I'm afriad I have to report the same results as other users here; when placed on a lot they are all that a Sim will pay attention to and interact with. They only react to each other if there are no empty spots to browse at so they talk to each other until a spot becomes free. The Sim who has stopped browsing will also immediately leave the lot afterwards.

Wow. I really am awstruck. This is truly brilliant. I have been a bit down in the dumps lately, becuse I am truly atticted to downloading and while there is always great content on this and the other sites I frequent, one that I use to go to shut down. Between the 4 sites that I visit daily, as well as the many sites I visit on a weekly basis, I was assured that I would find somthing that would change my game play and make me so excited to play. It has been months since I have found somthing like that. But you did it. I truly love this idea and cant wait to put it in my game.

I also love these postcards, but I am also getting the addiction problem. My sims won't do anything except browse the postcards. Is there a way to tone down the attractiveness? Thanks for all the hard work ya'll put into these.

Hmm yes I do have norton (Can't get rid of it, actually). I'm a firewall dummy..can't figure out how to fix it, so I will go with just visiting and checking them out. =) But at least I know what's happening! Thanks MaryLou.

The most funny thing is that a couple of days ago i was thinking of a postcard shop for my sims as it would be awesome with Bon Voyage additions, and i thought "Bleh, Maxis missed that... "
See, it's a 'tradition' in my country: almost all the town shops, tobacco sellers, tourist shops, village shops & even big gas stations have postcards lol ^^ so now i can make realistic shops in every theme possible

I had the same happen, my playable Sim got a flashing browse Icon. And nonplayables have done nothing at all. Everyone was still on his Place like a Sculptue. A nice view decorative Sims everywere on the Lot. Only some conversation started. Even with Bar on the Lot.

About the excessive appeal of the racks - We are checking why this happen; in our earlier tests, the sims didn't concentrate that much on the rack, but now we can confirm that they *are* excessively appealing. We are working to better tweak the racks and make them less addictive.

(@ Daisie) About the showcase description - You are right, it's our fault Dealing with 93 files in total made us forget to translate that description; we'll post the fixed version soon.

About the racks missing from the catalog - The racks can be bought only in non-residential lots; you should find them in the Buy Mode catalog: depending on the EP that you have installed, you can find them in Misc/Misc (if browsing the normal section, i.e. the one you normally use in residential lots) or in Shopping/Misc (if browsing the community catalog)

Thank you for the response. The sentence that had me thinking I could buy them on residential lots was this one: "You can find the postcard racks in the Residential catalog, in the section Misc/Misc." But I understand now.

We didn't think to specify that a cash register is needed in order to buy the postcards because, after all, nothing can be bought in game without a cash register...

This is the phrase that made me think I could just put some postcard racks in my nightclub lot:

"you can buy the postcards only from the postcard racks"

You can buy many things without a cash register in game, such as cappucino, drinks at a bar, and so forth. Cell phones, MP3 players, game players, too. That's how I initially thought these functioned. In real life there are often little boxes with slots so you can put in your quarters and take the postcard (or candy, or whatever) without having to stand in a line and pay. At least there are here.

It's no big deal--I just went in and cleared room for a cash register after I saw that they could only "browse" and not "buy" without a cash register. But these will go into quite a few lots that wouldn't ordinarily need a cash register...or so I think. I'm really glad to see that you're working on the attractiveness problem and aren't offended that we brought it up!

These look great, and I can't wait to try them in my game. I'll be looking forward to the update with less attractiveness. Now for a slightly unrelated question: How do I get my cash registers to sit diagonally on the corner like in your screenshots. Thanks again.

I've seen this in-game now and I can't think of any download I've been more pleased with or more impressed by. I especially like the way the cards display on the wall after a sim has bought them, but the whole idea just seems so....right!
Yes, there is an issue with the racks being a bit too appealing at the moment but I'm sure you'll fix that soon enough. I can't say I found it much of an issue anyway.

Actually, yes it was. Are you going to post the textures, or do I have to earn four hundred bucks so I can buy Photoshop and do it myself?

Hello, it appears to just be happening to me but I placed it into the market in the three lakes vacation community and my playable sims can not purchase the postcards. it goes into the que and disappears. It's a rack hanging on the wall, at first I thought it was because it was being swarmed by a bunch of townies but when I had the sim shoo them all away and go look for herself it made no difference. Let me know if I did something wrong. It's a awesome mod, I would love for it to work for me. By the way I have all the expansions installed and all stuff packs except for H&M and Teen.

Can you make it so we can send postcard to someone when in vacation, like in Sims1? Maybe you have to make a custom mailbox like in Sims1 Vacation. And then when we play the sim that we send him the postcard, the mailman delivers it in the mailbox. Thank you.
