Being a paramedic myself, nothing annoyed me more than seeing my chosen profession slandered in such a way in The Sims 2, with the EMT being the bottom of the rung, and with the paramedic profession a part time extra curricular activity whilst in nursing school...
I think not.
There are many paramedics out there who will never go on to be doctors because the pre-hospital arena is an evolving profession and in some countries including australia, has been recognised as being an acute care standard of equivillency to that of nursing, so in these countries, entering nusing from paramedicine is pretty much lateral entry.

Either way, enough bitching.

I've created this new career with paramedics in mind. This is the South Australian version although the final level 'Paramedic Practitioner' is still a few years away. I appreciate that some countries currently use paramedic practitioners but not in the envisaged way that is included in this career, where paramedic practitioners are independant clinicians.

I'm pretty sure this career is EP ready. If you have any problems. please tell me.

An interesting note about this career is that you do not need any friends to succeed. The downside is, initially, the pay is quite poor and you have to work a LOT of skills. In order to reach the highest level, you can expect to have maxed at least three skills so a lot of work has to be undertaken

The chance cards are quite vicious but more often than not the fail cards aren't overly bad. You'll lose the occasional skill point but that's about it. Although the concept of right and wrong isn't applicable, some cards have a 'better judgment' associated and hence the fail cards aren't as bad as the more risky alternative.

The thing to remember is that in pre-hospital care, patients die. Sometimes there's nothing you can do about it.

At this point, all levels are completed and all chance cards are done and have been proof read. English only at this point. Other languages still contain the original medicine career text.

I'm hoping to include a new uniform and custom icon with the final release. Also on the horizon is a college course, probably similar to the one I undertook and hence a uni version. But for now, enjoy... :howdy:
