This is a new mesh, and means that it's a brand new self contained object that usually does not require a specific Expansion pack (although this is possible depending on the type). It may have Recolours hosted on MTS - check below the description for more information.

***Major UPDATE*** Now takes colours from original bookcase (including recolours) ********** 29/4/05

Hi Guys,

Would you test this for me please?

Made with SimPE v 0.35, Milkshape and Mesh Tool, it has its OWN unique (registered) GUID ... (so it does not replace the games own version)...it is in addition to it...(so you can have your symetry! :howdy

It is EP ready (though not required).

*****************************************************
UPDATE: This bookcase now draws ALL its colour options from your existing bookcase...including any recolours that you have (or will) download).(see pic 3)

You cannot recolour this....(indeed, you don't have to). It now has NO texture files... it uses the ones from Maxis (or your recolours)

(My apologies to the 810 people who downloaded the original version: This new verson (dated 29/4/05) will simply overwrite your existing download and enable all your existing recolours automatically .)

******************************************************

This is NOT my mesh...it is simply Maxis's mesh ...flipped! ...so the polygon count is the same as Maxis's.

It functions exactly the same as the original, it is the same price..and in the same place in the catalogue. (It should appear next to the game's original.)

OK... no stars for design today...but the people in the thread seemed to want it so much, I thought I'd give it a go...

Please report any issues...and thanks for testing

Hairfish- Thank you thank you thank you thank you for answering! I ran clean installer, deleted everything pink or red, reinstalled this item, and still can't get it to show up right. I was so excited about this, and it's disappointing that it doesn't work. Well, I am grateful for all of Boblishman's other *wonderful* items, so I guess having problems with just this one is okay. His stuff is always so nice, so I should stop trolling on this board, lest people get the wrong idea. I had just hoped that he would answer. Oh, well.

Thank you. It's irked me from day one that there wasn't a "flipped twin" of this bookcase.

You know, I got this a while back and found out that in Uni, you can't research with this bookcase... Well in short, you can't do any "Uni" stuff with the flipped side... Only regular options...

It really isn't a HUGE problem since you'll usually find the original Maxis made one with full options a few tiles away, but still something to think about I guess...

Thanks for the mesh btw, I use it everychance I get...

I can't seem to download the file posted here, I've tried 3 times to no avail - It keeps coming up as corrupted this usually is fixed with redownloading but it doesn't seem to help this time. I'll keep trying though until someone replies, thanks in advance

Hooray! I've always wanted to do that with the bookcases and now-I-can! Thanks

"Tell me," said Magrat, "you said your mummy knows about the big bad wolf in the woods, didn't you?"
"That's right."
"But nonetheless she sent you out by yourself to take those goodies to your granny?"

Default Thank you so much, Boblishman
I know your work from thesims2.com already and I appreciate what you're sharing here. The mirrored Bookcase is exactly what I was looking for. However, I downloaded some more from you and it will be a great addition to my game.

Greetings.

Thank you for this one, Bob! I have been bugged about this ever since the game came out, it seemed such an obvious thing that Maxis *could* have made the mirrored set. Now I found yours just before I was going to try it myself. :elephant:

Is there any chance that you could update this so that it has the new bookcase options from Freetime and Apartment Life?
