Mootilda, I have a question..I didn't see anything in the main post about this so I figured I'd ask you. If I have Sims already in the Neighborhood and I completely replace it, for example Bluewater to Strangetown what will happen to the Sims house/etc?

The Bluewater lots will remain in the neighborhood unless you delete them, and those lots will contain the families.

I understand that, but, I have my Sims in a neighborhood, my question is if I put a new neighborhood over my Sims that is different than the neighborhood they're currently in what will happen to my Sims and their houses?

The lots and families will remain in the neighborhood. I'm sorry if I don't understand what you're asking.

Let me try to explain, I'll use an example:

Lets say I have the standard Maxis Strangetown, nothing added or changed, and I replace the neighborhood with a blank neighborhood over it, what will happen to the Sims... will they still be there and if so what will happen to their placement.

Sorry for confusing you.

If you have Strangetown and you replace the neighborhood with a blank neighborhood, you will still have the Strangetown lots and families, in the same locations.

Yes, but it doesn't work out as I thought it would... I had Sims in the side of mountains and Sims in the blue abyss outside of the terrain.

so you need to move the houses BEFORE you swap the terrain or there is an option to fix the elevation of various elements. Structures, such as lots, will be moved up or down to touch the new terrain. This should reduce problems such as lots flying in the air or disappearing underground. At this time, the elevation of bridges cannot be adjusted.

I used this program and moved all my lots to a small area where I knew the new terrain would be flat and then redistributed the houses in the new terrain.

I understand that, but if the terrain I am copying from is smaller than the one I want to copy to it still has the blue abyss, I also assumed it would put the roads from the new terrain it doesn't, so in my case I had a Bluewater Village with Strangetown roads... Forgive me if I am missing something.

After running HoodReplace, move the lots where you want them and then run HoodReplace again to copy a fresh terrain to fix any problems which arose.

To copy the roads, choose "Replace" for the roads option.

It makes me sad every time I see the "Attention! The creator of this download has not logged into MTS for some time. This is an amazing tool, it worked perfectly first time. Yes I had to move some lots out of the water and then lower the water as it popped up but wow, little job for me to do with such a huge benefit ... I thank you so much for your fantastic downloads Mootilda and I am sorry I haven't thanked you before, especially now given the circumstances. May you rest in peace xxxx

it makes me sad too!

I just used the hoodreplacer. I was scared to do it, but it was so easy and my hood looks so wonderful. Thanks so much mootilda, we miss you!

I'm not sure if anyone is going to see this, but I'm having some difficulties and I'm not sure what is causing it or how to fix it. I have a university on a dirt terrain which I want to copy over to a uni with a lush terrain. They are the same maps, so it should be easy. I managed to get everything copied over but the lots, and since it was built with lotadjuster I can't just place them in the new neighbourhood. Anyone have any idea how I can get the lots copied over?

Don't think this has been mentioned so might as well mention in case anyone else was looking. After hood replacing everything seemed to be correct except for the fact all neighbourhood decorations (and the vehicles on the road) were solid black. Changing an in-game graphic setting (I think it was lighting) put it right though. And thankfully I didn't need to keep those changes.

Question for whoever bothers - can I use this application to use a specific neighborhood as a vacation subhood? For example, if I copied the neighborhood I wanted to Twikkii Island, it should function that way, right? I just really don't want to go through all the steps in the changing neighborhoods tutorial, it's too much for me, lol.

Update - I just tried what I mentioned above and it worked except the lots didn't move over. Pretty cool I can use Paraiso as a vacation subhood tho, it rocks! I just have to package and reinstall the lots.

Nice tool !!!
At start I was confused cause all the Replaced hood gets hidden in gambe but I fixed the issue by replaceing the "hoodManager.package".

Here is a WIP of Pleasantview with all families and NPCs that I love 😁
