This is a new mesh, and means that it's a brand new self contained object that usually does not require a specific Expansion pack (although this is possible depending on the type). It may have Recolours hosted on MTS - check below the description for more information.
This is a featured upload! It showcases the best talent and creativity available on MTS and in the community.

In cooperation with MTS2, the "Dream Team" is proud to present to you,

The "GRAND TRIANON" Collection

09 sept 2008 - Updated the "Complete Collection" archive with the new cabinets published back in January.

20 mar 2008 - UPDATE: Fridge.
The Fridge now has the FreeTime options "Serve Platter..." and "Prepare for Contest". The updated fridge is included in the archive "GrandTrianon_Kitchen_Appliances.rar", attached to Post #8.

07 Jan 2008 - Updated: Cabinets
Fixed a cyclic reset occurring every 18 sim-hours.

06 Jan 2008 - Updated: Fridge.
Got rid of the annoying tooltip that appeared when clicking on the fridge).

23 DEC 2007 - HUGE UPDATE!
The long-awaited KITCHEN set is finally ready! Get it from Post #8!
And the is also a bunch of new WINDOWS in the Architecture set: see Post #6.

Attached to this post, you will find the following files:
  1. "GrandTrianon_CompleteCollection.rar" (UPD 23dec07): this is a big rar archive containing all the Grand Trianon objects, floors and wallpapers, organized in subfolders. The rar contains also the Floor Mirror (see below) and the TWO versions of the "Poster Desk & Hutch" (see Post #3 for details).

  2. "GrandTrianon_FloorMirror_(MUST-HAVE).rar" (UPD 23dec07): this archive contains the "Floor Mirror", that is the Repository of all the textures of the entire set. You MUST HAVE this file, otherwise the entire set will flash blue!
(Note: the Floor Mirror is already included in the big "Complete" RAR; but in case you don't want to download the entire set, the Floor Mirror can be downloaded separately).

  3. "CollectionPackages_(DO-NOT-PUT-IN-DOWNLOADS).rar" (UPD 23dec07): the archive contains the "Collections", that must be installed in (Documents)\EA Games\The Sims 2\Collections, in order to have all the GT objects organized in collections inside the Buy Mode catalog. Even if you don't download the entire set, you can always install all the "collections": the catalog will show only the installed objects.

If you want to download specific files or parts of the set, instead of the entire set in one big RAR, then you can find the various files in the following posts:

Mirrors have been in use since the middle ages but were made of polished metal. It wasn't until the 13th century that they were truly mirrors as we know them, glass with a metallic background. Mirrors have always been a signature of wealth and prestige since...

The original poster style Bed was introduced in the13th century and has been a symbol of wealth and prestige as well.

When we think of mirrors, our first thought is of the famous "Galerie des Glaces" (the Hall of Mirrors) which is located in the "Versailles Palace”.
The palace is not only the home of the "Grand Trianon" and the Hall of Mirrors but also a home to King Louis XIV and Marie Antoinette. It is here you can find one of the most exquisite "Poster Style" beds in the world.

With such inspiration, the “Dream Team” has created for you to enjoy, the "The Grand Trianon Collection" for the Sim's 2 game.

Please read about the Hidden Treasures of the Grand Trianon in the following post.

All objects contained in this collection are property of the "Dream Team". These objects should *never* be sold for money, nor put in “free rotation” of any pay site. Anyone can freely recolor them and use them in their lots though credits are needed, at least to the "Dream Team". This is in consideration that the lots can be downloaded free of charge. If a recolor is posted on external sites, a link should be provided to this thread (URL)
The tools used to make these objects are in "beta" stage so these objects are considered to beta as well. We have performed extensive testing and present objects we believe are safe for your game as well as resource friendly.

You must have the expansion or stuff packs listed below installed to use this custom content. Please see the post text for any exceptions.

This is a multi-part download:

You can either download the entire set, all packed in one big RAR, from this post; or you can download only your favourite sub-sets, available from the following posts:
IMPORTANT: if you don't get the entire collection, then you MUST download and install the file "GrandTrianon_FloorMirror_(MUST-HAVE).rar", or you will get flashing blue objects!

I have to update on my original post as i just put this in my game and loaded up a wonderful dorm lot i had built with tons of tiny cottages to be the dorm rooms and two community buildings, i had been dreading decorating these buildings because i needed to fit a lot of things in a small area (5x5 rooms) your set has allowed me to do this!!! Thank you again everyone!

Could be a result of too many people downloading at one time. Try again in a little bit- I had no trouble.

One question- I clean out my custom content on an almost regular basis either becuase I have found better items, or because I realized I don't use a particular item very often. (I doubt I will find better, but I might not use some of these items.) Sometimes, this causes me to get the dreaded "blue" items, because I will have accidentally deleted a file that others depend on to work. Are any of these items "Master" items? Is there anything I should be careful NOT to delete in the future? If I delete one of the mirror designs, for example, will all of the other mirrors go blue? Thanks!!!! I LOVE LOVE LOVE the work you guys put into these!!!!!!!!!!!! :-)

""Repository" is the Poster Floor Mirror (part of the Mirror Bedroom collection): you must keep it in your downloads folder, otherwise all the Grand Trianon objects will show a flashing blue texture."
That answers my question.... I read all the posts, but skipped the data sheet, because I was in too much of a hurry to D/L everything! LOL

Question still stands on Mirror designs, though. Is it okay to delete a specific mirror design, but not others? Or are all of the designs considered 'master files' by the floor mirror?

For anyone experiencing downloading problems:
Click on the "User Tool" link (on the top right of the screen), select "Edit Options"; on the option screen, go to the very bottom and check the last option, labeled " If you are having problems seeing thumbnail images or downloading, try checking this box".

Then, you have to clean the browser cache (IE users and Firefox users: see pictures), and lastly you have to close and restart the browser. (If you want to be sure at maximum, restart you computer).

I've tested the process above with my own Firefox browser: after checking the option in the MTS2 UserTool, the problem was not solved until I restarted the browser (I haven't restarted Windows).

To prevent flashing blue objects you need to install the FLOOR MIRROR

Silentthunder19: you can safely delete anything but the Floor Mirror (as you have correctly guessed).

You can delete any recolour pack with no harm (obviously, those recolours won't be available any more: the objects will revert to their default colour).

This applies to the glass etchings, too: you can safely delete them: the default textures for the glass, the wood, the metal and the fabric are all contained in the Floor Mirror.

Daysies: What's next? Mmmh... a bit of vacation, I hope; we have worked on this collection for months, as you know . Then, we are planning to expand the Grand Trianon to other rooms: living, kitchen... who knows?

to those having trouble downloading the files- all you have to do is rename the files to have a .rar suffix and they will work. a fast cut and paste job is all it takes. That's what I just did.

hope this helps.
