This is a new mesh, and means that it's a brand new self contained object that usually does not require a specific Expansion pack (although this is possible depending on the type). It may have Recolours hosted on MTS - check below the description for more information.

***Major UPDATE*** Now takes colours from original bookcase (including recolours) ********** 29/4/05

Hi Guys,

Would you test this for me please?

Made with SimPE v 0.35, Milkshape and Mesh Tool, it has its OWN unique (registered) GUID ... (so it does not replace the games own version)...it is in addition to it...(so you can have your symetry! :howdy

It is EP ready (though not required).

*****************************************************
UPDATE: This bookcase now draws ALL its colour options from your existing bookcase...including any recolours that you have (or will) download).(see pic 3)

You cannot recolour this....(indeed, you don't have to). It now has NO texture files... it uses the ones from Maxis (or your recolours)

(My apologies to the 810 people who downloaded the original version: This new verson (dated 29/4/05) will simply overwrite your existing download and enable all your existing recolours automatically .)

******************************************************

This is NOT my mesh...it is simply Maxis's mesh ...flipped! ...so the polygon count is the same as Maxis's.

It functions exactly the same as the original, it is the same price..and in the same place in the catalogue. (It should appear next to the game's original.)

OK... no stars for design today...but the people in the thread seemed to want it so much, I thought I'd give it a go...

Please report any issues...and thanks for testing

Bob

This is BRILLIANT!!! Stupid maxis! I love the game but sometimes I can't help but think that they don't think everything through properly.

Good question! I'd like to know that, too! (Probably already answered on the next page, but I haven't read that far...)

I never used this bookcase before, because I couldn't stand having it curve in only one direction, and it didn't look right when I just put another on in backwards. Now that I have this one, I can actually use the original!

Off to read the rest of the comments...

As thefuzmixman said earlier, to put a vase or small flower on a fireplace just move the item over one of the fireplace squares and it should snap into the middle.

Well in my game there is only one colour.... ...but if you make a recolour for the original...you can use the same graphic (do not 'flip it.. it will flip automatically) for a recolour of mine...
