Picked Upload! This is a picked upload! It showcases some of the best talent and creativity available on MTS and in the community.
I love foxes, and of course I had to try and make one. It came out so well that I decided to share, and make a more standard breed colour as well.

Foxes are a species closely related to dogs and cats, though most people consider them to be a dog species - not true, they are only fertile with other foxes - but they have much more in common with the housecat, especially in dispostion. They, for example, will use the litterbox, are solitary mini-predators, and are far more independant than a dog. Hence, why these foxes mew.

Included is the lovely silver 'red fox' or vulpes vulpes, as well as the richly warm red 'red fox'. Modelling for the pictures are Kitsune and Todd. These are the breed files, at least in theory, and I hope you enjoy them.

---Images updated - thanks LyricLee - and text editted for accuracy.

Also, it might be noted in these pictures the red fox, Todd, has blue eyes. The breed file has both colours with brown, I was just being fanciful with the play version remakes of the foxes.

Basic Download and Install Instructions:

1. Download: Click the download link to save the .rar or .zip file(s) to your computer.

2. Extract the zip, rar, or 7z file.

3. Install: Double-click on the .sims2pack file to install its contents to your game. The files will automatically be installed to the proper location(s).
  • You may want to use the Sims2Pack Clean Installer instead of the game's installer, which will let you install sims and pets which may otherwise give errors about needing expansion packs. It also lets you choose what included content to install. Do NOT use Clean Installer to get around this error with lots and houses as that can cause your game to crash when attempting to use that lot. Get S2PCI here: Clean Installer Official Site.

These look really cool, definitely downloading once I get the EP.

It would be a lot better if you got screen shots not thumbnail pictures.

um... yeah...

Well, they are, but for some reason I had a very hard time getting close to either of the foxes. I trimmed away the excess image. And thank you. I'm looking forward to playing them in my own game, once work permits.

Awesome!
I think I'm going to try to make a fox, though as a dog breed, only because of size(As i too agree they are closer to cats)

These are great! but as a zoology student I must point out that foxes are a member of the dog super-family(Canidae) and while the Canids do share ancestry with the felines(as well as bears and weasils) they are not directly related.
I agree though that foxes do behave more like cats in some instances though

Well, thanks a whole lot of a bunch - LOL. Foxes and wolves are some of the animals I have dreamt of. These are very nice looking, and I like them being cats. In fact I would prefer them as real wild animals, but only close to the houses so sims could sozialize with them without the animals needing to be taken care of. But this is very nice, and I am sure, I will love them in my game.

Hi,
I tried to install this on to my game, but then it told me that I needed another expansion pack =/ How can that be if it's for Pets? I can't think of any way any other EP could be involved in these. I'm also having this problem with other downloads :-/ I wonder what's going on.

It is possible that it is wanting nightlife, because I have that installed. It shouldn't, but it could be causing a problem.

If anyone else is having a similar problem, please let me know and I'll look into it.

You can go ahead and download any pets you want in download section. The upload actual pets warning is just for creators to stop uploading new pets for a while.

Update: July 2009-I am back now to make invisible and tranparent recolors again in sims 2. You can pm me if you want your objects to be invisible and transparent from now.

*laughs* This is only true because the name of the fox in that movie was named the same as the proper term for a male fox. But yes, that was also the name of the fox in Fox and Hound.
