Frezzi, I had the same thing. What you need to do is drag the mouse over all of that text that opens up and press Ctrl-C to copy it. Then open up notepad and paste it in there. Save it to the same name mentioned in this thread, but save it to your desktop temporarily. Then, go to the original file in your game directory, back up this file. After backing it up, copy the file that you just saved in notepad to the directory where the "original" game file is located and say yes to overwriting the file. That should do it for ya

GOOD LUCK !!!

So has anyone figured out how to see the houses next door when in another house, or the decorations, trees etc that you put in the neighborhood. I get the whole neighborhood screen but only the one house in the game. Can't see any other houses, or decorations. thanks

I think I understand, but the thing I don't is where to start! Do I go into My Computer or My Documents? It sounds really awesome if I wasn't so afraid of ruining things. HELP ME PLEASE! Thank you!!!

I had the same problem with the blue and black background and I suppose that this camera has difficulties with really big and crowded Neighborhood. My Pleasantview has 150 houses and about 1000 inhabitants. The problem didn't show in sparsely inhabited neigbh. It comes back to normal as soon as the default camera is reloaded. I kept the original safe. Anyway I have a spare "dead installation". One of my computers has a clean installation of TS2 that I don't play at all, just keep as recover material.
Sorry I don't know how to upload, that 's why just such bla-bla-bla.

Here's the ORGINAL Neighborhood Camera.
Just drag it into your My Documents/EA/The Sims/ Cameras and let it overide the old one.

8) then go back to the "Neighborhood Camera" again

Pasha knew that he lost a house on the edge. I did not till I discovered where they had gone. I believed that it had simply dissapeared. Nice one and thanks for that!

I love this camera, but it does not seem to work with University. My game kept crashing until I removed this file. Does anyone know how this can be fixed? I had a huge neighborhood with about 200 houses and now I've lost half of them. Any help would be appreciated.

Strange , I do not have this problem. It works very well for me :yippee: .

With instalation of University the camera-options has changed. I have established it again and it works without problems.:thumb:

I have used text from the first message from here.

Hi there ,

Here're 2 easy ways to save any text files from web-pages.

1st and the easiest way: "Right-click" & "save as" (to wherever you like)

2nd: if you've opened the text file in the browser, then go to "file" --> "Save as..." (to wherever you like) --> Save or Ok or etc...

The above 2 methods need no modification or copying or what, but just simply saving the original file to your desired location.

turns out that I had so many other problems in the end that I just started over from scratch. Once I did that, the camara worked great. Still rebuilding a neighbor hood so hopefully soon I will actually get to send someone to university.

OrlandoNightOwl:

Do you still have any backup folders of your neighborhoods from previous installation? Don't do this unless you have a backup of the complete My Documents/EAgames/Sims2 folder of your previous installation EXCEPT the camera folder. You won't be keeping that from your old install. You didn't have to lose all your neighborhood. I just found this forum today, so I couldn't answer this thread earlier. So, you couldn't use this camera hack is what I'm getting and you had to uninstall, then reinstall. If you have any backup files from your previous installation, try this:
Step 1. Take all your houses and families in your current game that you want to save and package them. If you have families that are in the bin that you want to keep, place them in a house or even an empty lot, then package them. If you have houses you want to keep in the house bin, place them in any neighborhood then package them. Don't forget all your neighborhoods if there is anything in those you want to keep. Also, if you had any new downloads you want to keep since your old installation that are in your game, you might want to save that folder. If you have movies, snapshots (storytelling folder) or custom neighborhoods (I believe it's the neighborhood terrain folder) in your current installation that you want to keep, save those folders including your packaged Lots and move them all to a safe location, desktop or someplace where your backups are not located.
Step 2. Now, don't do this unless you have a complete set of folders in your backups or you will have some folders missing. The reason I am going to tell you to just replace all folders except the camera is because I'm not sure what files the houses and families need to show up in the game. Select every folder in My Documents/EAgames/Sims2 of your current installation EXCEPT the camera folder or whatever one/s involved putting in this hack on your last installation. Delete all other folders EXCEPT the camera one (It sounds like that's the only folder involved). Now, delete the camera folder from your old installation backup folder. The idea is to keep the new installation camera folder and not replace it with the old one on your last installation. Since the camera folder is the one where you put in this hack in that caused you trouble (by what I've read in this thread), you will not replace the camera folder on your fresh installation. Take all other folders from your previous installation and copy them in your current My Documents/EAgames/Sims2 folder.
Step 3. Go back and install your houses, families, etc that I told you to save in step 1. Then open each folder you might have saved from your fresh installation (this is just if you had downloads, terrains, snapshots or movies that you didn't have in your first install that you wanted to keep) and send these to the appropriate folders. This should work
