Title: 02 Apartment Lane [NL] - Four houses, just over 50.000
Category: Lots & Housing > Residential

Cost: 50.943
Lot size: 4x3
Households: 4

Nightlife expansion required.
Custom content: 2 x Wallpaper, by myself

4 small and cheap row houses. Two houses are furnished, the other two only contain plumbing and some basic fixtures. Every house has a little garden, a front porch, and a basement; six driveways included. Some landscaping/decoration.

Each house has

1 x double bedroom
1 x single bedroom / spare room
1 x bathroom
1 x kitchen/dining/living room

Basic appliances included: lights, toilet, bathtub, fridge, kitchen sink, phone, burglar alarm, smoke detector, trash can, bookshelf. House 1 (leftmost) also has a small pool, house 2 a dart board.

Expandability: The basements can be much enlarged.

Recommended hacks: You need to assign the doors somehow so that your sims know which apartment is theirs. I think if you have OfB you can use the locking doors funcionality for that, otherwise get hold of Inge Jones' lockable doors or access management system (formerly or use the "Smart Door" hack by tunaisafish (untested by me, but seems to work nicely + is well-maintained). I also like to use Inge's Mortgage/Rent shrubs for this kind of house.

If you get an "expansion pack data required" error upon installation, use Clean Installer instead of the Maxis one. Apparently this is a known issue (not specific to this download), see this thread describing the problem and this post (daysies) explaining the workaround.

For the extra trashcans and mailboxes on this lot, I used this useful collection (229 in-game objects, by frillen).

Basic Download and Install Instructions:

1. Download: Click the download link to save the .rar or .zip file(s) to your computer.

2. Extract the zip, rar, or 7z file.

3. Install: Double-click on the .sims2pack file to install its contents to your game. The files will automatically be installed to the proper location(s).
  • You may want to use the Sims2Pack Clean Installer instead of the game's installer, which will let you install sims and pets which may otherwise give errors about needing expansion packs. It also lets you choose what included content to install. Do NOT use Clean Installer to get around this error with lots and houses as that can cause your game to crash when attempting to use that lot. Get S2PCI here: Clean Installer Official Site.

I know I'm starting to sound like a broken record... but I love all your little houses!
When I actually play the game (which is rare, all my time is spent making things. LOL!) I use a Neighborhood that 90% of the houses are yours.

This is the first time I've said it, but it sounds like the above two . . .

I love your homes. I just made a custom neighborhood just for them. They're perfect!

*dies of the cuteness*

This lot is so perfect for housing unrelated custom sims I mostly keep as NPCs. Except now that they have such a cute residence I'll actually want to play them! :D

Thanks for this and ALL your adorable houses!

I love your apartment houses. I also downloaded 01. Where did you get the outside garbage cans though. I have a house where one disappeared and would like to replace it.

229 ingame objects, by frillen. The trashcan is in collection #4. Thanks for asking, I forgot *yet again* to give proper credit ...

All of your lots are so cleaverly thought about, i love them all. You are just too good at building homes on such a tight budget which are spacious, have character and fit together so perfectly.

Wow. Reminds me of the apartment my older sister is currently living in. 'Cept there's no such thing as that siding stuff in California. xD
These will work wonderfully for the current neighborhood I'm working on. Thanks for putting this up!
