This is a new mesh, and means that it's a brand new self contained object that usually does not require a specific Expansion pack (although this is possible depending on the type). It may have Recolours hosted on MTS - check below the description for more information.
Don't you just hate the lack of short male hair that isn't so spikey you're afraid if you put it on a sim you might just kill him? I do. I think I have three good short male hairs in my game, maybe four. So I decided it was high time I did something about it, and something that would made me think. My other upload was shamefully easy, so this I think is better. This is the same hair that is worn by Sims 2 sims such as John Burb, Victor Aspir and Armand DeBateau. I used this hair often, too often probably, and was pining for it.
So here it is!

Oh and yayness! The control was fixed by Menaceman44, praise him with your cookies! I'm going to work on the child version now, then the toddler version, but life seems to want me to pay attention to it, so it's taking longer than usual.

More moreness! Menaceman44, who has been so much help that I may propose, showed to me that the LODs weren't correctly alligned (see: So, I'm uploading that too. Why is this good? Because people with lower preformance games may see scalp clipping which is a bad thing. So now, hopefully, they won't. I recommend you download the new version 4.

Finally, the textures aren't great, I had to scale them upwards and make them brighter and what not, but they are better than my first attempt (the first attempt was bad, really bad).

Anywhom, have fun! :D

Don't forget to Thank the creator after downloading! Use the Thanks button located above the screenshots above.
Quick Guide:

1. Click the file listed on the Files tab to download the file to your computer.
2. Extract the zip, rar, or 7z file. Now you will have either a .package or a .sims3pack file.

For Package files:

1. Cut and paste the file into your Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 3\Mods\Packages folder. If you do not already have this folder, you should read the full guide to Package files first: Sims 3:Installing Package Fileswiki, so you can make sure your game is fully patched and you have the correct Resource.cfg file.
2. Run the game, and find your content where the creator said it would be (build mode, buy mode, Create-a-Sim, etc.).

For Sims3Pack files:

1. Cut and paste it into your Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 3\Downloads folder. If you do not have this folder yet, it is recommended that you open the game and then close it again so that this folder will be automatically created. Then you can place the .sims3pack into your Downloads folder.
2. Load the game's Launcher, and click on the Downloads tab. Find the item in the list and tick the box beside it. Then press the Install button below the list.
3. Wait for the installer to load, and it will install the content to the game. You will get a message letting you know when it's done.
4. Run the game, and find your content where the creator said it would be (build mode, buy mode, Create-a-Sim, etc.).

Extracting from RAR, ZIP, or 7z: You will need a special program for this. For Windows, we recommend 7-Zip and for Mac OSX, we recommend Keka. Both are free and safe to use.

This is just the type of thing that I'd like to see more of. The game doesn't have enough good hair and clothing styles.

Oh thank god.

It says a lot about this game that there are so many conversions from the Sims 2 turning up. And quite rightly, tbh.

Fantastic, I loved this hair in TS2! I know you must get a million suggestions but I think converting the long hair from the Sims 2 base game (you know, the cool rocky style one with a side fringe) would be totally awesome.

Sometimes I wonder if they put crap hair in the Sims 3 base game to force you to buy the expansions and look for mods?

Thank you so much! The hair for males on the Sims is usually not very good, but the Sims 3 ones were awful, minus maybe one or two.

This is absolutely gorgeous.. Thank you soo much for the effort and will to make and share. You are quite right, alot of the short hairs are way too spikey or messy, so this shall be well used as the savior of many picky sims with greater taste

There is definitely not enough short hair in Sims 3. I've been looking for something like this. Thanks!

I hope this hairstyle for kids comes soon, I definitely need it as I had a simkid in TS2 who had that hairstyle and now I've remade him in TS3 he needs his favourite haircut!

A wonderful job... we just had a conversation on the EA forum about how much we missed the simpler Sims 2 male hair. This was my favorite... but the one I would love to see (since you mentioned you wanted our preferences...) was the Skater boy hair... Well, that's what I called it, anyway Here's what it looked like:

It was not as girlie as the emo hair we have now and really cute on young adults and teens. That would be my choice! (and thanks for this!)
