Your Chef and Maid Mods have been must haves in my games for a long time. I respect your choices but it will be painful to not have them anymore. I'm with 954 above... thanks very much, it was fun while it lasted!

Mr. Veiga: The EA Store Team took your idea and ran with it! Truly, I wonder if you were a large part of the inspiration behind their new Business As Usual Bistro with the NPC chef. Personally, I will always give first credit to you, but I am glad they made a version of your sweet mod official. I really doubt that chef is going to work the same way. It is commercial, waits tables, not serving in a house.

Sorry about the maid! My medieval world will not be the same without it.

They are bringing back the "open for business" features. If the Store Chef works as they are advertising, that is great because I can use some of their scripts or integrate some of their features to make this Chef mod better.

Great to have the Gardner back. Would you reconsider ur Maid Mod? It works better than either EA's Maid or butler combined.

Actually, rian90, it has been confirmed that the Store Chef can also work in houses as a personal chef for sims in their residential homes. The Premium Content oven just needs to exist somewhere on the lot, along with menus anywhere on the lot from which the sims order, then they hire the chef.

Still, I am sure that Mr. Veiga can improve upon this and use it to enhance his own fab mod. Looking forward to seeing that!

Great news although menus in a medieval world seem a bit odd. Unfortunately, we now have no live in maids. Hopefully someone else will pick up the challenge. Even if we could have a couple of butlers it might be okay but the game only allows one at a time.

Will you be updating this for 1.55? I tried the new venue from the store and the chef doesn't work out for a home lot. He just keeps cooking and sticking the food in his "pocket." Nobody can eat it and you can't tell him when or what to cook. It may be alright for a community lot but not for a residential.

Sarah79936, you have to buy also a menu and put it on the table, that is the only way to controll the cook. And also, you have to click on the stove an choose the meals you want him to cook. This way you can only make him coock pankakes... or something else.


Douglasveiga, I have a strange question, would you be able to make one, little tweak for this Store set? So the cook would work always?

I just extracted the tunning file, just edit what you want using s3pe.

You really are a hero! I've set work time to "15 hours", and I have changed "8am" to "6am". The only thing is, that I need to change work time in every stove to "6-21", even in new ones. But I can live with that :D

The new chef is cool but still can't hold a candle to yours. Your live-in chef and maid mods are the bomb!

Yeah! And I still hope, that you will think about updating "Live in Maid", that was my favourite mod! Now I have to use Bonehilda and other EA services... It is good, that we have the Gardner (Almost all my Sims use this service), But we need The Maid... please....

I wonder if there is a way to allow children to use the menu in the Store Chef..? I haven't seen anything like that in the scipt you have uploaded few posts up... I still wait for your chef he looks more natural, the cooking loks normal...

I don't know, but i think it's hardcoded on the Food Menu to restrict kids.

The Chef works, but dissapears after 3-4 days of working. I gues it's because NRaas Overwatch. The Chef can be hired again, so it's not the problem for me. It would be nice if he could cook all recipes, but he can not (the turkey, and I have mod for more recipes, some of them the chef can cook, other he can not).

which mod? do you mean some recipes are available (on the "ask to cook" interaction) but he can't cook?

If the recipe isn't available on the ask to cook interaction, it means that you don't have all the required appliances, ingredients or the recipe isn't cookable.


I guess the only way to make it stop disappearing is changing it to recurrent service.
