Other Information:
* Hogwarts is a MASSIVE castle. Suggestions for game play is to keep decorations simple and to a minimum. Remember, this castle makes for great interaction and Sim videos. However, if you overload the castle (which is already quite large), it may slow down game play. It may also help to eliminate walls that are not useful. My Harry Potter Sims visit Hogwarts. Dumbledore and McGonagall live there. Nonetheless, it is still a great castle for your Sims and represents Hogwarts proudly!

* There are several rooms without doors. I did this intentionally. You will need to download an invisible door to place over the Fruitbowl Picture (with the pear) by the Kitchen, The Room of Requirement Wall, over the image of the "Fat Lady" and over the wall leading to Dumbledore's Office and Room. Here is a MTS2 link for an invisible door by pfish:
http://www.modthesims2.com/showthread.php?t=169396

* You also may have noticed that I did NOT include fireplaces. I did this because I did not like the look of the chimneys...so here is a direct link to a "working" fireplace by Mia that has no chimney :
http://www.modthesims2.com/member/s...ad.php?t=162948

* I used the Spiral Stairs in the center of Dumbledore's room. It looks awesome! Get them here:
http://www.modthesims2.com/showthread.php?t=249237

* The Moveable Stairs are not really moveable. The Stairwell runs from the Dungeon Level to the 4th Floor.

* I used every wall tile that can be used on this lot, which means that if you want to add a wall you must remove another. I tried to include everything with this download, so hopefully you will not need to rearrange the walls too much. I've already rearranged my decorated version a little. Keep this in mind just in case. The game only alots a little over 900 useable wall tiles in one lot. The same is true for fences, windows, etc. I used ALL available wall tiles to create this little masterpiece. Enjoy!

* Due to the size of the actual castle, I decided to combine a few rooms on one floor. Please understand that this is not the television version. I tried to stay true to the books as much as possible, but I also wanted this lot to be Sim friendly. The house dorms are each located in a tower. They were designed for up to 8 students per tower (4 boys and 4 girls). This is my favorite replica of Hogwarts as I think it is more true to form and encompasses a little of everything with ample space to create classrooms and have school.

NOTE:
There is a smaller version of Hogwarts (both decorated and undecorated) available for those of you who prefer smaller lots as I do.

TRAVEL TRUNKS

I've also co-created Harry Potter Travel Trunks with Jason Duskey for your Harry Potter Sims to have upon arriving at Hogwarts and to use to change clothes while at Hogwarts. They can be found here:

MY TEXTURES:
All stephanie b. walls, floors and ground covers included in houses downloaded from MTS2 can be used in lot creations on any free or pay site as long as I receive credit for the textures. Please do not post my textures (walls, floors or groundcovers) or lots on other sites without my permission or reupload them as your own by giving them color face-lifts without giving me credit for the original design. Thank you!

NOT A CARBON COPY:
These lots are creations from my imagination based mainly on excerpts from the books and on-line information. I am basing very little on the movie versions of each place, so don't expect exact replica's of movie versions of the various places in the Magic and Muggle World.

MY VISION FOR HARRY POTTER NEIGHBORHOOD:
My vision for this neighborhood is that the students do not "live" in Hogwarts. I see the school as home to only a few teachers (Dumbledore, McGonagall, Trelawney). Everyone else is spread out in either their family homes or in the Summer Houses.

MY SOURCE:
I used the floorplans found on the Harry Potter Lexicon site as inspiration. For extensive Potter INFORMATION, checkout the HP Lexicon here: www.hp-lexicon.org

Basic Download and Install Instructions:

1. Download: Click the download link to save the .rar or .zip file(s) to your computer.

2. Extract the zip, rar, or 7z file.

3. Install: Double-click on the .sims2pack file to install its contents to your game. The files will automatically be installed to the proper location(s).
  • You may want to use the Sims2Pack Clean Installer instead of the game's installer, which will let you install sims and pets which may otherwise give errors about needing expansion packs. It also lets you choose what included content to install. Do NOT use Clean Installer to get around this error with lots and houses as that can cause your game to crash when attempting to use that lot. Get S2PCI here: Clean Installer Official Site.

Starting in May (after I am settled in my new home), I will start creating Sim things again. I will work on a new Hogwarts then, smaller and more functional. I will keep you in mind when I do. I may not post it, but I will send it to you to "test" for me. In the meantime, there is a smaller version of mine here:

http://www.modthesims2.com/download.php?t=261673

AND another version by BlackOrchid here:
http://www.modthesims2.com/download.php?t=308057

While I haven't downloaded BlackOrchid's version, I do like the look of it. While I'm still going to recreate mine (as I have great plans for it), perhaps you will love this other version better. and need not wait until I can get myself together.

Great stuff Lizzy! You may want to get the smaller version of this castle/school as well. This version is a bit harsh on resources if your computer isn't up to speed.

Do enjoy the downloads!

Me too.

It's hard to look back at these lots and not want to rebuild them knowing what I know now! But...until I do..they remain and will simply have to do. :D

CMPunk,
I think you missed the point. There are several versions of this lot available. Some downloaders do not have all of the EPs or have older computers that cannot handle Custom Content. Some downloaders load the lot anyway, knowing that it may not work. Originally, Lizzy did not have all the required EPs for this lot. When she got the EPs the lot worked just fine for her.

I'll leave you to decide if you wish to download the lot for yourself. If you have the required EPs and a computer that can handle Custom Content, you should not have any issues with the lot. Otherwise, enjoy the download.
