Picked Upload! This is a picked upload! It showcases some of the best talent and creativity available on MTS and in the community.
It's here - MoveObjects on allows you to place objects where they would normally wouldn't be able to be placed. The current version allows for placement inside of other objects and deletion of mailboxes via command. Objects can not be placed inside of walls yet.

The mod comes with two commands:
Toggle moveobjects:
Code:
tm.moveobjects on/off

moveobjects is on by default, but should you wish to turn it off at times, this command will let you do so.

Delete Lot's Mailbox:
Code:
tm.nomailbox

NOTE: Deleting a mailbox may cause unexpected issues with gameplay, so always be sure to backup your saves just in case.

Expect additional functionality in future versions.

Sharing: When sharing lots, downloaders must have the mod installed as well. Without it, the lot will still download but overlapping objects will be removed. Due to the issues mentioned below, there are still some circumstances where moving/sharing lots will not work.

Install
Save the zip file directly to your mods folder. Do not unzip!
If you haven't enabled script mods before, go to Game Options > Other > Script Mods and make sure it's checked. Apply and restart the game.

Update: Version 1.2 is now available. Highly recommended update: Fixed issue where moving lots that had foundations would cause all first floor objects to end up in your inventory.

Version History:
Code:
V1.1 - Fixed issue where objects would fail to load if you travel while moveobjects is disabled.
V1.2 - Fixed issue where moving lots that had foundations would cause all first floor objects to end up in your inventory.

Known issues
  • Rooms can not be saved when moveobjects is on. They may appear empty.
  • Sharing/Moving some lots still causes the items on the first floor to be removed.
  • Rotating or Moving a house around may leave the objects in their original positions.

You must have the expansion or stuff packs listed below installed to use this custom content. Please see the post text for any exceptions.

Weird. I'm not having any problems with pool interactions.

I installed this mod, my sims cook and will not eat what they have made, it also does break the pool, after I deleted this mod everything worked fine, reinstalled this mod and again the problems came back, so obviously this mod is at fault

Hey TM! I am also having the cooking/eating problem as well I read through the lastExpection document that the error generated and it said something along the lines of "this object has no attribute" if that's helpful in fixing the problem at all.

HOWEVER, this mod has made the game sooo much more enjoyable for me, so I do want to say thanks for that

EDIT: disregard my comment...the problem seems to have fixed itself. not really sure what happened just there. sorry for that!

hey there, i was wondering if there's a possibility of making a version where moveobjects if OFF by default? i have no knowledge of this type of modding whatsoever so i apologise if that's a stupid question

Okay, now my game's going wonky. My Simmies won't read, do homework, or eat; the game outright crashed a couple times. If I take this mod out, everything goes back to normal. If I put the mod back in - even by itself - the problems come back.

Do you know how it got fixed? Did you do a factory reset or something?

After installation, everything was fine, after a while, there'd be a glitch if my sim tried to eat from the fridge, the plate would go from their hand to the floor. If I tried to make them eat it from their inventory, still didn't work. I removed this mod and everything went back to normal? Did I do something wrong?

Honestly, and I feel stupid saying this, just going into buy mode seemed to temporarily solve my problems. If I went to a new lot, or did anything that required a load screen, the problem returned, but simply going into build/buy solved it until I left again.

Not sure if that's just lucky timing or what, and obviously not the greatest fix, but I've been able to play without issues so far.

Good luck, hope your problems are solved as well

Looks like I'm not the only one having problems with my Sims being unable to eat. They also cannot do homework or anything else I've tried that involves using a table, they just stand there and shift their feet like they're performing the "pee-pee dance" :D

I'm having the same problem here. I already furnished an entire home and I'd hate to have this objects deleted. I love my clutter. :C I already furnished an even bigger home - turned out beautifully cluttered, and when I'd moved the mod into a sub folder, I saved the game after some time of playing, only to realize that I could've solved it. There's that, but still, Sims won't eat or do other things, and one of my Sims keeps posing, legs straight, arms out.

I think this mod hasn't been updated for the recent pool patch. Too bad :c Maybe TwistedMexi is too busy to update this mod for now ?
At least we know that producers are working on reintroducing the "moveobjects" cheat for good in the game. But we all know how they're slowly... U___U
