This is a new mesh, and means that it's a brand new self contained object that usually does not require a specific Expansion pack (although this is possible depending on the type). It may have Recolours hosted on MTS - check below the description for more information.

Hello everybody!

Here is another thing that could make your log cabins look more realistic: log modular stairs.

Staircase was cloned from the base game one so no EP required.

! Modular stairs come with 2727_LogModularStairs_1.txt file that should be placed in your Scriptorium_ModularStairs folder.
Otherwise you should copy the text in it at the bottom of the modularstairs.txt file in this folder: C:\Program Files\EA GAMES\The Sims 2\TSData\Res\Catalog\Scripts

Railing (fence) matching this staircase can be found here.

Polygon Counts:
Stairs: about Face 167, Vertex 22

Neat stairs...downloaded and ready to install, except that I use a mac, and thus can't find the TSData folder or any of the ones that follow, under the path you give: ea games/the sims 2.

When I do a search of the hard drive with spotlight, I find several TSdata folders, one for each expansion pack. Which one should I use??

BTW, not sure if this helps answer my question, but according to spotlight, the TSData folders on my mac can be found using path: the sims s.localized/Expansion packs.localized/[name of EP].localized

Woops, what I’ve done! Did I make too a good start? It is bad. It commits me to correspond… LOL
Anyway, I’m very glad you like my stairs. The series to be continued.

I'm really sorry, but I have no idea where to find this folder in Mac. I'm sure it differs from PC.
You can try to install my stairs using Numenor's Scriptorium. There is an instruction for Mac users. Hope it can help...

I'm guessing you'd need the folder that relates to the base game. Thats the folder I use although I am a PC user.

Scriptorium is not a must for modular stairs. It's just a way to install them. I myself prefer old good way of manual editing of the script file.

If you use a PC you need to find the modularstairs.txt file on the path I wrote above and insert at the end of it the script from the text file that you download together with my stairs.

Here is this script:

#Jeka_LogModularStairs_1

modularStairs 2727
objectID landing 0x002C8226
objectID placeholder 0x002C8225
objectID step 0x002C8227
objectID topStep 0x002C8224
objectID bottomStep 0x002C8222
catalogTextIndex 1

Save the modularstairs.txt file and enjoy.
Don't forget to put the stairs in your Downloads folder, of course.

If you are a Mac user... I'm afraid I can't explain how to install modular stairs without Scriptorium. I've never played The Sims 2 on Mac and have no idea how it works. Sorry!
