Life is like toast! Sometimes its golden and sometimes its burnt. Now go make me some toast- thats an order.

Do excuse me, but I'm a little dense at times - is the cure permanent?

Great idea to make it into an asp. reward! That's definitely going into my DL folder.

Is it compatible with the Pets EP?

I'm glad you like it. I'm a big Final Fantasy fan to, my favorite is FFVII.

chris47:
Yes, it's permanent which gives me an idea, a potion that turns you into a zombie but when it wears off you turn back into a normal sim.

Blalala:
It should be, but I can't verify it since I don't have Pets.

I also accidentally created a Zombie, so I tried to kill her and then bring her back and she was still a zombie, this is awesome. I ended up killing her, now I can bring her back and make her drink the potion.
Thanks

Awesome! Thanks for this! Can you make it so that the aspiration reward turns normal sims into zombies with gold or plat asp, and death otherwise?

Also... can you make similar aspiration type versions for vampires and werewolves? That is, a cure for vampires with gold or plat asp, it turns normal (teens, adults, and elders) sims into vamps with gold or plat asp, dusty death for those with green or red asp.

Same goes for werewolves. It's a cure for werewolves with gold or plat asp, it turns normal sims (the appropriate ages, whatever they may be) sims into werewolves with gold or plat asp, and death for those with green or red asp.

I know there are tons of similar potions available that turn sims into vamps and werewolves or whatever, but i really like your aspiration based idea.

Yeah, that's a great idea, I didn't think of having it turn normal sims into zombies. I'll get to work on it, but I can't do one for werewolves right now since I don't have Pets yet.

This is great, the aspiration thing is something I thought of (kind of) and I'm glad to see I wasn't the only one! Especially since you are the potions master, and I'd have had no idea where to even start.

Yeah, I thought that if most people's sims are like mine then they have more aspiration points than they can ever spend on the limited number of aspiration rewards there are, so this is a little something to help them get rid of all the APs they have accumulated. Also some of my potions have all but eliminated the need for such rewards as the Thinking Cap so this sorta helps to restore the balance.

Thanks this is so great and so needed. I do also like the idea of being able to change them into zombies if that one is made also. The fun we can have. I have a horrible time catching vampires to bite a sim to become. I just love all of your neat mods and shall not want to live without them in my game! Thank You

Werewolf and vampire potions are already made by DJ's Sims: http://www.djssims.com/

Ahhh. I forgot about those. Thanks jordi. Regardless... I would also like to see purchaseable and sellable ones as well. So I could potentially make an apothecary shop... and I also like the gypsy potion controller thingie so that we can also buy the potions from the gypsy.

I wonder if Josh's versions of the aspiration based potions have negative consequences. I'll have to ask him.

Ste

PS. Now I remember the difference... I thought it would be neat that these are curing potions for those afflicted with the "disease" but also imparts the affliction to normal sims who use it.

It would be neat if... instead of killing normal sims, maybe sims who are below gold asp become a zombie, vampire, or werewolf, but if they are in gold or plat, they gain some temporary protection from being turned. I figured that might be too hard or complicated to do, so that's why I suggested that for normal sims, it turns them into whatever it normally cures. I also like the idea of these potions, as both a cure (for those afflicted) and an affliction (for those who are "normal") consolidated into one potion per each affliction.

I also noticed someone mentioned that the memory of being vamped didn't work with djssims vamp potion (which seems to turn sims into vamps only, as far as I can tell). So... I was wondering if this zombie potion adds the appropriate memory(ies) to the sim who becomes a zombie, and anyone else who may witness them, and thus also satisfy the associated wants and fears.

If so, I would still love to see devampification potion as well as a delycanthropic potion, should you ever actually get Pets. Or... if you would like, I wouldn't mind using your hack as a basis and then making a version for werewolves, unless you are already planning to get Pets in the near future. In that case, it would seem better that they were all made by you.

Let me know either way.

It will be awhile before I get Pets so if you want to make one for werewolves using mine as a base that would be great. Meanwhile I'm going to work on making it so normal sims who are below gold level are changed into zombies if they drink it. Then I'll make one for vampires that does the same.

I have a vampire lure potion planned. It will make the sim who drinks it irresistable to vampires and at night vampires will come to the sim's lot and attack them.

This rocks! I adore zombies, but it sucks that you can't really do anything with them.. . So this will come in very handy!

Check out JM Pescado's Zombie Apocalypse at MATY . Search for it under 'The Firing Range'.

Here's the details:

Are zombies boring? Does their lack of brain-eating bother you? Zombies will
now attempt to attack other sims and EAT THEIR BRAINS, turning them into
zombies as well!

OH MY GOSH THANK YOU!!!! Hahahahahaha.... I can have a TON of zombie sims now...
This is even more amazing because-In the mac version of the sims2 Open for Business, any zombies created using the Ressurrect-O-Nimitron are married to/in love with/ best friends with/ EVERYONE! (No one has offered a fix yet that I know of..) However, with your amazing hack, the zombies are how they are supposed to be!!!!!! No unwanted marriages or anything!!! Thanks again so much!!!!

hmm, looking at the code for the Ressurrect-O-Nimitron I see the behaviour function that has the potential to do what your describing. I don't have OFB and my computer's a PC, but I could extract the behaviour function in question from the Nightlife objects.package and attach it to a post in this thread, you can then download it and place it in your downloads folder which should override whatever changes were made to it by OFB. Let me know if you want to try it out or not.

Wow, that would be great, if it's not too difficult. Apparently this is a problem with ALL macs with OFB, I've seen it posted in lots of places and thus it would be a great help to me and many others. ^_^ But regardless, your nice little potion here is another easy fix to the problem. Thanks again.

Ok, here it is, the behaviour function that it will override is Sub - React - Patch All Relationships. Let me know if it fixes the problem. Also, since I don't know what OFB added to or changed in the Ressurrect-O-Nomitron, but I'm assuming whatever it changed or added to the Patch All Relationships BHAV probably deals with employees and employers relationships with one another, let me know if it has any undesired effects. If it works I'll go ahead and upload it to a new thread so that other Mac users will be able to find and download it, if not they can always use my potion and Pescado's Zombie Apocalypse to make zombies.
