This is a new mesh, and means that it's a brand new self contained object that usually does not require a specific Expansion pack (although this is possible depending on the type). It may have Recolours hosted on MTS - check below the description for more information.

Hi !

How can we build true gardens without these plants ?? They really missed in the Sims 3 ! Well, they will not miss longer ! After a hard work I finally converted these hedges and topiaries from the Sims 2 to the Sims 3. You don't need any EP.

This set contains :
  • "Boxy Lady" (150§)
  • A-maze-ing Hedge (180§)
  • Missink Point Mystery Topiary (140§)
  • Decorative Egg Topiary (225§)
  • The Poetic Porpoise Topiary (250§)

You will find these shrubs in the shrubs section of the build mode.

NB : These shrubs are not CASTable. Some topiaries, specially the dolphin, have a polygon count a little bit high. If you configuration is low, use them slightly in order to your game does not lag.

Edit (7th april 2015) : I remade all these five shrubs and I added sunshadows.

Have fun !

Jim

Polygon Counts:
Object : High/Low
"Boxy Lady" : 672/184
A-maze-ing Hedge : 1184/280
Missink Point Mystery Topiary : 756/176
Decorative Egg Topiary : 1414/264
The Poetic Porpoise Topiary : 2011/722

Don't forget to Thank the creator after downloading! Use the Thanks button located above the screenshots above.
Quick Guide:

1. Click the file listed on the Files tab to download the file to your computer.
2. Extract the zip, rar, or 7z file. Now you will have either a .package or a .sims3pack file.

For Package files:

1. Cut and paste the file into your Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 3\Mods\Packages folder. If you do not already have this folder, you should read the full guide to Package files first: Sims 3:Installing Package Fileswiki, so you can make sure your game is fully patched and you have the correct Resource.cfg file.
2. Run the game, and find your content where the creator said it would be (build mode, buy mode, Create-a-Sim, etc.).

For Sims3Pack files:

1. Cut and paste it into your Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 3\Downloads folder. If you do not have this folder yet, it is recommended that you open the game and then close it again so that this folder will be automatically created. Then you can place the .sims3pack into your Downloads folder.
2. Load the game's Launcher, and click on the Downloads tab. Find the item in the list and tick the box beside it. Then press the Install button below the list.
3. Wait for the installer to load, and it will install the content to the game. You will get a message letting you know when it's done.
4. Run the game, and find your content where the creator said it would be (build mode, buy mode, Create-a-Sim, etc.).

Extracting from RAR, ZIP, or 7z: You will need a special program for this. For Windows, we recommend 7-Zip and for Mac OSX, we recommend Keka. Both are free and safe to use.

YES. Yes. YES YES. THere are NO bushes in the game that give the same effect as these square ones. none to line houses with, none to line paths with, they all look sparse and stupid, and I hate that empty space under all of them.

YES.

That hedge fence is missing so much character, I don't even use it. I longed for these hedges so much, and as they say, "you don't miss the water til the well runs dry".

Most appreciative thanks from me to you!!

Thank you so much! The shrub fence is ok for quickie shrubs to line a garden, etc. But can't be used next to buildings - too many limitations. Thank you again, and again, and again.......

Just tried them out in game - they look great and, unlike the ones in Sims 2, don't have to be trimmed!
Thank you!
