The Birchwood Estate: A CC-Free Plantsim Residence

Greetings simmers!

The Birchwood Estate is a CC-free luxury home designed specifically for plantsims; although, as a courtesy to their guests and/or mammalian family members, I have also included the usual necessities such as toilets and a refrigerator. A copy of this lot has been playtested for functionality. The house gives the impression of being on foundation, but is simply built on raised terrain (in order to easily accommodate the indoor pool and attached greenhouse).



Perhaps the most striking feature of the Birchwood Estate is the grand staircase. Upon walking in the front door, sims are greeted by warm woods and growing greens, a unique topiary fountain, and an elegant chandelier. If they proceed to either side of the staircase, they will find the ladders allowing them to take a dip in the pool. There is also a wardrobe and phone near the front door for their convenience.



To the right is the family room, where your plantsims will find a half-bath (for their guests, mostly), a computer desk, a radio, a chess set, and a sitting area with a bookshelf and piano. There are two sunlamps in this room to keep your plantsims happy. This room also has a sliding glass door exiting to the back porch.





On the left side of the house are the kitchen, dining room, and greenhouse. Although plantsims have no need to eat, they will easily be able to play good hostess out of this fully stocked kitchen. The dining room is actually part of the greenhouse, making it an accommodating place for plantsims to sit around and chat with their company while enjoying the sunshine. The water sprinkler in the greenhouse is placed so that it covers all the garden plots, plus it will hit the garden chairs when its running, which raises your plantsims water need if they happen to be lounging there at the time. The kitchen and greenhouse both have sunlamps. The garbage can and compost bin are just outside the greenhouse, on the back porch.



Upstairs on the second floor is where you will find the master bedroom and the nursery. The nursery is fully equipped for a normal baby, but also has a sunlamp because we all know its going to be a plant baby. Like the nursery, the master bedroom is fully furnished for a normal sim, but also contains a sunlamp. The master bedroom has a skylight over half the room (a greenhouse roof, technically), although sadly plantsims do not actually gain sunshine from this. The master bathroom is somewhat small, but fully functional. The master bedroom also has a private attached balcony with an easel, should they feel the need to paint.
