I have it fixed now using sims2pack clean installer. Thanks to anyone that tried to help though! And thanks to Atavera for making this so we can all have our favorite instruments.

so... having Bon Voyage will prevent me from using custom instruments because it may have broken Atavera's hack?

WHAT'S NEW IN v.4.1:

• Full backward compatibility with Atavera's v.4.0: all the existing custom instruments will still work fine with this version.
• The "Rock Hammer" career guitar that comes with SSN no longer needs any separate hack: it can now be played in band simply installing this v.4.1. If you already downloaded and installed the "Fix for Rock Hammer guitar", you can now safely remove the file "Numenor_GlobalMod_SSN-Guitar-for-Atavera-Hack.package" from your Downloads.
• The Grand Piano that comes with BV can now be correctly played in band, without any additional hack.
• Tested and working with any game up to BV and Teen Style (UNI is always required!)
• Checked and updated the original post by Atavera (Post #1, above).

FreeTime changed a few of the BHAVs modded by this hack. Is it still compatible?

EDIT 2: I have a preliminary update to support non-custom synthesizers, the "play violin" want for non-custom violins and the "Zone" effects. Testing.

The hack unfortunately seems to break something in Freetime. When using the hack, sims don't seem to get enthusiasm in the music & dance hobby when using Maxis instruments.

I'm not surprised. I still couldn't check the code against Freetime, but Fat D's report mentions the BHAV "B 0x7F449F3B 0x2011 Interaction - Practice" which is the "core" of the playing activity. I'm quite sure this hack requires a huge rewriting, in order to make it compatible with Freetime.

Kind of bad to hear that it needs a "huge" rewriting. Hope it's not too huge though and we can soon have custom instruments again.

actually, I've only seen a few handlers for enthusiasm, "the zone" and the new instruments (violin and synth) added, but trying to apply this to the hack resulted in a loss of sound.

I will devote my first-born to whomever can fix this hack for Freetime.

I have Freetime, so this won't work?

I tried this with Freetime, and the guitars made sporadic sounds (at best). However, the JWoods keyboard worked fine.

I hope Numenor hasn't given up on it. This hack brings so many nice possibilities and of course the contrabass which will be perfect in my jazz lounge

Can some one plz explain to me how to install these mods with out using Q-Xpress cuz it doesnt work for me and im new to modding...

The only thing this thing seems to break in FreeTime is the guitar, drumkit and bass - except that they're not 'broken' they simply won't add music/dance points to your sims hobby

Is there an update for FT in the works for this mod? You have not replied to this thread since March...just curious. Thanks

when i install any guitar and go into my game and buy itmy game freezes but i still can change between shop, build , options and live pleasee help

Rubn1980: that happens usually when you don't have UNI, or anyway there is an incompatibility with your game. this hack, for instance, still it's not compatible with FT.

If you have University and you DON'T have Freetime, then this hack should work for you...
If you manage to create an error log (LINK), it would help.

maybe that's the problem can you tell?
