Known in history as the most beautiful woman to ever live, I bring you a Sim-replica that pales in comparison, but is a tribute nonetheless.

I had originally uploaded her the other day (and the other day before that... this is my third or fourth attempt at uploading this chick!), accidently including a non-uploadable piece of custom content. My explanation [or whatever this is] of her was all witty and cute. I'm very tired but still want to upload her today, so this commentary will be neither. Maybe I'll edit it another day. Right now, I'll just give you the good stuff:

INCLUDED With Nefertiti::

Hair & Clothes: The fantazmik BeosBoxBoy and Sgoobysnacks29's Gold Headress [also good is "Hathor" by Leviathanwings & BBB]; and Gold Nefertiti Dress by Sgoobysnacks29. The meshes and recolors for both are here.

*note: If she has only a face and ears where her whole head should be, I'm very sorry. My computer went wonky and I'm going to try to fix it. Either way, the link above will take you to her crown and dress. Sorry again!*

Skintone: by Maus687 (I think it's the fourth one, but it is one of the medium shades (3-5?)) http://www.modthesims2.com/showthread.php?t=128369

Eye Color: Ninny (LOVE this set!)

Eyebrows: by Helaene "realistic brows - 2"

Eye Liner: by Vanillatango

Lips: Coral Bliss by Deb (It's not there anymore. I had to find it via about 13062 links, just to make that discovery.)

*NOT* INCLUDED:

Blush: it says "rouge blush" e025f682_rouge_blush.package That's all I've got. I guess we'll just have to do without it in the upload. SORRY!

Necklace: Udjat - eye - female Mesh by Dr. Pixel. ONLY IN THE PICTURES! NOT included with upload. (Honestly, I couldn't figure out where I'd gotten this either, and after all the work I've gone through chasing down these Where'sWaldo/Download Protection Program links, I'm kinda DONE. So, sorry. As always, if you see something that's yours or you know whose it is, please let me know. It'll give the creator the credit and me some peace of mind... maybe.)

*edit: The link to this necklace was ever-so-kindly provided for me by Astymma. Here it is: http://modthesims2.com/showthread.php?t=155771. The creator, Dea, is to be thanked for all of her work with sim jewelry- so, Thanks Dea! This will end the edited portion. Thank you and have a lovely day.*

Eye Shadow: Simderz's "Kiss 'N' MakeUp" "Detailed Eye Shadows- the "extra: Gold Eye Shadow" (They have a Do Not Upload policy, but the download is free, so just go to the site. It had other great stuff there, so take a look around while you're there.)

May I just send out a resounding OY in response to all of the ... *poocaca* I had to go through trying to find these links?! Insanity, I tell you! INSANITY!!!! I'm going to need a better filing system.

Anyway, I hope you approve and have lots of fun playing with her!

Always,
Emma

PS: I hate to sound like I'm fishing or pimping over here, but I do love reading comments and seeing the Thanks!

You did a really great job with her!

I know what you mean by needing a new filing system! It's very difficult to track down the creator and/or the site where you downloaded a great item, to make sure they get proper credit. I wish I had a different system... but with all the great stuff I have managed to accumulate, it's too late now.

::edit:: I'd like to add...

I appreciate and am sincerely thankful to all of the wonderful creators in the sims community, who share their work.

Was just about to note the same thing...

To have her with such light skin is to do the Hollywood version of her.

Good Question.

Actually, I had thought of that seeing as how, as you have astutely pointed out, Egypt is in northern Africa I originally wanted to make her very dark. However, the more I searched for pictures of her, the more I found that there are no reliefs or busts depicting her as having anything more than a deep, creamy tan skintone. If you'll notice, in the pictures of Nefertiti, she is surprisingly fair for someone so near Nubia. I don't know if it was a collective decision on the part of the artists to make their royalty appear lighter than they really were (perhaps they felt it made them more god-like, or maybe, as is the case with pictures of women in the late-18-early-1900's, they felt it was a compliment to depict them as paler (and, modernly, more curvaceous) than they actually were so as to appeal to the stereotype of the day), or if the Pharaohs and their families were of lighter complexion than the mass population. I honestly have no idea. In pictures of Cleopatra she's depicted as having extremely pale, milky skin and a surprisingly voluptuous body; nothing like the Hollywood versions.

If my choice of skintone has offended or upset anyone, I'm sorry. I never meant to. When/if she's in your game I encourage you to change her skin to a darker color if that makes her more accurate. I'm going to keep her the way she is now for download, partly because if I change her now I'll have to do all kinds of futzing and jiggerypokery and I really don't want to, and partly because each skintone has different shading, etc and I'll have to reconstruct her face in accord with it (which I also really don't want to do).

I thank you all for your comments and for taking an interest in historical accuracy (yes, I'm a total geek and proud of it ). Please never stop questioning and giving advice/suggestions!
Always,
Emma :D

Cleopatra was the last in the line of Ptolemies... The original Ptolemaic Pharaoh was a Greek man, General to Alexander the Great. He started the Ptolemaic Dynasty after the death of Alexander.... The Ptolemies were significantly paler than those they ruled.

Also, Nile Egyptians have always had Fairer skin than the desert and plain dwelling Nubians.

You did GREAT, and she's gorgeous! Don't sweat the critics!
