Black Market Bargains

Take advantage of Greasemonkey's black market contacts from around the world and own a copy of some of humanity's finest works of art. Impress your friends, your boss, and potential mates! Each piece is a faithful recreation of the original, discernible only to the most well-trained eye. Your friends will gasp at the Whistler in your living room and you'll reap the rewards, but they don't have to know it was done by a monk in Tibet.

The first bargain, from the farthest reaches of the globe, is A Sunday on La Grande Jatte by Georges Seurat. Own a copy of his largest, and perhaps most recognizable, work for a fraction of the original. This painting comes with your choice of two quality frames to fit any decor.

*A brief description of the work, in-game*
Perhaps Georges Seurat's best known painting, it was certainly his largest painting measuring in at 207.5 x 308.1 centimeters. The painting depicted people relaxing in a suburban park on an island in the Seine River called La Grande Jatte. Seurat began this work in 1884 and worked on it for many years in several campaigns. In 1889 he made the final change, adding the recognizable border of red, orange, and blue dots as a visual transition between the main portion of his painting and the white frame.

Seurat's highly systematic painting technique of tightly grouping together dots of paint became known as Pointillism. This technique distinguished his work amongst the Impressionists who favored a more intuitive approach. Seurat embraced modern subjects like Monet and Renoir but he added artistic references to Egyptian and Greek art, as well as Italian Renaissance works. According to the Art Institute of Chicago, some critics regard this as more a commentary on the artificiality of Parisian society than a nod to art history.

This is a recolor of a base-game painting and, as such, is base game compatible and is low-poly. The painting has been distorted somewhat as it is very difficult to locate a painting in the catalog with the exact dimensions necessary to keep the scaling appropriate.
