Nurses are just as important as doctors in Sim City! I was inspired by this career from the Get To Work EP. I personally wanted my sim to be a pediatrician, so I thought why not make my own career and share it with others?
This particular career contains specific skills from the game packs: Spa Day, Parenthood, and Outdoor Retreat. But the career should work fine without it. If not, just let me know and I'll re-upload another file without it.
Mesmeric Nurse Career
With a growing need for health care professionals, nurses are currently in high demand. The current need for registered nurses is only expected to increase as Sim City's population grows and ages. With the modern advances in technology and recently added opportunities for specialization, the nursing profession can provide you with a wide variety of exciting options.
A career in nursing allows an individual to combine his or her abilities to problem solve, provide attention to details, give personal care, and develop medical knowledge, to create a holistic approach to caring for an individual. Nurses take into account both the physical and psychological state of the patient as well as social elements when treating each individual.
Nursing Student
Getting into nursing school is no small feat. You've worked hard, stayed up late, and basically imprinted tons of medical information into your mind. Now it's time to put what you know into action and maneuver your way up the Nurse Hierarchy.

It’s at this juncture (clinical nursing experience), where many nurses begin to develop advanced competencies, foster clinical judgment and cultivate specialty expertise.

Days: -TWTFS-

Wage: $15/H
Days: MTWTF--
Time: 9am - 3pm
Clinical Level III
Your time at the clinic is finally coming to an end and your body is excited. Those long hours and sleepless nights wreaked havoc on you, but you made it! Wage: $18/H
Days: MTWTF---
Time: 10am - 4pm
The career can either branch off into 4 paths or 6, whichever file you decide to download. If you get both, then a total of 10

Neonatal nurses work with infants who have been born with conditions that require substantial medical care. They typically work in neonatal intensive care units, or NICUs. Although neonatal means newborn, neonatal nurses may work with infants beyond what is generally considered the newborn phase. Most often it is until the baby first leaves the hospital. In rare instances, a neonatal nurse may work with infants up to age two.
Level I
Level I is Basic Newborn Care. You specialize in providing postnatal care for healthy newborn infants. It's your job to help maintain the stability of newborn infants at 35 to 37 weeks' gestation who are physiologically sound and help to stabilize infants who are born at less than 35 weeks' gestation and/or sick until they can be transferred to a healthcare facility that can provide an acceptable level of neonatal care.
Wage: $80/H
Days: -TW-FSS
Time: 10am - 6pm

Wage: $98/H
Days: MT-TFS-
Time: 8am - 4pm
Level III
Sub-specialty Newborn Care was in need of a very knowledgable Neonatal Nurse, and you were the one they contacted. Typically, level III NICUs offer patients access to a complete spectrum of pediatric sub-specialties, respiratory support systems, and advanced imaging technologies.
Wage: $110/H
Days: MTW-FS-
Time: 11am - 7pm
Level IV
You now work at the highest Level of Neonatal Care along with other specialists. You provide the utmost care for infants who are born as young as 22 to 24 weeks' gestational age and equip mechanical ventilation, including high-frequency ventilation, a wide range of advanced surgeries including "open-heart" surgeries needed to correct congenital heart defects, and ECMO or extracorporeal membrane oxygenation.
Wage: $120/H
Days: MT--FS-
Time: 8am - 6pm

In addition, because the patients are so tiny and even the smallest error can be life-threatening, precise attention to detail CANNOT be understated.

ER Nurse | Home Healthcare Nurse | Intensive Care Unit (ICU) Nurse | Labor and Delivery Nurse | Medical-Surgical Nurse | Perioperative Nurse
Track 1: ER Nurse
ER nurses treat patients coming through hospital emergency departments for a variety of reasons — trauma, injury, and acute-onset symptoms. They treat patients of all ages and background. Most patients are experiencing emergency, life-threatening situations, and ER nurses must be quick to recognize those acute problems and be able to resolve or stabilize them immediately upon arrival. From heart attack to stroke to gunshot wounds, motor vehicle accidents, or just fractured bones, ER nurses see it all. ER nurses learn to quickly triage patients based on immediate observation and acute assessment skills, then to treat symptoms in order of life-threatening priority. They may immediately start CPR to reverse cardiopulmonary arrest or start slamming blood products for a hemorrhaging patient or work to quickly discover underlying medical conditions that are less apparent.
Entry-Level ER Nurse
The emergency room nurse, or YOU to be specific, is responsible for accurately assessing then triaging patients in a thorough yet efficient manner. You must think quickly, make fast decisions, and multitask. You have the training, aptitude, and willingness to adapt to whatever the day happens to bring, as every day is different in the emergency room. You don't know exactly who is coming through the door and what may be wrong with them, so don't allow the emotions of patients in trauma affect your mindset.
Wage: $56/H
Days: M---FSS
Time: 3pm - 11pm
Advanced ER Nurse
You're a pro at this now. You perform all types of tasks - from icing a swollen ankle to performing CPR and treating victims of major trauma. The theme among these tasks is a thorough and insightful evaluation to determine the extent of injuries, and the development of an appropriate course of action to achieve stabilization, and balancing other patients' needs.
Wage: $70/H
Days: M-WT-S-
Time: 6am - 2pm
Head ER Nurse
You ensure that the Emergency Room maintains pre-set inventory standards for solutions, supplies, medicines, and equipment, and keeps track of narcotics. Additionally, you typically report to top management. You manage subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. You make sure that project milestones are met and adhere to approved budgets. You have full authority for personnel actions and extensive knowledge of department processes.
Wage: $115/H
Days: -TW-FS-
Time: 10am - 8pm
___________________________________________________________________________
Track 2: Home Healthcare Nurse
A home healthcare nurse works closely with patients within their own homes, or in a nursing home situation to bring patients that kind of care that they would have if they could care for themselves at home. This includes bathing and feeding patients, as well as providing other medical support such as massage, medication, and wound treatment. Home healthcare nurses work long hours and may spend most of their time in the home of a patient. While some work during the day, others will work only overnight with their patients in case there is trouble while they sleep. Other home healthcare nurses live with their patients and care for them until they are no longer needed.
Nurses' Aide
You work under the supervision of Home Healthcare Nurses to address the most fundamental elements of a patient’s care. You will feed, dress, bathe and groom patients, contributing enormously to their sense of normalcy and wellbeing. Sometimes you are given more medically oriented duties such as measuring and recording temperature, blood pressure, and other vital signs. You'll also assist with the administrative duties and record-keeping that accompany patient care.
Wage: $65/H
Days: -TWTF--
Time: 9am - 5pm
Primary Care Nurse
You are often the first medical professional that most patients come in contact with, even before their first scheduled appointments. You are in charge of manning the phones when you're not out at a patient's home, which will often entail scheduling appointments, recording some patient information, and addressing concerns. When patients first arrive at Oasis Springs Health Clinic, you are also usually responsible for extending a friendly greeting and checking them in.
Wage: $88/H
Days: MTWT---
Time: 10am - 6pm
Intermediate Home Healthcare Nurse
Assignments are coming in left and right, and you're constantly on the road visiting patients that are in need of your help. You can expect to tackle a wide variety of job duties, including duties like taking vital signs, helping patients with mobility issues, cleaning wounds, administering medication and drawing blood. Teaching also comes into play as a home health nurse, such as educating a patient recently diagnosed with diabetes or instructing a patient and their family about the signs of heart failure.
Wage: $110/H
Days: MT-TF--
Time: 12pm - 8pm
Advanced Home Healthcare Nurse
Being a Home Healthcare Nurse isn't all smiles and rainbows. You've come across stubborn patients, those who can't afford their medication, and others who simply just don't like you. But you're still keeping up that positive attitude of yours and it beats out the cons of the jobs. Home health nursing is the most fulfilling option for you. You love being able to see your patients accomplish their goals and become healthier. You enjoy seeing a wound heal, teach a client how to manage their own diabetes after working with you and caregivers, and help a family member learn how to give IV antibiotics to their loved one.
Wage: $175/H
Days: MTW--S-
Time: 12pm - 10pm

Days: MTW-FS-
Time: 9am - 5pm
Advanced Critical Care
You came to terms you often face a harsh reality. You will not be able to restore all your patients to good health and some may even die in your care. But you still find fulfillment in those that you have saved and made a drastic difference in their life. Keep a cool head and continue to save lives.

Labor and delivery nurses administer medications, including epidurals, and assist physicians or midwives with the actual delivery. Following the birth, their care extends to the newborn and mother’s needs. Labor and delivery nurses also help new mother-baby pairs with the baby’s first breastfeeding.
Bedside Nurse

Typical tasks may involve caring for a patient who is rapidly deteriorating and required a higher level of care as well as patients who are stable and being discharged home. A busy and often stressful hospital environment is common.
Entry-Level MSN
You are the frontline provider who has more facetime with patients than any other professional in the hospital while also planning care, listening to patients’ concerns, and answering loved ones’ questions.
