Welcome to Acorn Bend!
Updated: September 15th 09 - Fixed issue with the decorated version, for the 20 of you who downloaded, DL again

Check out our pamphlet!
Acorn Bend is a new town located between majestic mountains. Since the roads are often long, winding, and precariously perched among the jagged mountain sides, they are the path less traveled. Here in Acorn Bend, main means of access are via canal. This clean and clear canal is home to some of the best fishing and recreational activities, such as boating and human to marine life interactions. With the ocean only a short ride away, Acorn Bend is truly a wonderful region to start zoning and building on!

There is plenty of room for houses of all shapes and sizes. There is a low coast if you would like to try experimenting with beach lots or the water flowing technique. This are is a true modern day marvel. Stare in awe, for this once used to be a mountain! Technology...well...blew it up! Massive retaining walls were erected to hold back the sliding land, and a canal was dredged out for a way to access the other towns far out of reach.

Video Brochure, because watching is better than reading

I made a video for it, I like it so much. So, be sure to swing in and check it out if you have a chance. Be warned though, it is one of my most FAVORITE video game music pieces ever, it may cause you to have nostalgic moments and wanna play "Super Mario 64"

This is beautiful!

Everyone has a weakness, everyone dies, and everyone passes out after getting hit with a steel bat.

I was so worried this wouldn't show up in the neighborhood chooser because the only other time I tried a custom hood, it never showed, but Acorn Bend was there!!! and absolutely gorgeous. Thank you so much. I especially like the smaller plats, Maxis hoods have such huge chunks of real estates and I wanted one where I could crowd the houses all together.

Is there an achievement for getting all the achievements?

This looks awsome, but I haveTS3, any chance you'll be modding this for use in TS3?
#37 Old 30th Sep 2009 at 8:52 PM
I don`t think that TS3 neighborhoods are similar enough to TS2 neighborhoods for that to work, Sniper069.

I love this 'hood! If you don't mind me asking, what program do you use to create your own neighborhoods? I read somewhere I thought that you could use Sim City 4? Thanks.

Sim City 4 is the *only* tool I know of for creating new neighborhood terrain maps. [Sims 2 itself is the only tool I know of for creating new actual neighborhoods.]

If you use Sim City 4, which I have, are there instructions on how to create the maps and then export them to TS2? I've always wanted to make my own map but don't know how.

I *think* that the Wiki has instructions on it somewhere. I do know that you have to use only the *smallest* size "city", and copy the .SC4 file you create, and that the map gets reversed left-to-right [or maybe top-to-bottom; they`re equivalent here], and that details of what gets copied correctly are available [again, on the Wiki], but other than that, I don`t think I can help you much. For example, I have no idea how to generate the four .PNG images that are supposed to go with the .SC4 file. The terrain will work fine without them, but you won`t be able to SEE the terrain in the terrain-file selector if you leave them out.

I adore this hood, but I cannot see to get it to show up in my neighbourhood. I have tried changing file names, but still hasn't worked can you help?
#50 Old 19th Nov 2009 at 8:33 PM
Very interesting hood! I am having trouble finding a place to put beach lots, though. What am I not seeing or doing right?
