My sims are dusting off their had-to-have microwaves as we speak! Thanks for making it relevant again.

Hello Darcius,

I had to make a decision with the chili & the mac/cheese. The only way I could get them to work properly in the microwave was to clone then from the ramen & make new objects out of them. The reason for this has to do with the Prep method - you are only allowed one prep method per food & because these foods are originally intended to be cooked in a pot on the stove the prep method & animations don't work for the microwave.

So, I made new food objects out of them but just called them the same thing as the original files. This is where the decision came in Because they are new food objects they also show up in the fridge menu. So, there were 2 listings for Have ... mac & chese & Have chili. What i did was disable the stove option for Have mac & cheese & Have chili. Now the food only shows up once but if you have this mod installed they use the microwave for the Have servings & the stove for group meals. If I enabled the microwave for group meals then they wouldn't be able to make these on the stove at all or the foods would get listed twice.

So, I decided the best way to handle it was to have single servings only from the microwave & group servings from the stove.

I can, however, provide an alternative package that only serves mac & cheese or chili from the microwave if you want but you wouldn't be able to make them at the stove with this or I could let you do both but then you'd have 2 listings for mac & cheese & chili.

If others would prefer to have them listed twice I can add alternative packages - I could change the name to Micro Mac & Cheese & Micro Chili - so you'd know which one was which. Or I could just disable the stove function & make them completely only microwaveable.

Do these foods require University because they are cloned from the ramen noodles?

jedilizthesim,

I'm not sure - you could try it & see what happens. I think it should work, but I really don't know.

I like the alternative package you had mentioned a couple of weeks ago, making a seperate entry for Micro-Mac and Cheese and regular. Since making mac and cheese in the microwave doesn't fulfill my Sims "learn to make Mac n Cheese" aspiration.

U only put that the original game is needed but the download is under EP required. So is EP required or not?

Neither one of them show up in my game. I have all EP's. Is it compatible with them all?

I recently had a very odd circumstance with the microwave catching fire while one of my sims (with high cooking skills, go figure) was making this type of microwavable mac n cheese I downloaded from this thread, and for some odd reason, the bowl lacked a clean up option. The food was supposed to appear burnt, but the bowl hasn't changed its appearance from cooked to burnt. I also had trouble deleting the bowl because it was a custom food.

I thought I would give you a heads up on the mac n cheese food problem like I encountered, and maybe something was overlooked to allow sims to clean up this bowl when it's burnt.

Other foods are fine as far as I could tell.

Hello everyone,

Thank you all for using my chili for the past year! I have been busy I am updating all of my food mods, plus adding some new stuff. Please delete previous versions of the chili & macncheese & download this new, improved version.

Thank you!
