Everything you want from a condemned building, with none of the inconvenient sanitation!

This once elegant manor has seen better days. Abandoned by its owners after a devastating smustle epidemic, it had fallen into ruin.

That's when "Ed" moved in, installed plumbing, and opened an unlicensed, illegal grill and convenience store (sorry, the bar cost money). While he did not have the cash to restore the place to its original grandeur, he did manage to shore up the foundations and keep the building from falling farther into the massive sinkhole forming below. Electricity is spotty, the roof is partially open to the elements, and the only heat is from the rusty old stove. No custom content.

I created this lot for use in the Poverty Challenge that I am running on the Sims2Community site (see the link in my signature). It is pretty much an all-purpose community lot, and your sims can fill all of their needs here but energy. They can play pinball, buy food and clothing, kick gnomes, eat hot dogs, woohoo in the photo booth, and, um, bathe. There's even a toilet on the front lawn! Hooray!

Rules for use in the poverty challenge:
You may redecorate it. You may not move the walls, windows, doors, or objects. You may NOT add new objects (including lights), unless they have no function other than for decoration- no hacked decorative objects allowed either. You may delete existing objects.

You may not allow your poverty challenge sims to visit any other community lot.

You must have the expansion or stuff packs listed below installed to use this custom content. Please see the post text for any exceptions.

Don't forget to Thank the creator after downloading! Use the Thanks button located above the screenshots above.
Basic Download and Install Instructions:

1. Download: Click the download link to save the .rar or .zip file(s) to your computer.

2. Extract the zip, rar, or 7z file.

3. Install: Double-click on the .sims2pack file to install its contents to your game. The files will automatically be installed to the proper location(s).
  • You may want to use the Sims2Pack Clean Installer instead of the game's installer, which will let you install sims and pets which may otherwise give errors about needing expansion packs. It also lets you choose what included content to install. Do NOT use Clean Installer to get around this error with lots and houses as that can cause your game to crash when attempting to use that lot. Get S2PCI here: Clean Installer Official Site.

I just found out about your poverty challenge, and it looks GREAT! I can't wait to go home next weekend and start. (Maybe if I'm super-obsessive, I'll be able to complete it all in one weekend? LOL!) Thanks so much for organizing the challenge; I think it's a wonderful idea.

Yes, it's sort of hidden in the corner.

hmmm... it was working before, but I checked it and you're right... maybe this is the result of how all the sims2packs were supposed to be switched to rar... because it says it is WinRAR when you download, but you still get a sims2pack file...

I will see what I can do about fixing it, I may have to re-upload the file

okay, the file got corrupted somehow, I have replaced the attachment- now we just need to wait for the new file to be approved

I look forward to trying your poverty challenge, but it looks hard. Thanks for this lot.
