Do you still have any
backup folders of your neighborhoods from previous installation? Don't do this unless you have a
backup of the complete My Documents/EAgames/Sims2 folder of your previous installation EXCEPT the camera folder. You won't be keeping that from your old install. You didn't have to lose all your neighborhood. I just found this forum today, so I couldn't answer this thread earlier. So, you couldn't use this camera hack is what I'm getting and you had to uninstall, then reinstall. If you have any
backup files from your previous installation, try this:
Step 1. Take all your houses and families in your current game that you want to save and package them. If you have families that are in the bin that you want to keep, place them in a house or even an empty lot, then package them. If you have houses you want to keep in the house bin, place them in any neighborhood then package them. Don't forget all your neighborhoods if there is anything in those you want to keep. Also, if you had any new downloads you want to keep since your old installation that are in your game, you might want to save that folder. If you have movies, snapshots (storytelling folder) or custom neighborhoods (I believe it's the neighborhood terrain folder) in your current installation that you want to keep, save those folders including your packaged Lots and move them all to a safe location, desktop or someplace where your backups are not located.
Step 2. Now, don't do this unless you have a complete set of folders in your backups or you will have some folders missing. The reason I am going to tell you to just replace all folders except the camera is because I'm not sure what files the houses and families need to show up in the game. Select every folder in My Documents/EAgames/Sims2 of your current installation EXCEPT the camera folder or whatever one/s involved putting in this hack on your last installation. Delete all other folders EXCEPT the camera one (It sounds like that's the only folder involved). Now, delete the camera folder from your old installation
backup folder. The idea is to keep the new installation camera folder and not replace it with the old one on your last installation. Since the camera folder is the one where you put in this hack in that caused you trouble (by what I've read in this thread), you will not replace the camera folder on your fresh installation. Take all other folders from your previous installation and copy them in your current My Documents/EAgames/Sims2 folder.
Step 3. Go back and install your houses, families, etc that I told you to save in step 1. Then open each folder you might have saved from your fresh installation (this is just if you had downloads, terrains, snapshots or movies that you didn't have in your first install that you wanted to keep) and send these to the appropriate folders. This should work
