This is a new mesh, and means that it's a brand new self contained object that usually does not require a specific Expansion pack (although this is possible depending on the type). It may have Recolours hosted on MTS - check below the description for more information.
Picked Upload! This is a picked upload! It showcases some of the best talent and creativity available on MTS and in the community.
Since I was able to find out how to change MATDs I decided to give a long abandoned object a new try.

And here it is: The Stargate.

It resembles of course one of those seen in the tv-show, but it isn't a perfect copy, so don't complain about details. It was made as an outdoor-object, you maybe will not see the whole gate if you put this indoor.

The Stargate has a pie menu that enables you to operate it, meaning the sims will be able to activate and deactivate it. When activated you will see an animated eventhorizon. It has no further functions, but maybe I will expand it, when I have got a better grip on SimAntics.

The mesh and textures (including the anim) are by me. the object has 874 vertices and 1346 polys. The animation of the eventhorizon is somewhat minimal, since I was limited to 16 animframes, but the effect is rather cool nonetheless.

You find this object in the catalog under decoratives -> sculptures or outdoors.

IMPORTANT BUGFIX 061205: The first version overwrote the painting global BHAVs, so every painting had the stargates pie menu. I uploaded a new bugfixed version, please redownload and replace!

Have fun! :howdy:

Wooop :P

thank you from the bottom of my heart I am a very big Stargate fan and have always wandered if anyone would be able to create a gate that worked, and you have. I also have the other one that you made, which already had the event horizon working, but allowed you to teleport sims...will this conflict with this one or not?

*skips of a merry merry stargate fan*

I never before released any Stargate, so it wasn't from me. Rentechd over at variousimmers made one that had a teleport included by Inge Jones. This one here has a brand new GUID and so it should not overwrite anything.

happy simming,
Xanathon

Don't you think that "hating" a tv-show is somewhat childish? :disagree: :loco:

Xanathon: Very nice job... It is a shame that some can not avoid making stupid comments... Regardless of the TV show or movie(which I personally liked) you did a fine job...
