THIS CAREER IS BASE GAME COMPATIBLE
Tattooing is an age-old form of body modification that involves permanently embedding ink in skin to create designs or images. Tattoo artists are professionals who design and apply tattoos to all areas of customers' bodies with specialized needles. When dealing with customers, tact and patience may be required. Long periods of sitting are often a part of the job, as some designs take a considerable amount of time to create. Aspiring tattoo artists should possess great artistic ability and creativity.
Tattoo Artist Career
Despite once being considered as a social taboo, tattoo culture has gradually filtered into the mainstream in the last few years, with a dramatic increase in the number of people getting inked. Inevitably, as the demand has risen, so too has the supply, with high-street tattoo parlors and independent practitioners setting up a business at a rapid rate. So, if you’ve got a creative flair, a heap of artistic ability and a natural affinity towards people, it's time to tap into this career.
In order to become a great tattoo artist, you have to study under an experienced tattoo artist. Unfortunately, you haven't been granted that privilege just yet. For now, you're working the front desk and greeting customers as well running errands when needed. It doesn't hurt to pick up a few cups of coffee for your fellow colleagues either.
You've been advised to begin building your portfolio so you can increase your artistic skills and maybe snag a client who is impressed by your work. You're no longer nursing the desk but you have been tasked to laying out equipment, mixing ink, sterilizing the gear, and guess what? To finally tattoo on something! Not someone, but a someTHING. Your mentor is intrigued to see how well you can transfer your drawing skill from paper to an actual inanimate object.
Your tattooing practice is coming along quite nicely and you made a pretty good impression. Your hand is still quite shaky and that is a no-no in this career. Keep practicing and you might be able to finally tattoo a live person. But until then, also work on your fitness a little. Tattoo artists are known to work for long periods of time and uncomfortably contort their bodies to design that perfect tattoo. Do this to avoid ending your career before it even starts.
Beginner Tattoo Artist
FINALLY! You're able to tat on your first real client. The bad news? You're not paid for it. The downside to a beginner tattoo artist is to do a couple of tattoos free of charge. But hey, you're sending out those people to do some free advertising and you're increasing your skill at the same time. No worries, you'll be pocketing money for your work in no time.
Advanced Tattoo Artist
Word is getting around that you're an impressive tattoo artist. Folks are starting to line up outside the shop and the book log is getting overwhelmed with appointments requesting you. The phones are ringing off the hook and people are DMing your Simstagram for a price range. You're getting quite popular for your hard work.
Celebrity Tattoo Artist
Pictures of your tattoos on other bodies are being shared on every social media platform known to mankind. Thousands of likes, retweets, and shares as well as comments such as, "Where do I find this person? Their linework is amazing!" are found under each photo. You're in such high demand that people are waiting MONTHS just to book an appointment to get tatted by you. Amazing!
Legendary Tattoo Shop Owner
You've gone from being an employee to a legendary employer. Upcoming tattoo artists are inboxing you for advice, your tattoo crew enjoys working with you, and people are still lining up outside your shop for a chance to get a tattoo from you. You've come a long way and made an impressionable impact on your community. Congrats, and don't stop tattooing!
Teen Tattoo Artist Career
So, you want to be a tattoo artist? Since you're young, you won't be able to get the full range of the career BUT you are able to snag an apprenticeship. To be an amazing tattoo artist in the future, you must be patient, creative, and have the natural artistic ability to succeed in this career. Good luck to ya!
Apprenticeships aren't easy to get, so you're quite lucky. You're ecstatic to be able to finally tattoo on some skin buuut not today. Your unofficial title is the "coffee runner". You're tasked to get everyone's coffee from the next door coffee shop at the beginning of every shift. You might even be sent to get some supplies when the parlor is running low. Doing basic paperwork, keeping the shop clean, and being a friendly face at the front desk is a part of your daily duties.
Your tasks haven't changed but you need to begin working on your portfolio if you're serious about this thing. Work on some sketches, ask for some feedback and do outside research. The tattoo artist you're apprenticing under has finally decided to let you peek in on a few sessions to get a full grasp of what your future will consist of.
Moving on up, alright! You're still not allowed to tat on anyone's skin, though. Keep working on that portfolio to build your skill and your clientele while also securing your future job. You went from running errands and babysitting the front desk to laying out equipment, mixing ink, and sterilizing the gear. Once you're of age, you might finally get to tattoo on something.
I hope you enjoy this career that I worked extremely hard on. If you have any questions or problems, let me know! If you just wanna extend some support, I'll appreciate that too
