Welcome to my new upload. It's the Alford Palace. The palace is loosely based on Catherine Palace, in St. Petersburg, Russia. This build has been the official residence for one of my major families in my Kingdom History Legacy series that I have been playing for like months now. The Alford family, had been the official residents of this palace until the forced abdication of the last king of Newcrest. So much events have taken place in this blue and white palace.

The Alford Palace

Layout:

The building is a three storey palace with an underground basement. The first floor consists of "public" areas, where the Newcretian court could wander around, while the second floor consists of the Royal Bedchamber, the family room and the galerie de royale. The third floor is where most of the bedrooms are located. The third floor was divided into two sections the east and the west section but over the time, the east and west divide became unheard of due to the expansion of the personal space by the royal members of the family.

History of the Palace: King Peter of Newcrest have built this palace in 1701 to rival Windenburg's Chateau de Versailles being built as the new residence for its new king. However, Peter wasn't able to live in his ambitious dream as he died before the completion of this palace. His young son and heir to the throne, James I would become the first Newcretian king to live in this palace.

Built with Rococo architecture, the Alford Palace would witness the history of Newcrest as a kingdom, from the Coronation of Kings to the terrifying Civil Wars.5 generations from the House of Alford family have lived here, with the last resident being King Henry and his family, before he was forced to abdicate and held as captive with his whole family inside their beloved palace for months.

The House of Alford
The House of Alford came in to the throne starting with Francis the Great in 1615. But it wasn't until 1701 when the Alfords start to live in the newly built palace with James and his mother, Queen Helena de Arriaga being the first to do so. James was a tough king. Discipline is a must for him. His strictness didn't only affect his subjects but his children as well. Having 5 sons (one a pair of twins) and two daughters made him enjoy his disciplinarian ways. Their bedroom on the third floor were painted plain white, in contrary to what Peter envisioned of having a rococo palace. They were only allowed to sleep the East wing of the third floor.

The palace didn't change that much when Edward came to the throne, except that he repainted the throne room, from red to having white wooden panelling, typical of that to Georgian interior panelling of the 1700s.

When George came in to the throne in the early 1800s, he expanded the basement floor, originally a floor for the servants. He actually wanted the basement to turn into an academic research area due to the enlightenment trend of the day. However, only the library materialized.

When Charles came in to the throne in 1847, the Palace saw numerous improvements and developments, starting from the addition of the swimming pool, the Alford Hall and a wine cellar, all to be found in the basement. The third floor of the palace also had improvements, from the plain white wooden panelling, the bedrooms were now painted and decorated in various colors. His triplet daughters helped to influence the style of their respective bedrooms.

However, his reign also saw disastrous events that took place in the palace. The Palace saw the "Great Palace Fire" in the early morning of 1861, where in the fire engulfed the whole of the ground floor of the palace, the rest of Charles' family escaped and survived except with their 4th daughter, Princess Georgina who just turned into teenhood a day before. It was actually intentional and it was the start of the 5 year Civil War, which forced Charles, his wife Princess Elianna to grow a garden infront of their home to provide food. Electricity was cut for five years as well. Charles died during the war due to extreme exhaustion and hunger. Elianna took the job as the regent since his son Henry was too young to rule. During her short term as regent, Elianna won and ended the Civil War. After the war, fences and gates were constructed in front of the Palace to avoid further bombings that led to her daughter's death, a balcony was also constructed in above the patio of the front entrance.

When Henry came into the throne in 1896, his time saw the construction of the Movie theater in 1910 so that his teenaged children could watch the latest movies of the time. It would be the last change or improvement in the palace. In 1914, the palace was turned into a hospital for soldiers of World War I, and in 1917, it became a prison for King Henry, his wife, Queen Georgiana, his children, Louis, Isabella, Violet, Margaret and Elizabeth as they were held captives under house arrest by the rebel groups who forced Henry to abdicate. In November 1917, it would be the last day they would ever see Alford Palace again as they were forced to move to another location, in an island in Windenburg.
