*UPDATED*looong table - choose your own lenght - now with corners

This is a new mesh, and means that it's a brand new self contained object that usually does not require a specific Expansion pack (although this is possible depending on the type). It may have Recolours hosted on MTS - check below the description for more information.
Picked Upload! This is a picked upload! It showcases some of the best talent and creativity available on MTS and in the community.
Major Update 5/29/06

I totally redid the whole set and added some corners on justicefornone's request. Please redownload!

What is new?
- all tables should be base-game compatible now
- fixed black shadows under all the tables - they are now custom-made and work just perfect
- I made use of the repository technique. This means all the textures are contained in one file. If you want to create a recolour, you must recolour the repository object (MESH_mia86_longtable.package). DO NOT DELETE THIS FILE, or you'll get a lot of flashing blue tables with no use at all.
The advantage of this technique is, that it results in lower file-size and you have to do only one recolour to recolour all tables of the set.
- I added 3 corners which are perfect for restaurants and give you more freedom in placing your tables. There are two round corners (1 floating and 1 with legs) and one rectangular with legs.

I really hope this update solved all issues and thanks again to all who tested this for me

Hi,
Like the title says this is a long table, though it has only one tile. I converted the medieval table to one tile, so that the top touches the edge of the tile. The result is, that you can make your tables as long as you want.
Because it would look stupid to have legs on every tile, I also did one mesh without legs.

Included are:

- 1x1 medieval table mesh with legs
- 1x1 medieval table mesh without legs
- dark brown Maxis recolour as seen in the pics
- black seamless recolour
- dark brown seamless recolour

You may use these in uploaded lots, but if you post only recolours please link back here to the mesh and please don't post on paysites!

Happy Simming, and don't forget to push the thanks-Button

Update: Added some recolours as requested by Gizmo7680 and theunicorn. They are all seamless.
Colours: white, cream, walnut and cherry (last two are by Maxis)
Edit: I just noticed that I only added the picture, but not the zip

Now this is pretty darn cool! I have been hoping something like this would come along and you did a really good job. I do have one question though, is the medieval table mesh from the University expansion? If so, it's not marked as such on the download. But as said, this is really cool and I love it! Thanks for this!

Yeah, it's from Uni, but it should work with the base game (I've cloned it from the wooden outdoor table)

Oh, and it's good to hear that I make 'pretty darn cool' tables :D

Hmmm...actually, you could also use the connecting piece by itself and have and even darn cooler 'floating table' of any length.

Great job Mia!

Again another wonderful creation that will be greeted with open arms in my Harry Potter neighbourhood (if I manage to stick with it, I always manage to screw something up and start all over again!!)

Oh this is just fantastic!! Have waited for someone to make us some tables like this. If you take requests I would like it in a walnut colored wood please. Thanks for the great addition to our games.

Awesome is all I can say, you know how long I've waited for someone to make this. Usually I would use the cheat move_objects and stack table on top of table for something like this but there was a problem with this becuz sims would set plates on top of each other thinking there was more than one place setting. So no more of that, thanks sooo much Mia86 you are definitely becoming an asset to a medieval simmer like myself.

Ah! Thanks for clearing that up for me, I was loving it but since I only have the base game I thought...well heck I'm not going to be able to use it, but it's still pretty darn cool! But now, well now of course I can use it, so it's even more darn cool.

mmmmmm medievaly :D

I love it, I want to use it, but it will only show up in my catalouge, but when I try to buy it there's nothing there to place? Is this because I only have the base game, or is something wrong with me? LOL

I have no idea. It really should work for the base game, as I cloned it from a base game objects. And it seems to work for the others.

Anyway: I'd really appreciate if someone else, who only got the base game, could tell me if it works for him

If you'd open a new one, you could use the Hogwarts I have been building on for ages. It fits into a Neighborhood I downloaded from mts2. So, don't worry if you have to start over again (Though I rarely find time to build at the moment, with all the uploads and requests)

Gizmo7680 and theunicorn,
I'll try to do some decent recolours
Edit: I already did them

To all the others:
Thanks for all the comments, I really like it when my work is appreciated

Oooo, sounds interesting; I've yet again restarted my neighbourhood But it's not really my fault, I keep on downloading houses which say they don't need OFB of FFS, and they always end up either crashing my game, freezing it or costing millions of simolens, oh and minus as well *sigh* I think I have the Hogwarts neighbourhood you mentioned already in my game

Sorry, but it would require all expansions (except FFS) Though I think there's a Hogwarts fitting this neighborhood on insiminator.net.

Shame Seems everything is OFB or FFS now...sucks when you don't like the expansion packs but need them to have certain things in your game

Thanks for testing this Eliza Blaine, itsaledzeppelin and Marhet.
It looks like it requires at least one EP installed. And sorry Ekomancer for giving you the wrong information. Now you have a pretty darn useless table instead of a cool one

Yeah, I know what you mean. I had promised myself never to buy OFB, but then I saw there were round roofs (which I had been searching for for ages) and got weak

Default shadow under legless section
When I tried this in my game, the shadow under the floating part of the table was very dark. It looked like a black square on the floor. Maybe it does better with a dark floor?

Thanks for pointing that out. I had been messing with the shadows, but it didn't work out right. I thought I could leave it like that, cause it showed only in the catalog pic (in my game). But if I get you right, this also shows in the game

I'll change it back to the normal shadow soon, though it will have legs then (I mean the shadow)
Edit: I fixed this in the update
