Picked Upload! This is a picked upload! It showcases some of the best talent and creativity available on MTS and in the community.
Cost: 73.299§
Lot: 2x3
Households: N/A

Nightlife and OfB required.
Custom content included: Two wallpapers by myself

For sims that are sick of living in the suburbs, Backdoor Lane provides an alternative: a couple of small town lots with a more urban look and feel. They fit together like a jigsaw puzzle, creating a maze of backyard gardens and interconnected alleyways when placed in a tightly spaced neigbourhood. Most of them work as corner lots as well as facing the street, creating a very different impression depending on how you place them and what's on the lot next door.

Backdoor Lane 12
An abandoned factory with seven rooms on two floors + basement -- up to you what to make of it. Relaunch the robot manufacturing business (the equipment is still there), use it for some other business, turn it into a loft-style residency, grow cabbage in the backyard? It's currently zoned residential in any case.

1 x manufacturing hall
1 x shower room
1 x bathroom
1 x server room (or whatever the green things are)
2 x empty room
1 x shed (empty)
1 x basement (two rooms, empty)

Five cars can park in the yard (two included).

Thank you:
This collection (frillen) as well as this one (loba) and that one (windkeeper), the mini lots by Andi8104 and the ones based thereupon (MaryLou) have been very useful in making the Backdoor Lane neighbourhood. Thanks for making them available.

Please don't PM me with neighbourhood terrain requests (look in the Neighbourhoods section instead), downloading issues (I can't help you -- look in Site Issues, Q-XPress forums etc), or Build Mode questions (general questions go here, lot specific questions in the d/l thread). Thanks.

Basic Download and Install Instructions:

1. Download: Click the download link to save the .rar or .zip file(s) to your computer.

2. Extract the zip, rar, or 7z file.

3. Install: Double-click on the .sims2pack file to install its contents to your game. The files will automatically be installed to the proper location(s).
  • You may want to use the Sims2Pack Clean Installer instead of the game's installer, which will let you install sims and pets which may otherwise give errors about needing expansion packs. It also lets you choose what included content to install. Do NOT use Clean Installer to get around this error with lots and houses as that can cause your game to crash when attempting to use that lot. Get S2PCI here: Clean Installer Official Site.

Like your backdoor lane series very much, but I don't get them installed with Q-Xpress. The report says that this isn't a Sims2pack or the file is corrupted. As happens with all the houses of the series. Do you know what causes this?
I hope you have a solution, because I really like you houses. I think you have done a excellent job! Grtz Fran

I just wanted to tell you I really love the Backdoor Lane series, and the factory-like ones are my favorite. (but really, I love all the ones with cool basements) Keep up the good work! :D

The backyard matches perfectly to the house. Very good work.

Seems this one has a problem with seasons. It thinks the inside is outside so sitting watching TV in the winter gets you cold.

This is a great house, I love this series. However, I agree with one of the previous posts...this particular house doesn't seem to work well with Seasons. The entire first floor indoors gets covered in snow in the winter and Sims using the first floor during cold weather get, well, cold. Is there any way to fix this?

And another nice house in this series. I wonder what kind of business my sims are going to establish here. Thank you!
