There can never be too much cheap and shabby stuff. So, here’s a little addition for your homeless/runaway/rags-to-riches challenge. It may or may not have come straight from a dumpster ;-)

The CrateMaster:
Description: A cheap folding board game on an even cheaper pile of crates. As cheap as it gets. Perfect for cheapskate-sims.
Price: 50 Simoleons
Style: Shabby
Fun: 3
Skill Logic
Off the Grid
8 swatches (yellow, pale brown, brown, dark brown, green, blue, lilac, and red)
Can be found in: activities -> chess, as well as in the study.
Tagged for Maker Space.
Polycount:
(9 geometry stages)
begin: 1099 vertices/ 592 polygons
state1: 1099 vertices/ 592 polygons
state2: 1027 vertices/ 572 polygons
state3: 919 vertices/ 522 polygons
state4: 757 vertices/ 448 polygons
state5: 703 vertices/ 424 polygons
state6: 685 vertices/ 416 polygons
soreLoser: 643 vertices/ 400 polygons
Default: 2769 vertices/ 1300 polygons
Requires the base game.
Issues: The lowest crate is a little too wide for the animation, so the tips of the sims’ feet get swallowed. You can see it in one of the pictures above. It’s a minor, purely cosmetic annoyance.

The Cratemaster's Throne:
Description: A chair, fit to seat a Lord or Lady's posterior. May or may not have been found in a dumpster.
Price: 30 Simoleons
Style: Shabby
8 (yellow, pale brown, brown, dark brown, green, blue, lilac, and red)
Can be found in: comfort -> chairs, as well as in the study or the dining room.
Tagged for Maker Space.
Requires the base game.
LOD0: 294 vertices/ 232 polygons
LOD1: 208 vertices / 149 polygons
LOD2: 134 vertices / 103 polygons
Issues: No issues. There used to be a deco slot inside the crate, but I’ve removed it since the chair’s animation kept glitching through the objects I placed there. If anyone knows how to solve this, let me know. I’d be happy to bring the deco slot back.

As this post’s title might have made you suspect, this is an ongoing project and there’s indeed more where it came from. I’m currently working on part 4. Part 2 is already freely available on my page. I’ll post it here in a week or so.
