COMPATIBLE: BASEGAME PATCH v1.54 ~ v1.67

This mod adds a Chef Service in your game, so you can hire a Sim to cook your favorite recipe. You can "Ask to Cook" a specific Recipe or let the Chef choose a random one. He will always choose the recipe based on the ingredients available in your Fridge. If you don't have enough ingredients, he will charge you the missing ingredients. The Chef will automatically start cooking some recipes if there is a hungry Sim (Human ChildOrAbove) in your house.

If you have a Butler (from EP3) in your house, this mod will automatically delay the Butler's auto-cook functionality. So the Butler will clean the house, while the Chef will take care about the cooking tasks.

Features:
  • You can "Ask to Cook" a specific Recipe or let the Chef choose one for you;
  • He can cook all the recipes, except the specials (that gives life/reward boost);
  • He will automatically cook some recipes if there is a hungry Sim in your house (you can disable in the Configuration);
  • It's a Live in Service (like the Butler, but she/he will not interact autonomously with your family.); (not anymore, after update v1.5)
  • If you have University EP, he will automatically improve Meals by adding Herbs.
  • If you have Supernatural EP, he will automatically improve Desserts by adding Honey.
  • it's possible to set the "Service Room", the place where the Chef will wait when idle;
  • He will cleanup you kitchen (wash dishes, PutAway Leftover, dispose snacks and bad food from fridge only);
  • If you have a Vegetarian Sim, he will always prefer Vegetarian Recipes;
  • Possibility to disable the PutAway Leftover and CleanUp Food;
  • Socialize with the Household Sims is disabled;
  • Inappropriate Interactions are disabled;

You can request the service using the Interaction on the Telephone (not Mobile) ("Chef Service > Request Service").
To set a new Service Room just click on any LightCeilingLamp ("Chef Service > Save as ServiceRoom").

Backup your saved game before testing

Game Mod: Conflicts?
No. This is not an overriding Mod. adds new classes Chef and ChefServiceSituation.

Uninstall Instruction:
- To avoid the corruption of the Saved Game, make sure cancelling the Service ("Chef Service > Cancel Service") using the Telephone (wait until the Chef disappear), make sure there is no Chef in your Lot, then Save your Game and Exit, then remove the package file.

Update Instruction:
- To avoid the corruption of the Saved Game, make sure cancelling the Service ("Chef Service > Cancel Service") using the Telephone (wait until the Chef disappear), make sure there is no Chef in your Lot, then Save your Game and Exit, then replace the package file with the new one, restart your game and request the Service again.

Updates:

v1.7 -> 04/May/2014

- Fixed: Some script incompatibilities from the besagame patch 1.67;

v1.4 -> 06/April/2013
- Fix: The Chef will ignore Simplants, because they don't have Hunger motive.
- Added: Polish translation (by anie_1981).
- Added: If you have University EP, he will automatically improve Meals by adding Herbs.
---> He will randomly consume Normal (or higher) quality Herbs from the Fridge;

I'll be checking back regularly for a 1.63 update! Currently I'm having a similar issue as user desiree101 - my Chef remains idol for a few sim-hours before excusing themselves from my employment and my sims are out 170 simoleons. But I do find I can still ask them to cook, and they will, but they don't stick around. Then I need to reset the service for a Chef to come back - this crowds up the service household in the game, so I do have to clean it out to avoid lag.

Thank you for your hard work!

So, the chef actually cooks something and food appears somewhere for the sim to eat?
Hmm, I don't even get that.
Interesting.
I'm checking regularly, too!

I found this mod to be a bit "off", i.e. it didn't work all the time. Did anyone else experience this?
Great idea BTW, douglasveiga!

Default The Housekeeper and The Chef, et all
Can not go without giving you some feedback and more praise for your mod(s). First thanks so much for updating.
At first I felt sorry for the Housekeeper..thought she might be too much of an "object" rather than a Sim. Same for the Chef. Well, I feel sorry no more. Here's what I've observed over the course of a Sim Season of playing them:

HOUSEKEEPER
The housekeeper likes the hot tub
Will take care of Pets AND Strays (I have 5 stray cats and 5 stray dogs) (I do have Cyberbob's MAID/Butler will feed clean pets in)
Also brushes the Horse
You can take him/her to a venue for some fun
You can ask to join video games, chess, Trivia Challenges, etc.
They will sit once in awhile
Does a good job cleaning up
Uses her Smartphone

THE CHEF:
You still need the Service Room light BUT The Chef leaves around 11-12PM and Returns at 6-6:30 AM. I am assuming he is out having a good time.
He will go to the Service area when not busy BUT Also Will: do everything the Housekeeper can do except I have not seen him take care of pets or use the hot tub. He joined the family at the park the other day and loves video games.

I am playing with these two in my game along with the Butler (I've disabled his cooking) and a maid comes daily. Had to fire her as she was spending too much time in the Hot Tub with the Housekeeper. Rehired another one. The same one showed up so we'll see what happens this time. When I started the test game the Original Butler left the first day. I used TA to get rid of him, hired another and he's been with the family for the Season.

I also have The Gardner Service and the two Gardeners continue to show up daily.

Between the servants, a Family of 9 Sims, 2 are preggers, all their company, and the animals this has been amusing.

Thank you again for these awesome mods!

Unfortunately, this isn't working in my game. I've tried three different "hires" and although the chefs go to the service room off the kitchen, they never cook anything autonomously and when prompted to make a meal, they just stand in the service room. The housekeeper works brilliantly, but the chef...not so much for me.

check if you have any other tunning mod that changes the hottub, because the object doesn't advertise tasks for maid.

you need to remove the "Cyberbob's MAID/Butler will feed clean pets"

That's not my fault, because the game adds these interactions. if you don't like it, you don't need to use them.

Actually that is normal. I implemented it because people were reporting that the game or the nrass - overwatch has been constantly removing the npc because it's considered 'stationary sim'.

You can disable the cleaning tasks through configuration interaction.

Service npcs are still considered townies. when requested, they will eventually visit some lots.

Hello douglasveiga.. Thank your for addressing each item but I sure hope you did not take my post as a complaint. I LOVE the way this is working in my game and only wanted to share how well it's all working together. I am now able to have a house full of servants, including EA's Maid and Butler and they're not bumping into one another and have had no other problems. Everything they are doing is something I want to see them doing or be able to do via an option and if I've wanted to change any of the "tasks" have been able to do so using a configuration option. This has been a totally amusing way to play a large wealthy family, with all kinds of animals in a huge house with lots of family members. Sooo, again, thank you once again for your mods.

btw: The chair she sits in once in awhile is the couch where she once joined for a video game.
The last quote was in reference to the instance where the Housekeeper likes the hot tub EA's maid has often decided to join her in there. The reference to the Butler was I disabled his autonomous cooking so he would not interfere with the Chef and will focus on other "chores" around the house.
