...which reminds me of somthing I wanted to say before :D

I saw on some Sites that they call this "SimPE Enabler Packages". This is confusing for you users .
As Numenor said this has nothing to do with SimPE, so simply call it "Color Enabler Package" or CEP if you are a lazy Typer

Thanks for all the hard work on this!

That's because the Wedding Cake (and the birthday cake, as well) are among the Excluded Object, so they can't be recoloured.

I know, I've said that SimPE would give an error if you try and recolor an excluded object, but I was obviously unaware that this thing was changed: SimPE doesn't give error anymore, just produces an empty recolour package.
Anyway, the cakes can't be recoloured...

That's a nasty object, because the 2 controllers and the console are separate objects, and we currently haven't found a way to tell to the game that when an alternate texture is applied to the console, it must be applied to the controllers, as well.

The only thing we might do, so far, is enabling recolour for the console only, but would you like to have a red console with green controllers?
I'd like to have feedback from all the users on this point.

Quaxi, Numenor and RGiles thank you so much for allowing Color Enabler Packages to be used on 'paysites.'

I agree with Nemi, your openmindedness and generousity IS amazing. You get the Will Wright medal for integrity!

I had to coin the "CEP" after you guys went to bed the night of release - after typing it 100 times in answering question I had to have initials

Come visit www.variousimmers.net where my original objects and recolors now reside. The site hosts many other creators, moddres and developers.

Rock on Quaxi, RGiles and Numenor.

The three of you are a massive credit to MTS2. As someone who skins more than plays I can only say that I'm incredibly excited by this development as it is going to provide so many more options for objects. All of us here owe you a debt of gratitude.

And for other sites planing on hosting recolours I highly recommend taking a look at the way Simagination has done it. The message on the front page is great and gives credit where credit is due. Kudos to that site too.

Thanks you all for all your hard work. I just have one question: Will the new executable overwrite the older installed packages?

Are you sure you have *two* pinball machine? If you have two icons lined in vertical, separated by a narrow line, it's absolutely normal, and it means that you have *only one* pinball (the original one) and that two parts of it can be recoloured separately.
As a matter of fact, the pinball machine is composed by two main parts: the exterior and the game board/display.

Otherwise, if you have two icons lined horizontally, that means that you actually have two pinball machines: if one of them has an asterisk, it can be deleted; if neither of them has the asterisk, you're in serious trouble...! :D
Let me know if this solved your problem.

Yes, it overwrites the older packages, without bothering the user asking confirmation. Nice, uh? Thanks uecasm!

yes the two are lined up vertically, one on top of the other. I just never had two before and I did not know if that was normal. I have pictures that are like that also, since downloading the color changing program.

but if you say it is okay and it won't mess up the game then I will just leave them in there.

thanks for your help.

other than that, the program is working great, I am so happy with my new tv's, hot tubs, easels, etc.

I think we have all been object deprived since sims1.

It's exactly the same you have for the beds, for instance: one row of icons for the bedding and one row for the frames. In this case you have one row (made of just 1 icon) for the pinball metallic frame and one row (1 icon) for the game board. You see only 1 icon per row because you haven't downloaded (or created) any additional recolour for them.
Try and install the attached pinball machine into your download folder, start the game and open the catalog: select the "Shark" pinball (the last one) and you'll be able to chose a different color for the frame and/or for the game board.

i feel stupid to ask this but do i need to download this to see the recolored objects in my game. Or is this download just for people who recolor things themselves.

You need it to see the recolored object too.

The newest SimPE, combined with the Color Enabler Packages ~ GREAT!! I went crazy, recoloring until my fingers were numb. Like some others, though, I kept saying to myself, "This is too easy...there's gotta be a catch..." But if there is, I haven't found it yet. :p

Thanks AGAIN, for the updated CEP!

[edit] I almost forgot why I came here today... I made the buttons below for use on my site (Mermaid Cove), to alert downloaders to the need for the CEP Packages for certain object recolors. I'll be using the larger one to mark instructions and links to download the Packages, and the smaller one next to text download links for the objects themselves.

Anyone who'd like to use these is welcome to download them (please don't link to my photobucket account).

If there isn't already a "standardized" graphic, and mods/admins here would like to put these in a conspicuous place for use by others recoloring with the CEP, that would be very cool.

If there IS already a "standardized" graphic, could someone point me to it?

Quaxi should have fixed this error tonight, so let's wait for the next update of SimPE (check his site often).

Thanks to Rentechd, we now HAVE an official icon and banner for the CEP.
Until we find a proper place to post them, I'm attaching them here. Everyone is welcome to download and use them to mark the CEP objects/links/downloads.

Thank you, Numenor. Unfortunately, those icons would literally disappear into my site's overwhelmingly blue-and-white color scheme! I'll keep my garish red ones...but I will show Rentechd's, as well.

I DO think it's important to have something instantly recognizable for downloaders who need the CEP, but I also think they need to be able to see it.
