into your Documents\EA Games\The Sims 2\Storytelling folder in order for it to function properly. Later EPs do not have this requirement.

For The Subhood Version:
1. Put the folder BLSV into your Program Files\EA GAMES\The Sims 2 Open For Business\TSData\Res\NeighborhoodTemplate
Note: If you have The Sims 2 Ultimate Collection, put it here instead: Program Files\Origin Games\The Sims 2 Ultimate Collection\Best of Business\EP3\TSData\Res\NeighborhoodTemplate

In order to use the subhood template, please take note of the following:
-You need Mootilda's mods to fix the subhood selections, available here.
-To use Mootilda's mods, you will need Pets or a later EP/SP installed.
However, if you don't have Pets or a later EP/SP installed, you can temporarily remove Bluewater Village (B001) from the NeighborhoodTemplate folder and move this subhood in there. It will still be referred as Bluewater Village in the game. But the game will add Bitville to your neighborhood. Restore B001 after adding the subhood and you're done.

Further Information:

There aren't any townies or any NPC. So, you have to generate them yourself if you really want them.
You don't need to install a camera mod for this neighborhood. You will see all of the lots in a vanilla game.

All of the lots have been compressed with Mootilda's Lot Compressor.
Bitville is base game compatible and doesn't have any CC in it. However, the shopping district/suburb subhood requires Open For Business.

This is a ground up recreation of Vincent's Story from Life Stories game using Numenor's AnyGameStarter and Mootilda's HoodReplace to create the neighborhood with no Maxis content and to get the original look of the neighborhood with its original roads, neighborhood terrain, trees and decorations.

All of the Bitville lots have been recreated by marka93 and all of the playable sims of Bitville have been cloned, fixed and recreated (using fixed clones) by Jawusa.
The sims' descriptions have been rewritten by Peni Griffin because EA's descriptions were related to the story in LS. Because there's no story to follow anymore, the descriptions didn't make any sense but thanks to Peni Griffin, the descriptions are useful again. Peni Griffin has incredibly good writing skills, so you won't be disappointed!

There are 11 families in total. Each family consists of one sim. We recommend that you hook them all up - this will make everything easier and you will only have 7 families in total then.
Bitville has 29 lots; 6 of them are community lots, the other lots are all residential lots. There are no vacant lots in the neighborhood.
Look in the comments for this neighborhood to read more about the individual families and lots.

marka93 has tried to rebuild each house as close as possible to the original using the base game only. Because The Sims Life Stories is a mixture between Uni, NL and OFB, many of the Bitville lots had half walls and certain EP features (e.g. restaurants).

Therefore, many of the lots, that had half walls before, don't have any because half walls are not available in the base game.
Both of the subhood versions have half walls and some of the EP features, though. Look in the comments for this neighborhood to see what's missing and needs to be added.

We recommend adding Bitville as a subhood to Four Corners or vice versa.
Then you will have both of the LS neighborhoods, merged into one neighborhood.

As always, stay tuned for more neighborhoods to come!

Additional Credits:
Numenor for his AnyGameStarter which we used to make this neighborhood base game compatible and empty.
Mootilda for her Lot Compressor which we used to compress all of the lots in the neighborhood and for her LotAdjuster which we used on some lots as well as for her helpful HoodChecker (to see whether there are any problems or not) and for Hood Replace which we used to copy the neighborhood terrain with its roads, trees, decorations from LS into this neighborhood.
Peni Griffin for rewriting the sims' descriptions.
Compressjpeg.com for compressing the size of the required images for the download page.
