Picked Upload! This is a picked upload! It showcases some of the best talent and creativity available on MTS and in the community.
XML Tuning Mod:
This one is really simple folks... this mod tunes all TVs so that while a Sim is watching the Cooking Cable channel and has any level of cooking... they will learn new recipes every ten minutes. The previous chance of learning a recipe was 3% per ten minutes... VERY SLOW. If you have all the expansion packs and the added cooking items from the Sims Store (Wood Bake Oven, etc)... expect the process of learning all the recipes to take a while as there are a ton of recipes. This however finally makes watching TV useful and more realistic to someone who actually is trying to learn cooking... think back to folks with a pad of paper in hand watching these shows and taking down every detail in the recipe and cooking process like a real chef would. In total with ALL expansions and ALL store items... it takes only about one Sim day to learn all the recipes in the game with 100% learning... also available is 50%, 25%, 10%, and completely blocked. This mod should reflect on all TVs regardless of which expansions you have! ONLY INSTALL ONE VERSION!

This mod uses: TV_0x2ebd9038fd112af1 and will partially conflict with other mods that use this XML... however the changes made to the tuning of the channel shouldn't hinder mod conflicts and should still be active... meaning it shouldn't harmfully conflict.

I may use the 10% or 25% one. While 3% does seem very slow, one every 10 minutes seems a little fast, too. Thanks for this!

I went for the 10% as well. Seemed to most accurately reflect how often I actually learn a recipe from cooking shows myself . Thanks for uploading!

Any chance this might conflict with any of the "faster skills gain" mods out there that include cooking?

It shouldn't. I use that mod as well. The skill gain is a completely different XML that instead of increasing how fast you gain skills... it lowers how much you need per level.

First, thank you for creating a very useful mod.
Second, I wanted to let you know that Dashboard reports a conflict with sibble's upgrade times mod here: http://modthesims.info/d/526870
Not being a modder, I can't imagine why they would conflict but I would like to use both mods and I hope you can help with this.
Thanks again!

The mod still functions as directed alongside that mod. However for the sake of size you can merge them by opening the upgrade mod in S3PE and import from package my mod and replace that XML.

This is perfect for me, because I usually make sims that are Natural Cooks, so I have a 'chef' in my house. It takes FOREVER reading books, but now, I can use this awesome mod to help my Natural Cooks. Thanks so much for this amazing mod! I may use 25, 50, or 100% xD

Going with 25%. Any chance on modding the other channels, such as Fishing or Gardening? My YA and A sims lead busy lives, but my Elders always need something to do. Now my grammas and granpas will be able to make stellar meals for the grandkids.
